I read this novel because people said that wmw copied from it and hoped to have something nice to read and verify those accusations. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The novels are similar and the author of wmw was probably inspired by this novel, but wmw and TWW are worlds apart.

I would not recommend to read this novel. The story feels like it is a mix out of some important and a lot of unnecessary, irrelevant and boring pieces (~100 good chapters). The pacing/speed is also terrible and the slow start... more>> nearly brought me to quit the novel. The first 50 chapters are just arduous to get through.

Spoiler

Some negative things I remember from reading the novel:

    • The first ~150 have not really much to do with wizards and MC is just getting a better knight.
    • The MC of this novel is also just the Chip he has. Actually it is the same for WMW if you see it that way (chip = MC).
    • Angele is just as cruel as the MC of WMW. The author just tries to make him look better by throwing in some random sentence in, where MC seems to have some morals left. Furthermore is Angele changing his moral/principles/ethics as if he would have multiple personalities.
    • There are story parts drawing you into reading more followed by chapters that have no real value/meaning for the overall story or chapters breaking the pace. A good example is the war "arc" in the central continent that I liked a lot. After the "arc" the story falls into a swamp. Nothing is happening, the information one gets as a reader are not really important and the progression is nearly non existing. It is like a bag of rice falling down in China. Where is the value for the reader? Sometimes less is more.
    • The end "arc" is ridiculous and I keep myself asking multiple times, how the author is going to finish the novel with the few chapters that are left. There is not much progression until the last 10-15 chapters and the finale is somewhat rushed.
    • The author seems to forget really obvious things, like that the Shadow Realm is not working together with the Dark Wizard Tower.
    • The author leaves a lot uncleared. What happened to Arisma and Henn?
    • MC is sometimes s*upid. Nearing the end of the novel MC gets a mark of an Ancestor, that is supposedly bad for him the longer he keeps it. Now with this information MC decides to travel to a lot of "important" place he once was, start a war (why?) and "finish" things the author kept open (family, school, some friends), completely irrelevant to him because he already lived so long, that nothing is the same anymore.
    • The author writes about 13-14 year old girls in a le*d way.

PS: Do not read the reviews of people not having read a significant amount of chapter. Reading less then 100 out of 646 chapters and giving 5 star rating is ridiculous. <<less

This was the first novel I somehow made myself to finish for no apparent reason other than this was a novel that 'inspired WMW (one of my favorites). It feels like the Plagiarist took this novel and improved all aspects of this boring lackluster mess into a much better articulated and fun to read novel. There is nothing good in this novel. It is even worser than peerless martial god. I kept reading thinking itll get better and something exciting might happen. But let me warn you, this requires some... more>> real patience to read. I self tortured myself to finish reading this, especially the last 100 chapters. The MC not even a poorman's Leylin, the side characters are just meh. There shouldn't be a harem tag in this novel at all, as the guy just has few night stand and forgets about them. The only
Spoiler

person he really cares about is his "mommy" which isnt his real mom anyway. This piece of work is devoid of much sense. Don't even try the quality isn't there. If you want something like wmw try dungeon defense, or age of adepts.

Crappy MC and really hypocritical.

He stands around and harvests terror and takes stuff but that's fine because he didn't kill anyone! He just allied with monsters and followed them into the new world! Totally fine!

Then he has the cheek to lecture some crap monsters tearing off the belly of a ten year old about how life is important. This is after all the inhumane things he pulls and that's followed by inviting and proactively opening a portal for his monster allies into the world he transmigrated to.

Apparently he's still human... more>> because he "cares" about his "mother" and "friends", of which he ignores and/or makes full use of. The good thing is that he is aware he only cares about himself because he uses that as his excuse for all his crap. The antagonists were actually pulling together to CLOSE the portal to the monster realm and you really wish they would have done it and shoved the MC's face into a pile of dung but hey, the author is always ready to come up with new excuses

Apparently there's still 100+ chapters but the MC's crap is too much. Directly went to the last chapter. Form a author that whitewashes the MC, you can guess the last chapter already <<less

The Wizard World is a thrilling and compelling tale of a morally upright man who soul transfers into the body of a young, playboy noble.

Spoiler

He refuses to have s*x with teenaged girls who are very obviously trying to seduce him because despite having a 14yo body, he has the mind of a 20yo and it's therefore very immoral to do so. A little groping is fine though.

He then proceeds to train his body, commit snake genocide, go 1-on-1 with an assassin, and engage on an 11-person killing-spree without the slightest hint of an afterthought. Nothing, he felt nothing wrong after killing a total of 12 people.

He also caused the execution of 2 guards because he sent them away so that he can have a secret duel in the forest with the aforementioned assassin and thereafter came back with heavy injuries. He then blamed a bear for the very obvious sword injuries. Everyone believed him.

"He felt forlorn and a little scared" is the combined total weight of the 2 people that he led to death. He did not even speak up for them. 5 mins later, he is teary-eyed because his equally mu*derous "father" is about to take revenge on the bear (which was originally innocent) for him.

Twisted morality aside, if you compare the plot of this novel with a block of swiss cheese, you will find that they have an equal number of holes.

If you want an actual thrilling and compelling isekai story of a high-function sociopath, go read Supreme Magus, also on QI/Webnovel. Com. This is an original so it's not on NU.

Spoiler: Completed both TWW and WMW.

Spoiler

Some say that author WMW read TWW. SO there are similarities. But lets be honest: Its not like TWW created its own theme, level system or even f*cking world. It was based on countless other works, and I kinda doubt if there was anything original other then naming and small details.

Then again WMW use multiple other "ideas" (not really), and even part "similar" was written better then TWW.

My own opinion on TWW: Decent early, then passible, cliché later and chaotic (at best) in other 2/3 of novel. Seriously, more then 400 chapters I had no idea what the f*ck happen. World was unclear, "strength" of MC was ambiguous, he created spells at random, fights were... strange, advancing even so, story too. Oh and ending was super rushed.

To be fair, I read ~300ch only because, for week I had almost no connection or was traveling. So it was with half-attention, expecting nothing.

All above are reasons for 5/10.

This is a long rant.

Okay I'm going to start off by saying I have almost fully read WMW. I think the writing for the book is amazing but I literally hated the main character. Which is okay because I think that's really the point. He is an emotionless bastard, but a pretty damn good one. The reason I mention this is because everyone and their mother is rating this book well; because WMW supposedly copied it (okay not everyone but I've seen enough). I find that believable (and probably unintentional)... more>> in the fact that sometimes authors are influenced or grow based on what they read, but the amount of differences and quality are huge.

The character for this series is wholly psychotic. He says he is a regular person from far into the future, but sometimes he feels emotions (like a regular person) and other times he is just heartless (like a serial killer). Someone who has grown up in a peaceful time without some form of psychosis would not become this way. Now lets say he is bipolar or psychotic, obviously (at least to me) he would know because advanced medical knowledge from the future should be able to diagnose him. In this case he should only get worse as time goes by (from not having his medicine or something) but that doesn't seem to be happening. There are only certain events where his morality shows either being extremely modern (not immediately doing the girls) or extremely psychotic (finding fun in killing people). The only explanation I could have is that the host personality is bleeding into his own (which would account for his semi-bipolar but not quite split personality behavior).

Spoiler

Him seeing his father killing his guards as love and being naturally afraid of his father could elude to this. However I can't really say that accurately because we do come from a different time period. I can say could not watch people being killed by my mother for following my orders and think 'aw she loves me'. I would be thinking I'm so sorry what have I done oh god someone save them I'll take care of your families because I don't want to die. Though I think from the beginning I would be running to my parent for praise every time I got stronger. Just to see if I could get him to buy me better equipment or a better allowance.

[collapse]

From the beginning he seems to be an actor incapable of staying in character. All in all the character setting seems bad (in my taste), but the reason it has one star is the fighting. The ease by which he gains his powers is to the point I can not find it in me to like this (as far as I have read). I will continue to read and by the time I get to the end I might change my mind but the first two fights are leaving me underwhelmed to say the least.

Spoiler

p.s. Don't listen to all those people who say he doesn't use the chip much. At least up to c17 he uses it at the beginning of every fight, for all his training, and experimenting.

Why do people keep comparing this with the warlock in the magus world?

Sure the cheat is the same and cultivation system is similar but the plot, the execution, the contents are absolutely different.

This novel is good but only at the early chapter because after that the character development, plot development and every single thing started falling apart where logic is replaced with randomness and felt like reading bunch of novels stitched together.

My rating for this is 3 star for the starting to getting to the main starting point of cultivation.... more>> Then it drop to 2.5 star where the plots become shaky as MC iq and intelligence started dropping.

Then the supposed getting contact with the real cultivation world is where it derservs 0 star.

MC started getting pies that falls from the sky, side characters became card boards and things suddenly became a korea drama for no reason <<less

The MC often lists reasons for not doing things, has an over supportive family without doing anything, uses cheat bio chip (WMW) quite liberally to solve all his problems rather than actually making any decisions, scenarios get thrust upon the character in a desperate attempt to follow the WMW storyline. It basically takes all the parts I like from WMW and throws them out while instead of going to the academy, goes back to his daddy... hopefully he shows a bit more initiative with his decision making.

Ed: it does get... more>> better XD <<less

I wasted my life reading this crap of a novel. Why?!

The MC’s personality changes pretty suddenly in the beginning.

Characters sometimes felt like there’s no real importance to them as they’re suddenly or slowly becoming irrelevant.

... more>> The MC eats people. I guess you couldn’t call the elves ‘people’ cuz they’re not humans. How very Chinese of you (I’m referring to people in China but if you’re offended then you’re probably one of them too). Ugh. Nauseating shit.

It could be a great novel but it’s own copycat surpasses this novel in a lot of ways. <<less

I can't help comparing this to WMW, considering how similar they are, even though this one was released before WMW. So I'll say it, this novel is straight up a worse version of WMW. This novel is basically a defective prototype version of WMW.

First off, the main character. So because hes like a twenty year old reincarnated into a 13y/o's body (can't remember exact age), he decides not to have s*xual relationships with 13y/o girls, because it would break his morals. Cool, I'm fine with this. Like two chapters after... more>> he says this, he does a 180, and starts groping super young girls. He does this under the half-assed excuse of "I don't want to get sick by holding back my lust". His character is very inconsistent.

Furthermore, the main characters AI chip. He relies on it a lot. Unlike WMW, the main character is really dumb, thus making the AI chip do all the work. However, I can't help but notice in a lot of things the main character will be really late in asking the AI chip to improve something/do something. I feel like he should've used a long time ago, and this is a reoccurring theme.

The plot is roughly the same as WMW, except without all the schemes. The main character survives dangerous encounters via luck and plot armor. Furthermore, the main character has no motivation. He wanted to become a wizard to get out of serving nobles all day and making next to nothing. He became a wizard. Now, he just seems to do whatever for the plot, I suppose.

And finally, my main problem with this novel. Side characters. The author very clearly forgets about some of them, and when they finally remembers that side characters exist, they will quickly get rid of them to avoid loose ends. For example, he gets a girl early on thats basically a s*ave. He does nothing with her, and later on she is straight up forgotten. I have no idea where she went or what happened to her. A lot of characters seemingly disappear with no explanation.

Overall, even if I didn't read WMW before this, I would be pretty disappointed in this novel anyway. Reading WMW before just made it stand out how bad this novel is. I don't recommend this. <<less

This is a story about a bipolar insane man (who is also possibly a pe*ophile) reincarnated in the body of a tr*shy noble boy and embarking on the path to being a Wizard for no real reason as far as I can tell.

I have read 147 chapters of this story so far so my review, which will be updated in the future, will only cover up until this point.

Spoiler

- MC's name is Angele, which sounds really dumb. It's like I'm trying to say 'Angelina' but I stop at the end.

- This isn't just the problem with the MC, many characters have dumb sounding names, for example, who the f*ck calls themselves 'Omicade'? And that's just one example.

- MC has the AI Chip he names 'Zero' to help him with pretty much anything. He's worthless without the chip's help, and the story says this multiple times. The chip itself also isn't as useful as you'd expect, so that's also disappointing but I guess some people could like that. I am not one of those people.

- Although MC is supposed to be a Wizard, he's more of a knight/assassin than anything so far. He fires more arrows and throws more knifes than he does spells.

- The first 50 chapters are boring slice of life moments on MC's father's territory. I understand that world building is important, but I'm not here for a dispute between kingdoms, I'm here for Wizards. In comparison to WMW, this story only begins with the proper plot at chapter 55 or so. The first time I started reading, I dropped it at chapter 22 but I managed to grit my teeth and persevere on my second time.

- The writing is walking a thin line between okay and bad. The okay part are the descriptions of the rooms, surroundings, overall feel for the atmosphere and such. The bad part is the conversations between characters that will constantly ruin your immersion in this story. Words "one of my guys" are not something a Baron in the medieval age says. Old Wizards saying "yea" and conversing like 21st century teenagers should not be happening.

- MC is a pe*ophile in denial. He doesn't have s*x with his 14 year old cousins and s*aves since he's a 20 year old soul, but is willing to grope them and "have fun" with them? He also later has s*x with a young girl.

- MC, a complete stranger, starts unconditionally loving the father of the boy whose body he possessed. Why? In fact, he loves him so much that he was even jealous that the dad later made a second family and had two children. Are you really an adult person?

- There are at least 10 dropped side quests by chapter 100, and I don't think the author will ever return to them because he explicitly said that these areas are "poor in resources" so they will probably stay unsolved.

- Most of the fights so far are nonsensical, you'll feel as if everyone's fighting in turns, it's really in your face.

- The magical ghost place is so far the best part of the story, the writing really shines in describing the creepy atmosphere of the place.

- MC has no motivation to become a Wizard. His first goal wasn't even becoming a Wizard, but an ordinary knight. Only later does he want to go to a magic school because he found a ring that allows him a free enrollment into the school. And yet his goal and ambition is never explained. He isn't enthralled by the power Wizards wield, he doesn't want immortality, he doesn't want fame nor fortune... What is motivating him? The answer is plot.

Overall, not recommended, a chore to read. 2 stars for now.

[collapse]

Edit 1: chapter 226

Spoiler

- It looks like after MC became a Wizard suddenly every Wizard ever transformed into some kind of blade wielding swordsman or assassin. Everyone tries to go for close quarter combat, and no one wants to make distance to cast spells.

- MC changed classes to a bomber apparently, and started crafting heart bombs from monsters that are fricking powerful thanks to the chip. The usage of actual spells is still minimal/barely present.

- Yet again, I have to praise the author for setting up the creepy mood in ancient ghost ruins. I got the chills when I was reading that.

- The dialogue somehow became EVEN WORSE than before. Every time MC or someone else says something, they always, and I mean it, have to purse their lips first. That is then followed by the others saying "For real?" every single time. "You guys", "my guys", "yea", "for sure" are NOT the words medieval Wizards should be saying.

- All the side characters introduced in the first 50 chapters lost their value and now exist only to die so that MC can later feel sad about it. One of the girls who he liked is just dead, poisoned by a noble for no reason. The author just thought "yea let's kill her off, I'm sure everyone will remember who she was and will feel sad about it". The reason was never stated, and MC forgets her soon after exacting vengeance.

- MC constantly b*tches about being lonely, but he never does anything to make friends. Even when he makes a friend with another Wizard, he just holes himself in his house and doesn't exit for months, refusing to see him. He made a friend in another school a 100 chapters ago, and hasn't sent him a letter once. He doesn't even know how to speak with a girl. But oh no, MC is so "LoNeLy", he feels so "LoNeLy", oh how saaadd....

- MC wants to leave for the Light Wizard lands and get some resources for future advances, so he waits for a few months at a harbor for a Wizard ship. Suddenly, his IQ drops into negatives and he boards the wrong ship and doesn't even bother to ask the Wizards on board if this was the right ship until a few days later. This is all incredibly forced so that MC can get into trouble as an innocent bystander, kill his attackers and then be almost killed by their backers.

- This leads him to hide in the house of some dieing Wizard as an apprentice. He ends up getting some very detailed information about mana control, and this helps him a lot later. Well that was convenient.

- MC is always weaker than anyone else in his rank and must always rely on something to save his ass, usually magical items that he finds.

- MC wants to brew an ancient potion that needs a super duper rare ingredient + he doesn't have the formula. No worries, though, he immediately finds some guy that connects him with the person who has said formula, and after the ghost ruins situation go to shit, the female Wizard MC saved just hands him the super duper ancient ingredient as thanks. It sure is convenient that her family just has that lying around in their treasury, and also that no one tried to stop her from giving that to a no name Wizard with unknown background.

Still 2 stars for now, I don't see it becoming better anytime soon.

[collapse]

Edit 3: chapter 335:

Spoiler

- MC joins the organization his female friend is in as a potion master, and an old potion master suddenly tries to blackmail him because he wants MC's bloodline, but MC turns the tables on him with the AI Chip and ends up exploiting him.

- MC gets all "lonely" again but he now has a friend in an old wizard whom he mostly avoids because... I don't know. MC also apparently doesn't know how to speak to young people, and appears very awkward in conversations.

- Many characters and their personal grudges get introduced, but they have nothing to do with MC and are forgotten two chapters later. The author is wasting chapters with nothing now.

- I realized that I forgot to mention the Nightmare Realm that MC can occasionally visit with a signet gained from harpy blood. He makes some mutated animals that serve no great purpose and that's it for the most part. Later he gets a new bloodline but nothing special about it just yet.

- MC suddenly starts feeling disconnected from the rest of humanity, remarking that he became cold and emotionless (he didn't, he's still a dumb p**sy) and we get an explanation that this happens to all long lived wizards. Except that MC isn't even 30 years old, so I don't know what he was smoking when he thought that...

- More slow slice of life stuff before we finally move on to... more slow boring stuff. It's time to go to the central continent, and the journey is not interesting...

- There were some more characters introduced, but I don't remember much because it was so boring. Overall, nothing important, I'm sure the author will forget about all of them as well and just kill them off in some way.

- The journey on the airships is filled with danger, making you wonder why doesn't the central continent just send a level 4 wizard to exterminate all the dangers. Only 5 people survived the trip and that was largely due to MC and a dude with a dumb name knowing what was going to happen. Why didn't anyone at least give some information since 4 out of 7 dangers could be easily avoided if the wizards on board knew what to do. Instead, everyone leaves them to die. It's just nonsensical.

- Apparently, the Dark Wizard organization decided to test MC to see if he's worthy of joining them by amping up the danger level even more, resulting in catastrophic consequences that only MC survives with great luck. Their excuse? "Sorry, we didn't think that a level 4 storm elemental would attack when we purposefully provoked him. Sovvyy..." It's basically the "it's just a prank bro" excuse.

- The party of misfits crashes on the ground and they search for a nearby city. This is the only good part, where they find the haunted ghost city. Author really excells at creating ghost related stories.

- MC and the guy with a dumb name both get convenient ghost teachers that are level 5 or above possibly, ensuring that MC has a safe road in the future promotions.

- MC joins the dark wizard organization and goes undercover into another organization that the ghost woman wanted him to join so that she can have her revenge on a level 4 wizard woman.

- The author continues in his trend in naming wizards s*upid names, like naming old men Loffy or Mocco, or one woman who just gets called Liv...

- The worst part of the story, the dialogue, is at its peak now. Everyone speaks like a 21s century teenager, and wizards even give f*cking high fives to each other as greetings. What am I reading...

- The ranks in this novel apparently mean very little. No one has any big reaction to seeing a f*cking level 4 wizard (it's like it's an everyday occurrence for these people), MC is physically stronger than a level 2 wizard and can even kill them unless they use OP artifacts (how? I don't know) and yet he's still piss poor weak usually.

- MC masks himself as the woman's son, and she treats him like a treasure because she can't give birth anymore. This means that MC is perfectly safe from any trouble and is showered by ingredients, but don't worry, MC loses IQ and still creates trouble.

- He picks and ruins an important flower belonging to a race of humanoids that use them for reproduction and practically worship them because the idiot didn't check what the flower was first with the AI Chip. The only reason why he survives is because his sugar mommy negotiated with their queen.

- Later, he picks a fight with a level 2 wizard because of a supposed fairy land that can grant wishes. The only reason he is let go is because the wizard recognizes who his sugar mommy is.

- Afterwards, he goes to a party of his sugar mommy's disciple (level 4) and sees his former acquaintance from the dark wizard organization get captured by a young master as a friend of a fiancee who slapped the young master cause he insulted a weak dude who was cucking him. MC tries to use the "give me some face" method contrary to others' advice but gets utterly ignored by the young master, resulting in him being publicly humiliated and everyone rolling their eyes at him, including me. The acquaintance later escapes unharmed, so MC did that for nothing, and even later earns the ire of the young master and gets almost killed by a level 4 wizard but gets saved by ghost teacher.

- MC gets escorted home by a bunch of level 3 apprentices who have bows and shoot arrows that combined create explosions with 1000 degrees of damage. Mind you, every wizard so far has rarely exceeded 200 degrees of damage, making this the most world breaking thing I have read so far. Am I smoking something or is the author smoking something?

From 2 stars to 1.2 stars, the story got worse than before. The only reason why I'm still reading this is because I'm on a beach and have nothing much to do.

Yes, it feels grossly similar to WMW but that is just in the beginning of it and the basic concepts of radiation and going from a weaker area to larger area and possibly different realms but the whole execution and the 'adventures' are different.

The name of the MC is Angele and I found it very odd while reading as I cannot picture that name on a male character without a quick pronunciation of it (Angel) and if I pronounce it like a man's name (angel - e) it hinders my... more>> reading a lot. I loved the development of the family of the MC. I loved the time spans (did not feel over exaggerated). I felt the pace was ok. I have mixed feelings about the development of the MC's mindset.

However:

I hated the 'writing' of the author. Every 2 chapters, where there is even a minor skip (like, he left the house and went to the mountain that is 3 hours away from his place) he needs to describe the MC again and in a very irritating way. He will describe for half a chapter and then say, this man is MC.
The author also has a tendency to describe very minor actions that hold no meaning and just increase reading time.

Another thing I found was that the author skips out on a lot of the action (I don't mean the fights).
Spoiler

There is a war, he runs away and the enemies let go of him just like that. He gets into sh*t just by being a bystander, he just goes and lives in a no-fighting zone and the bounty goes away. And all the time he has the misconception that he gets into a lot of fights and so he is superior as an 18 year rather than one who has lived for over 100 years. There is a dangerous journey, the dangerous parts are skipped. He needs resources, he goes to the trading centre and gets them on a platter from an underground organization. Someone is hunting him, a friend's relative stops that guy. He says he is frightened of ghosts and curses but in twenty years he is living peacefully, he does nothing about understanding them from his teacher who is a specialist in it. There is no adventure to speak of.

[collapse]

So, it's more like the daily life of a wizard kind of book and light in that sense but not really.

I stopped reading here because of the writing style.

p.s. WMW was a hundred times better than this novel and all those haters who don't know how to appreciate a good book should stop giving sympathy reviews and give constructive ones so people can actually make use of them. <<less

If you plan on reading this you'll probably hate many things about it !

First red flag : ... more>>
Spoiler

if you're the mc's step sister, that's not a problem even if you're 13 ! "I won't have s*x with her she's too young... But still ! Im gonna have a little fun !" (what the f*cking f*ck is going ON !)

[collapse]

Second red Flag :
Spoiler

(Tia she does every he asks, yet ! he still can't trust her, he still has to mark her soul !) -- I'm not going to lie to you. the author spent 30 chapter building a trust worthy relationship completly devoid of any manipulation ! yet the MC chooses not to trust her ! -- at this moment I understood that the MC was a broken man with trust issues ! he hides everything ! from everyone ! it's suffocating !

[collapse]

Third red Flag :
Spoiler

"The MC, has an average looking face ! with sometimes long/short brownhair, and this man was Angele !" (you will read this sentence more that a hundred times during the story !" the facial features of the hero are never described closely ! except for his eyes !!

[collapse]

Fourth red Flag :
Spoiler

The MC has no control !, he's like a weed drifting in the sea !

[collapse]

Truth be told ! the MC changes completly for no reason ! at first he's a hot rabbit ! but then 50 chapters later he turn into and ass*xual ! Completly devoid of desires !

The story is poorly written and executed ! the author tries to show you how the MC is viewed, but every actions shows another image, there's no coherency betweens the MC's action, and the Author's picture of the Hero ! (There's actually no picture of the Hero ! it's a complete random guy !) There's an anchor in the begining, but after several chapters that anchor is removed ! The MC is changing every time, you don't know from where he came, and toward where he's going !!!!!

there's simply no story !

Im giving it 1/5 because the author is great when it comes to spooky moment ! those that involve wandering souls ! The author should probably focus on writing small ghost stories ! <<less

An unfinished novel that is good at the beginning and at the mid section but is a mess in the ending. Lots of side plot just forgotten. Many introduced characters are left in dust after going through so many chapters to introduce them.
Spoiler

Every character introduced on till 600 is gone lol and why? Because MC gets stuck in an another world for 800 years and everyone is dead. Thats it lol everythings gone.

[collapse]
The ending didn't just felt rushed but is rushed, actually there isn't even a ending to this novel, just finished half way through an arc. I feel like my time was wasted reading an unfinished mess.

I read almost half of the novel.

Honestly, I don't see why people rate this novel so high, many people recommended because of WMW. Although, it's a bit similar, as well totally different from WMW.

The MC of this novel, well... is a bit too much like a cannon fodder. Well, a well developed 3 dimensional cannon fodder. He's nothing special. IT totally sum up. Working for a organization he knows nothing about, get the material, satisfy his curiosity or, use it to break through. Then complaining about his loneliness, his lacking... more>> of motivation ect...

Always trying to act like a goody two shoes.

Sigh... Totally boring. if one finish this up, I'd recommend WMW. But if you finished WMW, you should totally skip this one, a total waste of time <<less

This book is really bad I don’t care if this book did the stuff first when one so clearly suppirior some one said the world feels old they might be high this world feels like it just came to be on a whim and the author never flushed out the world the interactions are pointless the fighting is third rate at best and comes with a decent amount of nonsense through out do yourself a favor and read Wmw if you have the steer clear of this lazy excuse for... more>> a book <<less

This is the older and much better version of Warlock of the Magus World. The main character is nowhere near as evil as Leylin. The story has far more character interactions and the main character, so far, doesn't stumble over treasure after treasure.

The story doesn't have the very intriguing start that WMW had with the conspiracy, but compared to the later parts of WMW this is much better.

Pro:

    • Not a bad main character.
    • The world is BIG, and there is a sense of mystery of what's going on, you really feel what the life of being in a world where information is slow to go around.
    • You feel like the world is older than it seems.
    • Fairly well written, not many bullsh*t enemies actually (you know, the "you're courting death!!!" types).
Con:

    • MC is a tad too bloodthirsty in his revenges, especially in later parts of the story.
    • There seems to be an overall sense of loneliness, due to many characters being way too far to interact with. Mildly depressing I guess. I hope it'll change though.
    • No real usage of modern knowledge, like many other works in the same theme.
    • The chip RPG like feature is ridiculous, it could have been done in a more organic way.
    • No romance (just personal preference here, but this feels kinda dry). And minimal friendship overshadowed by a giant give and take mentality.

It is a mildly interesting novel. The word building was good in the beginning. I actually read Warlock of the Magus World first, but it was boring, and the interesting things in it (The Magic system, the Knight system, the wizard academies, and the AI chip) are all directly copied from this novel!

Spoiler

Good Things
*The MC is a 'realist', doesn't charge in battles like a ret*rd to randomly fight a higher level enemy, so its a change.
*Magi system is interesting.
*World building is mildly interesting.

Not So Good
*AI Chip cheat is random, it is seemingly able to do random things, and author keeps adding new capabilities.

*MC is reincarnated, but that doesn't get into play here, at all.

Bad things
* The story is bland, with nothing real that drives the MC forward, except that he wants to be a wizard.

[collapse]

Verdict
A generally Bland story with a few interesting things, the translation is still in the initial stages so far, hope the interesting things continue.

Recommendation
Read Immortal Mortal and Death Sutra instead. These two novels are MUCH better, especially Death Sutra. <<less

The plot is about a future human (year 23xx) with AI chip reincarnated into a dark fantasy medieval setting. The world is basically a darker western lore: sword, magic, elves, dragon, dryad, harpies, vampires, chimera, insects, etc. MC does a lot of black magic, which involves inhumane experimentation as well as gory process.

I gives this 2/5. I think it is a different taste for Chinese novel. The MC rely mostly on his growth and experiment rather than OP-from-start luck. He does have slightly more luck than his peers, but his... more>> power slowly came over time.

However, the downsides of this novel is it is mundane in every other aspects. This novel can be described as a "self-fulfilling" journey rather than a goal. MC basically moves from place to place and progress his experiment inside his bas**ent lab. His sole intention is to get stronger for sake of being the best. There will be a lot of characters and relationships deliberately forgotten by the author. They only serve to commute with MC in that specific arc. After MC moved on to next place, he'll meet a newer version of the same niche roles (best friends, maid girl, "family", etc). Hence, the relationship development of this novel is superficial at best.

Furthermore, there is no compelling plot driver for MC progress. There are no ultimate vengeance nor big villain nor loved one to protect. MC only life goal is to live for himself and get stronger. Since this goal drives him to travel to search for better power, often time he'd encounter a lot of foes during his travels (both intentionally and unintentionally), which is where most of this novel villains stemmed from. <<less
