I like this story in that it is simple, sweet and cute.

The story starts off a bit boring but if you persist, you will enjoy it.

I found it light hearted and funny. It is not the dragging and stressed out harem plot.

This is a feel good read. Nothing too heavy and everything gets resolved quickly but it doesn't feel rushed. This is perfect to read if you want to take a break from heavy drama, face-slapping and full of angst stories.

As for the characters, I really love the FL. I think she's the perfect balance between innocence and cleverness. She's gentle, kind, and pure most of the times but she's not naive. She's clever and intelligent in dealing with things when she has to. Moreover, she's not pretentious and unreasonable. Since... more>> her original plan in life is to be a salted fish, she abides by that and lives her life leisurely and accepts the ML and ML's mother help and favor when given without being pretentious and only does work properly and wholeheartedly when needed and if it's for the benefit of the people.

As for the ML, he was so fun to read. Same as the FL, he possessed a kind of duality that makes me appreciate his character. He is very wise and domineering as an emperor but also loyal, faithful, and knows how to be affectionate to the FL.

In conclusion, the couple's dynamics is just right and it was so fun to read especially if you're into reading a lot of fluff. <<less

While their scenes or interactions were nice. I can't help but be disgusted of how and why they met. Just because of FL's smell who could heal ML's sickness, thus their relationship was based by the author giving FL the golden finger of healing medicine smell -.-.

Back to their relationship.

While I read their moments, I started to feel weird about the change of the characters themselves. FL, a person as a loner and a salty fish (with no ambitions) accepted the ML so easily, not thinking that much, of why he approached her, author brainwash is real. And the ML from a mature person, to a childish brat.

Till this chapter, they haven't discussed about this matter openly. It's just ML lustly chasing FL.

The plot is with so many holes and pointless, knowing from the start, that FL will be his "perfect empress" because of the author's influence. The characters themselves are so shallow, even the villains feel like they're from kindergarten. FL, with how naive and dumb she is, wouldn't last a week in a true ancient time like this, once a person with no strong background would be favored by the emperor.

I don't recommend.

P.S. FL's servant and ML's servant would be more of an interesting story than them two. <<less

💖💖💖 L.O.V.E. Reading this delightful and entertaining love story between Emperor Jing Li and Liao Qing Qing. I laughed a lot while reading this novel.

Emperor Jing Li has never fallen in love with anyone until he came in contact with Liao Qing Qing. At first, it was for healing, but it turns to real love. Though childish at times, his love, dedication, loyalty and protection win over Qing Qing's heart. 💖💖💖

Despite having some flaws, I rated this high bc I find it enjoyable with the story being light and cute.

The FL (Liao Qing Qing) is a transmigrator with no cheat and just wanted to live as salted-fish inside the harem. She's laidback and didn't care for schemes that some characters thought she's fool but she's smart on her own and just loved to act she didn't understand to ignore dramas LMAO.

The ML (Emperor Jing Li) can be a puppy to FL but can be described as good emperor also he... more>> got good sense of people and trusted the FL. He knew what happening within officials, people and even his own harem. He initially got illness due to poison which made him closed to FL.

I also like the Empress Dowager... The harem drama can be considered as light bc the Emperor can easily controlled it and the women can have a good life if they were behaved <<less

It's a cute, fluffy, and fun story. No drama or too complex harem conflicts. I guess the only drama is the emperor himself HAHAHAHAHA. The usual dramatic and coquettish characteristics female characters usually posess were acted by the emperor. I find it funny. Comical. It's just short so

Each chapter is divided into 4.

At the bottom of each page are descriptions for certain terms and specific words which is helpful.

The beginning of each page has a character list, which after a while is a bit annoying. It would be better if it was every 5 chapters or so since for the most part, it's the same people.

... more>> The translator is doing a great job. There is a nice flow and the story is easy to read.

This is more of a slice of life, light harem drama with mostly the MC and Emperor in a slow romance.

It's sweet and fluffy and a great read as a break between more dramatic stories or as just a relaxing read. <<less

Its as the summary says, but the interactions between the MC and ML fail to be sweet or humorous. MC just wants to be left alone but ML thinks that he is all that just because he is the emperor and by extention she must be in love with him.

From what I have read so far this is a hilarious light read. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the story!

I finished reading so under is the overall review

This story has a few major plot holes so if you don't like plot holes I don't recommend it. I didn't mind it because I felt this was a nice short read and the translation quality was great.

As for the MC and ML, I didn't hate them. The dynamic is a typical emperor and wife kinda thing where they... more>> aren't truly on equal footing. But it's expected of the time period so if you want a modern ideal relationship. This isn't for you. I like the MC, her salted fish behaviour and the fact that she can't really become salted fish due to the omnipotent plot armour that dictates that she has to interact with the emperor and the drama.

I found the ML annoying at first, and also pitiful due to his mysterious illness called plot that could only be healed by the MC's protagonist halo. But I found that he seemed funnier as the story progressed.

I especially found the parts where the ML fought almost all the harem battles that the MC was ready to participate in. Solving everything before MC could lift even a finger. The Harem Master ML (in a different sense) was a nice twist to the usual Emperor MLs

I love this! This is a light-hearted read about how an Emperor falls in love with an initially unfavoured concubine (who is secretly a transmigrator from the future) with minimal harem drama.

Our FL is a soft-spoken, sweet girl who had a very lonely past. Her family passed away quite early leaving her alone and she has always struggled on her own. So when she transmigrated to a character whom she knows passes the time quietly like a salted fish, she thinks its quite good! She's very happy about it.

However, somehow... more>> she attracts the Emperor's attention. The Emperor doesn't sleep with her at the start, he just likes being around her because her presence mysteriously cures his persistent headaches. And so, as he spends more time with her, they both gradually fall in love with each other. Its really very sweet.

Some say the Emperor is childish but I think his personality is adorable. It's a mix of being tsundere and also a kuudere. FL is soft and sweet. Not too dumb. Just very straight-forward.

Nice story. Just don't expect any deep harem intrigue or politics. This is a light-hearted read. <<less

Short and simple. A bit on the realistic side. Having said that, don't expect a perfect ML.

It has NUMEROUSLY been stated how since he was raise as an emperor, he tend to be a bit narcissistic and childish. This personality never changed at most curb a bit for MC, with MC doing the adjustment.

Anyway, was a good read. Greatly recommend.

Such a great reads!

The FL is cute, slightly dense but has an understanding of her situation and rather accept it. The ML is an acquired taste, tho I dearly enjoy him! The story focus primarily on the couple and the (rapid) growth of their relationship.

This is a very simple fluffy story of a salted fish heroine sacking an emperor by virtue of a golden finger and her charming personality XD. It's quite immature at times, and definitely not all that complex. But the comedic undertone proves that this isn't really meant to be a serious novel anyway, so these things can be set aside for the soft fluff.

Summary: The FL, Liao Qingqing transmigrated and ended up in the imperial harem. She's not a favored concubine, but that hardly matters because the emperor doesn't really... more>> favor anyone due to his "illness." The illness in question is soothed only in the presence of the FL. The story starts after the Emperor figured this out, and the two begin to cohabitate frequently after that, leading to one clueless salted fish heroine and one prideful emperor to develop deeper feelings.

General Thoughts: This story is very silly! I suggest you don't take it seriously, else, you'll probably not enjoy it as is. If you look at it as a short and simple story for a quick and uncomplicated read, it's really not bad. The slice of life vibes are the strongest here, but there's a little bit of harem intrigue and weak-to-strong development. So it's not like that there's nothing exciting going on. It's just that those aren't the focus. It's about two idiots finding love thanks to a weird combination of plot armor and chemistry lolol

Rating: 3.5/5

Although I wouldn't say that the story is very good, for what I was looking for this time around, it ended up working out the best. If it was any other time, I might not have as good of an impression of the novel. But since I happened to be in the right mood, it was a pretty satisfying experience! I recommend making sure that you know what you're in for before reading this story. Otherwise, you might expect too much and end up disliking it completely XD. <<less

Absolutely love this short story! FL is a transmigrated girl who wants to be a salted fish but the ML would not leave her alone. I loved the drama 'fighting among the concubines in the harem' but the straightforward way the FL tries to resolved it.

The novel is short and light. No complicated plot. Very like slice-of-life.

The banter between MC and ML is quite entertaining and comedic. But towards the end, it gets a bit boring. The banter is repeated again and again.

MC seems slow-witted and a bit s*upid. But then, the author describes her as a lazy yet intelligent woman. She is very logical and straightforward person.

... more>> ML also seems too petty and childish, though only towards the MC. He shows excellent favoritism to MC.

The story also wrapped up nicely. Personally, towards the end, it just gets boring (personal opinion, because I don't really like slice-of-life with fluff every single chapter). <<less

i seriously had no expectations considering it was short but omg it was one of the best read for me this year.

Its so wholesome, pure and fluffy. Literally from the moment I started this it was just fluff and funny. It was very fun to read, I love the interaction between the emperor and qing qing so much, they're so funny together yet so sweet my tooth ached from the sugar. The emperor is literally a crackhead and a bif of a drama queen (i love him so much lol) with his witty skill in dealing with the harem intrigue while the FL is too pure for her own good 😭 they complement each other so well. And I love every bit of that extra chapter and fei fei the first prince is so adorable. Sadly we don't get many of the second prince and the princess but the ending still is very satisfying!

I highly recommend this novel even if you don't like ancient or only read Danmei u must give this a try 😭

I love the characters so much, I love the imperfect ml, the lucky MC, I love their kid, although he's smart, he's very naughty as well, just like a normal kid.

I'm really happy for the MC, she surrounded and always protected by good people.

Although the ML sulk easily, he just like being pampered by the MC, and he's really clingy too.

The story are very healing to me.

This is my first review...

This is a very simple fluffy historical romance. There is just the right amount of historical vibe minus all the intrigue that usually comes with reading historical novels.

Any schemes are that occur are dealt with in 1-3 chapters. The relationship between the ML and FL is also slowly built and the relationship is balanced and healthy.

... more>> There is also enough post happy ending chapters to really leave you satisfied and not wishing for more. I love the authors notes and they are really funny.

The emperor is really entertaining and the FL is very rational, like really rational which makes the decisions she makes relatable, for me personally. She is not irritating.

I'd recommend this if you want to enjoy some very sweet honey feels with just enough drama to keep you interested.

If you dont enjoy fluff this is not for you at all. You will complain about plot holes and things going too well for the FL.

To the translator:

Thank you so much for translating this novel. My only opinion would be in the next historical novel that you translate, leave the titles and and the manner in which the characters refer to themselves in Chinese (sorry I don't know if it should be referred to as pinyin), and then have the notes at the end with the english translation and explanation. That way we can kind of know/understand the difference to how the Emperor is referring to themselves instead of it always being "I" in the first person. <<less

This is a very fluff novel, not the usual transmigrator wuxia novels. It is short and to the point compared to reading hundreds of chapters. Also there isnt many characters that you need to memorize

  1. My only issue is that it skims the characters that isnt the ML and FL. Fhey seem superficial and transparent, there were times where I needed to know about why they did this and how did it happend. There are a lot of plot holes.

Lovely fluffy story of a transmigrator who wanted to be low key but was pushed into the limelight as she can cure the Emperor’s headaches by being close. Her sweetness and simplicity won him over and her interest in growing vegetables (esp potatoes) gained her the Empress position. Some harem intrigues but quickly and lightly dealt with by the Emperor. The last few chapters about their son Fei Fei and their family add a lovely heartwarming.

A high quality translation.
