Two things fill the mind with ever new and increasing admiration and awe, the more often and steadily we reflect upon them:the starry heavens above me and the moral law within me.—Immanuel Kant.

When Xule read these words, he looked up the sky. He felt anger instead of shocked by the words.

In Xule’s mind, the stars are so blinding that no one can tolerate them. And if anyone were lighted by the stars they will become idiots.

So Xule gave up his dream as a graceful naval commanders auxiliary officer, and now he begin to fall as a pool doorkeeper… He does not even know what he should follow and where he should go in this Great Age of the Spectacular.

Xule, a citizen in Eastwood, came from a half-deserted star. With the ingenious and strange knowledge from some unknown power in his body, he stepped into a equally boring and interesting world.

JianKe’s world must be so fantastic.

This is far better than way of choices

I loved every second like nightfall and joy of life

It's frustrating that I can't find another novilist like mao ni who takes time and develop a nice plot (has a lot of chapters too), Only novels which I have read that com close are Douluo Dalu, Human Emperor and Gate of God.

Guys any suggestions for a similar novelist and wuxias?

You know what? I really enjoyed the info dumps inside this novel. And the frustrating part is probably that's the only aspect I enjoyed while reading this novel.

Here we have big mechas, spaceships, a society of a certain future, and many other interesting things. To top it off, here, we even get to see two different political systems in existence, contenting against each other in different ways. But surprisingly, despite having so many things worthy of praise, this one doesn't have those things which used to make my eyes glow... more>> every time I used to read a Mao Ni novel. You may wonder what is more important than Mechas? For me, it was the way Mao Ni used to write his characters and how everything in the pages of his other novels used to be smoothly connected to the life and style of characters. But here? The characters are too forced, their actions seemed way too forced to me, their intentions seemed too mundane to me, the plot was too simple for me, and in the end, I was left with no interest whatsoever.

Usually, I used to pull through the slow moments of a Mao Ni novel because of how he wrote his characters and the way they brought the world around them to life, adding colors to the slow-moving background. Here, though, it is not the case, there were no characters who really did anything to make me look past the slow advancement of the plot.

Many times to this day, I have seen many people complaining about how the way Mao Ni writes reeks of superficiality, and in the past when I read his other novels, I used to disagree with most of these people. Well, for this one, I am afraid, I will have to jump on the bandwagon. Reading this one was really annoying at times, especially with how annoying some of the characters were. And here we also had several young masters, and you know when they used to pop up? Yes, right at the times our MC was spotted in the wild with some beautiful female creature, and boy, those moments were annoying. Never really thought I would get to see this young master species in a Mao Ni novel used so much, I guess he was trying to pass some message here? Well, bad for him, young masters are the worst kind of messengers a novel can have. Apart from the young masters and other characters, I really disliked how the MC was written. I mean if you have to write an MC with a good moral character, then go for it, but don't shove it into my face. In Mao Ni's other novel, Ze Tian Ji, we had an MC who also had a good moral character, but there, it was more like show-but-don't-tell, but here? It was more like tell, tell, tell...

Well, if you can overlook the above-said "problems", then go for it. Like I mentioned above, the things that are happening in the background and the background where the things are happening are really interesting. This one is not strictly sci-fi, it is still fantasy mostly, but here the story uses some sci-fi elements in a really cool manner. So if you want to read a GOOD fantasy story, with sci-fi elements peppered over it, then this is the one. Go for it. Give it a try.

As for my complaints about the characters here, to be honest, they only count as complaints when you compare the characters in this novel to the way Mao Ni usually writes the characters in his other novels. So, this is just a comparison to his other novels. And I am sure the characters here are still much better than most of the characters you will find in the web of the Chinese web novel industry. So the characters are just relatively bad in my opinion. You might find them much more interesting when you read this book. <<less
