This is my new favorite novel, and I really appreciate this new translator, especially their endnotes!

Spoiler

I adore this novel. There are some plot holes, but the other issues mentioned can be summarised to 'chinese novel similarities' with Chinese nationalism and the implied h*mophobia. Can be tolerated, and gets more spread out as we hit the later chapters. Now that that's addressed. The gamer thing? A large plot point. The "npc" mistreatment is heavily penalised. Worldbuilding is superb, though, as typical with Chinese transmigration novels, the nationalist praise of China in comparison to the new world is excessive.

10/10 recommended for experienced readers craving a new world building novel. <<less

It started off amazing, but I lost interest after gamers from earth were introduced. Imagine creating such a cool fantasy world with good world-building. Then ruining it by turning it into a video game. Why would I read about some h**ny teenage gamers treating the world and its inhabitants like NPCs.

The game of the world tree is a gem. I've enjoyed reading this even in mtl

(not completed reading yet)

The characters are amazing, my personal favorite Being Demasia he's a Player (he must be a hidden main character)

... more>> MC transmigrates as the World tree and has to look regain its full power while hiding or being cautious of the other God's, she also introduceds the players as elves in her world and their ability to revive and be bloodthirsty scared a lot of races hahaha

To be honest The protagonists character really surprised me, although she was once human she knows how to be a God and wield the power. MC is Op even in a weak state.

The players mostly drive the story, we also get glimpses of their real lives and we learn that they've all formed a sense of companionship with each Other. The most memorable players are
Spoiler

Li Mu, Demasia, little saly meow and box rice/lunch lol, They are really the big 4 and all of them are unique.

    • Li Mu being the leader of the players, smart, quick thinker and "kind" (cunning lol)
    • Demasia being the troll, has a weird, dumb, clown like personality, the Main tank, has crazy ideas always. (He's also extremely handsome irl
the one player said it would be better if he were mute (lol)
    • Little salty meow, sweet, rich and a bit rebellious, freedom seeking young girl
    • Box rice, like your typical cold but dangerous "protagonist", has good fighting skills, shadow, introvert
      [collapse]
The players are very funny, crazy and wild and bloodthirsty, the opposite of the true Elves, true elves are kind, compassionate and hate war and are very forgiving)
Spoiler

their personalities and they way they lived had an impact towards their fall, even the og World tree, being too kind and arrogant was one of the reasons

Overall it's very enjoyable and I'd definitely reread after completing it (I hope the author has other books written too)

The MC was reborn as aGoddess, however the translator still used He, which was confusing, It would've been less confusing if they did it like LOTM to refer to the God's like "She" or "He" instead of She or He. By confusing I mean, it gave an idea that the MC was separate from the World tree, like in a soul form as if he could wield the world tree instead of being completely one or BEING the world tree (so I'd constantly imagine MC as male, in a soul state and the world tree human form being like a female avator of his. The mtl directly translated the MC as He throughout (but it's mtl after all)

Also the biggest con is that her being previously male in the past life hasn't really played a big or ANY role in the plot? (Perhaps it would be revealed in the next chapters, but rn it's just insignificant)

I do recommend reading, if you're looking for a book that can actually make u laugh and just enjoy yourself. 5/5 <<less

This novel is a very enjoyable kingdom building story.

Do you want to read about dramatic game cutscenes? Gamers zerg rushing bosses? Hilarious reactions of indigenous people to the bizarre behavior of your average troll players? Or perhaps moments where gamers act as a collective hive mind of the internet? Then this novel is for you! It consist everything that makes a gaming novel so enjoyable, while also including elements of epic and satisfying kingdom building to make your enjoyment even better.

While there are game elements that is included in this... more>> novel, not everything is characterized by games and system. There is a flexibility between game and reality that the author managed to maintain by using the MC.

This is one of those novels where the MC is more like a bystander watching over his civilization, and giving guidance when necessary to guide his people in the right direction. The MC is literally a tree, so most of the plot will be driven by the side characters.

The characters are written decently, there's not a lot of character development going on between them, but at least they are written decently enough that you'll find then enjoyable and fun to read.

The slice of life stuffs are also written very well. One of the best things the author did is to NOT include any cooking stuffs, I absolutely abhor cooking in slice of life, it's such an overused and common setting that it have became boring. Most of the slice of life are focused on people building and rebuilding architecture and re-discover lost technologies. It gives satisfaction as if you are the one who finished building those stuffs.

The author is also very good at using descriptive words to add color to the world he created.

All in all, this is a very good kingdom building novel, with a lot of well-written gamer elements that doesn't include information overload. It is a simple and fun novel that anyone can enjoy. <<less

I'm in the process of reading so I have nothing to say yet but omg the switching between he and she pronouns is irritating. Use they or it. Gods transcend gender it's really not gonna hurt to use they (singular) or it. Also, the MC was originally a man but was reborn as a tree named Eve like that should already indicate how they don't conform to simple gender binary.

Good premise but as the story goes on you kind of start not wanting the goddess to win.

  1. She captures enemies and place them in looping dungeons until they mentally break and then forces them to continue.
  2. The only reason she stops live sacrifice is that it would ruin her image she got from her predecessor.
  3. She sees nothing wrong with releases the gamers on the world without any true restrictions on them. In the first beta they already wiped out all wild life in the forest.
Basicly it shows that the morals she... more>> has are a gamer playing a game instead of an entity living in the world. <<less

well written story. Very entertaning, you can see that the author used the elve kingdom as substitution of china and linking some history from earth and applying it in the fantasy world, and honestly it kinda work.

it made me even cry while reading the frost elfs arc even thouth I felt this arc was bit too sad and heavy compared to the rest of the story. And surprisingly the ending have an explanation for the myth similarity with earth.

it does suffer from some weak writing sometime or make you feel... more>> like the some plot points fall apart but comparred to other novels, it's pretty good and have a decent consistency.

i would have loved if the author had wrote more "npc" pov. I am a sucker for that when you have people get surprised from an other world stuff, like movies, manga and they could have developped more culturel exchange and had fun with.

i had fun reading this novel, and I recommand it. <<less

It's not bad. The story is told from multiple perspectives - the MC, and the players she summons to her world. The players are interesting, and it's fun to watch their exploration of the world. The MC is super boring. Her narration gets bogged down in the lore and mechanics of the world, and she's so OP that her fights never have any tension.

Pretty much every arc of the story is the same. The players find a new area, explore the new part of the world, a big fight happens,... more>> and the MC steps in to clean up the boss. Up until that last part it's fun to read, but frankly once the MC appears I skim it until the next arc starts because pubstomps are uninteresting. The setup is fun to read, though. If you like reading about players exploring new parts of a game world and interacting with their residents, then you might be entertained by parts of this story. <<less
