Ji Fanyin realized the moment she transmigrated over that she was a stand-in, a substitute for her younger twin sister, Ji Xinxin.

“Sure, I can be her stand-in. Here is my list of prices. Take a look at it first, and make sure to reserve a slot in advance. I won’t accept any last-minute calls, and do take note that it’ll only be a platonic relationship. Thank you for your cooperation,” she said.

In a western restaurant, a rich young master looked at her with eyes filled with affection as he said, “Xinxin, I would like to ask you out for a movie tomorrow night…”

An alarm suddenly went off.

Ji Fanyin took a glance at her phone before reining in her business smile, saying, “Time’s up. I need to rush for my next appointment. Make sure to foot the tab, and farewell.”

The rich young master’s smile froze up. “I’ll reserve four hours for tomorrow’s movie.”

In the middle of the night, a drunk, tyrannical young master dialed her number and whined, “Big sis, when will you come over to meet me?”

“In order to ensure the quality of service, this call will be recorded. It’s four in the morning right now, and my services will be ten times the usual price. Are you certain you want to proceed?” asked Ji Fanyin.

“… Hurry up and start acting!”

Ji Fanyin’s phone suddenly rang in the midst of a date with a domineering CEO at Tokyo’s tower. With a smile on her lips, she rejected the call and said, “Sorry, it’s another customer.”

“… I’ll pay you ten times the price. Switch off your phone.”

By the time Ji Xinxin finally returned back to the country, Ji Fanyin successfully retired from the scenes with the massive fortune she had amassed.

Heh, bad women will never get hurt!

I really liked this novel.

I won't say the premise is the most unique or anything. There were some things that were left kind of open, but those were understandable. If anything, I feel like this novel ending where it did was more than appropriate. In general, it ended as a feel-good and satisfying read ^^.

I DIDN'T EXPECT TO LOVE IT THIS MUCH.

Our MC, Ji Fanyin is a ruthless woman. She's crafty, witty, manipulator... I love her. She deals with the sc*mbags without reserve.

And the ML, oh gosh, he made me feel as if I ate honey. Truly a darling. Though romance is not the focus, more like a bonus after reaching the end. Very satisfying.

hmmm... just revenge and seduce?? the romance here is not my kind of romance as it's mostly one way?the girl revenge and go back to her world? My only fav part is probably the ending where 1 of the ML waited for her his whole life and went to her world. Overall 6/10?

Love the execution of the main plot. Love the ML and FL. Love that the FL never wavered. Though the way ML met her again was very deus ex machina. Male lead was not introduced in the plot summary 🧐

It was really good, I enjoyed reading it. Some parts were funny, and seeing Jo Fanyin leading those people by the nose and getting them to give her so much money even though they can’t stand her at first was quite funny. I liked that the new JF gave the people who caused a lot of harm to her their own medicine, and I’m glad that the novel didn’t just end after the new JF went back to her original world and instead explained how she was brought to a... more>> different world, and why the things with old JF and her sister happened. I’m not going to read the next chapters, but there’s apparently late romance so I’d be glad if MC and Shen Qi got together, and given I’m a fan of yuri, I think it’d also be nice if old JF and Cheng Lin ended up becoming a couple <<less

One of the best transmigration novel I've read. It's a bit of a Mary Sue story so there's a lot of Mary Sue troupe within the story but I feel it's one of the better Mary Sue story. Overall I enjoyed it much more that I thought. I think it deserved the 4.4 rating that it has at the time I'm writing this. I gave it a 5 because I felt it's more than a 4.0 story. Also I wanna praise the translator for doin

Now is it perfect? Of course... more>> not. There are definitely section of chapters that I've skimmed through. However, it has fairly good length and complete storyline. It also doesn't have much of any filler and isn't overly long that drag-on. Also has a good ending that wraps up a lot of the storyline.

Originally like another user, I was intrigued at the main protagonist. And while initially, the idea that she's essentially "selling herself" kinda irks me but you'll quickly find out she has strong principal and doesn't do more than she thinks is necessary. She see her clients as all flawed individuals that needs to be taught a lesson...I never felt she overdoes it. She seems very fair and impartial.

Another user gave this a 1/5 star on this story because of how tr*shy all the other male characters are. However, they are not simply token villains that evil for the sake of being evil (except her parents which are total evil characters that just doesn't make any sense -- however they are such minor characters, I didn't feel it drag down the overall story much at all. In the end, you'll find that most of these male character are ultimately

Spoiler

tragic characters.

The more I think about it after reading the whole story, the more I felt how tragic they are. They ultimately all in their own way realize the fault of their action and try to seek redemption. They seeks forgiveness and ultimate the MC never gave it to her because for her:

    1. It's not her position to forgive them because ultimately she's not the same person as the original owner of her body.
    1. She didn't think they deserved a second chance. Meaning she can't just start liking them and give them a chance to date her.

People makes mistake and everyone deserved a second chance. However the 3 male characters (Bai Zhou, Song Shiyu, and Li Xiaoxing) simply want to essentially apologize and go back to time undo their action in a way. However, that is simply not life. Sometimes you can't just go back in time and can only move forward. You can't just say sorry and then pretend their past actions never happened. So MC was adamant to NOT give any of these characters a second chance with her. When Bai Zhou and Song Shiyu realized this, it was very satisfying and tragic at the same time. Li Xiaoxing, on the other hand, had to begrudgingly accept that this fantasied version of herself no longer exist.

I really enjoyed the outcome.

[collapse]

The first 40 of so chapters was honestly kinda repetitive to me and I almost drop this story. But things to me didn't pick up until midway. And what happened in the latter half is very satisfying to me, which (if you read a lot of these web novel) doesn't always happen like this. So the story started out with an upward trajectory, then went downhill, but finished strong. So I urge that that just read halfway to give it a chance but obviously it's not perfect and I don't expect everyone to like it as much as I do.

Oh major spoiler below, DO NOT READ if you haven't read the story yet.

Spoiler

It not much but at the end, I love that the original owner of the body came back. Throughout the novel it's hinted that she did and even the MC didn't know if she'll come back or not. The original Ji Fanyin had been essentially observing the MC and the action she took how she's living with her body. However, when she came back she didn't try to mimic the MC but ultimately also realize the action or her action (or rather inactions) and its consequences and lives knowing she had been graciously been given a second chance in life. So she took this opportunity be assertive but never out of her own character and live out the life that she wanted. Quite often when a MC takes over a body you never see the original owner ever.

And it shows the MC in her world and although I think some reader love it, I didn't find it as interesting.

[collapse]

Overall a very satisfying read. I don't think it's perfect but I haven't felt this satisfied with an ending of a novel in a while. <<less

The MC is cool, calm, intelligent and fiercely independent.

My issue with this story is that it gets monotonous. Every chapter is very similar. At first, it was interesting and it was great seeing the way she manipulated the different men and her sister, however as the story goes on, it becomes repetitive.

It's a solid story with fleshed out characters. The pacing is a little slow. The MC is just always 10 steps ahead so it's like she is waiting for things to happen as planned, then they do, then she... more>> does what she had planned.

She has a healthy attitude towards her work and is very clear about each part of her life.

I am invested enough that I want to read to the end and find out what happens, but this isn't a story I would read again and I would only recommend it with a caveat.

I have a soft spot for the college student. <<less

I really like the MC. She's very professional, delivers what she says, and pursues her goals without getting entangled with the relationships more than necessary.

There's not really much romance in the story with the real ML, mostly just a few chapters at the very end. But it's for a good reason.

Spoiler

She really does leave that world and go back to her own world! The person who sent here there in the first place is only explained very little though.

At first, I was really frustrated at how the characters treated MC. But then as I continue reading, they basically ate their own words to the point that I, as a reader, felt so bad at how they turned out in the end, especially to this one character.

Spoiler

I think his name is Shiyu. He basically died at a young age because of the guilt. He mistreated the original body/person, and was one of the reason she committed su*cide.

[collapse]

MC is very ruthless, a woman of her word, and she's very professional at "work". She does not forgive anyone who mistreated the original body/person because it's not her place to do so, which is basically true. But the ending of some characters made me sad, but I guess it reflects reality at the same time.

I wasn't really surprised with the twin sister plot twist. I actually have been expecting that "that" may be the case.

The ending is good too, I think that it's a very well deserved ending to characters who had been good until the end. I also felt proud/applaud that one character who did their best and didn't waver until the end lmaoo.

Spoiler

ehem.. Chen Yunsheng... ehem... Good for him lmaoo

I love it! I'm a fan of groveling stories and I really liked how our MC is so heartless as she deals with her clients. She's so OP too - she has 5-star acting skills that made her road to 10 billion a piece of cake for her. She's also very skilled in manipulation and in connecting the dots. She has high IQ and EQ, everyone likes her. I'm so glad that my bet for the ML was the one who got together with her in the end. The romance... more>> bit was too short. I wanted more, I need extra chapters where we can read more about their relationship. <<less

Writing/Translation

The translation I read is by Hosted Novel. Very good, no complaints at all. Zero grammar mistakes, spelling errors etc. I was invested and I got into the character's head no problem. I didn't feel disconnected from the story's events or characters, which is a good thing!

... more>> Plot

The plot was so so. In the end, we only dealt with just 3 (and a half? Kinda?) of Jinxin's suitors. I was admittedly expecting like a whole lot since it was mentioned that she had like 8 "high quality" fishies haha. My impression of the synopsis was of the MC running this highly successful, busy business with many clients in all kinds of scenes. But I guess it is expected because of Jinxin's target requirements, handsome and rich lol. I wasn't sure how all the horrible people were going to get their comeuppance but it was satisfying I suppose. However, I felt that the MC just didn't care about them so much that I didn't feel much hatred for them except for the Ji parents so it was really only them that I felt truly satisfied. For the rest, she dealt with them so calmly and professionally that they also acted less infuriating as in their first couple of interactions that I didn't really get riled up at them ahaha. I liked that everything ended nicely and didn't seem to have any loose threads. Overall, I liked the structure of the story, it has a downtrodden girl, replaced by a badass transmigrator who then proceeds to scam all the bad people out of their money and then get them their karma lol. There were no instances where the MC had any trouble.

Characters

The MC is very calm, smart and a laid-back person personally. It's just that since she is in this situation, she has to work to return home. There is no character growth for her for both good and bad. Nothing fazed her. She is likeable enough to follow. The side characters were interesting for what little screen time they had. The female friends really only got better once she left except for that one person. The fishies were an okay bunch to follow. I kinda pitied Bai Zhou because he's young and most of his problems stemmed from his poor upbringing. In another romance novel, he would have been a bad boy male lead. Song was just a bad guy, no pity for him. The crippled rich dude was interesting and I quite liked him when he was employing the MC. Then, once he got engaged and the retribution started, it became what it is. For him, I didn't feel any hatred towards him or anything because he didn't really do anything bad onscreen to our MC, so I was feeling ambivalent towards him. So the karma towards him was just something for me to read basically. For Cen, he was there for a bit and then only in a few short scenes later. I don't have many thoughts on him. The Ji parents were the ones I really didn't like. So horrible. Their sense of entitlement towards our MC really made me dislike them so whenever they got humiliated, I felt very satisfied. For Jinxin, our main villain, she was just so so. She has no special reason or interesting twisted thinking for opposing our MC or original older sister or for gathering all these suitors. Basically, she wants to be shown love and feels jealous that her sister was more prodigious than her. She was always like 10 steps behind our MC and all the schemes were lukewarm and had already been predicted rather blasely by our MC so there was nothing exciting from her. For the romance with Chen, it was okay. We don't really focus on him much. He is cute and that's kinda it for me lol

Pacing

The pacing was good, neither too slow nor rushed. It felt just right.

Themes/What It Tried to Achieve

For what it was trying to do, a face slapping by a calm and smart protagonist, it did okay. The only problem for me was that it was almost too calm lol. And that the "villains'' didn't act horribly enough on screen to really make me hate them. Either the bad things they tried to do to our MC had so little impact on her that I didn't particularly take note or it all had already happened to the previous original big sister and that the MC didn't seem to have any feelings about avenging this original sister on screen that any face slapping or revenge that happened felt a bit lukewarm for me.

The romance was a bit meh for me. I felt no chemistry with the guy.

I rated this a 5 because I quite enjoyed the plot, face slapping and the strong FL.

That said on face value, it was fun reading it. But on a deeper sense, I felt that the FL was built perfect, she already got life figured out. She's cool and sophisticated, and bulldozed her way through OG body's weaknesses. But I felt that I couldn't cheer up for the moral of this novel:

This is super spoiler make sure to read to the end before reading this!!!

Spoiler

I felt that the FL was litetally someone like handyman and repaired the OG body's path. Then OG body just walked on this road. I mean she did change for a tiny bit but ANOTHER person had to show her the way. You know life isn't like this. When you mess up you have to clean it yourself (or if you're rich someone'll do it for you, I digress). I would have preferred if OG reincarnated or was reborn to truly feel that satisfaction of her overcoming her battles.

[collapse]

Also, this character was unnecessary:

Spoiler

The god/FL's assistant that was thrown in by the author to explain the soul swap. But didn't explain why he fell for her or a reasonable side story. Tsk! Would rather have some mysterious vague force swapping people than to have another character in lurve with FL *rolls eyes*.

Spoiler

Before I went to read this novel, I read a review and 'spoiled' myself in a way. I remember reading that the ML is MC's personal assistant. When I officially encountered him during the time I was reading this novel, I was like 'What about CYS that I really took a liking to?!'

To be honest, this personal assistant just comes and goes, doesn't appear that often. When his identity as a 'God' was exposed, it felt so sudden as though it was rashly thought on the spot to explain the phenomenon on why JXX dreamed about the MC and on how MC even transmigrated in the first place.

When I was nearing the end of this novel, that was when I knew that the real ML was CYS and not that personal assistant/God. I was actually conflicted on who should I support at first. I wanted CYS to be the ML since he gave a lot more impression to me with the MC than the personal assistant, but then I remembered the review I read some time ago.

Anyways, I'm definitely satisfied that he's the male lead.

This was surprisingly good; well-written, formed characters, and enough face slapping to carry you the whole way through. I loved our main character and truly don’t see her actions as deplorable as some other commenters have. She’s a very forward and yet sly character. She has goals but will still hold her morals along the way to reach them. Overall, great story.
