When asian stories or anime get hollywood live adaptations, the term americanized comes into mind. In novels like this, the reverse is also the same. Characters tend to act or speak in a rather chinese way that western people generally dont. Understandable since the author is probably chinese. His attempts to keep continuity is pretty okay but could use some improvements. Maybe if author watches more hollywood films or shows, hed understand the culture more.

It's got a pretty good storyline in the 14 chapters I read but it's let down by the weird translation. I just couldn't continue reading because of it. There aren't any spelling mistakes but the sentence structure and the way its explained feels janky to read. Like someone put it through multiple google translations then cleaned it up
