Insanely Pampered Wife: Divine Doctor Fifth Young Miss

Description

Links are NOT allowed. Format your description nicely so people can easily read them. Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.

She was the Fifth Young Miss of the revered General’s Residence, but was seen to be useless as tr*sh. Promiscuous and flirtatious to a fault, she was finally killed by mistake under the hands of the attendants of the man she was chasing; She was a genius favoured by the Heavens but ultimately mu*dered by an insidious plot and all who shared her bloodline pursued and exterminated which caused her to lust for revenge to be paid in blood. The day the genius had unwittingly taken up the body of that useless tr*sh and opened her eyes, her fate had completely changed!!!

Refining elixirs and the smelting of weapons were tough?
That did not daunt her.

Beast Tamers were rare?
She had easily gained the title of Emperor Beast Tamer!

Forced marriages!?
Men being arrogant because they are good looking?
She stretches her hand out and easily pulls devilishly handsome men to her: The Demonic King brothers would easily take their place. A devilish glance, a slight shimmer of movement, and that man would suddenly disappear the next moment. He turned back around, his devilish smile alluring: “Let’s continue with the topic, let’s have a child!”

This is another interesting story with transmigrating and very fun filled characters that will delight you.

An all-around expert MC.

She's not just a DIVINE DOCTOR.

Seems like all the expertise is just in her palm.

It gets tiring along the way.

I didn't see the part of "INSANELY PAMPERED" since both MC & ML are both busy in getting stronger.

I stopped reading after chapter 1321 but she's not yet a "WIFE".

Since I read much faster in English, I stuck with the translation for a few weeks but the updates are on the slower (but steady) side so I decided to read ahead with the raws last night. This should be a 4.5 rating, if I had the option. The writing style is fairly crisp, the story flows at a good brisk pace and my favorite part is that I love the ML so far! He is so self absorbed and evil!! I definitely prefer cunning sneaky-type female leads but when... more>> I come across those, they are usually paired with cold but inwardly passionate (only to female lead) and lovesick/devoted MLs. Their personalities are pretty one dimensional. I haven't read far enough yet to determine but this guy is showing some good promise so far. The MC is okay, the fact that she cross dresses keeps things interesting but I wish she were more intelligent. The way she solved the only challenging problem she's come across so far (an illusion maze) was pretty disappointing. At one juncture, she even thought to herself that she's become more s*upid since she transmigrated--- I absolutely agree!! I hope she brightens up. I like her hardworking attitude. In some of these novels, the MC just comes across chance encounter after chance encounter-- well there is that here too-- but at the same time, you see her sweat and work hard to improve herself.

UPDATE: read further, its still a good read overall. I like how she improves gradually through hard work. The side character development is good, better than most novels. Unlike a lot of heroines, she shares almost all her secrets with her gang of friends. I do find it a bit annoying how she claims that she wants to be low key but then constantly shows off her different OP abilities. <<less

Regardles of how over-powered and mary sue the MC is, I like this novel very much, because :

    • MC has female friends which is rare in this female protagonist based c-webnovel. Even, there is some female beast/spirit. The excessive s*upid jealous female antagonist is less than any other novel. Idk why some novel (even though it's FP based novel), they seems against female a lot which is kind of ironic. But this novel is different cause I can see the effort to put some female side character on good light. (I'm quite happy with this)
    • The MC has likeable personality. I like it when she doesn't go rampant killing anyone and still has the moral and logic to forgive. Not a petty character, indeed.
    • The romance budding may be slow. But this is a good thing cause the MC focus more on cultivation, to be more stronger, expanding and deepen her network and relationships, developing her own character etc.
    • It's well-written with various schemes and ideas. Even though those are quite clich among xianxia/wuxia/xuanhuan novels. And I have to admit the converstation flow is a bit stiff but still enjoyable to read
This is what I conclude after reading till chapter 306. Too bad, the translation will be slower or stopped due to an issue.

Think about everything you enjoy in all your favorite stories. You will probably find it here. Transmigration? Got it. Gender Bender? Got it. Genius OP? Got it. Super cheats? Got it. Handsome powerful ML that fall in love in a blink? Got it.

The MC is everything you can imagine. Its so absurd that sometimes I think she is a powerpuff girl: power, luck, and every single cliche. I mean... The ONLY ONE with THAT ability, with THAT UNIQUE beast and with a matrix learning speed. She have it all. Hidden... more>> in a "cinderella s*upid-to-genius" girl disguised as a boy because, sadly, she can't let anyone learn about this amazing secret (not doing a great job so far). Sometimes I think the main purpose of the novel is show how incredible is this MC is.

And, thats okay, I love it all, but... Its too much. I mean, I love meat, strawberry cake and pasta, but I don't eat it all together.

So, yeah, I can resume my review in two words: too much. Too much cliches, too much OP.

Lacks work in the intellectual and strategic part of the story. It is too superficial and the outcomes are predictable. And I think that if she gets more unique / powerful abilities, she will become Goku.

Let's see what happens... Still waiting for the insanely pampered wife divine doctor part of the title. <<less

This can be considered a decent novel. However, if you're looking for a novel like black bellied miss or other novels in that genre, you'll be disappointed. This is through and through a cultivation novel more akin to stuff like chaotic sword god or battle through the heavens. I was personally thrown off by the title. While there's nothing really special or unique about the novel, (time traveling soul PLUS another second chance soul, as confusing as that is, medicine/pill forging/array master, etc.), it's not a bad novel in... more>> any way. The fact that she was an assassin literally never comes up again after like the 20th chapter or so. Such a pointless origin story in which the author was just following a trend.

I would give this novel a shot if you want more of the same but with a female MC, although she hides the fact she's a female 99% of the time and also never seems to act or "think" from a woman's point of view. Like, there's no feminine hint to the way she thinks. You could swap her in for a male mc's name and anything she says or does would still seem normal and fitting as a man.

EDIT: I came back to give it another shot 5 years later, and the translation has only gotten worse and worse. I'd say about 30% of the time, the translator gets the gender of ALL characters wrong. They also get the names of characters wrong even more so as it goes along, and even constantly use the wrong words. It's as if they thought "Well, the correct word starts with a C, so we'll just use a random word that starts with a C" and the sentence is something like "They clothes do that" instead of "They could do that". Happens way too much, to the point where I've had to put the novel down about 30% into it. Might not seem like much, but this is a HUGE novel.

I'm dropping my score to a 2 out of 5 for both translation and story. <<less

Too much op, irrealistically op.

Lack of strategy and character consistence. The MC is sometimes depicted as s*upid and sometimes "smart" or what the author thinks smart should be. When the other characters praise the MC as "smart", the reader already would have expected this outcome; more common sense than true intelligence. It doen't make the reader go "wow that's a plan". Even more so when her third brother was labelled as "the smartest of her brothers" for actually noticing her obvious changes.

The MC fortuous encouters and talents are all unreasonable,... more>> they just become heavy.

The characters interactions all seem too 2D or even 1D; just there to hail the MC or act as villains.

The epitome of nonsense was when the MC showed her particular rank-advancing beast taming art and no faction came to make trouble for her to gain that art although assumably many from the highest realms and ancient times fought with claws and teeth for it.

One more thing, the ranks are all messed up; one time her grandfather is the spirit paragon, one time a saint spirit; one time there was no paragon in dong cheng. At this point it doesn't even matter since all it wants to show is MC awesomeness and raising cultivation. No worthy opponent; you want to make her a genius ? Ok, but know how to do it. Furthermore, really she doesn't feel like an assassin; not even like junmo xie for example (and this is already a cheap example if you ask me).

Anyway, it is still better than that black belly miss junior doctor wathever. <<less

Excellent story. MTL'd the whole thin thru, which says something, because usually I hit the 1000+ mark on MTLs and get bored even if I like the story. This one I didn't.

The MC and ML are both great, especially the latter. Ruthless and yet super sweet to the MC. Their relationship was great. The little friends of the MC were also a good part of the story. Really like that the novel included so many family and friends relationships rather than the ubiquitous ruthless-no-friends-kill-everyone-who-offends-me type. Which leads to really the... more>> only drawback of the novel... too many side characters who have no impact on the novel.

There are arcs in which you meet characters who seem like they will affect the story, but then you get to the end of the novel and go, "wait, what happened to them". Even some of the main side characters have endings that feel rushed and that's the only part that really kind of disappointed me. The story itself has great transition and action, you never feel really bored and the author keeps you very engaged. Probably one of the best stories I have read in the aspect of pacing. Just at the end, you feel like there is so much invested in the characters, main side characters included, that when they get a short wrap up at the end, you're left wanting more. Even the MC and ML.

But definitely don't let that keep you from reading, because even left a little wanting at the ending, you still greatly enjoy the ride. It's just that it's one of those stories that you enjoy so much that it's disappointing when it's over and I felt that the ending could have been more fleshed out. But that's just in comparison to the rest of the story, not that you're really left hanging. Definitely worth reading! <<less

This story has a lot of problems. It's not that well-written and it's stretched out up to 2319 chapters - that's a lot of unnecessary chapters if you ask me. I tagged this as completed because the author dropped the story when it should be completed in 3-4 chapters more. I should give this 2 stars, but I've been reading this story for a long time already (I was waiting for the translated updates, but then got tired of waiting ang mtl'ed the rest), so I'm a little attached; hence... more>> the additional star.

The FL and the ML are OVERPOWERED. They know everything! You just know that everything will be resolved by these two in the end so there's not much suspense in the plot. I finished this novel a few weeks back so I forgot the details already. Give this story a try IF and ONLY IF you have a lot of time on your hands. <<less

Out of all the typical assassin transmigration FMC, she had the most realistic personality for me. I mean, she's cold when she kills, right, that's understandable because she was an assassin but she's still humane and girly for me as she strives to make friends, she has her own relatable hobbies and she does not immediately know everything. Yes, they did not put that fantsy tag for no reason also because of all that overly partial superpowers and the use of magic and all. The MMC does not follow her... more>> all the time and she grows on her own. This is like a combination of DKC, GDBBM, GT:7THYM.

SECOND EDIT:

As the chapter progresses, the story will get a LOT of humor as the MC will also get narcissistic (not in a bad way but you will find it humorous as her friends and the people around her will react to it.). It's also great how the story does not tend to revolve and is absolutely not a Revenge Novel with extra 2D antagonists. <<less

My favorite part of this story is, quite frankly, the side characters that accompany Sima Youyue on her journey. The interactions between all the characters are fun, engaging, and the camaraderie is one of the best parts of this novel.

That being said, I like how this book is called "Insanely Pampered Wife" but I'm almost halfway through the raws and she ain't nobody's wife yet LOL.

Anyways I do like the overarching plot line of the story, and I honestly like how overpowered the MC is (I know others might not... more>> like this, but I'm all about that OP MC life yo. Please beat everyone up, MC.). The ML is not very prominent, to say the least, until later on in the story. He basically like doesn't even make many appearances in I'd say the first 1/4th of the book? So if you were hoping for intense romance right away, you're not gonna get it. But who cares? The romance takes a bit of a back seat, yes, but honestly I was too busy getting into pretty much every other aspect of the story to care, and this is someone who usually prefers to read a romance first and a literally anything else second.

I also find that a lot of times, in these types of stories, you just don't get to see a lot of fun side characters. It's usually just people who hate the MC and love the ML and wanna wreck the MC for no particular reason other than the fact that she has the ML's eyes. But in this story you get a real sense of friendship between the MC and her family members and the people who travel with her.

But I guess I haven't read a lot of these stories where there's just a full band of people always accompanying the MC through thick and thin. It's probably my favorite part of the story, which is why I highly recommend this story. <<less

This looks like another one of those typical assassin-transmigrates-to-ancient-times-and-cultivates tropes, but this is one of the better ones I've seen and it is actually more than that. It has more tales and twists than the typical, average ones and a bigger story. It also explores her background a little more.

What I love most about this is her love for her new family and friends. Her friends are actually not just one of those flat characters that follow the MC wherever she goes. Surprisingly, they also have their own shocking and... more>> dark stories and a couple of them could have easily been the MC of their own story. It's almost like multiple MC transmigrators in one.

Fair warning: the male lead doesn't come much. That doesn't mean that he doesn't come at all, just not every single arc. But I'm fine with that because if he did, some of my favorite arcs would not have happened. <<less

Starts off the same as any other novel in this genre: an assassin dies and reincarnates into a good for nothing girl. The only minor difference is that the MC uses an illusion ring to hide her gender and dresses as a man. At this point in the story MC has just removed the poison and has yet to begin cultivating. I can't wait until she becomes op and gets revenge on those who 'killed' her. One other thing I like is that her family members genuinly care for her... more>> unlike other novels where there just as bad as the villains. <<less

This novel had a similar vibe with "Black Belly Miss". Both had transmigrated MC and a powerful ML who came from a devil clan. MC also had several companions who accompanied her to her journey but...

Spoiler

... sadly, her companions mostly accompanied her in the lower realm. When they went to upper realm, MC often left them to do her mission alone, apparently because they're "too weak" and it would be dangerous for them to tag along with her. Later, their appearance along side MC got reduced to almost none and MC kept making new friends along the way but her new friends too didn't appear again after they served their purpose. It's a pity though because there were several characters who were worth developed.

[collapse]

The story was okay. It's entertaining and I could last more than 2000 chapters without getting bored. The translation could be better though.

As for the ending, it's a bit unfulfilling. Because there were so many characters, it's inevitable that some of them would be forgotten and wasn't even mentioned in the ending, like:

Spoiler
  • What about Little Tu? After the Sage Pavilion destruction, he never appear again and MC seemed to forget about that adopted little brother of hers.
  • Why did Wei Zi Qi seemed to be depressed about something when he drank tea with MC alone? Did he love MC or was there something else?
  • What about the other Sima family in the lower realm? Why after so many years passed by, no one ascended again to the upper realm?
  • What about Sima You Lin? Why did the divine realm people forcibly take him as a disciple? Was there any specific reason?
  • What about Mu Si? What would happen after his tribulation? Would he come back to MC's world or would he live till he died in his current world? And what about his grievance with Dark Dragon guard?
  • What about Bei Gong Tang and Ouyang Fei? Did they ever get married after so many years?
  • What about Halcyon and Rainbow? Did they become a husband and wife for real?
  • What about Hai Xi and Hai Xing? They're never mentioned again after MC came back to human realm.
  • What about helmsman Tao? He said that MC would meet again but till the end, theye never meet again.
  • What about Qin Mo, Feng Zhi Xing, An Lei, Di Zhe, etc?

I used to LOVE this novel. I like the FL's character, and yes she's unrealistically OP but which FL of these type of stories isn't? Plus I like how the author lets the FL defeat others herself instead of letting the powerful ML come in, in fact ML is pretty much non-existent for most parts of the novel. And when he appears he's likeable too. The relationship of the FL with her families and her many friends and sidekicks are great too.

Bad points:

Before criticising I would like to say I... more>> understand this story is of the typical 1000+ chapters xuanhuan genre with hundreds of side characters, so this will somewhat be targeted at such stories as a whole.
There are way too many characters and realms and places which prevented further development for me to feel attached to any of the characters. Even the original friends the FL started out with, some of them just disappeared halfway and when they reappear again I don't even remember who they are. Even the author themselves forgot the existence of some of the characters throughout the story. Due to this there are MANY plot holes, but I guess we have to empathise with the author as there's just way too many chapters. Then again, yes I understand that this is the typical characteristic of such novels. However I felt more could be done for some of the stronger characters.

It's reasonably good for a xuanhuan novel, but not exactly for a NOVEL novel which is why I gave it a 3/5. For a novel of its genre I would probably give it close to a 4/5, if you like xuanhuan novels you should enjoy it. <<less

I actually really like this. It follows pretty much the same trajectory as the Xianxia novels typically aimed at boys, but for girls. There's the same train-fight-train routine and the level skipping protagonist, but what do you expect from a novel like this? Being over-powered is one almost of the defining traits of this genre.

The host of side-characters aren't really developed and occassionally get forgotten about by the author, but you can feel the MC's affection for them. Unlike other novels, the MC truly cares about her family and they... more>> play a very central role in her life, following along with her (even the grandpa!) as she ascends to higher and higher realms. The four friends she sets out with aren't abandoned half-way through the adventure for a set of higher-powered carbon-copies, and there's very little time when they're not together. I LOVE this dynamic, and that the MC is not the "lone ranger" but a person with real and true human relations.

The MC's personalities is also a strong point for me. Yes, she can be ruthless and money-grubbing (looting corpses), but she's also kind and humble; an arrogant woman demanding they give up their room at an inn - the MC's cool with it and acquiesces; old man gets the herb slightly before she does - she doesn't contest it and gives him a warning that the area is dangerous; someone apologises on behalf of their unruly sect - if it's sincere, she'll accept it; she gets a herb but the guardian beast looks sad - she feels sorry and tosses it a fruit.

I'm not claiming she's the kindest person in the world - she certainly doesn't hold back when someone touches her bottom line, but she's not the unreasonable - you offended me and I don't care for you apology, now die - sort either. Honestly, it's refreshing.

In short, this novel has really exceeded my expectations. The amount of truly loving relationships, the MC's personality, the pacing (not too fast, not too slow) are all really good, if the side characters could have just a bit more definition so I knew who all the "Sima You -somethings" were, it'd be perfect :)

Note on the whole transmigration/reincarnation thing:

Spoiler

She reincarnated/transmigrated into Sim You Yue's body, but before her life on Earth, she was previously from the same world. So basically the timeline goes something like:

Original body on Earth was killed -> soul reincarnated to the fantasy world -> that body (Ximen You Yue) was killed -> reincarnated into Sima You Yue's body

She remembered her memories from Earth, but not from being Ximen You Yue because her soul was harmed as she died so she completely forgot about the "extra" life she lived between Earth and now. Or some such.

In my opinion, the tittle of this novel is quite misleading and not match with its story so far. But I love this novel so much. For me the heroine is the coolest heroine among other stories I've read.

I like her personality, she's very cool, easy going, laid back, friendly, and no doubt a super genius, she can do EVERYTHING!!!! Basically, OP heroine. But I like how she's really diligently studying by reading books to learn all abilities and skills that she mastered. That's just show how genuinely intelligent... more>> she is. This story is also very funny. I love the friendships she has with her best friends, their deep bonds. Her interactions with her family and friends. Seeing their interactions, jokes, bonds, sometimes makes me feel like reading Harry Potter. I got the same feeling.

Spoiler

And she travels with her best friends which makes it different with the other loners form other stories.

[collapse]

Spoiler

She has to dressed as a guy so I somehow wish for girls to fall for her because he's just so laid back and cool at the same time as she can do a.n.y.t.h.i.n.g Lol.

Spoiler

And as I said, she can do everything, not only she is an alchemist, a Doctor, a beast tamer, an array master, very good in martial art even genius in cooking, lol. And she has so many powerful beasts since she's a beast tamer.

The story is also funny and very entertaining. The ML doesn't come out much. The romance is very slow in this novel, but I actually forgotten about it as I enjoyed every chapter very much. Surprisingly, as a hardcore fan of romantic stories, I don't really mind about it.

nevertheless... I highly recommend this story!

Hm. I put that I completed it, but in reality I probably only read through like 1/3 of the chapters, if that. Honestly, I don't know what's up. I used to love like GDBBM or BPSHW or EEWC or whatever and like totally blew through them. Idk, I read through the 300 or so translated chapters and as I started reading through the raws, I was just... bored.

They don't actually get together until like almost chapter 1000, so I basically just skipped through based on the raws and the chapter... more>> titles to around chapter like 880 or something when the romance would actually start. I'm sure previously she would have been annoying about MS and WLY and other things, but after the fusion the ML became one and we were good. So yeah there was some romance and I was satisfied. But there's just so much drama going on, and they separate, and it gets boring again real fast. So I just kept skipping around. Love the parts when they are together (probably if you add all of the words up it would come to a whopping total of like 6 chapters) and the kids. The antagonist in the later parts was just really irritating, especially since she gets conflicted and then there always has to be some huge drama at the end about the MC/ML basically dying and then someone sacrificing for them or whatever. A couple of the epilogue stories are cute, but I would have liked to see more of the MC and ML together. Also the extras about the daughter and her probably going back in time made almost no sense. The ending is not done that well.

Also I prefer to have smart and OP MCs, and even though she does have massive talent and is usually quite strong, from the first parts she really seemed quite dumb and unaware of anything and blamed it all on her being unfamiliar with the new world. Uh... like if you went to a new world, would you not like spend a couple days just reading up about it? I feel like that would probably be the smart thing to do right?? I also think that she often does not think things through all the way, and all of her genius is probably just spent on being able to learn things. She is OP relatively, but there are just so many enemies that she gets severely injured or almost dead or threatened by, which is always true and frankly quite disappointing.

I would probably give this a 3.5 instead of a 4, but I usually don't give 3s unless I really didn't like the book. So it's a 4 star. <<less

The story is somewhat most similar to Genius Doctor: Black Belly Miss mixed with Battle Through The Heavens. However, compared to the other two, this isn't that good. :/ I guess one reason is because MC seems to lack character and her "care/love" for family/friends seems very forced. It just seems like MC just doesn't fit in the world and it feels that her relationship with [some] are forced. Her "pet" is just all over the place and quite annoying. Very disappointed.

So, I dont know what is up with the second half of the synopses on here, but I like this story so far. I font like FMCs that are forced into marriages and basically just do whatever the guy tells them. A MCM has been introduced and he is an ass, but she seems to hate him so far. I am a little worried this will become her being wooed by the hero and not actually acting like an independent person, but so far it is quite good. It feels... more>> similar to stunning edge to an extent currently and is quite enjoyable. I would give it a solid 4 stars on the chapters that have been translated as of this review. <<less
