Qin Shi saved a child and died. The system gave her three rebirth choices.

1. Transmigrate to the ’60s to be another family’s daughter-in-law.
2. Transmigrate to the ’70s to be an educated youth in the countryside.
3. Transmigrate to the ’80s to be a “stepmother” of three babies.

Qin Shi decisively chose 3. She really can not bear the hardships of the ’60s and ’70s.

At the blind date, Lu Zetian looked serious: “If you don’t want to, I don’t want to drag you down.”

Qin Shi: “I understand.”

Before Lu Zetian could relax his expression, he heard the other party speak again.

“You need someone to take care of the children. I need you to take me out of here. We can get married by agreement.”

“My task is to seriously support and educate the three children to grow up, take care of your food, drink and life, and play the loving husband and wife outside when necessary.”

“And you only need to pay for all the expenses of the family and my salary. Of course, I will give you the account book to ensure that the account is clear and not fake.”

Lu Zetian: “…?”

The three children of the Lu family heard that if they were going to have a stepmother they would not have enough food and clothing, or even be abused.

They made up their minds to show their stepmother that they were not easy to bully.

As a result, the stepmother saluted them seriously as soon as she entered the door, and then gave courtesy in front of them.

“Hello, my name is Qin Shi. I will take care of your daily life in the future. I swear to the chairman that I will treat you fairly, justly and openly. I hope you can cooperate with me and we will live well together.”

Lu family’s 3 children was shocked: ⊙ ﹏ ⊙!?

Been a while not reading BG+childcare story. And this one didnt disappoint me, although YES, all the things happened can only happen because it's FICTION.

For example, not only renovate but building the old house into new with complete new design with new furnitures built from scratch. Yet for a total of 1 month you just left it at the hand of the builder and not even once you called them to ask/went to see. When it's done, you went back and voila everthing was ready. They even put the correct... more>> color of bed sheet in your children's room.

FL got the chef skill as her goldenfinger, but might as well got the goldenfinger on all the things she touched. The original can sew and tailor clothes not the FL but to be able to make a piano recital dress was still unbelievable.

The children were adorable. Some other characters were created interesting and couldnt help but wanting to read about them more. The villain or designated female villain was uselessly created imo, it had big potential to be big villain and might make the story to have more spice.

Unfortunately, just when the plot got going of where the FL and ML to be real couple, the author just cut it off. Shame. <<less

The way to a man's heart really is his stomach, haha. This novel is very cute. Cliche, but still has some originality to it. There's no way you can't not like the MC. She has a strong heart and is very knowledgeable. If you're looking for a normal, refreshing, hilarious, and captivating novel, then read this. I promise you won't regret it!

Slice of life, you dont have to think too much about this one. There is another book wearing girl but she does nothing much. The characters are a bit 2d and the one good thing I can think of is that the ML's ex wife is not a vicious supporting character. This whole book was basically a mary sue FL gets praised to high heaven by the author.

The only thing that sets this novel about "becoming a stepmother, making a fortune and falling in love" apart is its setup.

The FL marries the ML, but it's a fake marriage. And both agree on that. Neither is seeking a real spouse and both are seeking to provide care for three kids that he adopted. So the FL agrees to work for him as his children's live-in nanny and housekeeper, a paid nanny and housekeeper, under the cover of being his wife and the children's stepmother. They sign up a... more>> three year contract. Which actually explicitly forbids workplace s*xual harassment.

Interestingly, this novel also skips the matchmaker part. The ML's mother who cared for the babes for four long years spotted the FL, noticed that she was caring and good with kids, and asked her to consider her son as a husband for herself.

That was sort of refreshing to read about. The FL was coolheaded and did not fall for her mighty and handsome employer head over heels and did not feel pressured to satisfy her (or his) carnal needs either, having a hot dude right next to her and a status of his wedded wife to boot. In that sense, this novel breaks a lot of patterns we see in C-novels about marrying a powerful CEO, or becoming a stepmother for his kids.

Interestingly, the kids, not knowing that she was their paid nanny and housekeeper, fell for this and started calling her mommy pretty soon, but I do not recall her calling them son or daughter, although she presented herself to other adults as their mom or them as her sons and daughter. And of course she never called her husband husband, maybe this will happen later, because the novel ends up with

Spoiler

the morning after they finally consummated. It took her a while to rest assured that he broke off all ties with the destiny prescribed to him by the novelist (she transmigrated into a novel) and then to fall in love with his body and soul. The ML had to pursue his own wife for nearly two years before he got her.

So, this novel is not really about love. The system tasked the FL with the task of caring for those orphans and the novelist forced the ML to adopt them practically against his will, as if possessed, a completely irrational decision that cost him his first marriage (his wife was not even consulted, so she left him).

It is a great novel about caring though, about all ways that people care for each other in a nuclear or extended family, with the in-laws, exes, etc. This makes this novel unique and great and I smiled a lot as I read it. 5 stars for sure, it's good.

This one is really good.. Light, warm, fluff and so slice of life. No villains, no drama, really light and simple. So if you looking for something heartwarming, this one is for you.. But if you are the type who like more drama, conflict or angst then this is not for you.

But if you looking for romance,

maybe this one will dissapoint you. Both leads "really" end together only in last chapter. Just imagine it, we only got the sweetness in 1 chapter and it also the last chapter. Oh my poor ML..

[collapse]

The FL really got a lot of buff for herself that makes her looks charming. Most of the chapter is about childcare, so really.. If you looking for romance, it really is not for you..

I only wish author give us more extra chapter about both leads. The ending is warped up good enough, but honestly still not satisfied enough.

Be aware, this one spoiler is contain the ending and more specific. So who doesn't like the detail spoiler, skip this one below

Spoiler

The ending is where FL finally sure enough that ML not bound by the plot of original novel, so she finally accept ML and become a real couple. They kissu kissu and go to the bedroom, you know what happens next (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). That's it, that is the end of the story. I'M REALLY NOT SATISFIED ENOUGH WITH THAT. The author just gave me a bit of sugar and then take it away immediately from me. I really want an extra chapter ಥ‿ಥ

in my opinion it was a great lighthearted novel revolving around MC raising the children and as required by the system-to play the role as a stepmother. the children here warm up to her fairly quickly and mostly act their age as well as good character setting for their circumstances.

i have to say, the romance is not a big part of this at all. The ML somehow realizes his feeling through watching MC interact daily with the fam and be a good mother figure (or nanny since this is... more>> what they agreed upon before marriage)

i feel like it started out amazing and even close to the end it was all good but then all of a sudden the story comes to an end... it doesn't seem to affect the main story line since the whole plot has been about raising the children but it's just madly abrupt. even though I feel like there's loose ends the author could have fixed up somehow, I appreciate it more than becoming a draggy and lengthy story.

if you take it more optimistic we can just assume that the author was going for a more open ending leaving us to imagine; how the MIL's business progressed and grew, how MC's own business venture succeeded, if ML ex-wife married better man and had healthier kids, what was the second novel with the scum as the ML about (???), why OGMC gave up ML and stuff about her new romance direction, if oldest son was able to break away from plot string and pursue a diff career (as well as the other kids), if MC n ML managed to have their own child...i dont hate the open ending (just to be polite -.-*) but having all these in some extra chapters would've been nice.

cons aside: the flow for the most book is actually pretty amazing. the characters are all fun and watching them interact is pretty nice. The overdone cliché of setting up stalls, being dirt poor, using cooking to earn money, using modern knowledge to invent things or even the studying to resume for college entrance exam isn't there. Looking back, the plot is so simplistic but somehow just works. It was also refreshing to have a ML who earns well and has good money.

In conclusion, it's by no means a perfect novel or even a great novel but it's fairly good to pass the time if you're in the mood to read slice-of-life without heavy romance (just two people respecting each other as the father of the children and mother of the children). I love the interactions of MC and children!!! A good read if you can ignore some flaws. <<less
