There were some funny moments but mostly it was a story of MC and Co being mean and OP. I read it offline from an epub made by a friend and I thought wow this mtl is not bad, despite pronouns, and negatives and ppl's names being mixed misplaced and confusing throughout the whole book, you could still understand it pretty well, and then closer to the end there was a translators note... oh, that was a translaaaation...

Btw read some negative comments about ML and I am very surprised cz... more>> compared to the most of the ml's in danmei this one was not that bad he did not abuse MC, did not physically force him into s*x, did not ignore his requests in bed (though there is not much about s*x so we do not know for sure but it did not seem that MC was hurt or tired or complaining). Yes he is typical OP ML but he was pretty good to MC which is unusual for danmei.

But the book was very misogynist, the positively displayed female characters were non existent. In the last arch one of the characters even turned gay cz women are just not worth it... yeah well in fantasy world maybe, but irl look around and in most cases all the crazy and sick stuff is done by men, just read criminal statistics... <<less

Overall a pretty easy to read and I quit enjoyed (No need to remember complex schemes and boring history lessons). What really carried in the beginning was the MC but it story does get a bit repetitive with its shameless and jokes.

PROS:

Characters all have their uniqueness and get their own back story. They are also not just kicked to the curb once their backstory is over.

... more>> Love the relationships between MC and his subordinates. They really give the feeling of friends that been through a lot together.

The shamelessness of the MC is to a degree that is quit rare in most novel. It is actually quit refreshing. (But it does get old if it’s the same thing over and over again...)

CONS:

ML’s personality change was too unnatural after MC’s identity was revealed. He was like a completely different person and there is no foreshadowing to it. At first he was a honest and cold character with a thin face but his pursuit of MC was honestly kind of cute back then. After the reveal, his face got so thick you left pondering where it came from. I think this made a lot of people dislike him. It would’ve been cuter and more fun read to see him struggle honestly to make up to MC. And then the MC finally giving up to his honesty and feeling bad for his constant teasing of someone who treat him so well.

ROMANCE in this story is VERY lack luster. Although the story is center around the MC and ML’s relationship... it is written in a way where there is no spark and chemistry. Even after 100 chapter in you will still feel there is absolute no progress. I really think this is due to the lack of adding emotion to the writing. For examples, their first kiss should’ve of been a big deal for us readers and makes us giggle in our seats but it was very forgettable because it was written as “ML force kiss MC, the end”. That is so ‘dry’.... like describe how he was kiss, what are the sensations, what are characters thinking... etc

There is no smut in this so don’t bother if you just looking for smut.

MC and ML are so overpowered whenever situation becomes hard, they don’t really have any set backs. <<less

First time commenting so this is gonna be short and probably not that informative but please bear with me.

    1. First of all the story itself is great. I love the MC but the ml... not so much. First of all MC deserves waaaay better than the ML in my opinion and I think ML actually holds MC back *sigh* but what can you do?
    1. Second, the plot is great but I see people complaining about the lack of 'setting' aka background details and stuff but honestly I just think that's... more>> just really digging for something to complain about. Yes the setting is barely existent but like... who cares if the story is good ? Are you here for a geography lesson on made up places and worlds or to follow in on the adventures of the ML and mc? Pick one you cant always have both the author isn't a sentient being so chill
    1. So far that's all i've got. I've never been good with informative writing so I'll maybe update this review later if need arises.
Lastly if you're an impatient person like me and really cant wait for updates once a week then this book isn't for you -yet. This translator updates ONCE a WEEK that's 48 or so

chapters a YEAR so if you hate cliffys and just plain waiting, comeback in 3 or so years. But either than that this the translation is superb and well done but I hope translator san gets a team to help them for faster updates.

The previous translator has dropped the story

so sad. And the new translation is complete garbage and not to mention the website their using has a lot of miss-directing adds which I suspect is actually just a phishing site

I-I cant pinpoint why this novel was so familiar to me when I picked this up this week.

I realized that I have read this way before but decided to drop it for some reason. Reading further I realized why. Ive had red flags as early as chapter 40 which I purposely ignored. Which was so dumb on my part for ignoring my instincts.

If not for the several characters I would have dropped this by chapter 50.

  1. I like the witty remarks and the mc's wording without care of face.
  2. I like the sidekicks which is as eloquent as our MC.
But I absolutely abhor this ML to the bone. I cannot pinpoint why as his character is an amalgamation of several ml's. The author picked up several traits (which id assume is the... more>> authors "type") and slapped them in this book.

  1. Domineering CEO (just the domineering part without the pampering)
  2. Scum gong (a mixture of of a pardonable slug and a slug without redemption.)
  3. A character of a netorare manga (they guy the wife would cheat with)
Mix all of these and you'd have Zhuang Hao.

Just a few more chapters and id have finished it but I just can't take it anymore.

3.0 stars and thats me being generous for the translators sake. If I purposely ignore the translator then it would easily cascade to 1.

Reading the comments on some chapters im glad im not the only one who despise this ml. Reading the comments here and im glad more people think the same. The masses eyes are bright indeed.

This is a problem you don't encounter too often in these webnovels - too much attention on the side characters.

I'm fine with side couples mostly. But this novel has the balls to create a dogblood misunderstanding plot with a side couple I couldn't care less about.

If you want me to give a fig about these characters, create a separate story for them. But I'm dropping this because the only characters I actually care about - who are supposedly the protagonists - aren't really part of the story anymore and I... more>> have a feeling their romance will probably be the last to be focused on and there are way better novels to spend the rest of my time on instead of being expected to sit through paragraph after paragraph of uninteresting side characters.

I wasted my time on this though and for that I'm a little miffed. <<less

I loved this story to bits when it was first starting. The whole premise of having multiple secret identities while they're being seen as a waste was exciting. The MC was sharp-tounged and it provided a lot of gold humour in the story. The chapters up until the revelation were good.

However, it started to crumble down when they started to strip off their masks. The humour became repetitive, and the face slapping was almost boring. Yi Fan is only the one that made me want to read this. The ML,... more>> well not justifying his s*upid actions but he's not that bad of a person. He's just fresh in love and doesn't know what he's doing. I still find him annoying though.

I don't recommend this to read in one go cause the humour goes stale but other than that it's a good read to pass your time. <<less

At the beginning I appreciated that arrogant but stunning personality of MC. And the story was really entertaining in every aspect.

BUT!!!! the whole mood was completely broken by the cliche-story-plotting, where ML MUST get the upper hand no matter how s*upid it looks like. (*`д´*)

... Of course, he can try to use an actual brain and rise the real feelings by supporting and pursing the one he likes. But... KEEP DREAMING!

Who needs relationship when you have a submissive seal to ruin the plot and readers attitude. Personally, I hate... more>> how the author brings this cheats. I mean - WHY would you build a supper-self-powered character for whole 100 chapters just to ruin his personality by this f*** cheat?

I am really angry, wahhh, don't want to continue reading.

This one is incredible.

Everything is just good until the MC got discovered by others. The MC and ML really hadn't gotten in depth yet and there's no romance for now????

I expect more things to come because I felt like Everything Is perfect but I feel like it is going downhill when the MC is exposed.

... more>> For now, we can see that the ML is actually the one getting bullied by MC not ML like other novels. He is very shameless, they say birds of flock fly together.

Ahhh I feel like dropping it right now that he got discovered because it's getting a little boring and ML and MC's interaction isn't intimate which I hope will change later on.

There are no sweet and hot part yet and that they haven't even done it or kiss. Currently chapter 91~

The thing made me rate this 4 star is because I think something really important has been forgotten and it's about the "master and s*ave contract" between the MC and ML which literally is making me want to drop the novel.

Just this fact alone literally ruined the storyline.I hope they will mention this later on or else I'll drop it.

Story romance incredibly slow and it's not the main attraction here it's like a side dish~

It's mostly about comedy and adventure with many elements of the terms magic and revenge. <<less

This story is perfect for filling your free time, although it's true that some of the male leaders look problematic, but its not to the point where they are completely a**holes.

So yeah, it can be said that some of the negative comments that written here are just simply exaggerated.

Last, rather than a story with an adventure plot, this story is more like a story with a revenge plot.

That's because the whole story is mostly talking about how MC and his teammates seek revenge against people who mistreated them in the... more>> past.

Only in the last few chapters, you will see the author make stories about them having adventures (MC and his team/friends).

For the ending itself... this story has a very rushed ending.

This can be seen from the quality of the story, which has greatly decreased after the revenge arc.

This happens because after the revenge arc (main plot), this story just floats anywhere without having any purpose.

The worse is, even though the main plot of this story has been completed, there are still many details of the story that are left behind.

This all happen because the author is not careful in completing the details of the story and only focuses on one thing (revenge plot that each character have).

I forced myself to like this. I really did. I remember giving this a try way back but couldn't get through the first 20 chapters. I'm now around chapter 40 and I feel like I'm forcing myself to read this.

The writing is really not my cup of tea but the MC was sort of weirdly interesting. The ML was just ugh. Ugh. Like not in a red flag way. Just in a way that isn't attractive at all. ML is described at perfect in almost all aspects but despite the... more>> setting and writing being almost crack-like, the ML felt like a friggin child.

I'm still keeping at it because I'm hoping the ML gets bit*h slapped in the face for his decision and I really hope MC's way of dealing with the ML won't be disappointing

Edit: holy f*ck never mind. I'm usually pretty lenient towards scummy ML's and psycho ML's but this one was just a huge gigantic turn off. I like MC and in the beginning I even almost shipped him with Yi Fan, because seriously the ML is a major ick. I stopped where the translation stopped. I think it's was a good stopping point. I am guessing MC and ML just doing to Dual cultivate to power up afterwards against stronger enemies from other kingdoms and Empeor etc

I LOVE MC from the beginning he was so on point and sassy. The things he was saying made me rolling on the floor laughing. But then at certain point he stopped and ML became the shameless one like their swapped bodies which was weird... then it was like daily life and stuff.... more>> I can tell enthusiasm from the author fallen alot by the time it reached 100s which was a shame. The forced marriage move by ML really damped the mood. What I would've done is put in a strong rival in love from another country and make ML regrets his decision in the first place. Not my thing honestly.

I'm not quite far into the story but I can basically summarize everything in a couple of sentences. Make money, get strong and a school training arc. It's your standard martial arts story where the MC gets strong but with the additional bonus that he also wants to make fat cash. I think the story begins to get stale for me after the MC's identity is revealed. Maybe it's just me but I'm not particularly invested in the romance either, I quite like the banter they have... more>> instead. The story of itself is more on doing plot stuff (probably stuff like curing people, finding herbs, resolving conflicts that's probably able about the power struggle of the nobility of royalty, etc..) so the review about this being mostly a romance story seems kind of bullshit. The MC carries this story and it's evident, his personality, skills, all makes this story good and pulled me this far into it. The plot just got boring for me tbh. Yi Fan is another character I think made this story great. He's not in it as often as the others but I adore him. The MC's relationship with his friends are great as well and I like that they all rely on eachother as they're kind of similar in a way.

For the beginning of the story I have to say that the writing was not great. Perhaps it's the translator, maybe the author but there were a couple of repeated words and the transition between different scenes/where a specific character is, is never written sometimes. It does get better the more you read though so maybe it was a translation issue, idk.

3/5, not my thing but I enjoyed some of it. Recommended for those who like martial arts danmei and the MC being strong from the start. <<less

I really like this. The MC is shameless and because he's known as a waste publicly but has a second identity as the ghost doctor he promotes himself all the time. He doesn't hold back at all when complimenting himself. And later he gets contacted (you know, like between human and magical beasts) by the one guy he actually hates and everyone thinks it's a marriage contract and is so happy for them. But it's a master servant contract and he isn't able to cancel it. I love it so... more>> much! <<less

The story is a bit dialogue heavy and, at times, the description is sparse, but I really love how narcissistic and petty the MC is.

Two people show up at your house uninvited and demand that you divorce their friend? Make them wait for hours and then finally show up with hair dyed to the extreme and face so heavy with makeup you look bu*t ugly.

... more>> Ex-fiancé trying to seduce your alter ego? Insult him at every opportunity. Make sure to praise your original identity.

The family that threw you away is trying to schmooze your alter ego? Ignore them. Tease them. Insult them. Embarrass them.

Someone who looks down on you attempts to break into your alter ego's house to beat you up? Poison him in a way that makes him ugly for two months.

Someone else who looks down on you tries to take your money and then breaks into your dormitory? Let the traps handle him. Leave him bedridden and in pain. <<less

The MC is a super-sassy gay man who cracks me up. He hides his appearance using disturbingly heavy makeup when he's using his real name and wears a mask when going by the moniker of "Ghost Doctor." I adore his personality and love his hidden identity. It leads for a lot of funny moments when his no-good family is trying to schmooze up to the doctor and his ex keeps flirting with him when he's disguised as the doctor.

The MC has no interest in showing off to woo his ex... more>> back, which is a relief. He is more concerned with earning money and treating his patients. He has a business venture going on in the background with a couple of friends of his, which actually also makes him incredibly wealthy.

He was thrown out as the tr*sh of his family when he was only five years old, but he's hidden his claws and made a killing by hiding his identity. This is a very fun read and I recommend it.

However, there is very little information given about the setting (I think it's a magic/martial arts/sci-fi-ish place???), which makes me drop the rating to 4 stars. <<less

@xtruthxliex, some of novel didn't add explanation of their world magic and stuff like that because that explanation will be explain in some events like battle or found something mysterious.

And this novel will do that in the battle event between MC and ML.

... more>> And please, all because of ambigue from novel (or manga), is for making some vibe that author can add more and more idea story like adding strange character, stuff, animal ect.

Hmm for my comment of this story,

Maybe you all will not like MC first, but MC has his own reason. MC didn't like how ML see his own character without research. Remember MC is 'doctor'. MC will allow someone use assassint for seeing his own activity (just from where the assassint come from, is the limit he can give).

MC is very funny, can't stop reading this novel hahaha (σ^▽^) σ poor ML always be fooled by MC. Dense ML who can't see the darkness of world (bc he is young master).

It's ML. He's such a turnoff.

MC is very interesting and the face slapping was satisfying. But MC was right about ML, he's very immature.

So what if he's rich, talented, and from a good family? I was hoping that he'll get a character development once he figured out who MC. But nooo, he had to force MC into being engaged with him with the effing master-s*ave contract. He's like a privileged kid who makes a tantrum and forces people when he doesn't get what he wants. And people know that MC doesn't like him and was forced but they're like, "Oh well, at least you got engaged to him. That's progress" Like wtf seriously.

So yeah. Dropping this again.

Hhonestly this would have gotten a 8/10 however I dropped it to 7/10.

The author has too much ambition. I mean its good but still.. It's very distracting from the main plot. Like when the side characters get married back to back non-stop. This I feel that it is very unnecessary. Really overrides the plot. The only reason I persevered through is for the MC. He is really funny and charming with a good personality. He deserved better fr. Well, I have already read this quite a few times and this review has long been over due. The MC is a really witty man who can tongue-tie anyone in "any sort of situation" and I repeat "any situation". It's not only his remarks but even his abilities can make one go speechless. (Abilities in the sense magical as well as his abilities to earn money). He is a very hilarious character. His transition between his doctor and student self is a great one-man show to watch. His interactions with... more>> a select few side-characters, such as his colleagues/partners-in business, his principal, the ML's one friend who has been tripped by the MC several times and the sub-villains who always get beaten back by the MC through his unique tactics.

Despite it being fun to read in the initial 50+ chapters, it falls flat for me towards later stages. That's because MC's counter-part aka the ML's role seems equivalent to that of a passersby. I feel like the ML really drags down the MC's character. He's the straight-faced type who can't take a joke and doesn't really know how to counter it. I think an ML who can banter back and forth with MC or at least learn to do so, make him go speechless and make us readers laugh out loud is really crucial in this sort of plot. At least, I felt like the dynamic between both the characters is bland and ML's character does need more work. But overall, it's a good past-time read and also one of my all time favourites. If you like an MC who knows his thing and is smart, charismatic and witty then go on ahead and read this. It'll definitely be worth your time. <<less

I'm really disappointed... going off the title and synopsis I thought it would you know... be about MC striking back & getting to see his character develop over time along with ML... but NOPE! In the beginning it was pretty decent lots of potential! BUT after 50 or so chapters it just started focusing on all these side characters and their relationship problems. I thought ok... its normal to have 1 or 2 side story romances... but then instead of focusing on you know... THE MAIN CHARACTER & THE MALE... more>> LEAD it just keeps focusing on side romance after side romance! It feels like the author just stuck a bunch of MCs they created into one story to make it one a longer novel. The story will finally go back to MC&ML for a couple chapters in between these side character romances & instead of seeing MC and MLs relationship develop its just them continuously dealing with other peoples BS n jealousy! Hardly any even just fluffy moments between them! The first side romance we see with yi fan was fine he wasnt annoying or anything but the second one with the Dragon emperor guy... he was a lil annoying but the 3rd guy zuo something the one that gets with qi heng, he needs to get his a$$ beat. Hes an incredibly irritating hateful character. As it progresses to each side character romance I found that every gongs personality get more annoying and irrational n just straight up hateful. & just when I thought zuo would be the only super irritating gong another guy just comes out of nowhere n abducts MC right after MC n ML got married! This dark dragon gong then threatened MC to cure his lover whom he (Dark dragon) Put into a coma. he constantly threatens & insults MC n ML and not only that after the lover wakes up he attacks MC for something that his scum lover did... I hate when all the gongs (Tops) meet up with eachother only to pull the whos D**k is bigger BS when it comes to their relationships, treating it like its some type of competition! The only reason I haven't dropped this novel is cuz im already close to finishing it so I may as well. The reviews saying there was pretty much 0 romance r true, there is no relationship development all these pairings r pretty much just thrown together with a shallow backstory & even when they are together theres little to 0 romance involved... They need to put the title of this novel instead of Rebirth waste strikes back it should be The Group of Wastes Strike Back since this novel seems to have multiple MCs....

All in all if you want a headache & dont mind being constantly irritated by this ragtag plot and its characters then read at ur own discretion.
& NO there is no naughty naughty scenes with ML & MC or even the side romances... hell there isnt even any fluff scenes.
