I really like reading novels with a cheat ability user MC but most of those novels includes transmigration, other world and rpg elements which I'm getting fed up with and I was glad I found this novel and decided to start reading! The modern setting is really refreshing for me since most novels I found is wuxia or xianxia i.e.

So far my evaluation of the novel is that it's great, the part where the cheat wasn't that super OP and appears with no definite time is, for me, a... more>> great thing! And how the MC is really hardworking made the novel better! <<less

I want to rate it 5 star... but may change in the future if the M.C turn out to be some Jap. Char. Dense to the point of wishing they drop the novel.

His ability is not O.P as he is aware that the future is something bendable. Hard work, talent and luck is a variable

In the present, the story keep the readers curious. Creating anticipation on what results have been change on his foresight (for example the change of the Protagonist On the t.v program)

Wish that the translation... more>> can keep up with the heat of anticipation that it built up within me.

P.S In case romance is interjected I hope that the b*tchy Harem thingy and the cutesy pansy thing not to happen. In case it happen I wish they don't over do it. I may drop the novel if thats the case.

Overall keep up the good work. <<less

It is safe to say that I enjoy this novel. Having premonitions of the future does guide his actions and the choices the MC makes. But it doesn't make him OP as he needs still needs to work hard for that future to happen. His actions and the decisions of others affected by the premonition, could potentially change depending on how hard they have worked. It isn't set in stone just because he saw snippets of the future, he is pretty much like a lucky charm that has a nose... more>> for business. I recommend this novel for those who want a fairly easy to read story with characters that have personality that grows as the story goes along.

Looking forward to reading the rest of the novel! <<less

Quite good novel, MC isn't that OP due to his foresight, he gets some hints but must solve the puzzle alone, he is quite good guy and likes his work. Compared to I'm really a superstar I think this one is better, less cheat, and he prevents those shitty people from doing him bad things, unlike in IRAS where MC takes revenge on everyone (face smacking).

ahh it’s hiatus...

nevertheless the story is quite good it intrigues me of the idea, characters plot and moral message seems quite realistic despite its fantasy elements

worth to read to makes you seem to can’t stop reading once you started

it’s a pity, that it could’ve better ending than hiatus

Amazing!! Been so long since I've been sent on a rollercoaster of emotions like this... this novel had me laughing, crying, anxious at high stake scenes, cheering on (at the risk of looking like a lunatic in front of my family) for the characters ~

I read this knowing that there was a hiatus and the novel will prolly never be finished but I thought it wouldn't affect me much since I rlly wasn't expecting to be this attached to its characters, story and most importantly the lead our "lucky charm"... more>> himself, but WOW was I wrong after reading this novel my standards have definitely been elevated ~~~

Its worth reading 100% even when the abyss awaits us all by the end :/ <<less

This novel is by far the greatest novel I have ever read not just in the showbiz tag but of all time.

--THE GOOD--

1. THE CHARACTERS

... more>> All the characters in this novel could exist in the real world. That's how good the characters here are. They are not flat nor one dimensional. They actually have characters: ambitions, motivation, reasons, etc.

2. THE MAIN CHARACTER

Despite having an ability, the main character uses his wits to solve his and other's problems. He is not afraid to use any kinds of solutions wether good or bad. Surprisingly, this main character is also not dense, (or maybe he is I don't know I don't remember). He seeks help to those he needed and he knows the importance of connections and relationships.

4. THE ROMANCE/RELATIONSHIPS

The romance and chemistry in this novel is top notch. Every relationships formed smoothly and not forced. Although the romance is subtle, it is there and it is beautifully done.

5. THE REALISM

I can't say what is real or what is not since I am not that into K-POP as well as my knowledge of the country is limited. However, I can say for certain that the reactions of the people, how the situation would result, is definitely realistic.

--THE BAD--

1. THE HIATUS

f*ck the readers. If its not for you all this masterpiece of a novel could have been completed.

Despite being in hiatus, I still encourage you all to read it. Although it is painful, it is just a waste to not read it. With how famous Korea is, I believe that this novel will give you an insight on how their showbiz, on how idols work. <<less

You should read it.

Yes, despite it not getting any new chapters.

Really, it is so good that you should disregard the 4-year hiatus and read the 200 chapters.

I cannot imagine what were the then-Korean-fans thinking, causing the author to be traumatised and drop the novel. I feel bad.

It will leave you with a broken heart and a good memory.

Go ahead:)

The main character Sung Junwoo is a black belly MC, the clash in this novel is where he tries to act as if he were not. During his high school years he took care of the quadruplets and developed into a decent person. However, as he made his way into the field, got to know about the dirty side of the entertainment industry and the hypocrisy of people, he also rediscovered himself to be a much more ruthless person than he originally thought. A dark reality is discovered behind the... more>> cheery atmosphere, dark depressive thoughts haunt seemingly sweet characters. This is a novel of examining the heart of its characters. Not surprisingly, with a contrast to compare with of his future self and his present self, as well as his decisions he makes based on the futures he sees, he becomes increasingly aware of his true self a selfish, ambitious, and calculating person, who struggles to pull his instincts with the warmth he is provided from his members.
Spoiler

It’s an uncomfortable read, the adoration he receives from his prophet-like successes. His relationship with Neptune is sweet to a certain extent, but because of how unequal this relationship is, there seems to be an underlying power structure, the fact that he becomes exponentially more powerful with every success, makes his relationships with others suffer. Inferiority complexes sprout from both enemies and friends, and the MC struggles having to balance between the responsibility he carries from knowing an unknown future coupled with endless anxiety, and maintaining his world views through hardships and adversity. At some point it is inevitable that his relationship with Neptune start jarring, only to be patched up with a few emotional exchanges. His successes put a lot of pressure on his life, and he occasionally crumbles under that pressure, only to remember it is the path he chose, and getting back up again.

[collapse]
This was unexpectedly, a novel which weighs heavily in the psychological genre, no one is completely a white or black, but mostly different shades of grey. Sung Junwoo desperately works to not become the sort of person who his future self is, and has so far, never taken an irreversible, drastic action that crosses the line between being a good and bad person, restricting himself to threats when necessary and works hard relentlessly to make the best of every scenario, which is partly a reason to why the reader can’t bring themselves to judge him too harshly. Personally, I felt bile at the pit of my stomach many times when reading this novel, the realistic depictions of people as imperfect humans and the underhanded deals of the entertainment industry, those with prestigious positions constantly making a show of power and crushing talents in their paths were a common sight in this novel.I don’t know how I got so far into the novel, neither do I know when I started to feel this unpleasantness towards its characters, but I think it’s time to let go. I was hoping aimlessly for the characters to fix up their issues, but it’s clearly not happening anytime soon. I originally enjoyed the growth of its characters, but how do I say it. It’s not fun anymore. Yeah that’s it. It’s just not fun, the happiness of having the main protagonist succeed kind of gets eroded with all these and I can’t find the passion I started reading this novel with. I won’t say this novel is badly written, because it’s clearly not, the writing is decent, the plot is repetitive, but my issue was mainly with its characters coming off too heavy. However, I do understand everyone’s tastes can be different so, if you happen to like these kinds of stories then you’re welcome to try. I’m just putting this out there for people who mind these to find another novel to invest their time with. <<less

I don't normally read Korean novels so I understand that I'm not the target demographic. The premise however was interesting enough that despite having no interest in KPOP or even celebrity culture, the story was able to hook me in and make me care about the characters.

The side characters are all very likeable and the banter between them and the MC can be very fun. A lot of their struggles were relatable or at the very least understandable so it was very easy to engage myself in their stories.

However, you'll... more>> very quickly realise that just like all the other Korean novels, this one too is a power fantasy. As a result, there is no conflict for the MC. His future sight ability has literally no downsides. The MC sees a future vision, he acts in a way to ensure the future situation will occur, the future vision is now reality. This can get boring pretty quickly once you realise very quickly that nothing will ever go wrong for the MC or his friends.

As well as this, and what is pretty typical of this kind of fiction, is the absolute abundance of one note characters. I think I can blame the future sight ability that the MC has for this. Whenever the main character meets an important person, he'll have a vision that will show their 'true personality' and the MC will have a complete understanding of that person. This perception is never challenged and as a result you get characters that sit in two bubbles to him, good people and bad people. Good people are treated really well and succeed while bad people are spat on and kicked to the curb after they have enacted their evil deeds. It sounds corny because that's what it is.

Despite all the problems I had, I still got to chapter 107 and that was after dropping it initially a couple of months ago. That's a testament to the engaging writing (despite the meh translation). So I'd recommend a read even if you're like me and dislike the typical power fantasy and all the tropes that come along with it. <<less

One of my favorites of all time.

Although I enjoyed the first 150 chapters the most, I found this story to be simply too amazing!

Love the premise, and the non-op superpower. The relationships, and side characters are what makes this novel, together with the world of korean showbiz industry.

There is nothing I can say that 400+ 5-star reviews haven't said. That said, here I go.

The novel is so unapologetically fast and tight with its writing. Constantly moving, wants to show more and it never felt rushed. This flow state is addictive and just like that, you're 30 chapters deep and you haven't noticed. You'll root for the characters, trust me. They're all likable, even the villains have chemistry. My biggest complaint is the lack of more. It isn't the deepest or the coolest powers or the most intense;... more>> it's simply one of the best. <<less

Really enjoyed the story. It’s too bad the author dropped it. Perhaps he didn’t know how to finish the story. It’s still worth a read though. Wish he would have finished the current arc though.

Incomplete novel. And unlike "I'm Really a Superstar", it does not end in a good way. Otherwise, this would be 4.5 stars.

Another entertainment industry novel, this time from a management perspective. The arts come up a little short in this one, we don't really learn much in-depth about the songs or movies being produced. It's mostly about the "discerning eye", which project to pick, fights between managers, press scoops and scandals, and so on.

The start is a bit slow esp. If you're not into girl groups, which is MCs first... more>> project and stays present throughout the novel.

His cheat is interesting. He can see the future, but he can't control what he sees and when. So his glimpses are very unreliable, spotty and incomplete. He employs his own real talent and cunning and work overtime to maximize effects. If he ends up in a corner he has to get out of it by himself, unlike the other Superstar novel where MC just pops up his game ring whenever.

It's so good that I wish there were more chapters. <<less

Didn't expect a lot while reading this story, however while reading it I came to really enjoy it. This is one of my first Korean novels so I might be a bit biased however I really liked the premise of the story.

The Protagonist has a cheat like ability to see the future, earlier it is a really useful ability but later throughout the story it is really uncertain to how the ability works and if it will work even. He puts a ton of effort on his own since the... more>> ability really does not help him much and just shows him a few seconds of the future instead of just knowing what will happen, it also does not always tell him how the future happened so he has to figure it out on his own.

The protagonist is also a really likable MC which makes it better to relate to the story. The characters were really well developed and its just the writing style that can be a bit chaotic at times with how it can go from 1st Person to 3rd Person and sometimes getting confused on who is speaking what line but that's a minor issue.

Overall, a really enjoyable story that I wish it wasn't dropped by the Author. I had a fun time reading this and its a shame it wont be continued. <<less

i liked this novel very much but it crushed my soul a little bit from the middle to towards the end

it starts with quite a positive energy and I enjoyed that and then it started to delve into the darker side of humans such as;

Spoiler

turns out to be getting blackmailed and is trying to fight back with the little strength she has

-singer/actor becoming dependent on manager

i enjoyed the dive from happy to sad to heart twisting to a seemingly bright future. But god did I hate the ending, the writer cut the story 2 arcs to short because the story was getting repetitive with the shows/programs/actors but left many characters just before a diverging point in their lives where they will need to make tough choices.

anyway apart from the unexpected ending the story had me hooked it had interesting and unique characters with all characters making some character development just dont read if you want a happy story because this is not it <<less

It's a great novel. Though there are some issues when changing POVs suddenly and sometimes in chapter transitions, it's a good novel. Esp as the MC doesn't know everything in advance, so we are on tenterhooks about what will happen.

Waiting for hiatus to be over! Though it has been a long time hiatus, I hope the author will pick it up again !

Definitly a great novel which shows some aspects of entertainement industry.

Things like budget, communication planning, writers and the directors involvement, types of actors, power struggles between entertainment agencys/ TV channels (or movies productions..), failures and luck playing huge part, favors as well as scandals. It has a certain charm to hit though it's difficult to get a feel of how tiring of a job it is the writing is great and conveys it a bit.

The winning point is of course the mental struggle of MC when he gets a... more>> glimpse of his future, what kind of person he became? How did he become that? His relationships and way to success after the choices (at least those we read) he did. It's a huge plus.

This is really sad that it's in a indefnite hiatus, I hope the author is going to pick it up and do a great job, better a hiatus than continuing considering it seems a turning point. Which is why I stopped at c195, I know I wont be able to deal with my mind if it stops in this arc.

Overall it's great, a little strange the lack of s*xual favors, well I may be a bit biased here since I don't really know much about the industry.

Recommended 10/10 for those who can bear the hiatus. Or those who are looking for a good read just to kill time. <<less
