He eventually seems to forgive his sister and the rest enough to talk cordially with them and there was barely any scolding. Not enough to be satisfied with for all the trouble they gave including forcing their way into his room, snooping on his computer and forcefully giving him a hair cut, bunch of little psychos- who even does that? Worse, the only thing to make this 'betrayal but it's all misunderstandings' story the least bit unique, martial arts? He has one fight at the start and then wimps out at a potential second having to get saved and the third the pretty boy who saved him then turns out to be part of some secret goodie goodie martial arts gang and threatens the bad guys into stopping. Lame ending to a side-plot that could have spiced up this bland story.
Long story short: There are two girls that clearly hate the MC and one girl who scolded MC without listening to him and forcing her own ideals on him. (It was just one incident though, so while some readers might dislike her. I think she can be forgiven.)
And there is a fourth girl who is considered best girl as she never insulted the MC and generally states that she prefers flawed people over perfect ones because of her own past. The three girls fall for the MC because of his new appearance but of their different relationships for him.
>Gyaru is his online wife, childhood friend is a fan of his books, step-sibling was saved by him from delinquents. Idol falls for him while he had his normal hairstyle and gloomy appearance, she had attended the same cram school as him in the past. Girls in detail (heavy spoilers) :
Step-sibling.
Keeps insulting him, saying she would never accept to have such a gloomy looking guy as a brother. Avoids him and wants to treat him as a stranger at school.
Her excuse: She used to have a twin brother with the same name and she can't accept that this gloomy looking guy was the replacement.
Why she fell for him: He saved her from some delinquents with a slick hairstyle and no glasses. She fell for her savior.
Childhood friend.
After he had saved his sister, she preached on him because she was against violence. She didn't listen to his explanation and just said: "I hate guys like you!"
Her exuse: Her father used to be a cop, preached about justice and no violence, then became a drunk abusive dad and her family got a bit messed up because of violence. So she is just a teeny-tiny a bit forgivable.
Why she fell for him: Turned out that he is her favourite author with good looks, slick hairstyle, no glasses.
Gyaru
Insults the MC because of his gloomy look
Her excuse: Used to be a gloomy girl herself and keeps seeing her past self in him.
Idol (Best girl)
Never insulted MC and has a policy to like people for what they are on the inside. Prefers flawed people over perfect people because she's an ojou-sama, forced to attend parties with "perfect people" and "fake smiles"
Why she fell for him: She went to the same cram school as him, dressed as plain girl to have a normal experience. She saw the MC with his normal hairstyle and glasses. She admired him working hard on studying, ended up helping him out and decided to attend the same highschool as him. MC didn't recognize her though. She was the first one who confessed but he rejected her because he didn't like the idea of becoming popular only because his hairstyle has changed.
Conclusion:
Idol and childhood friend are more or less good to me and I think MC overreacted when he called her out for her BS, since technically speaking, it had been only one incident.
Step-sibling and Gyaru are not forgivable because their insults were constant and their behaviour changed right after his hairstyle changed. It's only natural that he can't forgive them and thinks it's weird that they claim to like him.
