The E-Sports Circle’s Toxic Assembly Camp

Chief tactician Lin Yan entered an e-sports novel. At this time, there was still a whole year to go before the original plot started.

The big devil who would frighten people in the future was still a thin-skinned little anchor; the disaster who once disturbed the e-sports circle was playing as an accompanying player; the best healer was sitting on the cold bench of a third-rate team; the strongest king at shooting his mouth off offending the media and his black materials were flying all over the place…

They would shine as the plot progressed but unfortunately, their teams weren’t strong enough. In the end, they couldn’t escape the fate of a cannon fodder.

Lin Yan couldn’t bear to see these talents being wasted. The e-sports professional reality show started and he spent money to set up the GH Club, moving from east to west to select his team.

The variety fans: ??? Is this ‘Go Home’ team picking up the junk?

This lasted until all the opponents were coughing up blood at GH’s tactics and could only watch GH get a ticket to the professional league.

The entire e-sports circle knew that apart from their captain Jing Yuanzhou, the entire GH team was a group of barely qualified variety show players not worth paying attention to. As a result, this toxic team swept through the field and reached the top in their first year of the league.

When the media interviewed GH: Captain Jing, why did you agree to Coach Lin’s proposal and join GH?

Jing Yuanzhou: He pestered me every day saying ‘I want you’. It was really difficult to turn down such great kindness.

Lin Yan: “???”

Check the salary deduction warning.

The entire Internet went crazy: Parental love is real!!!

Cute couple, fun interactions, face slapping in e - sports, not a deep novel though it touches on e-sports ruthlessness and retirement rate. Entertaining for passing time as the characters were ok and their relationship mature and respectful.

Most of the esport novels has the main characters as teammates, but in this story our MC is the coach instead. MC and ML has a great dynamic, their relationship development was gradual and really sweet to watch blossom.

A very wholesome and fluffy story, and just like the summary said the parental love is real. Coach Lin cares very much about everyone that he recruited and put so much effort in the team. The journey of reading though Lin Yan's trauma and love for esport really carved a place in... more>> my heart. <<less

This is one of those books where the minute I finished reading it, I wanted to read it all over again for the first time. It was soooooo good. The characters, the plot, the weaving in of what it takes to manage an e-sports team, the playing of the game, how trauma can affect a person and how with enough support, you can slowly push through it, and also the relationships!!! Both platonic and romantic. It was done sooooo well. Definitely one of my favourite e-sports novels. Will recommend it... more>> to anyone who wants to read it in a heartbeat!!! <<less

It's a bold statement but I think this may be my favorite MOBA-esport bl novel. I agree with one of the previous reviewers that there is no real suspense on whether or not they'll ultimately win the championship, the games sometimes feel like a log of events than a play-by-play. I'm not a big player of MOBA games, so this amount of technicality was perfect for me.

The humour was perfect; the writing was engaging; translation was great; the characters, their personalities and backstories were surprisingly detailed given how many there... more>> were and how short the story is.

10/10 I absolutely recommend this novel!

Spoiler

Edited to add: It took during my second reading for me to ask/look it up. "Shooter" = Marksman = Carry or Attack Damage Carry. And Mid lane is also known as Ability Power Carry. So when they mention "two C positions", it's the two Carry positions, "Shooter" and Mid lane.

I seriously thought on the first run through it was the top lane and bot lane on the first read cause the the way the two lanes looked on a map but the context didn't make sense 🤦🤦

Love this story so much, wow. MC is technically a transmigrator but this doesn’t really focus on his knowledge of future events but rather on his knowledge of people and their personal history/interactions. As a person who really enjoys interpersonal relationships and team as family this was my jam! As for the games, the suspense wasn’t so much in wether or not they were gonna win cuz I expected them to achieve their goal. My enjoyment was mostly in seeing how they were gonna counter their opponent and it was... more>> very fun.

Also I know nothing about this type of video game (MOBA?) but I had just enough context clues for it not to impede my understanding and enjoyment of the story so that was great. <<less

I really love e-sports moba stories, and this is one of the good ones.

I love MC and ML interaction. Their relationship progress slowly but surely. I Also super love how finally MC got the chance to be a player and wow the world. I had a hunch before and it really happened.

Seriously, I love the part about GH. Eternal!

This story was a lovely read. The feelings between the LY & JY were too sweet, and it's super cute how they sort of influence each other's behaviour and trolling others HAHAHA. Also the way they handle their relationship is so smooth, and there's no drama if that's what you're not looking for. Not only that, GH's group dynamics was super nice to see, so supportive of each other in their joys and suffering XD and the friendship between all of them were nice. Same goes for the other teams... more>> as well! I recommend it if you want a light story, though heads up if e-sports terminology may confuse you. <<less

This is a worth-to-read novel if you like the esports genre. Moreover, there’s also the occasional dog food, so altho this story is more on the technical stuff of esports, it’s bearable and won’t make you bored. Lastly, it is through this story that I realized the importance of coaches in esports, particularly in making tactical strategies. Ergo, thumbs up to the author and thank you to the English translator as well.

I usually get bored with e-sports themed novels. There are only a few that I really enjoyed and this is definitely one of them. I get so excited and the humor really gets me. Besides, Jing Yuanzhou × Lin Yan CP gives so much dog food and I love every bit of it 😂 They're an open-minded couple and they don't mind what others think of them and I really appreciate that bc there are so many same s*x couple stories out there that focus so much on other people's... more>> opinions and it's irritating for me. I'm also in a same s*x relationship and I get that it's a lot of pressure but if you focus too much on others' opinions then you wouldn't be happy. <<less

4.5/5 A decent bl esports novel. A little draggy in terms of gameplay and not a ton of progress relationship-wise either, but overall still enjoyable. MC, ML and their team are pretty OP and while they do fail, they're generally a tad bit too strong. Plus the majority of the time, they won mostly due to MC's trick strategies, as if no other team coaches are able to play strategies at all, so it's a little one-sided. Moreover, the gameplay description is long-winded without being truly detailed. So you can... more>> neither call it a technical esports novel nor a bl novel since it tried to be technical but wasn't even detailed enough to be such. But the plus point in this novel is the team's unique and interesting characters, most of which are very lovable. Overall, still pretty enjoyable. MC and ML are cute together too. <<less

One of the better ones or this genre. Relationship develops at perfect speed. Games are interesting. I avoided it for a while because title, but regret not giving it a shot sooner. Easily recommend. Will probably reread a year down the line, but probably not the extras.

This novel brings a nice twist to the esports genre as the MC is a coach instead of a player (though he used to be one), and also it's a transmigration story?? Lol but it's barely mentioned and it's only relevant in that it gives the MC an upperhand in knowing which players to bring into his club. Everything else is still due to hard work, tactics and of course, the talent of his players.

I love all of the main characters, and interactions between the MC and ML are so... more>> hilarious because they always keep being ambiguous, intentionally or unintentionally XD And I love how MC's tactics keep messing with everyone's heads.

This is just such a fun novel to read, and the UST between MC and ML is delicious~ <<less

I started this because I saw so many 5 star rating. Probably because I also read another e-sport novel, I couldn’t help but compared both. One described the game in details that I could understand almost each heroes they introduced and imagined the fight scene. Meanwhile this game described the game match so briefly and simple that I just couldn’t feel any satisfaction whether they win or lose. Like one of the reviewer said, this is more into their management. And probably due to my own mindset, I was disappointed.... more>> Other than that, I couldn’t feel any attachment towards any characters as pointed by another reviewer. I’m currently at chapter 40 and the only reason I could reach this far was because I was curious of how they’ll handle Abyss’ situation. Once this was solved, I entirely lose my interest. <<less

This story is so good!! You're gonna love the characters and their relationships with one another, especially within the team and outside. The KR vs CH arc was my favorite because of the wholesome aggressiveness of the CH players HAHAHAHA I love the relationship between the ML and the MC, as well as their children. It's really funny, fluffy, and amazing. A good read! The translation is also lovely!!

4.5/5

If you're into the technical side of gaming, and into MOBA type games, this novel does a good job of explaining and telling what's happening on the map. Though, you might struggle if you're new to gaming/gaming type novels. There's quite a few technical parts, ngl confusing even for me. However, the author and translator did a great job of narrating it to the reader and keeping the reader hooked. However, some parts (fights) are just skipped over when I expected it to be part of the novel, while other... more>> fights seem painfully long. Nonetheless it's probably my problem.

As another reviewer mentioned, this novel doesn't really get you attached to the characters and I almost dropped this, and this may be due to the fact that the MC's transmigration was only mentioned for a little while before moving on, and both MC and ML's pasts or background were barely mentioned until the 3/4 of the way in. However, I do love their interactions (but if you're looking for a full of dog food romance novel, this ain't for you. There's only some scenes of that, as this novel is heavily focused on gaming).

My favorite arc is the last arc, which is the world championships and the starting where the team gains recognition. The middle part is meh. Giving it a 4.5 rating was the beautiful end this novel has. <<less

I really loved this novel.

The analytical mind of Lin Yan while quietly supporting his male god to achive his dream was just what I needed during my busy work schedule. The supporting characters of the team also worked really well within the novel. It really gave the team feeling of all of them working hard together to achieve their goal of the world championships.

Sweet novel and fun read.

Let's make an e-sport team with problem child and then go on a face-slaping journey.

Gotta Slap 'Em All.

... more>> MC and ML is cute together almost from chapter 1.

It keep me wondering who is gong and who is shou... MC is almost open "homo" with his showing of cute, sweet pink stuff and make me think, oh he must be a shou and then ML is too caring almost like a wife.

I have a few complaints when it come to barrage from "sunspots" where is the mom, dad viewer... and I wish for smuts scene and more dog food.

Either way I enjoyed it. ❤ <<less

Aww, I obv wanted more. just like what I read in the comments 'we were fed until we were full but we still want to more' huhu, so good. This is really game focused but the BL scenes are still very much perfect hehe

Spoiler

I'm not really critical in the gaming things and I get to keep up with the narration, I actually liked how they just skipped the first fight against three where GH lost lol, it was a surprise but it was also good that not much chapters were wasted their. I kinda guessed from the number of chapters that they would probably win all the way to the world championship but it was still fun. I also liked the other Chinese groups, LDF, PAY, BK members, Three, I like how there were no chapters focused on them until the extras, and no unnecessary couple overpowered the Main couple.

Some may have complaints about GH being OP but I think it's just right? Gu Luo (Gloy) was just taken earlier but his skills are proven in the novel and he even have the support of Lin Yan so his growth is understandable. Chen Yushen (Abyss) is a genius who wasn't given the opportunity to shine because of what happened before and he was already strong from the start, with Lin Yan there, he got to be even more OP. Bi Yaohua (BB) was also just a bit unfortunate with his teams, altho he is not that OP, like Lin Yan said, he might be the most suitable shooter for them. His mindest and atmosphere is just the best so he is a must needed addition in GH. Jian Ye (Gun) well, he is just really right for the team that Lin Yan wants, he is specifically wanted and needed by the team, his foundation is already good, he just needed a team who can maximize his skills, a much needed good but strong person. Jing Yuanzhou (Titans) , bch is there a need to question this? Lin Yan basically made team for this man, he deserve so so much with the restraint and burden and pressure that was given to him, he is so strong, he is full of love, and he deserve a team made for him. He is perfect, it was a bit surprising that he instantly chose to retire after winning the championship but I guess there were already many foreshadowing, I am so happy that he got to play as himself in his last season as an official player of GH. He was so mistreated and I'm really happy he got his happy ending. Lin Yan (Eternal), I will forever be bittersweet about him, the parallel world extra is just putting a band aid and won't really cure the pain I felt for him. The fact that he destroyed the opposing team flawlessly when he heard that the captain got into an accident, bch. He was also literally just a child, for him to have such a life changing mental illness because of that.. Imagine training for so long to do the thing u wanted to do the most and after getting a taste of it you have to surrender it, together with the person you idolize? bch, that hurt. It was a bit of a pity that the pov of this novel doesn't really focus on the player's/characters' thoughts so I never really got to know his deepest worries and desires and all. He never told anyone the fact that he transmigrated but, I understand him. He just wants a new start and nothing would really change even if he does tell anyone, the important people in his life are also in the novel, which as he said, is the main reason why he chose to stay. I love him and he deserves the world, he deserves to be the protagonist of his own novel.

The games? it was just right, it was exciting, the face slapping of the sunspots were really nice, I'm not really critical about the technical stuffs and my knowledge is only from playing mobile legends and I think I pretty much got a clear imagination of what it is about which was really great, if it's a different game I might have to watch a video first but this one, I understood it already and I liked it. I actually wanted to see a quote like 'and this is the start of the generation of e-sports where tactics were given importance' or smthng, cause the other teams just doesn't have much planning, which is alright but if u play against teams who do have tactics, they just be giving their heads.

The romance? gurl, I felt the s*xual tension all the way to my seat outside this novel. They are literally made for each other, IDC what anyone says. #ParentsCP. Lin Yan is so cute and stubborn and smart, Jing Yuanzhuo is so strong, caring and loving. Gurl, this is what I want, why can't I have this 😭 hahahhaa I love them so much, omg with their kiss in the karaoke hehehe literally in front of everyone. It's a pity they didn't kiss in public like in the parallel world hehehe but I guess they are old enough to be able to restrain themselves. They are MTB, they are each other's cure to the cruel world, they are each other's light in life. I love how moved Titans is from all the things he received from Lin Yan, he just be giving u what u deserve man! (and himself too ehe) I love their usual teaming up in lives, and their team ups in the competition, they really be overwhelmingly strong if not for Titans age and Eternal's PTSD. Again, I would forever be bittersweet with the nickname Eternal... The fact that he had hope, and that he was happy just being able to play sometimes when he has all that skills and talent. Bch deserves so so so so much, I hate mental illnesses. They literally don't have any cure wth. How can something so damaging to a person's overall life have no cure, sighh.

Btw I always got curious to their ages, specially Lin Yan lol. Their old is literally a young to other profession so imagining was a bit hard loll, even in the parallel world, I was thinking they were kids but I think they were already 18 at that time so not really young lol.

I haven't read any other game novels so I don't have anything to compare with, but this novels really has so much retirement and it really tackled the experiences of older generations in e-sports or older players in e-sports.

[collapse]

Now I'm hungry for some more gaming BL novels sighh- this was so good, not much plot twist but so satisfying. May be a bit easy to guess but doesn't really matter cause u get attached to everyone that u just want them to be happy. I love this so much. Didn't have expectations cause it was the first game novel I read but I love it so much. The BL is just *chef's kiss* they be mtb, they be the love that I want. This, , just try it. U're seriously not gonna lose anything. Reread? gurl, this novel taught me what bittersweet really means, I ain't letting myself feel that again. Just kidding. I actually can. I really liked the characters and the straightforward plot. <<less

I enjoyed this. You can feel that the characters in this story are more mature than most other esports BLs, which is a nice change of pace. The romance is basically attraction at first sight, but in a pretty realistic way. Such a healthy relationship, with a perfect give and take between the two.

If you need break from other heavy novels read this one. Some E-Sports novels tend to have overly detailed matches and skills, but this one doesn’t. I find matches descriptions enjoyable and satisfying to read. All teammates... more>> are lovely ‘children’ who are also potrayed throughout this story. I wish we could have had more of the extras talking about their future.

Translation Great
