Year 24XX. With several hundred years of improvements, virtual reality has become more mature. It had gradually become humanity’s second world. Socializing, working, studying and other everyday things could all be done while sleeping.

Along with the rise in virtual reality systems, virtual games also developed successfully. Additionally, with the vigorous support of the government; every season, games continued to be born, be changed, competed with each other, and be reborn.

Ye Cang is a black bellied, underachieving, 2nd year student at a city college. He appears to have been cured of his albinism yet his story is still full of mystery. In the game ‘New Age – Conviction’, he began walking the path of a professional gamer. An all-rounder ranger, dark cooking, with a nasty disposition, willing to do anything. He’s slowly creating his own legend.

“Actually… instead of games, I prefer cooking and dramas” – The White Emperor

Chapter 12 - [Rated 4 stars]

Looks very good at this time.

4 friends in a virtual world. 3 of them with the objective of sustaining themselves economically in school by being pro gamer; the fourth friend (female) to maintain an eye on them (specially a romantic eye in the MC).

... more>> The interaction between the 3 friends (and everyone else) are fun and challenging. They all seem low IQ airheads but the efficacy of their actions contradict this notion.

The combat descriptions are better than the average in light novels.

By Chap. 12, the title of this novel could have been 'the good heart of hoodlums', maybe 'the despicable friends' or even better 'the 3 stooges in a virtual world'...

Chap 33: The serious part in the story is confirmed. The MC seem to have a ruthless and bloody background. It should give a counter balance to the comedy aspect. But we will have to wait to see if it doesn't wreck the narrative. A bad example of that is Zhan Long novel (although its VR part was also very poor).

Chapter 111 - [Rated 5 stars]

I really must give it a better rating. It does deserve it.

Some novels go and repeat themselves without originality or loose all focus and they turn very boring. Not with this one, it seems. And all that by maintaining the same relaxing and fun pace from the beginning and by just playing with the personalities of the characters, their expectations and the situations.

Some interesting points: the virtual world gives indications of being very different from what we usually see in VR game novels. As the 'real world' it also has its differences from a contemporary one. So much more challenges can be expected to be enjoyed in the future.

A good word to define this type of novel should be: 'Satire'. The author is really laughing at the genre and we can be his companions in crime. <<less

I happen to enjoy the concept of vrmmo novels, however I find that almost every MC is so hopelessly overpowered that the vrmmo elements become an utter breeze. As you can imagine I don't like to read blatantly overpowered main characters. This novel's main character is blatantly overpowered, he heals more than a priest, is better with bows than an archer, does more spell damage than a mage, is better at melee than a swordsman. All I can do is roll my eyes at the author for his shamelessness for... more>> making his main character the best at everything, even shitty fanfiction novels know that making your MC perfect at everything makes a boring novel.

The MC also has two not quite as op party members from real life, and a variety of female players he meets ingame as companions. Which brings me to the worst part of the novel so far, the romance. Its hard to describe without spoiling the novel, but in fact the entire real life portion is rather cringe and melodramatic. The MC has an incredibly melodramatically tragic life, with adds complexity to the character and story (not). When I read the backstory of the MC, I remembered this is almost copy and paste the backstory of half the amateur fictions on the internet. Make a extremely tragic backstory to justify your mary sue, then have women attracted like honey to his "complexity" and "superiority" The whole interactions of the real life portion feel to me extremely artificial and forced. <<less

Very fun read, group of three idiots playing a vr RPG to become pro-gamers. No serious convoluted plot, just fun. Though, there have been hints of serious stuff every now and then, but nothing complicated.

Too fresh for the genre of virtual game, the novel is fun to die for, you have serious moments and the characters are deeper than they appear, it is a must read. Too funny

this story is very interesting. Just one thing I find so unsatisfying and annoying which is the so called thornrose character. Based on the story up till now, she may bcome the lover at last with the MC. I really dont like her character. At first it was ok and funny but until recent chapters, her behaviour become more and more annoying. She felt like it was justified to intrude on everything the MC group done even if it was none of her business. Even setting the 'spy'. Then her... more>> thinking on how all the good things waste on 'pigs'. She is like a leech and clingy b***h. All in all, I totally worship palesnow x nalan soul. [Edit]: after reading the raws, I just stop reading past 400 chapters. The reason? I just cannot stand this thornrose. It's fine if she just appear now and then, but no. She just keep appear every chapters and her monologue was lame and her sigh was irritating. The story was attractive, but she kill that attraction for me I guess. <<less

A really good balance between comedy and hype. The MC and his bros are one of the funniest combo I've ever seen.

Recommended for anyone looking for funny banter, decent sci-fi plot and interesting characters.

The MC is super OP in real life and in game with a tragic past, so it is really fascinating to see how little tidbits of his past is uncovered. Personally, this MC is my ideal type of protagonist to read about since the MC is overpowered, mysterious, calm/cold, and has a tragic past. The main characters are also really interesting because the 'Three Brothers" complement each other in terms of character and fighting abilities, plus the comedy between them is hilarious at times, especially Lin Le. The story seems... more>> to be a parody/mash up of sorts since martial arts, virtual gaming, aliens, artificial beings, beast men, hell/higher order, and etc. Comes into play, so sometimes I think there might be too many things going on at the same time. For example, there would be a scene where in the real world the MC is doing something, then the scene suddenly switches to hell, then goes back to the real world, which really makes you wonder where the plot is moving. I'm not saying this a bad thing, but if this type of switching back and forth between unrelated scenes occur many times, then it gets kind of irritating. In terms of side characters, I REALLY HATE Th**ny ROSE. Th**ny Rose is those types of hot blooded, greedy, and nosy characters that you would usually see as a villain/third wheel, but in this case, Th**ny Rose is portrayed as a potential love interest for the MC which is darn annoying. The only reason that I subtracted 1 star from my rating is because of how greedy and hot blooded Th**ny Rose and some of the other female side characters are. The way that Th**ny Rose and other female characters get pissed off at the smallest of things and start to become angry is really boring and hypocritical to read and at this point, I just really want someone to kill off Th**ny Rose because of her lack of character development/huffy puffy crazy personality. Overall, I am looking forward to see how the plot plays out and I am praying that the MC does not end up with Th**ny Rose because I feel like shooting her. My ship is Ye Cang (MC) x NalanPureSoul! GO FUJOSHI! \^O^/ <<less

This novel is comedy gold, and I highly recommended it to anyone looking for a fun, funny, light but also dark read. It has an op MC and his op posse, and they are all clueless in every category that they aren't op in. We hear everyone's pov, especially the side characters who are constantly trolled by the posse. The story so far seems to be a vehicle for several running jokes, with a serious, mysterious plot hinted at occasionally.

The translation is fantastic, and the batch releases are a binge... more>> reader's dream. Don't miss this! <<less

Sorry if you think I'm no good with reviews but this is just my personal opinion:

I've finished reading until the latest chapters for only 3 days of course continuing to live normally within those days. Why that fast? Because you won't want to wait for the next day to read the next story.

The content and story of the novel is too hilarious that you won't be able to supress your laughter! Seriously speaking and no kidding aside, this can brighten up your mood and let your problems fly away.

I just... more>> seriously want you all to read this, its a must!

(I sound like advertising here but no lies are stated within the said sentences.) I won't talk about the story lines and describe situations because I seriously do not want to spoil the fun thats why I said what I felt after reading all the latest chapers.

I LOVE THE THREE IDIOTS, ALSO YE TIAN SO MUCH. ESPECIALLY YE CANG!

I kinda wished theres also a tv series thats like Sisters here in real life. I'd definitely watch it lololol <<less

This is by far one of the best comedies I've come across. So many hilarious moments that crack you up. The game mechanics are interesting and the real life story line is equally so, if not more. So much intrigue yet not melodramatic and has a general feel good vibe to the whole story. The events don't feel repetitive nor make it a chore to finish the chapter - I'm looking at you Zhan Long

Highly recommend for anyone who is a fan of the comedy and virtual reality genres

This isn't one of those typical I'm gonna be a thief and rule the world. This is a comedic story with interactions between 3 friends. I'm not sure why but the game sort of reminds me of maple.

I'm not really good with writing reviews so I will keep it short.

pro:

  • Op MC with a tragic background story
  • Hilarious comedy
  • Interesting story and lively characters
con:

  • The world is not properly described so in the beginning you might misunderstand some things
  • Written a bit blandly (some scenes could use more tension and a mysterious touch)
  • Some jokes get used a bit too often
All in all I would give it 4.25 stars if that was possible.

(some extremely MINOR spoilers)

Haven't been this disappointed in a novel in a long time. The reason being is it started out pretty darn interesting and extremely funny!

The first time the MC went nuts trying to loot a boss/chest was pretty funny with everyone blocking him due to his bad luck.

... more>> The third time was pretty funny since we already knew the reason behind it.

.... The tenth time?... Are we still supposed to be laughing at this every time it happens?

The same goes for him cooking something gross and people fainting or being sick after eating it. Must have seen this joke at least 8 times already, each one pretty much having a chapter dedicated to it. I don't get it... Did the author see that readers found it funny the first and second time, and just think he could KEEP doing it OVER and OVER again? It's to the point where it actually instantly annoyed me when I realized it was one of those two jokes again.

Next.. The background of the MC is pretty interesting. Granted, it may only seem as interesting as it does because the author gives us not even half a chapter of information every 50 chapters or so. The rest are a mix between what I mentioned above, and incredibly boring MMO boss fights.

The author seems to suffer from the same condition that plague a lot of authors who write MMO novels. They get obsessed with creating their own MMO world, leaving behind the character's stories themselves. I have to think that 75% of people who read these end up skipping over the stats of items and character sheets, especially seeing as how stuff like that almost never actually matters in the story, with the MC and his companions winning no matter the odds.

All in all, this story started out as something pretty interesting, but dove into something terrible and generic once the author must have realized he didn't have very many original ideas of his own. What a shame, as the three brothers are decent characters themselves with a great dynamic between one another. If they were put into a different story with a different author, I think they could have been given their just due. 200 chapters before they even left the beginner village.... though that may be due to the translator purposefully cutting the chapters into pieces to make it look like he translated more.

P.S. I can't stand the Th**ny Rose character. A typical good looking but angry to the point where she seems like a mental case woman. Every time the MC does something that would cause a normal person to maybe glare at him, flip him off, or at worst shout at him, she physically attacks him to the point of biting him. This is another thing that has happened close to ten times. Forgot to add this "joke" with the other two above. Then she suddenly wants him out of all the people she knows to pretend to be his boyfriend?.. Why? She seems him as a lowlife. Why pick him? Why not any other guy she knows?

Ahh sorry that was supposed to be a short PS, but this story just really miffs me. <<less

I love this novel and I can't help but eagerly await for the next one. The translator, syzc, is godsend! He/she uploads in batches so no cliffhangers here!! Thank you so much

As for why I love this novel. Comedy definitely tickles me silly and leaves me gasping. The shamelessness of MC... haha! I also love how the author didn't forget about the happenings outside the game. Some authors tend to forget or breeze on through their mc's 'IRL' lives. MC and his friends aren't just dumb and silly. They are... more>> unexpectedly deep in their own way. The story definitely has its sci-fi moment but you have to agree that it makes sense. By the time those super VR reality comes to life, technology and society also should have already gone a long way. Speaking of their IRL lives, I find that the deeper plotline occurs outside the game (as is in real life) and I admire that. Cons? MC too OP? Yes! Give me my dose of OP MC, without a gaggle of girls at his beck and call, that leaves me breathless chapter after chapter due to laughter anyday :)))

Basically... I was baited. Hooked. And undeniably attached. <<less

Good vrmmorpg novel.

Everything the other reviews say describes it well, but none of them mention one annoying thing.

Spoiler

The main repeated comedic bit is the MC's interaction with a female guild leader. It wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't the same thing in every chapter that involves the VR game. The girl gets caught up in the quest and she irrationally gets furious at most of the MC's lines, yet repeatedly forces herself into the quests for the benefits. It seems she is kept around for the comedy, which wouldn't be bad if it wasn't constant.

[collapse]

It's simply a child throwing a tantrum repeatedly, with no one saying anything about it. If that annoys you, I'd recommend ignoring this novel. I'll drop it if it continues after the beginner village.

I just dislike irrational characters that blame others for their own choices, while at the same time ignoring that they are constantly benefitted by those others.

EDIT: I don't recommend trying, but if you can get past the first 210ish chapters the author finally puts the annoying character on the back-burner. An arc is coming up where they will team up again in-game again though, so idk if she'll be pushed back again after that, I'm doubting it from some story bits. <<less

This novel can be described in one sentence: 3 bros are having the time of their life.

Seriously, the story is mainly about 3 bros playing vr games and doing s*upid sh*t while at it. Oh, and pissing others off as well.

But, of course, because this is a chinese novel, it bounds to have some serious moments. Why? Don't bother asking about it. Finding a novel that doesn't have any cliché dark past stuffs (which, to be honest, make me cringe all the time) is just like finding a needle in... more>> a haystack.

But fret not, the seriousness in this one won't make you cringe, that's for sure.. Well, at least only a tiny bit.

Aaaaand, the one thing I like the most about the protagonist (the white-haired one, not the muscular nor the dumb one), is that although his past is.. Well, not all sunny, and he's s*upidly OP, he doesn't go around bragging about it like the other protagonists in other novels. ("Oh no, my past is dark and painful so I won't tell you about it, but because you only asked my once and I only met you for the first time, I'll brag about it anyways.")

So yeah, that's all. I hope this review will help some of you set up your mind on reading or not because this is a fantastic read. <<less

Honestly, this story is about the adventures of the trio of trolls, the three idiots, the hilariously ret*rded musketeers, or whatever label you wish to name them. Their interactions with other characters ensures comedic situations that are enough to make you breathless.

Even though this is a VRMMO story, the story also very effectively attracts your interest in their lives outside of the game. In fact, I'm actually more interested in what goes on outside than inside the game. Somehow.

Note that this story isn't to be taken too seriously, just read... more>> for the enjoyment that it provides: its light-hearted slapstick comedy. (Within the game, at least.) <<less

Some of you guys tried to reason with the story. The question I have for you guys is, IS YOU s*upid?. This is a novel, fiction novel where everything is fake, why must it make sense? Why don't you ask Poseidon why he would fuçk Percy Jackson's mom even tho he was told not to fuçk any mortal? Why don't you question why Harry Potter is so racist to the point where I can't find anymore than one Asian?

So I'm just saying, don't give low star for this novel because... more>> of such s*upid thing like 'not make any senses'. <<less
