I really like the world building. it is not bypassed like most Wuxia transmigration BL novel neither it is just to make up the words. It's unique enough to differ it with other, detailed enough for the Wuxia feel, and important enough for the plot. For example:

Although this is not modern time it is also not too traditional either. This world has its own culture.

The author is not afraid to use ideas that I rarely seen and they did it well.

I also like how the MC is powerful because he trained hard for it, not just because the body he occupied has strong internal energy. as per chapter 43, he is not handicapped by some plot devices either which usually make transmigrated shou has to depend on the gong.

Now, after all the praise I still vote this a 3 because for one sole reason. The ML.

I can't see him. He seems so plain. There's no distinctive feature/charactristic.

Although calling him 2D is not right either. But he seems so uninteresting.

I rather have some yandere who feel for the MC for insignificant reason, at least they have the character of "yandere" (excluding a**hole yandere). Although ML should be this later in story, initially he really plain.

Actually it's very normal to be plain in the start, perhaps the author just hasn't revealed about him enough or developed him. But he is so inconsistent, which make him hard to read, in a bad way.

Actually I'm not that much irritated. It's just.... the story is good and I'm so excited to the author's world and plot building, I'm interested enough to read 43 chapter a day... but I have this inexplicable feeling that ML's inconsistent attitude made the plot feel awkward/forced. It's definetly not the MC fault! Honestly, he is the only one who hold the plot. He's very admirable considering he actually doesn't know much either.

I'm going to rest for a bit before continue reading. But I'll still give it 3 stars to the end. 3 stars is for overall good story. 4 stars only for all-rounded good story, and 5 stars for all-rounded fav story. Excuse me for using my own scale.

Do I recommend this? idk, I read this novel for the plot and world-building, which must be very different with other readers here.

I must say, the description really doesn't do justice to this novel. It makes it look like one of dozens of similar creations with annoying dumb protagonists who cling to each other for no reason and think only about "ta-ta-ta", which it isn't.

I am glad I started reading it despite me not finding the description even slightly appealing, as it is simply a hidden gem. The story is interesting and is not being shoved into your face all the time, the MC is a real sweetheart that for me is... more>> infinitely more likeable than Shen Qingqiu, for example (just don't kick me for that, I can't help it). I didn't expect anything from the novel, so after reading all of the translated chapters am now overwhelmed with the amount of thought put into (I'm not saying it's perfect. But it's good enough for me to be able to enjoy it and not pay attention to its minor drawbacks). I came for comedy only, but now I find myself also looking forward to the development of the plot and discovering the fate of the side characters.

I also feel obliged to note that the translation is pretty decent, it's adapted well enough for it to be coherent and not read like a bunch of unconnected sentences, which translations of such novels sometimes resemble.

Hope the slow burn will go on, and the plot will not be spoiled in later chapters. <<less

This is such a seriously underrated story I cannot stress enough how good and absolutely hilarious it is. If you're tired of yandere characters, if you love rivals (?) /idiots to lovers, if you want comedic misunderstandings, and if you want something wholesome and beautiful instead, then read this. I've reread the English translation at least three times now and I'm slowly making my way through the raws...

Su Yang is kind of a whole dumbass, but sincerely so endearing, and it must come across... more>> too to Gu Feidi, who is straightforward and has a very strong moral compass. But heed the warning that the author gave, this starts out as a funny fluffy story but it gets Plot and Serious in the second half...

Possibly my favourite and most heart-breaking gut-wrenching storyline is Xu Yunzhan's unrequited love for Su Yang. Su Yang never gets to know that Xu Yunzhan is in love with him, which hurts so badly because Xu Yunzhan himself too knows that it won't work out because of his own cowardice. That self-deprecation, every time Xu Yunzhan talks about how he doesn't deserve Su Yang and that he loves him so much he's afraid to even look at him... P A I N

I'm not finished yet and I think the ending might be a little convoluted, but I'm so pleased with the journey I've been on to get here that I'm pretty sure nothing will spoil that five star rating for me HAHA <<less

When I first read this, I wasn't expecting to be hooked as I stumbled on it by accident. The premise is good and I love how the MC isn't too knowledgeable about the world he transmigrated in and has to make adjustments

I also like how misunderstandings aren't too drawn out and are instead resolved within a few chapters. And how the MC isn't too OP and fumbles to learn and grasp how to use his martial arts which adds a layer of depth to his character. His mistakes and his inability to suddenly gain enlightenment because of the past memories is interesting. It makes me look forward as to how the story will progress from here on.

I'm looking forward to the future translations.

This is a masterpiece. The thought and detail to each character and their rational is wonderful. There is no toxicity and it's not dragged out. The relationship is so full of trust and love a complete juxtaposition to a certain couple. There are many literary devices and parallels between characters which is beautiful. This is my second time reading this and it is still such a great story.

I actually teared up at one point.

Gu Feidi was kneeling, begging Luo Yin to heel Su Yang. Su Yang couldn’t bear watching ML on his knees, so he channeled his internal energy to disarray his condition. MC was inflicted with conflicting illness.

The act caused MC to collapse, body pale and heartbeat slowing down, basically on brink of death. ML went nuts, crying and begging the doc to save him.

Anyway, I love this one. It was funny watching MC trying to stay to plot and ML basically off course. The other side characters all have a role and author did spent some time developing them.

Plotwise, it can be fast paced. Couple of loops hole here and then but can be glossed over.

Only think I’ll always wonder, not just from this novel BUT all - why do people not communicate but choose to suffer 20-30 years of silence and grief? Sigh.

I was really pleasantly surprised. The story follows up on just about all of the commitments it makes. There's a sense that the world is much larger than just what's on screen. I absolutely adore the main pairing who are deeply affectionate with each other. Despite the author's reassurances that this story has a happy ending it didn't spoil the constant tension and the very real sense of danger and fear these characters faced. There were times when I actually laughed aloud or cried! No single... more>> character matches any other and each one seems to gain a bit more dimension each time they appear - Even the supporting characters! Along with the momentum of the plot I was always compelled to read more, only really putting the story down to eat, sleep or work. I think I burned through this story in about two days and it's by far one of the most pleasant danmei-reading experiences I've ever had.

The MC is a bit dense, but that's understandable given the context and tbh the payoff for all of the romantic tension is more than worth it.

There are a few iffy bits that signify a darker turn midway through the story. Hints of dub-con unfortunately make their way in, but thankfully, the characters talk things out and irreversible harm is completely avoided. That's another thing! The communication between the couple, once they're established, is excellent. They're open and patient with one another 95% of the time and everything about their dynamic is so wonderfully gentle. <<less

ML and MC relationship development was good that’s all going to say on this topic

My problem with the story is the MC has no backbone at first his characteristics was fun, but then things started falling apart. The fact that he can’t pull off a villainous character after transmigrated from acting in the real world an was seen through by the side characters that annoys me.

Love this novel so much!! I came to it not know what to expect, and came out of it being blown away. Started off as cute and funny, then sweet, then SAD!! But still sweet sprinkled in, then a great ending. Characters (main and side) 10/10, romance 10/10, plot 9/10! It was amazing getting to explore this world with MC ^-^

I really loved this novel. It's a novel where the theme "Enemies become lover" is done very well and is an important conflict to the story. Their love story is great and I think MC's struggles were very realistic.

Sweet, super sweet, and fluffy, very fluffy, it felt like cotton candy to my brain-mouth. Littlest bit of necessary angst that is present in all sweet stories for the sake of plot and character development. MC is adorable, ML is perfect. They are perfect together, babbies in life and death. My babbies. The only regret that I have is that the author didn’t make a sequel Q^Q

Super fun to read, the couple are absolutely adorable and I like that it’s wasn’t instant love and you get to fall in love with the mc's adorable ways the same time the ML does.

It started good but got boring and very repetitive in the middle.

Translation and phasing is 5/5, I was just rlly disappointed by the climax hence the score. But it's possible that the reason ks because I stopped reading for a few days and continued again so I'm not as excited as the first time so I recommend for you to still try it, it may be your cup of tea.

I'm surprised at how awesome the world building in this novel. It can be regard as high fantasy, only the writer more focus on the story of the 2 people. I end up loving this novel more than I expected in the beginning. And I really love how the writer conclude the whole story. Nothing left hanging and it's really complete.

I came across this a few months ago and kept thinking it wasn't done translating, until I saw the full translation at PurpleLy Translations completed in Oct 2021. Both translators have done a great job of making it very readable. It's one of those novels where I appreciated the description of the scenery even, it helped the novel to come to life.

You could also tell how lovingly the author planned the story, and how seemingly throwaway references brought up along the course of the story serve a bigger purpose towards the end. <<less

Honestly, this was actually one of the most healthiest BL novels I read, and everyone gets a happy ending! Although I pined for a tiny bit of a love triangle, I guess it was for the best to not include that much drama.

Another thing I love in particular about this novel is the fact that the main lead is GAY!! Probably bis**ual?? I love that there was no "conversion", no "no homo" kind of tension, and none of the "$20 is $20" kind of gay love story. Since the main lead already has an attraction towards men, it makes sooo much more sense for him to develope an attraction to the main character! The only issue is to discover if it is a sense of "falling in love", or just brotherly infatuation/admiration, or a "sense of responsibility" because it's a transmigration novel. The characters have chemistry!! Their personalities blend and work well with each other that it doesn't feel as forceful as other BL novels. I love that it's not the "exclusive" type either where they treat their love interest one way and treat outsiders another way. In short, you can see how BOTH characters fell in love with each other.

Overall, I recommend this story!! Please read it!! You won't be disappointed! It gives off such a cute "Word of Honor" vibe because of how the main character sometime openly flirts with the main lead and causes him to have gay panics inwardly. Lol <<less

The author does an amazing job with making sure there aren’t any plot holes and that everything has an explanation. s*upid, unreasonable & obstinate are the best way to describe MC. 50+ chapters, and he still yapping about the plot- yet he still ain't making any effort to understand the whole pictures from the moment the plot went astray. He "felt" bad about the death or whatever might happen to some characters, but stuck the believe the plot must happen when it was proven so many times the plot ain't gonna happen.

The ML is also 2D meh character, nothing special.
