Differing from elves and beastmen, humans cannot use magic. Due to this peculiarity, they have mana stored inside their body. If the mana present inside is too large, they will be afflicted by an illness called Mana-Poisoning. Suffering from this disease since childhood, I was unable to perform much physical activity. My family was the Leslie Count household who hereditarily performed knightly duties. They were cold and indifferent to me. This was true even for the sword Katrina who was contracted to me. She is a tool called Servant which possesses a personality, using such tools even human beings will be able to cast magic. By binding a contract with her, I somehow managed to live this long by releasing a portion of the mana stored inside me. That was how enormous the amount of mana inside me was.

One day, the doors of my room opened, and Katrina and my father walked inside. They stood up a false claim that I had been trying to destroy her by using her violently.

“Nicola, I am disinheriting you. I cannot allow someone who has violated our family’s moral principles to succeed the Leslie household.”, announced my father.

“I will break my contract with you. I cannot take it any longer.”, said Katrina.

I woke up somewhere faraway after having my contract broken, being disinherited and expelled from my house. I soon noticed that the symptoms of Mana-Poisoning had disappeared, and I’d become healthy. My body felt really light. I somehow knew the reason why. Due to the same reason, I was now able to do something….

Seems a typical betrayal>get stronger>find shiny new friends type story that half writes itself if you read enough of them. It's probably leading to the bad guys regretting everything when they learn the protagonist is OP and it'll either be too late and they'll be story casualties with their whole kingdom going up in flames or they'll try to kill him again or try to force him into serving them ending much the same. As for OP, he'll probably become the hero of whatever country he ends up in or... more>> become part of a traveling mu*der hobo troupe. It's got a few bits and bobs to it that I've not seen combined together though making me feel the novels got promise.
Spoiler

Mana poisoning, combination magic, magical servants, intelligent weapons, their own Merlin in the form of MC and potentially the dawn of human magicians (assuming the guy shares how his magic works with more people afflicted with mana poisoning or adventurers in need of that extra boost.)

The main character does not stand up for himself in any capacity and lets gross people (elves) mistreat him. The elves in this series are jerks and need to face comeuppance for their actions. I won't spoil it but one little scientist elf in particular needs to get an assbeating for abandoning the MC. Maybe he gets even with them later on but I won't read 40 chapters of the author trying to defend their a**holery. Honestly, after the end for the brother and weapon lady I thought the author... more>> would be different. I was wrong. The elves are the racist, sexist, jerks that ruin the novel. <<less
