Lets ignore these reviews that comment if the translation is good or not or whatever in hell it means when all of your review just says 'story is fun and emotional'. Well of course it is because you didnt even mention that these 'emotional' aspects happen only because of bog standard tr*sh that is 'misunderstandings' I'm talking the typical japanese novel levels of miscommunication and 'i wont even listen to you' but I'm getting ahead of myself.

TLDR: This is an absolutely terrible experience to read 2 out of 10. All... more>> events are forced, all situations made up. The MC has no free will, he's getting swept along by the tragedy. This is an absolute stain on the author's reputation compared to the novel he wrote before that was so close to greatness (main heroines). In main heroines where the MC doesn't give up even till his dying breath or beyond. And here (framed villain) he's like I got framed oh woe is me guess I'll lie down and accept the execution and just fkin die. Anyone who doesn't realize that is huffing pretty big amounts of copium.

Now i'll explain in depth why I say that. First of all it is clear what the author wanted to do.

He wanted to relive greatness, he wanted to make the EXACT SAME themes as his previous novel. Trying to get the same plot as the previous novel but in a completely different setting. And he failed at it spectacularly. The comments are too distracted trying to guess worthless things like "who's the regressor and whos the reincarnator or transmigrator" or whatever tr*sh that they forget the MC himself is a clown. There is no setup for his character. His relationship to the heroines or the other people isnt established, hell you DONT EVEN KNOW what his original power was, this graduate of the hero academy. You only know his 'hidden ability' and the ability he got from his friend who literally just died in the beginning of the novel. Like it actually starts with her dying except it literally doesnt matter because he never fkin explains anything about her. He's too distracted wallowing in self pity. Speaking of, none of the emotional tension is present like the previous novel. His friends literally just betray him and thats it. You don't even know how the hell did someone manage to convince them to betray him, and its never explained.

People keep saying this is not NTR and yes it isn't in the traditional sense. But for all intents and emotional reasons THIS IS NTR. His girlfriend and his own sister is an actual sl*t who literally thinks about the other guy in her dreams and is ready to actually mu*der her brother in cold blood for it. And the MC is a cuck who just takes everything lying down. He isn't driven by some greater good like the previous novel's MC was. He's not willing to sacrifice himself so that the world stays okay. There is literally none of that. This idiot still too hung up on the fact that 'the good guys betrayed me' and he joins the villains but only in name.

Cause you know what the author does literally right afterwards? It turns out the Villains are actually the good guys ALL ALONG cause the 'heroes' are ALL CORRUPTED and are literally tentacle monsters in disguise in the most comical way of portraying 'evil' like cthulhu monsters or some tr*sh. So there is NO EMOTIONAL WEIGHT behind the fact that the MC is being forced by the situation to act like a bad guy to good people but for a greater purpose like was the case in the previous novel.

NOPE, the MC is simply the 'good guy' who just happens to be the whole team of villains trying to fight against the entire system that is comically corrupted.

I've tried reading this novel 4, 5 and 6 times. I keep stopping in between. I WANTED to give it a chance over and over, I too was huffing a bit of that copium, trying to give the author the benefit of the doubt because his previous novel was just that good. But nope, I as the reader kept getting betrayed over and over and over again. I literally can't read past the 9th chapter because the novel is just so bad.

Skip this novel, just skip this. Let it rot in the deepest depths of hell. The author got kidnapped by japanese lightnovel guys and indoctrinated into writing this weak ass beta MC with nonsensical story. Like seriously. Even if all you want is the h**ny then consider the previous novel where the heroines would rather commit su*cide after killing him because they still liked him so much. But in this novel they'll just do it for the heck of it and are only stopped by the man they are NTR'd by. This is yandere bait as well but thats a whole another topic I dont have time to get into now. <<less

Well usually I don't really write a review, because it's not my cup of tea but for this one I want to try, because I love this novel❤, so if I do any mistake please forgive me😅.

Well Translator did really a great job by selecting this novel. For those who don't know, this one is the from the author of 'The Main Heroines are Trying to Kill Me' but it's still ongoing and well as far as I have read this, This is also a great one, with a great... more>> story and realistic characters.

And I don't agree with AzureEmpR review that translation is bad, but in realty some chapters of this novel has this weird dream/play like style of writing, which sometime can feel little hard to read or understand but it's not used in all chapters. And on the other hand I like the fact that translator did not change it and ruin the fun of originality.

Overall this is a very fun and emotional read, I really love it. <<less

Now this novel has a pretty basic MC and a lot of cool mysteries.

ONTO THE CONS, the 3 'NTRed' heroines were convinced to side against the MC way too easily and are way too devoted to the Antagonist considering it is heavily implied there was no brainwashing or coercing involved. 1 of the reasons a heroine sided against the MC was revealed and its utterly ret*rded.

There are also way too many mysteries. The mysteries are intriguing but when in the first 5 chapters like, a dozen characters with hidden backstories... more>> and their own motives show up. It gets really confusing.

Overall a 3, borderline 4 <<less

Absolutely wow, what did I just read? This novel has some seriously good characters (aside from some). The story is definitely confusing as it contains all types of tropes but it also makes it unique. Unfortunately, I have to take away two stars, 1 because of the brain-damaged ex-heroines trope which I hate, and 2 because of excessive foreshadowing.
Spoiler

As I mentioned, I hate the trope where the ex-heroines are s*upid and don't recognize the MC for everything he has done to then later realize and regret it. Especially when it's because they are NTRed by someone (in this novel a crossdressing girl, which I find hilarious). Then it gets worse looking at the ex-heroines statuses: a prophet (Guess you could say she didn't see him coming), a sister, a successor to a major company, and a literal girl with no emotions.

[collapse]

Spoiler

As for the excessive foreshadowing, it feels like every few chapters the author throws a new foreshadowing into the story about how xx will be this in the future or MC will die in the future or the MC has a future self that does x and y. I don't have issues with foreshadowing, but the amount of foreshadowing that has happened in 26 chapters is ridiculous.

This story is a mashup of multiple standard Japanese webnovel plotlines.

If you haven't read a lot of webnovels then this is decently solid story to start with, but if you have read them before then you'll find this predictable and cliche.

Spoiler

The story is "a sweet pushover MC who secretly has strong powers is betrayed and now all the girls will regret it" mixed with "powerful MC has to fight against the world to save it".

It has all the generic cliches: every notable character besides the MC is a girl who loves him, he was underappreciated and hid his power, etc. The only surprising thing is that one of the harem members was killed off to start the story off.

My biggest complaint is that the mix if story plotlines ruins the good parts of both. A story where the "good guys" betray the MC and him getting revenge allows the story to explore his struggle with doing bad deeds and if his revenge is worth hurting bystanders. A story where the world is evil and the MC has to fight it explores fighting against good people who think they're on the right side and the MC's struggle with losing those friends / trying to convince them of the truth. In this story, the MC was betrayed AND the world is evil. Hell, he joined the villains for attacking a school before he even knew about the evil world so he wasnt making any sacrifice or decision for the choice. The MC can slaughter without feeling guilty cause the world is evil, he can freely fight against "good people" because they betrayed him. The story removed any moral issues he could run into before they happened.

[collapse]

The story tries to do too much with adding various plotlines which takes away from the value of each. It's a decent story, but you could find better done stories of the same plot elsewhere. <<less

Pretty good to be honest, There was epic fighting conspiracy and a lot of excitement in the beginning of the paragraphs and chapters.

I won't spoil anything but If you like this type of novel I highly recommend it.

v1c1: For now I just want to say it's not a NTR, I am saying this because it seems at first like the villain stole the MC's harem, but the truth is ... more>>
Spoiler

that the villain is yandere for him and only turned his harem against him because she didn't want to share his attention

[collapse]
also I think we can all agree that the "main harem" will be the villain organization who saves him

v1c4: the story itself is very interesting, but the grammar gets quite confusing sometimes, not enough to be unreadable, but it's annoying sometimes (no clue if it's the author's or the translation's fault). As far as the characters are concerned it's similar to the author's other story where they are based on classic harem tropes with circumstances forcing a pure hearted protagonist to be evil, but I think this story won't torture the protagonist as much since he actually starts the story with some allies who understand his circumstances <<less
