Lu Lingxi died.

As a child born by his parents through precise genetic matching, for eighteen years of his life, he lived entirely for his brother, who had leukaemia. He was his brother’s shadow, a “medicine reserve bank” for his brother’s treatment needs.

Umbilical cord blood, stem cells, bone marrow… whenever his brother needed it, he would have no choice but to quietly lie on the operating table.

Until the last time, when his brother needed a kidney and he never came off the operating table.

When he opened his eyes again, Lu Lingxi became a teenager with the same name Lu Lingxi.

Freed from the shackles of his fate, he possesses the mysterious ability to communicate with plants.

Raising flowers, gardening and running a farm, Lu Lingxi begins a very different life!

The story is a light read, heartwarming and enjoyable with MC being given a new lease on life. Quite honestly, it was an entertaining journey and I binge read it. The character development is quite nice although some developments are too fantastical. But then again, this is a fantasy story written towards the wish of a better environment, the first of its theme that I read.

The 1 star deduction is due to ML, the way the author portrayed him in the first half of the story just made me uncomfortable... more>> although he became mature and more likeable later on. Just the fact that his portrayal in the early parts made me think of grooming made me already feel a sense of rejection towards him. MC is all naive and clueless, I get the idea of pairing him with the complete opposite personality but the execution was poor in the early parts just like I said. His possessiveness wasn't cute, so were his intentions. All those mind games just to keep MC by his side wasn't likeable. Even his jealousy over a dog or anyone else who approached MC was very much repulsive to me. Not cute at all. Good thing the author refrained trying to justify his mind set later on to the point of being logical and reasonable or I wouldn't have really kept reading. <<less

There was so much going on, the unexplainable power that MC got, the past life hatred that left on the background, ML psychological well-being that never been cured, flora/fauna evolution then in the extra animal turned into human 🤯

It's modern era setting with no cultivation so it was kinda spontaneous.

It's a 6 out of 10 rating for me.

The story is great. I love the MC. ML is manipulative,
Spoiler

I didn't like the part where he guilt tripped (?) The MC when he kissed him against his will. It irritated me a tiny bit cause it was their first kiss

[collapse]

I also didn't like some of the author's view in life.

I might pick this up again when I don't have anything else to read but as of now, it's bland. It was fun to read at first but starting when the MC and the ML got together, everything went downhill. It was getting repetitive and I don't think I can stand it for another 100 chapters. I read many reviews saying that it's an excellent read and maybe because it's my mood but I just can't pick this up to continue reading anymore.

I can understand why some dont like this one, however, for me, it is one of the best! The premise is really attractive (to me) and while MC has power of nature/plant care, its in a somewhat realistic manner, he still has to care for plants and grow things. ML isnt all that toxic, here and there at the beginning, but not to the same extent as others. I highly reccomend, especially if you’re looking for heartwarming fluff that can be a little serious here and there

It's alright, it's just not for me. I didn't like the ML and MC and how they got together, even though I understand their character settings. If someone else likes it then that's good! The chapters I actually enjoyed are the extras, the sidepairs of Fang Lei and Xiaohui... This novel just wasn't what I expected, but I can see maybe someone else enjoying it.

A pretty good fluffy slice-of-life story.

Pleasantly surprised that ML had yandere tendencies, but never really acted on them. He was a good guy overall and should be a model for other yandere MLs (lmao).

Another pleasure of the novel was the amount of plants and interesting plant facts that were mentioned (like the victorias). The translator helped provide a lot of links and I learned a lot of cool things about plants in the process.

I gave this novel a higher rating due to the excellent translation and the fact that I... more>> actually learned a few things after reading, which proves that the author did their research. <<less

A good story with very little drama. It's a story about environment, plant and how to care for world.

MC in this story is a simple and sensible person, that live in simple world but also complicated world, and protected by ML. While ML is a complicated man, that live in complicated world and wish for a simple happiness.

In this story, you might also found karmanic circle. In which rule of action and reaction can be seen from what happen to MC's ex family. Also see how ML manipulate the situation... more>> to repay what happen to himself.

This story mostly remain us that we need to care for our world to be able to life in a happy comfortable environment. And that happiness also can be a small and simple things.

It is a farming and slice of life story. Don't expect any action or too much drama. <<less

The young man was innocent but not s*upid, and Yan Yue didn’t want to frighten him with his recklessness. He wanted Lu Lingxi to gradually get used to his presence and slowly accept his transformation from a stranger to a friend.

When Yan Yue was studying abroad, he would occasionally go out hunting with his classmates. When a good hunter finds his prey, he has to have enough patience to wait, set a trap and then strike when the prey is close and unaware. Yan Yue had the patience and enough confidence. Kinda dissapointed with this one. I really like it at the first half. But the second half of the novel kinda dissapointing. Dogs and cats eating grapes, even eating chocolates. Snakes eating cakes. Makes me wanna curse. These are toxic to animals. Pls dont try ot to your pets at home.

Yeah. Giving it a 3/5. I tried to finish it until the end so not to be biased.

3.5/5 for now, I will read till the end eventually. A slice of life novel with a touch of romance. I suppose it was good, but not my cup of tea. It was bland, repetitive, and honestly at some points, cringy. This novel had an excellent start. There were some elements that can rouse some interesting points of conflict for the MC. But he chooses to ignore them completely as he wants to avoid confrontation. He doesn't want to be involved with his past family which is understandable. He is in a new body and has a new mother. And I like how in the beginning he acknowledges the body's previous owner, but it gets forgotten down the line. Honestly, I wish he looked more in the past of the original Lu Lungxi. But he just focuses on dealing with plants.

Honestly, I was drawn towards the summary of this novel. I wanted to see how the MC handle his family problems and deal with plants. But it's not that.
Spoiler

It's literally a MC using his powers to cultivate and tend to plants. Most of the text is him taking care of plants. And when he doesn't understand how to solve a problem. He throws it onto the ML (actually the ML just asserts himself and makes a point in making sure the MC doesn't have to do hard stuff). Simply, MC encounters something he doesn't like to deal with and the ML comes in and solves it for him. It's so repetitive I got bored of it. There is nothing wrong with relying on other people for help, but the MC was hands-off on things (except for plants) that it really made things bland for my taste. The MC main character trope is taking care of plants. That's it. And the funny thing is, I don't think he would be interested in plants if it wasn't for that system of his that allows him to see the traits of certain plants.

[collapse]

The plant stuff was interesting, but contains too much information for me. Every chapter felt like I'm getting stuffed with plant info that I will never need in my life. The names of the plants were given, and I have to search on Google to find how they look like. At first, it was okay, but the author kept introducing more and more plants. I couldn't keep track of them all. So unless you are a plant enthusiast, then you would find yourself skipping paragraphs as it just a lot of horticulture or plant physiology info.

The cringe factor is given to the fact that for some apparent reason, being near the plants that the MC has touched or cultivated makes people feel rejuvenated and feeling very good. At first it made sense, but down the line, it just made me cringe left and right. Dude if I can stand next to a plant and feel good, my whole house would be filled with plants by now. Honestly, this "feeling good by being near plants" gets repeated so often that it becomes unbearable for me to read. The author wants makes it seem like you have to have a plant to feel good and rejuvenated.

Okay this is my personal opinion but I hated how the author introduced so many characters. It was very hard to keep track of the names as some of them were similar. Furthermore, sometimes the side characters serve no purpose to the plot. It's nice that every character in the story, even the random neighbors, were given names, but it got to the point where there were too many characters. The MC two original body's best friends were given names but never show up ever again. Like why give them names if they don't ever show up.

Oh yeah, pets in this novel, very unrealistic. I owned a dog and definitely believe you should not follow this novel's example of how to tend to pets.

Romance 5/10. I'm sorry. Although I like obsessive and possessive ML, this felt kind like grooming to me. I understand his want to always have the MC by his side, but the way they establishes their relationship is a no go for me.

Spoiler

Abruptly kissing someone and confessing your undying love to them because you were impulsive is a no no. Also the MC just letting it happen and for some reason accepts it??? Bro wtf, like how about just going on a date first. Wait they didn't have their first date yet, instead they are already cuddling in bed and making out. They need to talk about the relationship. Establish how they truly feel. The ML doesn't have a talk with MC about his psychological problems. The ML doesn't tell him about his obsessive desire to control the MC. The MC should know these traits of his lover so they can work things out. Or find a middle ground. It's so rushed, and so weirdly paced. I honestly don't know if I enjoyed it or just tolerate it.

The story is nice but I cringe at the ML.

He gives off a predator vibes. The MC is 18 but he's basically an innocent baby. I did not enjoy their intimate interactions, I always cringe and skip it through. I feel like their relationship is a bit fast. I mean it's obvious that everyone knows ML is a pe*vert but can't the author create a better back story. He doesn't care bout his mother, father but still suffer psychological problem, a weak ass trait, doesn't match his domineering character.

Well I... more>> like the concept though of being environmental lover it made me cry a few times. But the kissing scenes of the ML & MC, were just gross to me.

I read smuts but why can't the author make the age of the MC older. He doesn't even know s*x but he's getting taken advantage by a pe*vert/old man. 🤮 <<less

It was a good read and I enjoyed the MC and ML's interactions a lot. MC was naive but it was understandable why he turned out like this considering his previous life. I enjoyed the plant/ farming element but I think the book would have been better without the development of people being able to communicate with animals. That said, I really loved Da Hei so maybe I could have made an exception for him.

I prefer the 1st part of the story. The gong obsessive dark where as the shou is creating calming peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. Works well I think.

The 2nd half of the story is a bit bland. I do system novels and love plants myself but I felt the author was a bit random and focused too much on certain things and not enough on things od rather read about. Some plot points were kinda pointless like the part in ancient forest near the end. And there was a lot of... more>> possibilities to develop the plot to make it more interesting. I feel im not satisfied the family matters were solved I felt it was kind of a case of just finishing the whole issue in a matter of a sentence.

What really annoyed me was the unrealistic feeding habits of the animals. I do realise it is a fantasy but dog eating grapes and tiny snake eating other sweets is just beyond me. I cant help but think someone will read this and really feed their dog something they should not! In conclusion it was ok, but because of my experience of 2nd half im not sure I would go as far as recommending it to anyone. Having said that im giving it 4 stars which is somewhat high for this review but I also couldn't bring myself to give it lower since I liked the 1st half. Mixed feelings <<less

2.5 This just wasn't my cup of tea. The translation is great so rounded up.

The MC was too 1 deminsional, his actions and responses are often described as obedient and that is what he is. A boring obedient, niave, 18 year old whose character doesnt grow.

Spoiler

also was weird how he is so sweet and innocent with a heart of gold, but had no qualms about taking over another's body. Especially his attitude with the mom, I mean does he not realize all her affection he wallows in his for her dead son, not actually for him. I know in rebirth novels it's like this, but they usually have some hesitation or show some gratitude.

[collapse]

ML is the cookie cutter rich CEO type, complete with a none loving family, childhood trauma, and inheritance battle.

Romance was meh. I'm okay with age gaps in stories as long as they are both legal, but this one felt off. The MC is set up as so niave that it feels like the ML is grooming a child. Not to mention, the ML fell for the MC's hippie feeling and smell he gave off, not the MC's personality. The relationship was so unbalanced and I was never convinced that the ML actually fell for MC, I think he just liked how easy he was to control. MC fell for ML because he was groomed that way by ML.

The whole plant thing was a cool idea and I was excited for it, but I didn't like it in practice. The info dumps on plants got old

First why did the MC randomly get the power over plants? It's not like he loved plants in his last life and studied it. Was so random

Next I love cheat systems and feel good novels, but this one just was too over the top for me. I think it's because everything he did was so widescale, it made it ridiculous.
Spoiler

my last straw was the oil from a tree that can be used as diseal with no manufacturing and little impact to the tree. AND the previous ministry of energy is not only there and a politician that decent human being, but he also helps MC with the project...

[collapse]

Lastly I didn't understand how upgraded plants and better soil/air/water made animals smarter and able to talk to humans.

I did read until the end, but I really started loosing interest around chapter 105 or so. I think if the author had cut out some parts, made the MC not a niave idiot, and made the ML not a creeper, I would have loved this novel. <<less

Currently on chapter 16. The MC has unlocked a Mary Sue halo. Everyone loves him and animals adore him. Ffs. ML is also a creepy f*ck who comes off as predatory. I am very close to dropping this but will try another ten chapters.

Also, red flags. So many red flags. I don't even know if the promised fluff is worth all of this. ML's thoughts of "he WILL be mine" and "imma just stalk him and offer him a ride home so I know where he lives" really makes my skin crawl, followed by the oh-so-subtle question "do you live alone" to underage MC was so disgusting I don't even know what to say. What the actual f*ck. He compares his pursuit of MC with hunting animals. I realize this is a common analogy used by MLs in this genre but it never becomes less disturbing to read.

When Yan Yue was studying abroad, he would occasionally go out hunting with his classmates. When a good hunter finds his prey, he has to have enough patience to wait, set a trap and then strike when the prey is close and unaware. Yan Yue had the patience and enough confidence. ??? Much romantic! So fluff!

Note, at this point

Spoiler

The ML suffers from insomnia and the MC gives him a "comfortable feeling". It's like falling in love with your ambien, okay? Can it be true love when one party is at least partially if not only interested due to the relief the other person can provide? I am skeptical.

[collapse]

EDIT: I've reached chapter 47.

Spoiler

The ML has a psychologist friend that calls him out on his creepy behavior and roasts him for being a pe*vert. Nice. The fluff has made its appearance and if you can get over his initial super shady approach to MC, the ML is okay I guess, aside from some occasional sliminess, but what can you even expect with this genre. He's your average CEO ML that acts has MC's golden thigh. Overall, the book is a mindless slice of life read with the appearance of some two bit villainy to spice it up.

It peaceful for sure. The pet diet is unrealistic and can kill real pets but as this is a story I was like, weird but ok. At times it felt boring and then it would pick up a bit, so pacing could be better but still works, somewhat.

Xiao Feng was my favorite from the start.

My least favorite part of this all.

Spoiler

Was the mom finding out part and just the general possibility of h*mophobia. The constant talk of ML and MC relationship being wrong because they were men instead of because one was 18 and the other was in his 20's.

The mom was actually not half badly written, she was in a abusive relationship, so the wariness she has with dating and dating Xiao Feng was believable.

It's quick romance with no drama... it was light and full of propaganda to save the environment, I pity the MC and ML childhood their family was an a**hole, I feel the story is more focus on what MC and ML do to save environment then their sweet time together although I enjoy it, I appreciate the author effort to mix them, our MC really attached to our ML, more or so the conflict was solved by the ML, if u don't like age gap 17-18 or so to 26-27... more>> y'o then don't need to read it, biology people who read this I inform you to turn off ur brain a moment to enjoy it thank you <<less

Great fluffy mindless read.

Picked this up after reading a tragedy novel. Was a good breather after an intense novel.

The story is slow paced and focuses on an ordinary daily life. There was not much character development but like I said these novels are a good breather after an intense novel.

Recommend for light reading to pass time
