His Marriage Partner is Scheming

The rebellious, rich second-generation Chi Xueyan was forced to go on a blind date for the 11th time. He cut straight to the chase: I have a hot temper, I snore when I sleep, and I haven’t deleted my countless exes. If you can accept it, we will get the marriage certificate on the spot.

The handsome man named He Qiao sat opposite him and was silent for a moment with a strange expression. Then he nodded and said he was a book transmigrator. He knew that Chi Xueyan was the supporting male villain in this novel role and would become the future marriage partner of the protagonist Lu Siyi. He gradually lost himself in an increasingly paranoid unrequited love, did all sorts of bad things and eventually died.

He Qiao couldn’t bear to see Chi Xueyan, who was still active and healthy, end up like that. Therefore, he proposed to marry Chi Xueyan to avoid the plot. In any case, he was a workaholic straight man who only wanted to use the information from the novel to develop his career for the benefit of the public.

Chi Xueyan heard this and suddenly realized: Use advance as a retreat and use the typical schizophrenic symptoms to scare off blind dates. This person was an expert.

He decisively remembered this trick and waved his hand to pay the bill as his token of appreciation.

Soon, Chi Xueyan ran into a handsome man who completely matched his aesthetics. Moreover, he didn’t hesitate to take the initiative to ask for the other person’s name and contact information.

As a result, the handsome man replied with an indifferent expression, “I am Lu Siyi.”

Chi Xueyan: “……!!!”

This name was too familiar.

Two weeks later, under the gazes of his relatives and friends, Chi Xueyan affectionately exchanged rings and kisses with his 11th blind date and the mysterious book transmigrator, He Qiao.

Initially, He Qiao was very wary of Chi Xueyan, the scheming and vicious villain of the novel. After the two of them cooperated to pretend to love each other and tricked their families into allowing them to get married smoothly, he planned to focus on his career and not interfere with the other person.

However, Chi Xueyan finally settled down from the chaos and started seriously studying the novel’s plot. He would occasionally come to the company to find He Qiao.

Unlike the arrogant and willful boss’ wife that the employees imagined, Chi Xueyan mostly curled up on the sofa with a small blanket while quietly reflecting on his 2D life.

Occasionally, he would raise his head and ask, “Did Lu Siyi never like me at all?”

“…Yes.”

“He has no vision.” Chi Xueyan sneered and rolled over. “How did he become the male protagonist when you are obviously much better than him!”

He Qiao didn’t know why, but the investment plan in his hand suddenly became unsatisfactory.

What a scheming villain.

On the first anniversary of their agreed-upon wedding, He Qiao arranged the most romantic dinner and the brightest roses. He met Chi Xueyan’s blank eyes and finally asked the question he had been worrying about in his heart for a long time.

“You have a good temper and you sleep very quietly so…” He Qiao seemed casual. “Is it true that you haven’t deleted any of your exes?”

Chi Xueyan: “……”

What a scheming straight man.

All I can rmember is I enjoyed this novel. ML having a vague/knowing about the story approaches MC [red haired on pic] and tries to save him from going the wrong path. At first MC is confused but somehow gets convince on how the story flows. MC is straightforward and there's good development of their relationship. ML is green flag and MC of course fell in love with him. MC always compares his ML to the one he should pursue according to the novel haha.

It's a really good novel! It just doesn't fit my preferences (which is why I'm probably not going to finish it). I prefer more action and drama, but this is soft, subtle, refined, and full of deep emotions. Very good, but so far it's a bit too slice-of-life and calm for me. Gives me josei/seinen vibes.

The premise is unique, and you can feel that the characters have depth. It's very warm, and the main characters are mature and delightful.

Writing an unplanned review out of petty spite for MsKumiko because omg, their complaint about why they dislike the MC is so utterly baseless. This is a fake marriage novel. She complained about MC breezily introducing ML to a sexy former blind date guy on the day of their wedding. Their FAKE WEDDING. To be perfectly, slightly spoilerifically clear:

Spoiler

Their FAKE WEDDING that occurred soon after an Ambiguous Moment where the MC asked the ML about himself rather than the character he was transmigrated into, and got that slightly out of line (considering their previous agreement) request carefully, delicately refused. To be super clear, the MC put out "I'm interested" vibes and got turned down. What in god's name is he supposed to do after that, pine sadly and rush to pretend he's some untouched virg*n flower with no romantic history at all in every possible situation, for the sake of someone that has clearly expressed that they don't want to get further involved? That the MC adjusted his emotions and moved on to treating the ML like a good friend after that unspoken (but again, OBVIOUS) rejection was one of my fave details about this novel.

[collapse]

Even if you were coming at the introduction from the POV of "would this be appropriate" as far as public opinion (of the people at the wedding), considering the personality of the MC, there's no way that introduction wouldn't have been made in the exact same way. None of the people who knew the MC would have found it strange that he'd invite that one blind date he demonstrably became friends with rather than dating.

I think the thing that irritates me the most about the complaint is how childish it is, and how much in contrast its implied demand for rigid demonstrations of sovereignty or, idk, comically distancing oneself from anyone who you've ever been on a date with once you get married, is to how grown up the novel feels even while it's gunning for the key fake marriage tropes. The original protagonists feel like real people, the one villain type character feels even more real (yet just villainous enough that you understand the need for a standoff with him), and the way the MC turns his nose up at the person he was originally supposed to be doomed to fall in love with is satisfying even without exaggerated face slapping and public opinion blowouts involved.

TL;DR: Please bring reading comprehension to this quite good novel if you want to try it, istg. <<less

This book isn't even completed by the author yet... Who is giving a low rating already??? This is the most enjoyable soft yet realistic character writing I have read. These leads have personalities of people that are so similar to friends I have irl. This is how you do a "unique" character without screaming to the reader "IM UNIQUE". All the real unique people I know are like this, strange yet aware and self reflective. Their thoughtfulness is so realistic without being preachy or overdone. Their romance is slow but... more>> soft. I AM EAGERLY WAITING EVERY DAY FOR AN UPDATE FROM THE REAL AUTHOR. This is ya soft boi romance with thoughtful considerate leads.

Idk if it will end well. But this character writing alone does NOT deserve a low rating imo. The book doesn't even have an end yet and the characters are amazing... Hooollly hold ya horses yall. At least wait until the author is finished writing the novel damn lol

-----

Edit: I think it's ending now and I enjoyed it a lot! It's just a sweet lovely short novel filled with realistic chasing and romance. The plot is pure romance and it doesn't uncover anything more than that plot-wise. Personally I'm not disappointed bc of the real, interesting dynamics between the two leads. If you have ever been that guy or girl (or been a friend of one) who is really good looking, smart, witty, and interesting (while also being nice & approachable), then u know bc they have so many options that they can get bored no matter WHO is chasing them bc they've seen the same things a thousand times; they know they have so much to offer and all they want is some mystery and fresh romantic chasing to truly pin them down. you will nod and truly see how hard our MC worked for the ML in a very SMART way. he got the guy. GG. This is realistic to me lol. It's just well done.

Although all of the lose ends have not been tied up yet (maybe it will later or idk the author said they're writing extras), I don't know why but I don't care. This soft, not dramatic romance is enough for me!! <<less

The story has a strong almost poetic ending that ties back to the beginning of the novel. A very happy second chance story with just the right amount of revenge. The positive changes the two have made have a strong and happy ripple effect through the people they have saved.

I have a lot of hope for the extras. I hope the ML's brother, He Xiao, will regret his original plans and come out of the hate that has been consuming him. I am also curious about what changes have happened... more>> for the original gong protagonist and love interest of the villain. Much of the bad ending in the previous life was a direct result of this "protagonist's" misunderstandings and mistakes. Will he never grow now that the 'villain' hasn't entered his life to be a scapegoat? The main story was really good so I won't be disappointed even if the author ultimately does not cover these details. <<less

I mtled this novel.

About the story

ML encounters MC on a blind date and confesses he's a book wearer and that MC is destined for a tragic end, doomed to fall in love with someone who misunderstands him and treats him poorly until love becomes hate and MC loses his life. This novel is a gentle slice of life story with zero dog blood that explores the character development of both MC and ML as their fake wedding slowly becomes real. This novel is not romantic in a conventional sense but... more>> rather filled with prose and meaning. I liken the novel to a gentle drizzling rain on a summer day.

About the MC

MC has a very unique temperament as someone who delights in the unexpected in his day to day. He is very perceptive and thoughtful, yet reserved and distanced. He is someone who can find beauty and fun all on his own without anyone else, which makes it very hard for anyone to approach him.

About the ML

ML is very gentle and persevering in taking every step to achieve his goal of surviving in the world he's in. As the novel progresses, his quiet persistence, gentleness, and support towards the MC shines through, allowing his character to grow through the experience of slowly falling in love.

About the romance

This is a very unusual depiction of romance by CNovel standards so if you have expectations of plenty of passion and intimacy, this novel will not meet those expectations. Rather this novel approaches love from a soul to soul connection. You can catch hints of how MC and ML feel for each other from their actions and words. Everything is understated and subtle but also very heartwarming. This is a novel for a rainy day with a mug of something sweet, reading two people slowly falling for each other and opening themselves up to new and different experiences. There are mysteries and secrets that are revealed over time. Read the extras because they really unveil some key plot points.

TL:DR

Read this novel if you would like a slow and gentle read of two people working together to change their tragic fate. Don't expect conventional passion and intimacy because it's not really that type of novel though there are moments of intimacy. This novel will make your heart glow warm and bring a smile to your face. However people who prefer fast paced novels may not like this. I would still recommend people step out of their comfort zone to read this but I understand that the subtleties, pacing and lack of drama may bore some readers. For those who risk giving this a try, I hope you will find it as beautiful and poignant as I do. <<less

Spoiler

I had to drop this due to my strong disdain for Chi Xueyan. He's essentially a player who continuously "teases" Qiao with extras everywhere.

Am I supposed to find that funny or cute? The only interesting aspect about Xueyan is that he's from a novel and has red hair. Otherwise, he proposes marriage to He Qiao, and then continues to meet an ex blind date (who was apparently SO perfect) ON THEIR WEDDING DAY, and go "oh are you jealous?" When He Qiao messaged him.

Seriously? Go to hell. Expeditiously. I wish that He Qiao had been given a friend group, so that Xueyan could've met someone to light fire under his flight behind. Because he started of being a indifferent, which I don't mind, and then went into douche bag category FAST.

I HATE the MC and feel that ANYONE else would've been a better love interest. Didn't bother to see if it got better

Writing and translation were amazing. I only liked He Qiao out of everyone else <<less

I had so much expectations for this novel. Long story short, it didn’t meet such expectations. I felt like I just wasted a portion of my life trying to read this. The writing takes on a kind of poetic sense, with a lot of metaphors and it just isn’t for me. There was a lot of mysteries build up from the start and it just somehow got resolved in a most anticlimactic way possible. The author just uses vague symbolisms as explanations of what happened. It just doesn’t work. Give... more>> us details. Give us a clear resolution. It was established there was a big villain, another villain, and this is what happened to the protagonists. And all that are just not important at all. Because of course we have the ML and MC that are loved by the gods. Alright then, maybe I’m just s*upid.

I have so many things I wanted to add, but I am getting lazy.

So, let’s go with why you should read this. Although the title says there’s scheming which kind of makes you think of revenge and whatnot, there’s really not much of it. So there isn’t a lot of complicated plot twists and all that. In relation to this, of course there isn’t much angst and drama as well. Even the way the MC supposedly died in the novel was not specified, so it’s not that upsetting. You can just detach yourself and forget about that detail. The story focuses on how the MC and ML fall in love with each other after marriage anyways. Their interactions are depicted to be quite soft and fluffy. So if you want to have a sweet and light read, give it a go. The translator did a great job with the translation, especially with the author’s writing style.

And even though I can still find myself to encourage you guys why you should read this, I am still giving this a low rating because I just felt frustrated with this. Just let me vent. Okbye <<less

Tbh I didn't feel like finishing this novel, it's a REALLY slow burn and that's not my cup of tea. The MC is not interesting though the novel tries really hard to make you think he is, the "romance and fluff" comes mostly from He Qiao rather than being a two-directional love kind of think, the first chapters until the wedding make me really excited about the plot and the love between the protagonists but after the wedding it suddenly drop out and the "poetic" writing started to bother me... more>> so much, like it's fine if you want to write beautiful things about the surroundings and your MC but at least make that useful for the history, it's a whole chapter just describing a boring ass date

Spoiler

in which is mostly MC draging He Qiao to do something he likes "spontaneously" (even tho it's the least spontaneous thing) and He Qiao just enjoying because it's an activity with MC.

The love of He Qiao was so beautiful done and you can feel how troubled he is on how to show it and wondering if it it's the correct thing to do, I really like his character and how the author manages him but this comes soooo insignificant in compare on how the author portrays the MC, the novels it's mostly on Chi Xueyan perspective and, he is an a**hole. Don't misunderstand me here, he is a good person? Like has not done something beyond awful, but he is just bland as rice, the author wants to makes us believe he is the most impulsive person but he never shows any of that, instead those traits became easily "selfìsh", he nevers take consideration on He Qiao feelings even tho he mentions "he got feelings about him but dismissed them" in a way to avoid being hurt, that didn't make me think of him as a big brilliant sun type of person haha, those traits come out of nowhere, he is an only child from rich lovely parents, why is he so afraid to be hurt? Idk, I didn't like him, the author tried to gaslight me to think he was some impressive interesting character but I don't see that on what I'm reading, instead I'm tired reading a WHOLE chapter of him remembering his past, memories that doesn't affect in any way his feelings towards He Qiao or the situation they're in (dates or actions).

I read another review saying that He Qiao didn't got a group friend and that was a shame and I totally agree with that, the most interesting character in this novel was He Qiao and he didn't have another escenario to convey his personality but around Chi Xueyan (who it's the most popular and likeable guy in the whole city apparently)

It got me really frustrated and I was only at the half of the novel, just seeing Chi Xueyan bragging about himself in every chapter and caring less than less for He Qiao, he was just a roommate even tho it was OBVIOUS that He Qiao liked him, even more, He Qiao asks Chi Xueyan how to confess and when CX explains him, He Qiao does exactly what he said the next day to CX and CX DIDN'T NOTICE IT WTF. If you want me to believe that he was dense then don't make him super "emotional know it all", cause in previous chapters he notices when someone is flirting or making moves on him even tho they were minimal and then, out of nowhere he didn't notice He Qiao likes him just because He Qiao told him he was straight like bro.

Oh, and I have to bring out the birthday date, I MUST bring it out. So, He Qiao birthday is on 24th December, what a magical date isn't? Well, He Qiao asks Chi Xueyan to "celebrate his birthday with him", how does Chi Xueyan reacts to this? He is annoyed, cause he thinks that birthdays are s*upid, I mean, he says something along the lines "birthdays are special dates to people, but for me, birthdays aren't that of special days because I can make any day, a special one, candles, cakes, decoration, presents, all of that are BORING" So, he is annoyed with that request of He Qiao, but since its a request from a past favor, he agrees, also, he compares the organization of a birthday as annoying as doing office work haha... whatever, so, when He Qiao told him that he can do whatever he wants for his birthday, as spontaneously as it may be, he would definitely like it, now, guess what Chi Xueyan did for He Qiao's birthday?:

a) Take him to work as a Santa for kids

b) Take him to eat exotic foods

c) Ride a parachute

d) Going to other country just for fun and swim with sharks

e) Take him to college

Did you guess?? Right, COLLEGE, what an incredible, spontaneous, fun and special thing to do on a birthday. And in the whole day, it was all Chi Xueyan talking about HIS OWN old days at college, going to the library, describing the scene, college students asking Chi Xueyan's number, meeting old Chi Xueyan's friends (all of which Chi Xueyan never tell that it was He Qiao birthday), going to the school cafetería (???, wtf, what an ass boring birthday, even more, when they return to their home, He Qiao said to Chi Xueyan if he had prepared a birthday cake, which obviously nope cause he thinks that is boring so he feels suddenly guilty and he said in a very annoyed manner "Oh, should I buy one right now" and He Qiao is obviously disappointed but he just said it's fine, that he doesn't like sweet things and then, CX makes him a cake, yeah, suddenly he knows how to do desserts... because when his parents fought he would make them desserts...☠️, like 6 whole chapters for a college memories bomb, that was boring to read now imagine being there in your birthday and I didn't knew that Chinese students and teachers were in school after 23th December omg. This made me think that the author is not an adult or at least, not a college student, because you don't want to go to college anymore after graduation unless it's like for remembering good times with friends not in a BIRTHDAY and even less with someone's who didn't go to that college in first place.... That's how boring, selfish and bland the spontaneous things Chi Xueyan does during all the novel, the only true impulsive moment was when he proposed the marriage but even then, he was joking and after prove out that it was a novel, it's when he finally makes it definitely, it's not a spontaneous thing to do, he thought it, so he doesn't fall onto the villain path, a very straight out option.

And apparently it's a reborn novel, that makes it worse, just a lot of plot holes, and from the reviews I read, they never acknowledge them. So whatever, He Qiao best character, the other ones are unconditional fans of Chi Xueyan and the bland ass self centered of Chi Xueyan. This kind of novels are why I started reading gong pov.

[collapse]

Pretty good novel, if it wasn't for the "Gary stu" MC I would have loved it, there where chapters or moments in where the novel could have gone another path and make it a better tight read, but overall, if you like very slow burn, poetic style, a majority center MC novel with a gentlemanly romantic ML who's world revolves only around MC then check this out, for me is a nope, trust whatever review you read here, the ones with least stars have similar problems with the novel and the 5☆ loved it for the same reasons so, decide whether or not your going to read these on base of the reviews and you may save time (unlike me)

Edit:

Spoiler

HAHAHA I read another 5☆ review describing how realistic, interesting and strange the MC was and explaining why and honestly, that was just a pick me behavior haha im so sorry, like really really sorry, a relationship is supposed to be equal, if one "has so much to offer" and the other one not or at least, the kind of "entertainment" the other person likes, realistic-ly, that relationship it's doomed to fail

Completed the main story, and it was just so amazing. There isn't drama, or revenge or anything crazy. A lovely romance that bloomed from a flash marriage between a transmigrator and a villainous character.

The characters mesh so well together that it's so incredible. I love the family interactions, the ML's close friends and even his job.

ofc there are definitely some questionable illogical things (and maybe theyre solved in the extras idk) but its such a calming and soothing read.

I couldn't handle how boring it was.

Real rating: 1.5/5 stars

Spoiler

- The title was misleading and I hate it because there was basically no scheming involved AT ALL. I love scheming characters and there was basically none of that in this novel. I've seen other stories with the main couple scheming together and they're so much better and interesting than this novel, with more chemistry to boot.

- It's so boring that when I found the chance to move onto another novel, I ran so fast that by the time I finished reading it, I realized that I couldn't come back and continue reading this one because I think I would throw my laptop away.

- The romance was so bland, I became extremely irritated by the MC and ML by the time I came to the middle of the novel.

- Almost every chapter ends with "Kiss with the flavor of ____" from the author where the blank space is something that changed the MC's and ML's relationship. I would like to ask. What f*cking kiss 😐. Sometimes, I'd read the chapter and come to the author's note and I would wonder if they were trying to gaslight me into thinking romance happened.

- Honestly, I'm only halfway through the novel, but the parts I've seen made me dislike it. Both of the MC and ML like each other (I think) but the way it feels makes it seem really one-sided and it feels as tho only the ML likes the MC. The relationship between them started bc HQ told CXY that he was a character within a novel, but you don't feel the chemistry starting. Like I feel as tho if you replace HQ with someone else, the "romance" still wouldn't have felt like it started. It's just really bland. CXY doesn't show anywhere that he likes HQ for who he is or for anything else. It feels as tho HQ could be replaced by another person at any second and I wouldn't be surprised if CXY "liked" him, if you could even call whatever he's feeling "liking" someone.

- The story has too much of an emphasis on CXY's "randomness" but it doesn't make him feel special or interesting. Removing it wouldn't change anything bc HQ is just designed to love him for no reason. Also there's too much emphasis on CXY's intelligence and charm, but I don't particularly feel it? Like I didn't feel attracted to this character and even when he had his "cool" moments, they felt insincere and detached from the story and emotions. He didn't feel charming or smart at all and he just feels like a rock with a sticker attached to it that's supposed to make him "eccentric but lovable". I wished I could've liked this character, but it's impossible because CXY is created to be "perfect" with all of his "flaws". Honestly, he just felt pick-me.

- For a romance novel, I didn't feel or enjoy the romance. The tension bled out so fast that I couldn't hold on. I also didn't feel any attraction between CXY and HQ and it feels very boring. I think it's meant to be a mature and slow, gentle romance, but it just feels dumb and stony. A fish and a rock would have better chemistry than these two.

- In chapter 38, the MC thought something along the lines of "that was an obvious assumption to make" when the ML revealed information about the novel plot. I want to state, here and now, that it was NOT an obvious assumption and it felt very s*upid.

- Plot points drag on random things too much. I don't even remember what they were tbh, I just remember that they were tedious and I was waiting for it to end.

- The plot dies at around chapter 35. After that, it was an uphill battle to continue reading for me.

- There was a lot of "telling" and not "showing" within the story. Case in point, the author's notes, where they had to tell me that something progressed in the characters' relationships.

- This story also had a lot of my icks, such as not communicating, a weird moment where MC takes his ex-blind date to meet the ML at their wedding and the ML gets jealous (it doesn't result from anything and the MC didn't really mean it either, but it annoyed me like it did others), as well as no romantic or physical chemistry. Honestly, I almost wanted to ship their moms together bc at least they were more interesting compared to how boring the MC and ML are 😒.

[collapse]

There were a few things I enjoyed, like the fact that their romance had basically little to no miscommunication and how calm it was. But overall, I would rate this novel very low because it's just so uninteresting. <<less

A very soft novel with an interesting premise. It's a slow, gentle but very meaningful love story.

Highly recommend the extras, they tell the story of the 'novel' and it is very interesting (and also so sad)

We also get their daily couple life in the current timeline and it is very sweet. Yes, MC deeply loves ML. Don't ever doubt it.

Sweet story but not much scheming. The title makes it look like there is a very clever plot but it's actually pretty basic. The 1st half is interesting because the two "villains" are trying to avoid their previous fate and the leads are mentioned. The story becomes a bit stagnant in the middle cause the 2 villains realize their feelings for each other but nothing happens. Last part is fun because they finally start to chase each other. However the main plotting against the leads is done quite quickly with... more>> no clashes again so it's boring in terms of "scheming".

I loved the part where these two a chasing each other and playing games, being jealous. <<less

Only read as far as currently translated, but I love it so far! Just a few things that are worth praising: the unexpected profession of Chi Xueyan, the vivid personalities outside of the main couple, the realistic but subtle struggle with reality and existence that the awareness of transmigration and living within a novel evokes. This story is beautifully written and the author has a talent in describing human relations and experiences.

4 stars instead of 5 only because so far there is a lack of tension and I have a... more>> slight worry that this story won't build up to a climax but instead maintain the current pace.

I have high hopes and look forward to reading the rest of it! <<less

The writing is very poetic and subtle, not sure if it's just the translation, but either way it reads very much like a dream. I got bored by the midpoint because the slow burn wasn't really going anywhere, and once ML realized his feelings, the feelings were still just so subtle. I like when characters are obsessive in love with each other and these two are instead very calm about their feelings. There's no passion, no romance, just gentleness.

The POV is shared between MC and ML, so there's no sense... more>> of mystery as to how either character is feeling in any moment. They fall in love basically at the same time, and there's no sense of pining or will they won't they energy. There's no real underlying plot line other than the romance for a majority of the story either, so it's very much just a slice of life romance.

Not a favorite for me personally, but the translation quality is great and it's not a bad novel by any means. MC has some interesting qualities but ML is just a blank slate of a human for the most part, and he has nothing really driving his character. I feel like I would have been more engaged in this story and the romance had the characters themselves been just a bit more interesting, but as it was, this was overall a bit too boring for me, even by slice of life standards.

Had to skim through the latter half just because I didn't care about their relationship anymore but wanted to see how the story would end. Honestly, not sure if it was worth it still lol <<less

Best transmigration story, which only focused on love, no revenge, no face slapping, not much interaction with book's og protagonist instead making life better and work for betterment. Apparently not the typical book wearing story. ( ꈍᴗꈍ) MC was eccentric, his behavior and personality was beyond normal person. But that was unique in a good way. ML was the sweet kind a little bit scheming person. He was the yes man in front of MC. And The reason behind it will be known in later chapters. So yeah they... more>> were complementary to each other. ( ◜‿◝ ) ♡ If I might say the negative aspect from my POV it would be the lagging in story in the middle. Too much aesthetic wordings that I find boring. But the author put their novel in such a poetic style. So, I've no complain about the writing. Love can defined in a simple words or complicated words, and I find it show off if it's worded complicatedly.¯_ (ツ) _/¯

Give it a try if you want some new transmigration story which is not cliche. (~ ̄³ ̄) ~ <<less

I read all the good reviews about this novel so I had a lot of expectations about this, I was so excited to read this but I ended up kinda disappointed

It’s a good novel but as one reviewer mentioned, it’s quite poetic. I’m not good at reading between the lines so the romance fell short for me.

This novel feels like a boat in a very calm river, not much sway, just staying still ~ that’s how this novel feels for me. There’s not much excitement or thrill but it... more>> gives a calm feeling...

If you’re looking for ^ then give this a try :) I didn’t like this novel but that’s just my preference. This novel is still worth trying! <<less

I don’t usually comment about the novels I read but I just have to say that this one right there is a masterpiece. I love the progression of the story, the natural flow of their relationship and I absolutely adore the ML.. he’s literally perfection : considerate, thoughtful, meticulous, etc...
When reading this novel, I felt like falling in love all over again and I’m don’t really do relationship. It just means this novel is great like that.
All through the story, I was smiling unconsciously at their interaction... more>> and their everyday life because it really represent the ideal relationship in my mind.

One detail I particularly like :

Spoiler

the fact that in the OG story, the MC liked the OG ML is so sweet. I loved the silent confession. As I’m not really a big fan love gestures and expressing my feelings. I find the gesture of telling the image of love in your mind as really meaningful.

Anyway, I STRONGLY recommend this relationship, and thank you for the translator for making us discover this beautiful novel. <<less

This is so good! I adore it very much! It's a very well written romance with a warm and mellow vibe. I enjoyed every single moment, every single chapter. I'm one of those readers who was chasing after the serialization. Awaiting for a chapter every night is daily happiness.

I cannot put into words how wonderful the entire atmosphere of the story is. The complexities of characters, love that is just 'right', the details of love, to live without regrets, the results of ones' choice. It's like what an ideal life... more>> and romance is supposed to be like. This is my favorite author. What ought to be explained was explained, it was a pleasant reading experience. I can't wait for this author's next story. <<less

How lucky I am to find this treasure! Wonderful characters, wonderful language (even a clumsy translation in browser did not spoil it), wonderful relationships and development of the story, the absence of clichés and annoying villains and rivals in love, almost zero drama... Definitely a masterpiece!🥲❤️ I hope there will be some extra chapters, because I don't want to part with characters:<

This is a brilliantly written, very unusual story. The author is amazing.
They have a unique way of storytelling, and because of that, the whole novel is poetic, heartfelt, and romantic. It is gripping, the flow is perfect, the plot is interesting, and the characters are lovely and peculiar. I can't name a single thing that I didn't like about this novel.

At first, I thought that this novel would be about revenge, but surprisingly, it was about love and freedom. From the very start, it was intriguing, and the author... more>> set a great atmosphere. Characters from the beginning were interesting and outstanding.

The author took a completely different approach from other authors of the same genre. In most novels about transmigration, we know the plot and characters beforehand. We know how the protagonist transmigrated; we know his previous identity and his new identity, but the protagonist always keeps the fact that he transmigrated a secret till the end. But in this novel, ML from the beginning told MC that he transmigrated, but apart from that, we don't know anything. Who is he, why did he transmigrate, or where is he from? We learn everything slowly. That's what makes this story so unique and intriguing.

I loved both MC and ML. MC is a free spirit who is attracted to everything strange and unusual. He has unique views about love and life. ML is a quiet, serious, and mysterious person. He seems ordinary, but every person is special in their own way, just like our ML. Their relationship and interactions are not typical and somehow perfect.
The romance is very good too. This is the case when you know from the first meeting between MC and ML that they will fall in love. You can feel chemistry between them; you don't doubt why or how, and you just enjoy the process of developing their feelings. Seemingly, two different people with completely different personalities who shouldn't have anything in common match each other perfectly. And there is no misunderstanding; they communicate perfectly with each other sometimes, even without saying anything.

The author mostly focused on the relationship between the protagonists; till the end, it seemed that they didn't intend to explain why or how ML transmigrated or explain his identity, and strangely, it even didn't matter, but everything was revealed in an extra chapter, which made me shed a tier. It was a sad and heartbreaking story.

I loved this novel and would recommend it to everyone who enjoys well-written stories and appreciates them despite their genre. I wish I could write as well as the author in order to give the review that this beautiful story deserves, but unfortunately, my skills are limited. This novel is unique and stands out from other stories. It is definitely worth reading. Also, I want to thank the translator for translating and sharing this wonderful story with us. <<less

It's great!

This is the story of two people getting to know each other and the courtship of one towards the other. It's very slow-burn but terribly cute. The characters are fleshed-out, believable and their antics (mostly MC) are enjoyable to read about. Highly recommend as a cozy read.
