Absolute tr*sh.. I never even used such words to describe any novel but this... ughhh I had to

it just makes me so frustrated that I spent like a day binge reading this trying to see if it gets any better cuz of all the dumb 5 star reviews and the unbelievably high rating but on the contrary, it keeps getting worse.. a lot worse

the premise it started with was pretty interesting and there was A TON of possibilities.. but the author made it out in the worst possible way anyone... more>> can think of..

characters development is nonexistent, in fact it's the opposite of it.. the MC keeps getting more ret*rded and acts even more braindead.. even though at the start he was your generic cold, detached, almost cool, loner MC.. after he spent 1000 years on earth with an angel babysitting him, reading books and learning everything possible for a human.. he devolved into a complete ret*rd instead

the side characters are so shallow and bland.. they might as well not exist. they made no difference whatsoever to when he was alone on earth.. that's how bad they are.. other than the fact that they have no set personality.. they literally flip personalities every single chapter.

i would've much preferred if MC was alone and kept exploring dungeons, fighting OP monsters, lvling up and getting all those power ups instead of the whole "angels/ high existences" garbage the author came up with

the "comedy" wasn't anything notable.. like who the heck would go reading this for comedy anyways.. just stick with goddamn genre, shouldn't dungeon/rpg sorta novels supposed to be just that,

I wouldn't mind if it was actually funny like AWE or smth, but the comedy here was just a bunch of corny one liners that made me cringe..

there's a lot more to be said but ill just leave it at that..

it's unreadable and that's me doing it justice. <<less

I f#cking love this novel. It is probably one of the (if not the best) that I have ever read.

I would have given 4 starts bc author polled wether there should be a harem, which ended up being a no. The author completely ignored that lol and ended up making the ending a harem sh#t show where he has like 9 (probably more) wifes and dozens of kids.

However bc of how much I actually enjoyed reading through this novel (binged through in a month) I will say in my book... more>> it does deserve 5 stars.

Spoiler

A lot of people are saying that its bullsh#t that god didnt notice him. Now either those people didnt read until the last 100-200 chapters or they turned their brains off. God didnt notice him because of the main characters fathers (who is secretly an archangel) pulling string behind the curtains. He is also the reason why our MC spent 1000 years while others spent 10 years. Now regarding monster that can shrug off nukes and fire arms, it depends what tier that monster is on. Tier 1 monsters are bullet resistant not bullet proof. Tier 2 monsters however are bullet proof and require quite a lot of manpower and explisoves to take down. Tier 3 monster can survive nukes but will be severly injured. Tier 4 monster can (the giant humanoid monster that MC fights 50 or so chapters in for example) can shrug off nukes with a bit of effort. Now regarding MC becoming a master of every type of weapon, (not joking lol) becoming the best blacksmith in existence, (dont look at me the system said it) reading all the books in the biggest russian library, visiting all countries and learning every language, and hunting a ton of animals (i think he hunted like 1 of each species at least, even killing a whale) is bullshit. You would need more than 1000 years for that.

[collapse]

Now with all that ranting out of the way, would I recommend it?

Yes. I would absolutely recommend it. Sure you will sometimes feel like punching the everliving hell out of some characters because of how annoying they can be, but if you can move on from that you will be in for a blast.

That's all peace out fellas. <<less

This novel starts up very itneresting, with a super fun premise and great writing. The relationship between MC and the angel was fun and lovely, and it was by far my favorite part of the novel. This is a story where the MC becomes unbelievable overpowered, and I would be okay with that, if it was written in such a way that it benefited the story and the side characters and MC had interesting character development. What happens is not this. Every woman in this world fall in love with... more>> the MC, the relationship between MC and the angel he was with for xxx years was not in focus, and the main story of the world couldn't keep my interest with the weakness of the cast. <<less

Dissapointed. Really forced harem meanwhile one best girl alone would be enough. Even the girls that the MC openly hated suddenly becomes his harem. Story got bland after the MC keeps getting OP with no major pushback and randomly going against his own words. MC keeps adding more and more girls into his harem while saying pathetic excuses like they were only friends or partner. Damn am I exicted after the author promised no harem while thinking finally fantasy with no harem but becomes dissapointed when he retracts those statements... more>> later and finally reaching a chapter that contains harem that pops out of nowhere. <<less

Simply disappointed, the first 1/3 of the story is not bad, there is an interesting development of MC and the main heroine. Other characters look interesting or just plain fun. The fights are not a prime, but they please, mainly because the MC is strong, but it is not invincible, for several moments you feel that he can be defeated and need to use ingenuity to win. Besides that history knows how to dose well the hours of being comical and the moment to be serious...

But all this goes downhill... more>> even before the middle of the story. All development of any character other than the MC is discarded, the main heroine loses her more mature, if somewhat clumsy personality, to simply act the rest of the story as if she had the mindset of a child. Out of nowhere becomes a generic harem where the only function of heroines is to comment on how strong the MC is, how handsome he is, how clever he is. The fights become horrible, boring, unenthusiastic, and the once-strong but not invincible MC simply destroys any opponent, no matter how strong or overwhelming they are, all without even needing to be needed. If you try hard, it just gets extremely easy for the MC.

And the serious moments? Forget. Everything becomes a joke upon a joke, turning the story into a big nonsense. And in the end, if you still endure the torture of reading this to the end, you will still be presented with a running climax. With s*upid villains and a revelation that comes as no surprise, as you will see it coming from before the middle of the story. <<less

Well I kinda like the concept but yea author didn't fill the readers up about the materials and it'a ranks of how is it stronger something like that, the deliver is way too off mark with forced scenarios and the author ruined it more with his SO-UNFUNNY-JOKES and OVERLY FORESHADOWING while narrating the story. Also the MC always talks about foreshadowing it isn't even funny it just ruins the enjoyment of the readers.

The Author throws everything that MC needs (i.e MC needs a certain material― *author will go make a... more>> monster appear that has the material* and MC will kill it― then REPEAT)

It also lacks in details be it the surroundings, items and materials, I think it wont hurt for the story to be a little bit original, it has too much references and fails to blend it with the story.

As for the subpar translations.. *Sigh* a certain word will change for like 2-3 times and it's confusing (i.e the word 'Soul' turned to 'Rank' then changes to 'League'. Fk idk anymore). Also the editing for the love of god I don't even know if this novel really had an editor 'cause there is 'Editor Notes' on some chapter but every chapter there is a handful of errors whether the sentences or spellings.

Edit:

As of ch50 I really want to drop this but I'm forcing myself to think that "this will get good somehow", well I think it's such a waste to drop this novel 'cause it has such high rating. But no it goes downhill as I proceed on reading it. What I abhor is MOST of the 'important details' of the story is on the "Author's note". Every chapters =_= Instead of putting it on author's note why not Express it through the novel? Tbh this is so unprofessional. The ratings of this novel cheated me. Lol seriously hhhhh <<less

It was reasonably decent [think 3/5]..

[.. As long as you ignore the fact that the characters can basically do anything the author wants at any given point in the story, and the author apparently has no idea how physics works. Examples include humans with no real physical training surviving >2000G's of force and ending up with mild nausea instead of instant death, and characters holding conversations mid-air at mach 20 where apparently the speed of sound is just a suggestion — just talk a little louder, it's fine.]

.. Until the... more>> harem nation attacked.

The author has no f*cking idea how to write romance, and ruined the story with it — and I'm not just talking about the romance being bad or uninspired: I mean it was physically repulsive to read.

As far as I can tell the author is essentially just transcribing their own failed romance attempts where they harass women and get called disgusting into novel form, reversing the genders so it's the guy being harassed, and then making it actually work (aka wish fulfillment) instead of ending with a restraining order. Women don't act like this in reality — hell, even most men don't.

If you have any reservations about the main character being forced into relationships with loud, s*upid women, then learn from my mistake — because that's exactly what happens here. <<less

I really liked the series, up near the end. At the very end, he quickly throws the harem/polygamy at you and everyone is suddenly okay with it. Not to mention that, while some of them liked him a little, there was only one person who actually had a deep and meaningful relationship with the main character. They spent 1000 years together. At that point, I felt like the author sh*t on the novel, so I quit reading it completely.

I really enjoyed the work. I see a lot of negative criticism of the work (although to me, they are meaningless), so I decided to leave my point so that future readers do not fail to appreciate because of the comments (of course, everyone has the right to find what they want).
As a passionate about RPG and MC elements that gets overpowered, this work hit squares. Surprisingly it keeps you focused and works well the characters in general. The protagonist is fun even being antisocial; is almost a joke with characters that do not stay in groups. The MC is not only strong, but also intelligent and has difficulties, which is good because if he always wins alone he will not have grace, he will not have tension; he uses his intellect and preparation to deal with the most diverse situations, which is another point that makes it fun since his companions find him careful at extreme level and no frills: if it is an enemy, it should be eliminated. The work itself is excellent and I plan to read it again. If you are in doubt due to divergence of opinions, I recommend that you read the first 15 chapters will already be enough to arouse your curiosity and some more as it has a fight in chapter 20. I am sure that will arrest you.

By the way, my English is terrible, so sorry for any mistake.

This was honestly a joy to read, and by far the best Isekai I've found on this site, with the possible exception of Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken. The characters, while not overly complex, are all distinct and likable. The protagonist is smart, genre-savvy, and immensely talented, but is continuously forced to face adversaries way beyond his league, and thus never lacking challenges that push him to his limits. The storyline itself is surprisingly complex and more than enough to keep people entertained. And most importantly, an endless quantity of witty banter and lively character interactions gives this story more energy than you see in most published novels.

Having said that, this is a story with the tags Comedy, Harem, Overpowered Protagonist, and Parallel Worlds. If you... more>> are the kind of person who categorically hates these genres, you will not like this story, regardless of its quality compared to other stories of its type. Conversely, if you're not overly bothered by those tags, you almost certainly will like this story. Seriously, read the genre tags, guys. This is basic stuff.

REASONS TO LOVE THIS STORY:

    • Humorous and self-aware banter, filled with meta jokes and references
    • Overpowered, genre-savvy protagonist, who consistently makes darn-near optimal use of his abilities to turn the tables on overwhelmingly more powerful adversaries
    • Engaging story with plenty of plot twists
    • Harem actually goes somewhere
    • Deceptively well thought-out world with plenty of dynamic characters
    • No plot holes* (see spoiler)
Spoiler
    • There is technically one exception, which is that the protagonist needs massively more experience than everyone else to level up. It is implied that one of the reasons for this is that his effective level is much higher than the level displayed on his status, but this is never stated outright.
      • However, in the case of Ymir & friends, it is explained: they received a massive experience bonus from the protagonist's Rule skill. It can be understood that other non-Transcender higher existences benefitted from something similar, since the Rule skill (or another method for manipulating & sharing records) is one of the requirements for creating a Faction.
      • Incidentally, the Rule skill's experience bonus works by sharing the Ruler's superior records (levels, skills, knowledge, etc) in order to allow the subordinate to make more effective use of their own records than they could have by themselves. This mechanic is first explained when the protagonist asks Erta how Heaven's Rewards are able to grant skills back when he encounters his first Overflow, and then again when Erza is explaining the normal process for becoming a higher existence. The gist of it is: By subordinating yourself to someone stronger than you, you can use their records as a "cheat sheet" in order to develop much faster, at the cost of losing a lot of your freedom to potentially grow in a new direction.
    • The Cross Bag's creation was closer to a permanency'd spell (specifically, an angel's Inventory) than magic item crafting; this is why it was possible to stack multiple features, why the protagonist was never asked to help when features were added to it, and also why the bag never received a Rare/Unique/Epic/etc. rank.
    • The 1000 year time stop at the beginning of the story occurs because the protagonist inherited his father's affinity for time magic, which synergized with Heaven's attempted time stop. The author points this out after Ymir's 1000 day temporal acceleration happens, but it's easy to miss.
      • Incidentally, the protagonist's (untapped) aptitude for time magic and his max-level concealment skill are the only things inherited from his parents; everything else was his own effort.
    • All other "plot holes" that I've seen mentioned in other reviews are explicitly explained in the text, so... all I can really say is "Stop skimming!"
[collapse]

REASONS TO HATE THIS STORY:

    • Humorous and self-aware banter, filled with meta jokes and references
    • Overpowered protagonist and power creep like you wouldn't believe. The main character's deductive skills and intuition are also borderline supernatural
    • Parts of the story won't fully make sense until the ending reveal. (this is the reason a lot of the one star reviews claim "plot holes")
    • Harem
    • Most characters are relatively simple, and the harem is, while not implausible, certainly improbable
    • Humanity is painted in a somewhat rosy light, MC gets pretty lucky in a few places, and relatively few named allied characters die, so story may not be adequately edgy for you if you're used to grimdark

Great novel, just love it.

If you're tired of those typical JN and CN novels and are looking for something refreshing and satisfying then this novel is for you.

Yu Ilhan is a loner. He gets OP early and creates OP artifacts to steamroll most of his enemies. Since MC creates his own artifacts people shouldn't complain about him using OP artifacts. Some people are complaining about the reason why he was left behind on earth for 1000 years after reading 20-30 chapters, don't be s*upid everything is explained as story goes... more>> so stop complaining when you haven't read the whole thing yet. There is reason for his OPness and its rightly justified in the story.

This is not a apocalypse novel, it is about earth being upgraded so stop complaining about the seriousness of the story.

Its mostly a light hearted and comedy story but there are serious moments when needed.

MC starts out as a loner with a useless angel and there is no nakama nonsense either. His character develops as the story goes. Other characters besides MC are not left behind as they constantly gets screen time and develops with MC unlike some novels. Romance is good too.

Give it a go and please read at least 100 chapters before you give ratings to this novel. Highly recommended. <<less

Overall:

MC is Crazy OP. Fight scenes are pretty detailed. Romance is more on the girls' side with a small mention from the MC. If a monster is on par with the MC whom has trained for a very long time.... Then humanity is F * * K E D. He's a blacksmith, swordsman-HE'S BASICALLY EVERY CLASS.

Ratings:

Plot: 3. Yeah, it's interesting, but like.... A human suddenly pops up with a skill that makes him "semi-invisible." Humans..... Come on... Face-palm. Angels..? Double face-palm. Did the author have nothing else to come up... more>> with?

The world makes sense. I like the pre-text of the world though. Everyone has to go train in other worlds, because a calamity is about to befall on Earth and they can't train on earth, hence why the plot is rated kind of high.

MC: 0. Do I even? He's OP. All he's gonna do in this novel is win, win and WIN, but then slightly face a delay.

Romance: ---. I'm biased on romance in action novels. I hate harems even more in them, since they tend to deviate from the action, but this... It's as if the author stuck in a small fanfic of someone and the MC into the story... And then a small one liner from the MC, "I miss (Name)...." -_- But whatever, romance isn't too important. I always skip it anyways. <<less

Quite polarized reviews, looks like.

Let’s add another one!

Of the dozens of novels I’ve read, this is one of the few that I’ve given 5 stars. I started following it way back when, before it became popular *buffs nails pretentiously*, and I’ve enjoyed it without knowing or worrying about what other readers think about it. I’ve loved it the entire time, and I don’t think I’ve ended up regretting a single one of the MC’s decisions, or the story’s directions.

Both novel and MC are extremely genre savvy, which the novel continually lampshades then challenges. Yu Ilhan’s very clever about using his skills and resources. For many other novels you think, “Pssh, if I was in the MC’s shoes, I could do better, ” but that’s not the case with Yu Ilhan. He’s intelligent and tenacious and knowledgeable, sure. But more than that, he’s learned to learn. Other characters have distinct personalities as well, and every bit of dialogue is believable. Humor, action, and plot progression are constant things, too.

If I have to criticize the novel, it’s that its character base has grown beyond its ability to manage, so characters, new and old, are losing depth. The latest characters have had very little screen-time after their introductions. A longer-running issue is that, given how fairly high-leveled characters have to kill thousands of similarly leveled enemies to advance just one more level, high-levelled beings shouldn’t really exist, especially in their numbers. There might be an explanation that I’ve missed or that the author will give later, though. He’s dependable like that.

This novel have a good start, then slowly fades away. This present random events, with no real direction, infinite godlike power up, random arcs from nowhere, plot holes, and chappy jokes.

The MC is too bland, dense and boring. The firs time you can say: badass MC, but with the time, is s*upid. He is OP with MaryeSue-ness, and you don't why. You have lack of character interaction, and forgettable side characters. You cant expect suspense o tension, and cant take this seriously. If you like overrated generic Japanese novels (this... more>> is Korean but serve yourself), with the only plot is glorify the MC and makes a Harem from nowhere, you can try this. <<less

I am a little confused... the complaints stacked on this novel are... well, baffling. Being unable to know exactly what was going through the minds of the people down-voting the novel, I can only draw conclusions from what they've written. And my conclusion is thus: They either just skipped through the novel, or the little things went over their heads.

Most of the complaints about missing explanations for events and so on are unfounded as the explanations were right there in literal black and white (or white and black if... more>> read on Kobatochan), not to mention the other things. Ah well, that's enough said, I'm here to say what I think about the novel.

The novel is refreshing. It's like a dish... all the components of the meal right down to the plate are the same, but somehow, whether just by the way the ingredients were cooked and the final meal presented... somehow, it's really refreshing. Also, I like the fact that the MC is both subtle and blunt at the same time. What I mean is that his words, actions, and thoughts are blunt and simple, but it is through those very same "what you see is what you get" words, actions, and emotions that we get a glimpse of the complexity of his character... the story untold if you will.

Granted, a reader might miss those subtle cues, and that's fine. The overall rating of the novel shows that despite all claims to blandness, our MC is a unique little cookie all in his own right.

PS: As proof of my first paragraph, I'm sure there are some that will simply glance through the previous line and move on

PPS: As the novel continues, I will update my review as my view on it changes. Cheers <<less

To me, this wasn't bad nor good, just average. What you got here is an MC which, in my opinion gets too much hand-holding.

What's special about MC? He's not that noticable. That's all, hence "God" forgot to include him on a list, which in turn made him being stuck on Earth, all alone and for some reason, God decided to give him special treatment just because of this, sending an angel to guide him and the special treatment continues. Why though?

It's like the MC is the "chosen one" and everything... more>> is handed to him, there's no luck, fight for treasure or the like. Shortly after the humans come back to Earth, he gets another Angel to help him out because his previous angel had basically said so, even though she had (assumingly) low status amongst her peers, and for some reason God agreed with this?

The hand-holding is strong and tons of special treatments for the MC, I just couldn't get into it, since it was all given to him on a silver platter.

And the MC's own special ability to be "concealed" is pure bull, as it works in any way possible as the author sees fit. Being unnoticed one second, the next not so much. It's all very inconsistent, as it has no definition of what it can, and can't do.

The biggest gripe I have wíth this novel is that, the MC is supposed to be the biggest genius considering his time spent training /reading ALL THE BOOKS IN THE WORLD and his mental age of 1k+ years, but none of this has really changed him much or is reflected in his actions. 1000 years is a long ass time, it's bound to mature or change a person, but not this MC, Nope.

This novel is quite average, it still feels fresh though, but I see nothing to really elevate the novel above the average mark. <<less
