Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.Gu Jin, your average day-to-day worker, crossed into a novel as the supporting character and best friend and cousin of the female protagonist, Cheng Xin, who was frequently surrounded by men of status and quality. The two cousins believed they’d enjoy this friendship for a lifetime.
But soon, Gu Jin discovered that the body she had crossed into had memories of future events beyond the novel’s plot, including finding out that her marriage would end in utter failure. Her husband, the second male lead named Shao Chong, would neglect their marriage because of his infatuation for Cheng Xin. On the day that Gu Jin was kidnapped and beaten to death, her good husband stayed by her cousin’s side and accompanied her to the hospital.
When Gu Jin transmigrated into this novel world and learned of the truth, she refused to waste this new life as a supporting role for her cousin the way the previous soul had done. She refused to live her life as a spectator in someone else’s love story. No. She would be the protagonist of her own romance in this new life.

Disappointing?
Kinda dull? It's a weird story, it's filled with intrigue and set ups and plot devices that are just... shoved under the carpet as if none of them mattered. He's a "black bellied CEO" character but he never does a single thing that could be considered "black bellied CEO" worthy... it is implied and some things do happen, but they are not important and relegated to the background... a passing footnote on the story. I don't mind the characters interactions, I found all that funny in its own way, this isn't your regular "pink hearts and fluffy feelings" kind of couple and I really liked their characters, always at odds, trying to gain the upper hand over each other which was interesting, but then what was the point of the novel? None of the set ups had any kind of pay off, none of the plot devices had a satisfactory conclusion, there are some feelings of satisfaction when revenge was served but we weren't witness to the outcome of all this actions, the author just... forgot... that there were over 5 characters that had an impact on the novel and just shoved them aside. I kind of get it, because as the title implies she doesn't want to be part of the plot of the main novel... but when the main plot was removed the author didn't replace it with another plot... So we end up with a story that meanders on actions and emotions... but even the emotions weren't that interesting or outstanding... there is witty banter but you don't feel the chemistry they are supposed to be having. I know, this should be considered a critique on this kinds of novels... but what's the point of a novel that after removing the common set ups and plot devices just leaves them out and doesn't replaces them with anything??
I like that MC doesn't end up with that s*upid Shao guy. She also manages to stay away from practically everyone who caused original!her pain in the past life.
The alpha male lead blackmails her into dating for three months, since ML has the jade bracelet that is her family's heirloom ergo important. I don't think it was rational how the ML developed feelings for her. His first encounter with her was disdain and the next resulted in infatuation. The change from disdain to infatuation was too abrupt. I'd have preferred a slower burn with that kind of situation. Infatuation at first sight would have been more plausible for me.
Sure military, sure heir of Mu family, but I'm not gonna remember him.
