Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.Chu Yang, the Ninth Master of the Nine Tribulations Sword, sacrificed almost everything he had for the sake of improving his martial arts, including the love of his life. After spending three years locating the fifth fragment of the Nine Tribulations Sword, he was ambushed by all sides at that very place. Mortally injured with no means of escape, Chu Yang executed a sacrificial technique by plunging the Nine Tribulations Sword into his very own heart. “With the blood of my heart, ten thousand tribulations will collapse!”
After witnessing the death of all his ambushers, Chu Yang’s vision began to darken. At a distance, moments before his death, he saw the mastermind who had plotted his downfall — Mo Tian Ji. With that, his eyes finally closed.
However, with a start, Chu Yang once again awoke to find that he had returned to when he was sixteen years of age! Furthermore, the Sword Spirit of the Nine Tribulations Sword now resided within his Dantian, the energy center of his body! From that very moment, Chu Yang would then begin to right all of his past regrets, and carve his very own legend by fulfilling his destiny as the final Master of the Nine Tribulations Sword, and defeating the Heavenly Devils beyond the realm of the Nine Heavens Continent.

Would seriously recommend this novel if you are looking for something interesting and funny. Although, the MC have been scolding his subordinates for the past 30 chapters, each chapters of lectures is still funny and does not bores the reader. It is by far the funniest novel I have read after the legendary moonlight sculptors and world of cultivation.
-
- Side characters. They have their own personalities, and while I wouldn't go as far as saying they are 3 dimensional, 2.5D is better then most novels in this genre.
- Side romance. The side characters have romantic interests, so not all females are in love with the MC, the sworn brothers get a piece of the action, and in my opinion the better pieces, cause the MC's romantic life is a terrible mess.
- Enemies. The novel is not without arrogant young masters, but there are also some very interesting enemies who are motivated by things other than "I want your woman" or "I must be given face"
- Underneath all the bad stuff there is a good story being told, you just need to get through all the padding to get to it, it is an endurance game,
and I'm not sure yet if I will endure.
The Bad:- The romance was also badly done for the most part.... And it all goes back again to the unnecessary drama the author wants to place in the romance... Without all the sh*t drama it would be so much better.
Anyway, objectively i'd rate this novel 3 but it used to be one of my favorites so I'm giving it a 4 for making giving me some happy times. As for... more>>- Mostly solid plotting. Even though most of the MC's benefits are 'dropped from the sky'. there's still enough effort behind his actions to make it forgivable... mostly. There is a clear, ongoing story here (for the most part) and the progress and development is worth sticking with so far.
- Fair character development. Not much to say here- they're mostly likable stereotypes with one or two attributes. A few of them manage to be exceptional- to the point that the author actually ignores/suppresses them for large parts of the story.
The BAD:- Forced Plotting- Events or exceptions to events will magically pop up for the MC if the author wants to do a thing.

- Plot armor- MC has it. All his allies have it. Bad things don't happen unless they help the plot & the character can help it.
Spoiler

- Forced melodrama- certain 'romantic' complications are 'who does that unless they're a monster', plot convenient complications. They're dumb, and 'screw you' author for pushing that on us.

- Sexism- Somehow women are potentially equal in power- but still sexually controlled/repressed & never fight unless for comedic effect.
- Racism? Apparently there are no minorities in the world, nor do different clans look noticeably different from any other. They're all undifferentiable Chinese (I guess). Even so, The MC genocides bloodlines without a thought- so maybe 'clan-ism'?
Spoiler
[collapse]
- Ridiculous resource management- It always seems like the MC has entirely too much treasure (because he does) - but the author will insist it's not enough! It apparently takes a ton of the best quality herbs to make 1 pill or something.
Spoiler

- Magic harem- Yes, most girls love the MC, just cause.
- Borderline pedophilia- Luckily the activities never really cross the line- but the author is happy to communicate the sentiment despite the option to maintain some level of practical distance/professional clarity & just wait for her to grow up before salivating.
- s*upid slapstick- Yeah, this is a personal thing, where all the beatings between the brothers got tiresome real fast.
- Rampant Hypocrisy- The sentiments of the MC from a personal perspective, and based on personal experience, or empathy for his allies... means nothing compared to doing great injustice for personal gain. This is exemplified whenever the MC o his allies rob innocents (usually a paragraph in passing), or kill people for dubious/downright s*upid reasons.

The Different:So many examples- but the most blatant is when the 90, 000 year lock on traveling between the various layers becomes an inconvenience- then suddenly he can solo travel for a few months... (he can't bring anyone- but he can ride a horse through? Ok.)
No one dies until one of the brothers has the bloodline of the Phoenix- so he dies first- then repeatedly (since it's ok). Second death is the plot motivator to go do a thing, so 'that's ok- she'll be able to escaped death more after (as if she didn't suffer enough)...
The worst is the woman who has magic to look like a man who is mad at the MC for not loving her, and yada yada (ridiculous events) ends up pregnant with his child, and keeps it a secret because 'she doesn't want to burden him, etc. etc. the whole thing is ret*rded.
This mostly covers the various 'clan infiltrations' where no one knows who's who because there apparently are no family-distinguishing featurees EVEN THOUGH people are part dragon, phoenix, devil or whatever...
Not even gonna get into how EASY it is to him to gather all this fluff!
The worst is when the MC's brother gets married, and the MC uses it as an excuse to extort treasures out of all the clans there- threatening to purge any clan that doesn't come, or doesn't bring a gift- and breaking the legs of those who bring inferior gifts! Yep, that's right- and he's already loaded up on sh*t at this point as well!
- Nothing. It's just a better put together classic wuxia story. I guess if I have to stretch it, the whole 'everyone knows you're powering up (due to distinct stellar signs) ' then that qualifies- though it doesn't really change anything since people always were against him unless they can be his ally from the start.
Overall, it's a good read, with some classic wuxia nonsense still there, and a few extra 'to make the story go faster' things thrown in. Now and then a section will disappoint, but once you're past whatever 's*upid' the author did for a minute, you'll be fine. I don't know your taste, but in the end, it's probably worthwhile
