Pretty refreshing to read an Isekai Novel that manages to get a focus on some romance, that's somewhat realistic (by Isekai standards) without any harem and every female throwing themselves at the male lead after 2 chapters or the female lead being some comparably powerless accessory to the MC as well as not being your overly edgy Shoujo scenario. The action/adventure part of the story is quite entertaining, side characters are imo well designed and likeable. Yes - some scenarios can be a little repetitive; No - it did never... more>> bother me even once while reading. The overall scenario (fantasy world, Angels and Demons) isn't the most original, but well executed looking at genre standards.

It's an entertaining and sweet story if u manage to exert a little more tolerance and patiance than a toddler. As for some of the reviews, I swear some people would spot sexism in their toilet bowl after taking a dump. Some others just seem to hold unreasonably high standards for a (exceptionally good) machine-translated and FREE to read (pretty much ad-less) novel, acting as if they're sone literary critic (and it's not like all the other Korean Isekai novels are unconditionally masterpieces).

I don't really see how the focus on the bickering main couple for a lot of the novel as well as the fact that both possess both extreme knowledge and talent at the game they're reincarnated into are cons as they're the fkn main premises of the story?

Conclusion: It's an entertaining Isekai power fantasy, with a enjoyable and sweet (the diabetes kind) main couple that has good chemistry, sympathetic side characters, reasonably good plot and good writing (shoutout to the translator, doing excellent work despite working with MTL) <<less

My first review just keeping it simple hella annoyed by the title of 2nd in the server just keeps popping out of nowhere. For eg., MC asks FC a question or comments on her nature answer is that is why u r 2nd in the server. Just annoys me very much.

Review at chapter 120, ending of wild-lands act. (Cz this act is hm... Apparently it gets better in next act, but what's the point if the introductory isn't good and can't keep the readers attention?)

Pros

    • Well executed characters and interactions
    • Realistic and progressive slow romance
    • Bickering couple
    • Interesting setting
    • Great chemistry between the couple
    • Relaxing and fun read
    • Characters actually change (slowly)
Cons

    • Bland story telling (the heroic journey didn't get me excited or feeling thrilled)
    • No hook other than the bickering and chemistry between the two MC
    • Bad pacing/execution (Sometimes things felt dragged out, sometimes too short.
    • Dull action scenes (JP novels can do better. It has great details thought, I'll give a plus for that.)
    • Luck based plot line (Despite what the summary sounds like, the story itself is heavily luck based with the MC barging in enemy lines with only simple preparation and coming out alive due to <plot armour>)
    • Side characters have pretty brain dead development. (At least there is development right?)
    • Contrasting arguments (although rare, it's there. For example...)
Spoiler

One of which is the author trying to sell us the idea of a sly and smart

mature MC that for some reason doesn't make ample amount of preparation- many many times.

Instead, he always charges into the unknown while under the pretext of 'making the best ending', which sounds unrealistic for what the author was trying to portray the MC as, and reacts after unexpected events occur saying 'I didn't expect this to happen' rather than 'Tsk, that's still not enough preparation.

The reasoning doesn't fit the character the author is trying to portray.

So which is it, author? Are you making a sly and mature MC or a brave and unyielding heroic MC?

I wouldn't have made this argument if it was only once or twice, since that would only make things more realistic, but 3... 4... or 5 times? Each time giving the same reason of, 'It's not something I expected...'? That just breaks character.

Only those who are ignorant of dangers would repeatedly give as an excuse.

[collapse]

PS: Although I gave it a 4 star because I kinda liked it, the writing is a dissatisfactory 2/5 considering Korean novel standards. I'll also add this in...

If you are here for colourful actions and thrilling adventures, then hope you don't get disappointed. But if you are here for a relaxing and interesting read from a hard day of work, then pull out that cup of freshly brewed tea and start sipping it.

It was good in the beginning, a solid 4.5 (like the avg. Ratings given for this novel) for like the first 80 chapters but like everyone says it's definitely fallen off to like a 3 (I'm being nice with the 3). However, in light of the current chapters if it picks up a but more in the later half I think it could be a 3.3~3.7 overall.

+I messed up a bit with the star ratings so I think this review will show up as a 4 instead of 3.5 at... more>> the time I'm writing this. <<less

Ending Maker is unique Korean novel in that there's actually both a male and a female protagonist that gets transferred into a game world. Compared to the typical transferred into a gaming world with a single male/female protagonist that does everything by himself/herself, the male and female protagonist worked together in tandem along with many memorable side characters in order to achieve the happy ending they both desired.

While the plot does have it's serious and intense moment, most of the times it will be a quite lighthearted read as the... more>> plot is not overly complicated or extremely serious... at least for the protagonists.

Another great aspect about this novel is the characters themselves. Both protagonists have their own unique personalities that compliment each other greatly and their banters are extremely enjoyable to read. Many of the side characters are also very memorable with their own personality and quirks.

The translation is also very consistent and updates pretty much almost every day. The translator also insert translation notes that helps the readers understand the Korean phrases and jokes that was used in the novel.

If you want a lighthearted read then this novel is for you! <<less

This is your usual "omg, I woke up in a game world, now I have to fight and prevent death flags from occurring!"

It is bit chaotic (they are running and fighting without a long term plan), a bit repetitive (clear dungeon 1, clear stage 2, clear group 3, etc), a bit plain (there is no original plot as far as I can see).

But fun (jokes) and sweet (romance). 4 stars easy.

Translation / grammar could be better? I'm not sure if it is the writer's style or translator's doing, it is... more>> hard to read.

If you're into this kind of things, I would recommend Novel's Extra, it got my 5 stars. Bakarina was also a 5 stars work.

Edit: yes, it has ended. Side stories are even better than the main story. The final evaluation is 5 stars. <<less

The novel is great. If you don't like romance with harem, this novel is perfect for you.

Overall the plot is good enough, the characters interactions and development are good, the double MC is well done (it's given space to both of them), the romantic plot is well done (the male MC is only interested in the female MC and their chemistry is op), comedy is light and really good, break gender barrier (good for male or female reader), really really enjoyable novel.

In the end you can say that this novel... more>> should be a 5, right? Nope, there are some flaws that make it difficult to give a 5 to this novel.

  1. The lack of suspense. 99% of the times, things will go as planned and if something go wrong, don't worry there is PLAN B, C, D ecc... There is NEVER a real troublesome situation, things go always too smooth. They always win without losing anything valuable for them or for the story. Yes, I know, they say "we work for the perfect ending", but it's too much perfect.
  2. Too much luck. Both MC know the world like the back of their hand so they can get items, skills and rare things, but that's not enough... "Look there, we found the most powerful weapon in the game, along with many others weapons ultra op and are sold for literally nothing" and casually the most powerful is perfect fit for the female MC. And for the money? Don't worry the female MC has a super instinct that allows her to win all gambles in the casino. Not only extreme knowledge but also extreme luck.
  3. The fights. I hate to say it but the major fights are ALWAYS something like :
Enemy is stronger --> MC gett a buff from external source --> Critical hit to the enemy --> MC "vomits blood" because he/she used more power that he/she can handle.
I don't how many times the female MC vomits blood in this novel... I kinda feel bad for her
These flaws don't affect the novel to the extent to which it becomes a bad novel. In the end the things that make the reader enjoy the story are the complicity between the female MC and the male MC and the comedy. <<less

A surprisingly good twist on the extremely overused, transmigrated-into-a-fantasy-gameworld korean webnovel trope.

I think both the positive and the negative reviews hold truth to them. This novel doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, it is unapologetically cliché despite its attempts to stand out and that's its biggest failure, at least to the people who came due to the 5 stars reviews and left disappointed. Put in another way, though, if you like fantasy korean novels with OP protagonists, then you'll love this one.

I like the idea of having 2 main characters... more>> in a fairly unique dynamic. They have distinct personalities, and their witty but awkward banter is pretty much the bread and butter of the novel. We have these funny interactions between the main characters, but sadly the dynamic starts to fall flat as the chapters go on. There's not much character development nor moments to actually connect to the characters at an emotional level. The funny know-it-all hot guy and the beautiful and charming, but fiery girl remain as just that throughout; as tropes. The author had many chances to do the opposite; we begin to know about their past lives, the conflicts between their past selves and who they are right now, the characters start developing feelings of actual love... but nothing really happens up to chapter 94, almost a third of the novel in. In fact, it almost seems as if the characters just unnaturally revert to being just characters in a game when the main theme of this type of genre is exactly the opposite – forge your destiny by your own hands, we have free will, our actions have consequences. It's still enjoyable, and it doesn't make for a plot hole per sé, but I get why people are displeased about the characters.

Now, reviews painting this as the magnum opus of the patriarchy suffer a bit from confirmation bias. Although it's true that Cordelia inexplicably reverts to being a damsel in distress character sometimes, it is disingenuous to say that she's only there to be saved by the strong male character, that she meekly follows him just because she's a woman and he's a man, or that she always receives less than the man. Like, you read the first ten or so chapters of this novel, you know this isn't true. I'm struggling to defend the latest chapters, however, as it is a bit off-putting to see her act more and more as the typical female interest in this type of serial.

The world-building is quite alright. It's a bit too inspired in the Lord of the Rings, Warcraft, and the Diablo franchise, and the descriptions of the "original" game are dubious at best. Still, it's memorable and interesting enough to inspire a sense of adventure and depth to the plot.

In short, it's a fantastic experience for those who already like this kind of webnovel. It's fresh and exciting, but sadly it starts to fall flat and it's uncertain whether it marks the tone for the rest of the novel. <<less

After finishing all the chapters, I have to say it's really good. For those who don't like romance, I guess this novel won't be suitable for you (because our main character pair flirts a lot www).

Spoiler

I really enjoyed the times when Jude and Cordelia competes with each other, when they fall in love with each other, this is youth haha. They are really adorable when interacting with each other, especially Cordelia. I feel like a parent watching their growth. In addition to the emotional scenes with each other, the author has very well exploited the characters and plot. The author is really skillful in making readers wonder because of the extremely unique details that the author put in, I initially thought this was just a simple series, but I didn't expect such a twist slot

It's good, this novel is one of a kind. You probably never read this kind of novel again. But author of this novel is kinda have a favoritism to Jude/Yudel.

At the start of the novel you probably feel little frustrated cause Jude keep getting the last hit kill to the monster even though at that time Cordelia really work hard to get the monsters weak enough for Jude to kill. Well this is because Jude have a sickness of blocked meridian body and that make him so weak, that's why... more>> he need those level up.

In the novel they said Cordelia more gifted than Jude when it comes to battle. She's basically have Goku Ultra Instinct. It also shown when she fighting to protect Jude against lower ranking demon while Jude trying to open second door of his martial art skill.

Jude is character that always planning so thoroughly before doing something and that's what make Jude always Rank 1 in the server.

Cordelia is character that prefer acting first think later but it doesn't mean she's s*upid, sometime when the situation worsened and Jude plan failing, Cordelia is the one who always have the quick thinking that solve those situations.

Now let's talk about author favoritism and kinda biased toward Jude.

  1. First even though Cordelia said to be more gifted when it comes to battle, she's always playing role like a backliner and supporting Jude. Jude always have a cooler battlescene and most of the time the one who dealing the finishing blows or critical blows.
  2. It also shown in Jude power up. His martial art skill have more depth or when he's getting a certain item (note:they always share the item) but still he most of the time get more good item than Cordelia.
  3. Jude got cool master which is Landius, the main character from The Legend Of Heroes 1. Cordelia doesn't have something like that.
  4. When Jude opening the Fifth door of his martial art, he got something like guide from the previous martial art holder and like I said before, it gaves his skill more depth and that what make it smell like "Protagonist" of the story.
  5. The most frustrated one for me is when they're challenging dungeon that have trial to fight against different path of themselves. Which mean Jude fighting the Wizard version of himself and Cordelia fighting Warrior version of herself. Wizard version of Jude is more Wizardly than a Real Cordelia, the way he use spell and spell scroll making him fighting like first class wizard. Yet Cordelia most of the time only using her magic missiles which has weak firepower even though Cordelia have Witch Mode that can make her use Witch skill and mana.
  6. The recognition that Jude and Cordelia get is different. Especially in Royal Capital arc. Jude get more action time because of banquet of sword and tournament, while Cordelia doesn't get any. She a got little bit when acting as rogue master but I feel like that more of a joke that Jude made.
  7. Most of the time you get only Jude POV or thought especially when it's come to critial point of story. It's rare to get Cordelia thought or POV.
There's still a lot more thing that I want to say but I think the seven points above is my most frustrated thing about author favoritism. It makes me think that this is not multiple protagonist stories because Jude feel more of a protagonist than Cordelia. I feel like Cordelia have so much potential in her character but the author just make her some kind of afterthought character, some kind of trophy wife to Jude.

I can't blame it if there's someone who think it as kind of sexism. I also feel the same. Maybe it change from chapter 216, maybe Cordelia will get more character development, I don't know. But I can say for sure, if you want more easier time to read this novel, think Jude as protagonist of the story (Main Character) and Cordelia only as his Heroine or Female lead. <<less

A good story one of the best reincarnation into a game story I have read.

I have only one problems with it.

Two the FL specialty is fighting but her fighting scenes are almost aways on the back side while most the time is focused on the mc's plan and his finishing move. Makeing her presence feel alot smaller than it should be.

Absolutely sensational! The main couple are very interesting people and the author does great in teasing us with their pasts and how it may affect their future. The dynamic between the two is hilarious at times and rather intimate at others. The action is also well spread throughout the novel and keeps you on the edge of your seat (although the stakes are always excessively high XD). Overall a really great and wholesome read.

Read it, loved it all that's left are the side stories. All I have to say are things are explained later, if you don't finish it is seems unfinished and bland, but when you finish the entire thing. I loved it.

Big spoiler for those who haven't finished.

Spoiler

I loved how the regression and past lives were handled, where it was not technically regression. For those who don't understand why this is something spoiler worthy, they aren't originally Korean.

Quite a good story.

Though some of the actions get repetitive, (why I’m not giving it 5 stars) the overall plot is interesting and satisfying. Having just marathoned the whole thing, it’s really an epic tale where the characters go from minuscule strength to godlike levels.

The characters are quite likeable and the cast is pretty large, though the main characters get the largest focus. Lots of fighting, lots of scamming people out of their treasures, and though it has a slow start there’s lots of fluff.

The romance was cute and... more>> really well done, they have a lot of chemistry and I loved their banter. They get really lovey-dovey later on. They only have eyes for each other and there’s no second male lead or something like that.

One unique thing I really liked about this story is about how so many of the characters are women. You know how in harem mangas the MC usually runs into a bunch of interesting female characters? It’s like that but way better as they aren’t love interests at all. Actually, there are quite a lot of men amongst the supporting characters too, but I can’t help but feel that the ratio is quite good and that most books don’t seem to have this many women. Maybe because it’s shounen like but the women don’t feel like waifu-bait. Anyways, it feels quite good.

If you don’t mind a bit of repetitiveness, the author’s writing is quite good and I’d recommend it. <<less

I am very new to LN and this is one of the first I read because I was really immersed into the concept when I read the promotional webtoon, unable to wait I read the LN and can say that I will never forget this LN and it will always have a special place for me.

  1. The concept itself is very good, no self righteous MC's or the common troupes pertaining to reincarnation.
  2. decent world building.
  3. Romance is well........ unique I guess? Definitely not your regular romance. Some might like it, some might not but it is definitely not bad.
  4. Spoiler

The ending was rushed and a lot of characters didn't get a lot of screen time, like maximillan, jabberwock, or the main villain of the first arc, sally was her pet name I think, but she didn't appear after the second ark (the lord protector ark). Even Rhun Froud the top rank demon, duke didn't get much screen time

    [collapse]
  5. it is a good read, the sequel and the side stories are a must as it gives you a closure. The only problem was it was written like a 600-700 chapter LN but ended in 300+ chapters

I would give it a 4.5 but as I cannot rounded down to 4 since I don't think it deserves a 5. Still, overall very good read that I innitally picked up after reading the manwha released so far. I thoroughly enjoyed the relationship and banter between the two main characters and it had a great start. The quality did drop a little at the end in that it seemed rushed but this is something the author aknoledged since they intended it to be longer and more filled out but... more>> due to circumstance they didn't which is a shame.

I am not one to write long reviews so other the only other thing I will say is I enjoyed the twist/unique take on the genre. It sets it up pretty well and holds its cards close until almost the very end when it is revealed. There may be other series out there that do the same thing but this was a first for me so I really enjoyed it.

lol While amusing at first, I just wish her catch phrase wasn't "fu*k bang". F-ing Bang would be better since it at least sounds better and more natural to say, but it might just be that way due to the way it translates. <<less
