Great Novel I even a follower and read it daily but good things don't last long

No Idea what the author are thinking or rather maybe author run out of idea to think but as of chapter 500 and so on it became very boring to the point I can barely want to read it.

Spoiler

After MC went to 8th floor story was like side chapters, side characters and MC was barely mention... well if its just side character I can still read it but reading some random chapters about some reporters some random battle some random comments etc. ect. the randomness is killing me

I'm reading for the MC and his friends/enemies. Who gave a damn about some random character who argue some pointless stuff and waste chapters it's so agonizing... especially the party about the news and its reporters lol

[collapse]

Another good novel lost its shine and need to be drop by me lol to bad for the hundreds novel I follow I rather love the plot and MC but since author seems to make MC put into the sideline as of chapter 500 I well also put this novel in the sideline... <<less

When I first started reading Absolute Choice I was really hoping it'd be entertaining, something I could really enjoy reading. The idea of being forced to make or choose between decisions could have been written in a very interesting manner. What I soon found though was that the story seemed to place an emphasis on comedy, which I personally disliked. Despite that, I continued reading, hoping Absolute Choice would at least have an interesting story or world. One hundred and three chapters in, I completely gave up. Any will or... more>> desire to read Absolute Choice had been completely sapped away. Just writing this review makes me recall the experience of reading Absolute Choice with regret for the time I wasted. I disliked or even hated most of the characters, found the comedy to be hit or miss at best, and was generally unimpressed. This story was most assuredly not for me. If you think it might be for you, then great, but don't expect too much from Absolute Choice. <<less

I discovered this book several day ago and it completely hooked me. I loves how the character ambiguous words or action, or just plain gulibleness can stirred up some really fun and enjoyable moments. The actions are also an enjoyable factor that contributed to the story.

Spoiler

The story been stuck at the Nine Transcended Tower hopefully we'll be able to pass that and move on into another arc, I would love to see some relationship development though.

As the author or translator says you need to bear with it in the beginning, it may seem s*upid, lame, cliche, w/e but later it all makes sense. The story gets really good after ~50 chaps and it follows a chunnibyou MC (there is a reason why he is such, explained in a tragic flasback so don't think he's just an idiotic shallow character). The first few characters are plagirazed for parody, not really funny though and the author realised that perhaps so he switched to originals. There seems to... more>> be a developing harem but actually there won't be, just funny situations where the MC gets caught seemingly doing something with a girl, but he isn't ofc and he barely knows what s*x is (no he isn't a whimpy bloke of wood, he is a bloke who doesn't care for sex), and he won't know for a long time and only then with 1 girl perhaps, so harem haters worry not. Yea I know my sentences are mish mash but as long as I say the important things and fast, I'm not writting an essay for a grade here. Anyway it's about funny shonen adventures in a sort of a One Punch Man world where the MC gets ridiculous quests he must fulfill. <<less

I was mildly interested in the novel already because of the summary. It seemed like a unique novel. It starts off kind of weird because of the whole chunni thing but after around chapter 30 the main character gets really likable. The storyline is ok, it hasn't majorly developed yet but each Arc so far has been so nice. It's a hilarious and interesting novel.

Starts okay-ish but after chapter 30 it starts to get original once the author broke from the manga/anime characters and started to create his own characters the story is good and the arks are not long, I read many Chinese novel and this is one of the novels you read to change your usual taste its like going camping once in a while rather than going partying :)

The thing that really got to me is how much bullsh*t the author tried to get past the reader. The MCis recognized as easily the best genius of his generation, possibly even EVER, yet his treatment is shit.
What makes it even more confusing is that right before he started being treated like shit, the author specifically mentioned that the group he's in is essentially pulling out all the stops to keep him loyal and train him. They assign a high ranking genius/ojou-sama to be his mentor and then they apparently forget entirely about the situation.
The mentor promptly f*cks off to somewhere for no reason, and he's assigned to follow the regular recruits (which is even more mind boggling because he would of ended up there anyways.)
The BIGGEST f*ck up is that the teacher is some sadistic f*ck. The guy fails at least half a class every single time, letting a sh*t ton of skilled people fail out because of he's crazy. That's the only reason given. After mol*sting and nearly instantly failing the MC, his very next action is to mislead the MC into doing a trial that 9/10 people DIE in.
How the f*ck is this person a teacher? There is no way ANYONE would let this f*cking idiot anywhere near recruits. Hell I'm surprised he's even ALIVE with the sh*t he apparently pulls.
I can take a lot of sh*t in stories, but this was just ridiculous

[collapse]

The story does get a lot better once you get past the utter bullsh*t that is his first teacher. I really started to enjoy it after the the arc. <<less

Initially good, but starts dragging more and more.

It was funny and the characters were interesting, and it had room to reveal more about the world.

First part: 3-4 stars (5 stars is reserved for masterworks).

Second part: 1-2 stars.

The enjoyment I got from it makes me sad to drop it. If I try to read more I will probably dislike it more, so I am dropping now.

While reading "absolute choice" I enjoyed the humor and the writing style is good good translation good description of battle scenes and lots of tension from reasonable situations, even good character development and personality. The problem is the further the author progressed it's as if he didnt know how to end the arc, and when it finally ended the chapters of description explaining how everything came to a close should've been understood when the arc was finished. Frankly for me and my general opinion when an author takes multiple chapters... more>> to explain how an arc ended is a failur as the reader shouldn't have to be told through filler the author should be able to inform you throughout the arc not when it is finished and readers are still wondering what the purpose and point of the story is 500+ chapters into a book. Furthermore after chapter 100 the humor is good but it's too much for my liking it's like the author wanted to make a comedy. Humor is good but not when it's forces. Another problem I had is the MC is impossible to take serious at any moment throughout the story. Frankly I feel the author should go to writing comedies but doubt as the jokes became increasingly dull and I felt I was reading what a high school kid would say as a naughty joke to his friend. <<less

I must say I'm quite disappointed. The higher the expectations, the greater the disappointment. The story started off with many references, a healthy dose of face-smacking, bits of solemnity and suspense within all the comedy. Despite his words and behaviour, MC appeared to be more than a chuuni and there's some intrigue about his identity. The various characters weren't boring and some of their motivations and personalities were quite memorable. I had given the story 5 stars in my heart, back then.

arc, however, it got terribly tedious to read. The plot was ridiculously dragged out in the name of suspense, the chapters grew to be of little to no significance and can pretty much be counted as fillers. The 'comedy' wasn't even funny anymore. It isn't so bad if this happens for a couple of chapters, if it's to give the readers a break from the fast pace and what not. However, this continues for tens of chapters and by that time, AC ceased to be enjoyable to read and merely became a chore. <<less

Should get 5/5 IF & ONLY IF

1. The author himself isn't overtly obsessed with chunibiao.

2. Reduce the overt babbling, fill in nonsense chapter.

3. I reduce my IQ to 7 years old child.

Story starting is very good as xianxia+game novel genre. But all the sparklings is dull by those two above clauses. If one can't endure it, better quit fast. No need to pass the 50th chapter before decide to quit and complaint!! There is no 1st place of showing idiot-ness.

Translation quality is superb. However, while the novel does not end, to the last chapter (549th, 8 Aug), it seems like only 10% of the whole story is revealed. You need a lot of patience to follow what's next.
There's good point about the last 50 chapters. You can read them all in less than 30 minutes. It's simply babbling filler. Period.

Then, 1 stars from what? The 1st for the first 200 chapters. The 2nd for the patience and dedication of the translator. I wonder how he can tolerate such babbling..

My recommendation?

Read this novel if

Absolute Choice introduces us to a fresh story about a world of super heroes with the ability to cultivate to better themselves and the world around them. The MC's ability "Absolute Choice" leads to interesting outcomes that can be comedic or have serious implications later in the story.

The plot moves at a satisfactory pace with some 'fluff' included. Fluff is the author's method of increasing a chapter's length by continuously critiquing a character's actions (Ex. MC) through other character (s) by either applauding or mocking him/her. Fluff also includes restating... more>> already known facts about the story such as the MC's strength or traits multiple times.

However, the plot moves at a slower pace during the "Tower" arc from chapter 225 - 525. The repetitive narration will become more apparent as you progress through the chapters. Eventually you can almost skim through a chapter and pick out new relevant information. The story begins to pick up pace from chapter 525 as the author transitions to something new.

I am disappointed in the author's form of narration during the Tower arc. The author describes the arc as "[...] an exciting period that could be written into a novel" (Chapter 525). Quite frankly the author could've written a few with the amount of filler packed in.

This series will be put on hold until new reviews indicate an improvement in the author's content to filler ratio or the plot moves forward significantly. <<less

The absolute choice system made this story into something more intriguing, and refreshing to read. MC is somewhat naive, dense, and very arrogant, but somewhat amusing. Too bad there's some characters from another fiction pop up here and there, but not the characters themselves, rather they are.. you can call them... fake or second rate imposter which somewhat ruined the story.

If you're fine with that shortcoming, then this is a great story to enjoy.

The MC is a bit annoying, until you notice he's just a little chuunibyou. I mean, Absolute Choice is just like Noucome with all the humor and comedy, but also gore and 'kind-of' mature content. Yes, Shi Xiaobai may be a little smug and eccentric, but from the first chapter we read things like: "He was the strongest in his universe/He was a king above everyone else" etc, and yet he suddenly appears in the body of a 13yo kid who thinks he's overpowered? As I said, if you get... more>> annoyed by the "This King"-shit, just treat it like you're reading a kid boasting, this novel is worth a read, try to read at least to chapter 5, chapters are short so don't worry. <<less

first and foremost, I have a problem with how the characters interact with each other. The interactions arent how regular humans interact with each other. Even in an alternate world there's still a basic amount of self awareness that the characters lack.

that being said, im going to be very honest with you. I didnt get far. But I did skip ahead to see it got any better and got to chapter 570 and read from there. And no, no it doesnt get better. In fact the MC has barely changed... more>> in fact. I really wanted to like this. Yes the one punch man rip off was so blatant it hurt me reading it and the whole chuuni act wasnt cute or funny at all but just made me strongly dislike the MC. But the idea was solid and I wanted a good world building from the author. I read from other reviews that the the author is still an amateur and all, but I really thought that there should be a certain level of knowledge the author clearly lacks in terms of writing. I felt like it was a sixth grader that wrote it. If it is a sixth grader, then please ignore everything I said in terms of writing skill. <<less

Probably one of the best novels like this I have read.. There are a lot of unwanted chapters which are usually common in Korean novels, but even those chapters are interesting rather than annoying unlike those.

Anyway this novel is supposed to be a comedy+parody with a true plot. The author is not bad enough to scam you with lengthening the chapters with eros but he does so by repeating text with the help of absolute choice, it's really annoying to type the same thing over and over again so he... more>> must be using cut/paste... Anyway, the story is awesome, I hope it goes on for another 2000 chapters at the very least... <<less

I've read up to chapter 44 so far, every chapter leaves me holding my sides from laughter. If you can get around the Chuunibyouness of the main character I guarantee that you will enjoy this novel, at least up to that point. First review I've written for this site out of the numerous novels I have read here, but this one just needed this little bit of commentary that may get one of you to read this novel as well.

I stopped reading it at 100+ something... when it started to add Guilty Crown in the mix... Ok the author same to like manga it's cool but it's too much and he take all of the idea from other work... It's more of a FanFic than a novel.

What I dislike the most is that the MC is only 13 yrs old but the author make him almost all the time to be in position where when he talk or is with a girl act like a pe*vert even if it's after say that it's a misunderstand and he is pure and innocent. Or add some suggestive scene where other say they "look like lover" when it's a 19 yrs girl with a 13 yrs... I mean ok it was in the online game and they didn't know he is only 13 yrs but they fight and the author describe it like a lover fight? Why not old friend that was enjoying their fight? No he directly describe it like something romantic between a child and an adult?

And how can adults or even teen girls take the MC seriously or act like he is a pe*vert when he is only a child of 13yrs? Well maybe the first time it was funny but when it's like that almost each time he come across a girl it became old fast... If it was a manga it would be a doujinshi shotacon. Now it's what I thinks, you have to read it so you can have your idea on it but I don't like it and I feel like I have been cheated of my time. By the way you should add on the tag Harem and echi.

Persse.

One of the best novels I've read!

It's different from most novels. Feels like a mix of Chinese/Japanese writing styles.

Characters are awesome and varied. Gotta love the king. He's really good at making others speechless.

... more>> There are pe*verted moments, but the MC isn't a pe*vert. He's just got a tint of that lucky Japanese harem MC. He's pretty pure and has a harem. It's a good one though. Not all women helped by him fall for him.

MC's past is mysterious. I am still utterly confused about what he is. HECK EVERYTHING IS MYSTERIOUS I'M DYING TO KNOW.

I'd ignore the random 'crossover' characters. They aren't that annoying, and as what many other reviewers have said, the author stops adding them.

I feel the hype. The author dragged out one arc, but it was still really good. Very funny and heart-touching.

EDIT: The author's on hiatus. Apparently, he'll be updating as he likes since he's working on another novel that he'll be more focused on. I think he's a pulling a Speechless. XD <<less

Absolute Choice-a product repeatedly reflected and distorted embodiment of the onepunch-Man universe, diluted by the author's imagination. Baldy is not the main character here, he is just a nice addition to the story. The main character is similar in strength to the anime character NouCome, with the curse of choice and the time loop, add other races, organizations, and the link of the MC to the destruction of the world. It turns out a wild, but no less violent and beautiful story. Many characters, time travel, and even a world... more>> tree. Elements of Comedy, drama and exciting fights. It reads quite well, it's a pity that the author no longer releases the sequel. <<less
