The original novel that Suzaka Shina’s manga “The Liar Beside Me” is based on! Blessed with top-notch brains and looks, Takase is generally satisfied with his life, and often notices Itou Yuuichi, a man who waits at the next table over at the coffee shop where Takase meets up with his girlfriend. He notices him because the person Yuuichi’s always waiting for is a man. Yuuichi’s happy smile when greeting his same-s*x lover dazzles Takase, who’s been desperately denying his own attraction to men. Things with his girlfriend fall apart, and he has no reason to keep showing up at the coffee shop, but after a chance reunion with Yuuichi…?

This was so f*cking pure and wholesome I'm so !!!!!!!!!!! aggressively rating this 5/5!!!!!

The MC's cowardice, the ML's fear... for a short story, it was really handled well!

And their moments together aren't the usual fluff in typical webnovels but still so damn sweet and cute and I was smiling the whole time tf it was pretty realistic too for an adult relationship no cap

Reading this will definitely put you in a good mood!

A quite realistic story of one's struggles with changing the status quo and coming out. And at the same time, rather sweet~

It's not *all* rainbows and sunshine but a little rain does make the sun coming out afterwards that much more refreshing~ if yanno what I mean xD

Such a sweet short story. Wish it was longer. Though MC knew he was more attracted to male MC finally decided to come out after he broke it off with his ex girlfriend. MC tried his best to win over the broken hearted ML. ML can't get past his ex boyfriend mainly because he was mistreated so badly he cannot trust anyone any more. It's sad to see how poor he was treated in the past. But now he have MC to love him. So sweet, a must read.

Awwwweeee Yuuichi baby, you deserve only the best! ♥ (ˆ⌣ˆԅ) I'm so happy that Takase-san is such a sweetheart, although he's a little coward at first, he's very much aware of what he truly feels for the MC, I guess it makes his character more realistic, imho.

This is such a short story with realistic plot and with right amount of sweetness between our CP.

Also, special mention to Tooru, that bastard! ლಠ益ಠ) ლ, The audacity! Ugh!!

Short, sweet and very realistic.

MC's fear of being alone making him settle for just anyone, I'm glad he gave the ex the boot.

ML's struggle with coming out and his cowardice turned bravery in the face of something he wanted desperately.

This story is about looking within, facing fears and finding the strength to hold on and move forward.
