Xie Yang struggled in the post-apocalyptic world for many years until he was too tired to go on. Then he transmigrated into a young adult entertainment circle novel where the protagonists have easy, sweet, and satisfying lives.

The male protagonist of the novel is not just handsome and smart, he’s also reborn. The female protagonist of the novel is not only beautiful and works hard towards her dreams, she also has a cheat in her hands.

There’s a lot of male and female supporting roles, each having pretty face, nice figures and someone strong behind them. Get into any one of their bodies, and he could close his eyes and just enjoy life. But he didn’t. Instead he transmigrated into a young idol secretly married to the biggest villain of all — the male protagonist’s maternal uncle.

His title is husband but it’s more like a nurse. Because this novel’s biggest villain is a terminally ill patient who is gloomy and sick in the head (actually sick). Their marriage was to counter the bad luck (illness).

It has been a while since I read it (twice) but each time I see the title somewhere I remember this story. It is sweet, no overbearing/yandeer CEO or mindless/innocent shou. I recall I laughed and sometimes shed some tears. There are some revenge et redemption but over all I got this sweet and fluffy feeling at the end. It is a HE by the way

great translation and author was able to give so much depth to all characters without having to put each ones POV for the same scene... more>> (i hate those so high 5 for avoiding that here)

* ML is a tsunedere but MC calls his BS right away.

* MC transmigrate from a zombie apocalypse world to a modern safe (ish) world

* I loved that, when the MC arrive to new world, he meets a little girl who gives him a candy then he still remembers her much later as the first who was good to him (he never meets her after the first day and never knows who she is) - this just one of the proofs that the author wishes of giving depth to characters

* ML is pretty much trying to get everything in order before his demise (he has a terminal illness) - you can feel his pain, his resignation and acceptance of his upcoming death but also a bit of reluctance.

* you will defend cry at the ML’s mother death

This is a fun and breezy novel that anyone who wants to disengage their brain can indulge in. The star of the novel is our ML - a cute tsundere that has a hardmouth and a soft heart.

Why do I only give 3 stars if I think this is fun?

1. Too breezy. The MC can do anything and everything. I thought the original MC will be a tough opponent but MC basically bulldoze through her with his power. Also he's a super gifted vocalist and musician and composer etc eventhough... more>> he didn't work for a long time when he was in the apocalypse world.

2. Too rich. This caused the 'too breezy' phenomena too. Basically MC and ML curbstomped everything with the power of money

2. Too long. After defeating oriMC everything after that is superfluous with some cannon fodders jumping around.

All in all, still a nice novel to read if you like smooth sailing kind of novels. <<less

I binge read this entire novel over the course of two days, and I do NOT regret it.

It was so good, and it will hold a special place in my heart. I love the development of the MC and the ML's relationship over the course of the novel. The MC's interactions with the nephew and watching their relationship develop brings me so much joy, and the family dynamic they gain along with the ML's mother by the end of the series has my whole heart.

Although it was a little confusing... more>> I found that the explanation for the MC's transmigration was pretty well done.

Maybe the rose-tinted glasses I have on right now from finishing the novel are making me biased, but the only qualm I really have with this novel is the MC is a bit of a Mary Sue (his agent is grateful for it though lmao).

Also props to the translators, they did an amazing job, it was such a smooth read and the translator's notes didn't take away from the reading experience and were helpful.

All-in-all an enjoyable reading experience - I'd give it a sold 7/10 :) <<less

read this months ago before it was taken down, but I still want to leave a review bc I just set up a novelupdates acc lolol

The schemes are very satisfying. This was the first danmei I familiarized myself with the term "face-slapping" and I've been obsessed ever since. Though I am confused at which part Xie Yang stopped scheming and start genuinely falling for Qiu Xing, their lovey-dovey scenes are still very much enjoyable. I also like how Xie Yang is very patient and supportive of Qiu Xing esp on... more>> the course of his treatment, and how Qiu Xing finally allowed himself to be cared for. The humor is also sprinkled just right (especially their interactions with Qiu Xing's nephew, who I forgot the name of). (Spoilers ahead) I especially loved the bit where they're both bribing (?) him with red packets - it was so funny. Their wedding also made me emotional, the comparison of their positions in the police station and the wedding reception is just chefs kiss.

This is one of the first danmeis that made me fall deeper into danmei. It's very well worth the read! <<less

What I liked about this book

  • Satisfying face-slapping and how OP the MC is.
  • Tsundere ML.
  • Good showbiz x business genre.
What I have to say about this book

  • A bit mediocre if not for the face-slapping and the romance (and yes I know this is a face-slapping romance novel).
  • Under developed side-characters and bland world building.
Rating : 8.5/10 (As they pulled off the unique plot-mix and we need more ML like Qiu Xing)

This novel is so second hand with nothing new to offer except for mixing postapocalyptic abilities, a bound system, OP MC, cold ML, maniacs and entertainment industry faceslapping into one piece that I do not really have to tell you what is wrong with it cz it is the same as all other novels with the same themes. But sometimes you want to read something predictable, with no angst and no nice characters dying, just something exactly like this. I did feel it was a bit long for this kind... more>> of a novel, cz I was looking forward to the end (in "how much longer do I have to read this 🙄" kind of way, not "i want to know how it all ends 😍" way) but I still finished it so it was not THAT bad. <<less

I have no words. This is just pure perfection. I love love love this novel. I highly recommend to readers. Give it a try, don't be skeptic, you won't regret this. It's worth your time and effort reading. Five starss!!

For those who can't access rainbow mushroom's site, Light Pub Novel has a good translation too

Not gonna write much because the other reviews says it all soooo here goes! This is REAL GOOD STUFF. If you're looking for entertainment circle drama (this is real classic stuff), mystery/thiller content (like damnnnnnnn) or sci-fi nonsense (the explanation gets a little wacky down the road), this is definitely what you're looking for!

Most of the cannon fodder here gets 'converted' and the main protagonist is an OP protagonist type. He is cold but... more>> cheeky towards our male lead. Our male lead... (Bless his heart) is a total tsundere! He is so awkward but sweet!

There is a real good plot and translation. What's better than that?! GO FOR IT GUYS! You won't regret it! <<less

I've been reading bl novels for a long time now and Novel Updates has been my loyal companion, but I created an account just to rate this novel.

5 stars.

I loved everything about it.

... more>> The MC is so smart, I honestly love this type of character. He takes what he wants by the right means, he's talented, he's protective, he's confident, he's straight forward with his words and actions. I really like him.

The ML is so cute. Very sneaky, giving love in disguise. He's a tsundere but he's gentle and loving. He's just shy, instead of being mean for no reason (some tsundere characters are written like that and I personally don't like it). Despite of being shy and a kind of conservative, he's pretty straight forward with his feelings at some point. The MC never suffered because the ML wasn't able to express his feelings (bcs of his tsundere personality) which is pretty satisfying to me, I don't really like that trope.

The story was great, fun and interesting, with emotional scenes that really get to you. Very well written (gotta thank the translator for that <3). I got a little bit lost at a certaint part near the end, but I understood the general idea of what happened so it didn't really matter.

Following the ML's journey with his sickness and his treatment was quite emotional. The MC's support throughout the novel was really touching, I'd be lying if I said that I didn't cry a couple of times.

Basically, a really good story, one of my favorites, you really should read it if you want a sweet love story with a interesting and well written plot. <<less

Based on premise, I genuinely passed by this novel several times. I made a lot of assumptions on what I thought this would be and I was totally mistaken, in the best way possible.

There are several things I liked about this book, especially in comparison to others. The plot was very fun, full of face-slapping and drama, which definitely made the read enjoyable and entertaining.

I really enjoyed the treatment of the characters. The MC is petty, and will always get his revenge regardless of the scale of the infraction.... more>> Which on paper, I wouldn’t like. But what I did like was that, even characters that pitted him would occasionally become side characters that he would get along with. A lot of other novels would simply brush them off as villains and quit after the face-slapping, but the MC would often add this person to his roster of resources. It was a smart and unique approach to more morally gray characters.

I also liked that the revenge aspects were never excessive or violent. If you try to embarrass the MC, you are embarrassed in return. If you commit a legitimate crime, you’re imprisoned. No gratuitous torture or excessive humiliation. It always felt like a justified response to the problems presented by other characters.

The ML was also a breath of fresh air. Is he a protective gong? Yes. Is he super powerful and drinks some vinegar? Yes, but it’s not excessive. He is also very shy, prudish, and somewhat naive, which made him a very unique ML for this type of novel. He’s a strong business leader, but also a doting husband. He was very sweet and always considerate of MCs feelings. He never gave me bad, predatory vibes that many gongs do.

Spoiler: he was also legitimately terminally ill. And loses his hair over the course of the novel. I was prepared to be amused by book magic when he loses his hair and magically has a wig that makes it look like he’s totally fine. They started to go in that direction and he actually decided against it. He was a genuine ML fighting cancer. He was sickly, exhausted, and honestly hopeless. While it may be a bit of a plot hole, I actually thought it was good that they didn’t overly focus on the depressing aspects of being terminally ill. Would have changed the tone of the entire novel.

Some negatives, which do not ruin the novel for me at all.

The system stuff felt a little unfinished. I could see what the author was going for, I like the direction of it, but it fell a little flat.

Spoiler: I actually thought it was really interesting that the demise of his original world could be directly linked to the Love Value System of this world. I was wondering if the apocalypse would ever be explained, and it kind of was. But like I said, it was mildly brushed over.

I also that is was extremely coincidental that he just happened to transmigrated in to a novel fit for his exact skill set. Despite the fact that he has been in the apocalypse for years lol. It was just one of those things where I had to roll my eyes and enjoy the novel for the entertainment value it provided.

Absolutely thankful that I didn’t have to endure lyrics or (god forbid) covers of mainstream music. Seriously, I would have died from the cringe. I bless the author for not making me endure something like that.

Anyway, super entertaining read. I highly recommend. <<less

This is sooo good! Totally worth the read. I never truly liked tsundere Characters but this is just adorably fluffy and sweet.

I would’ve rated this 10 stars if there’s smut but it’s still okay without it👌🏻

This story is sooooo good. I’m very glad I started it. At first I was not sure and hesitated for a long time but 5is is really so good. Really recommend you to try.

The story is very full filling. At first I felt a bit strange because of our MC and how he is a bit OP, but it didn’t ruin a story. More! He is not how he looks at first. And the same goes for ML. There are really a characters grows through the story. I really like... more>> it.

There is a good plot. We have enough of different kinds of drama and sugar. Sometimes it’s too funny, sometimes you will cry your eyes out. I like that I couldn’t predict the story and there was SUCH a big plot bomb. I’m very amazed. Author, you are amazing!

I was also a bit reluctant to read this story because of terminal illness of the ML, but it’s good. This added a new unique notes to the story. Our ML is not a typical ML at all and this is really good.

I love this novel and this couple. Thank you for a good read. The ending is gold. <<less

I reaaally want to see how the relationship of this two will go because it's really cute and I love slow burn. So far that's the only positive thing about this novel, the love progress between our MC and ml..

But the thing about the plot is ticking me off. As I've said it's too repetitive to the point that it gets boring.

I guess I'll leave it here. Maybe I'll come back and continue if my eagerness to know how the MC and ML will go is higher than my irritation over the repetitive plot. <<less

Ngl, I was expecting a more action-packed story where the MC is like drag-people-into-a-back-alley-and-beat-them-up kind of nasty, territorial, eats like a prisoner, and traumatized.

Kinda hoped he'd deck one of the celebrities in the face at one point.

It's average. The plot is meh, side characters are unremarkable, MC is a jack of all trades, the whole entertainment world seems to revolve around MC, supposedly funny netizen comments... Same old, same old. I just read it since I got nothing better to do and dropped it when MC and ML started dating for real.

Not a bad read to past time but you can find many better options than this one tbh lol. I've been reading "Don't pick up bf's from the tr*sh bin" for example, the name is... more>> quite sus but it's actually pretty good. <<less

A cute and fluffy story! Although it is a transmigration story with a system, it is more focused on the story and romance instead of the systems. An interesting read regardless, the interaction between the MC and ML is pretty cute. This is the kind of novel you would read when you just want a light-hearted story, especially when you just finished a novel full of angst and dog blood or before you read another novel that is full of angst or dog blood. But this is the kind of... more>> story that I would not re-read, once is enough. :)

🟢 Suitable for those who enjoy fluff and light-hearted stories, slow romance, plot development, cute dynamics between MC & ML.

🔴 Not suitable for those who think there are angst, dog blood, and misunderstandings. Also not suitable for those who want to know more of the character's back story and deep plot (although there is plot development, it doesn't go into it very deeply). <<less

THIS NOVEL WAS SO CUTE

I LIKE THE PROTAGONIST! I LIKE THE MALE LEAD! THE SIDE CHARACTERS ARE CUTE! AND THE VILLAINS ARE TERRIBLE!

This story made me write a review after 3 months.... Yes! It’s that good

The ML is the cutest. Sugar jar mouse...I ALWAYS had a smile when reading MC and ML’s interactions. Seriously, for me the ML is the highlight of this novel. After reading about all the cold, domineering and scum cliches that are MLs, Ah Xing was a sweet surprise. I am a ML fan.

MC was cool if a little OP. I liked that there was no typical family drama. No stepmothers and step siblings used as fillers. All... more>> the family disputes happen “offscreen” and are only mentioned in passing.

MC is too OP though. It’s a little hard to believe.

I loved, loved, loved the ML and MC dialogues. Hahaha. So fun to read. I liked the fact that MC is such a go getter. Lol

  • * The best part of this story is obviously the relationship of the two main characters.. Their relationship has both the matured and childish flavour.. I'll recommend it just for their relation and the male lead and also the ending.. The ending is so beautiful that it makes it worth reading..

    Pros --

    * Male lead Qiu Xing is totally a tsundere, but not in a boring way.. Instead his shy childlike approach is pretty refreshing..
  • He is one of the best gong I've ever read.. Not lustful, not unnecessarily cruel, not an a**hole.. He doesn't disregard lives of other people unrelated to him like tr*sh either.. A considerate CEO like him is very very hard to come by in the novel world..
  • The way he always touches Xie Yang's head, like coaxing a child, instead of doing smutty things, brings the romance to a different height..
  • When Xie Yang used his power to treat Qiu Xing or gave him hope for life, it just melts the heart..
Cons --

* Protagonist Xie Yang is smart and capable, but too overpowered.. There's basically almost no struggle.. Everything just went his way which made the middle part of the story really boring..

    • He was a good composer in his past life, but not a singer.. Yet he sang like a nightingale after transmigrating into a body with good voice.. And without any practice..
    • The owner of the current body was a very bad actor, whereas Xie Yang himself never acted or had any type of training before.. But he became an astounding actor just like that.. When he got the cinema role at chapter 70 or so, I really lost a lot of interest..
    • An average guy suddenly changed into a genius musician overnight, opened a company without any prior business knowledge.. But no one thought it strange as it typically happens in most of the transmigration or reincarnation stories..
    • And there's those lazy netizens again who have nothing to do all day long except wasting their life on some celebrities.. Most of the times it was too annoying to read..
    • There's is another thing.. The way Qiu Xing published his relationship with Xie Yang is s*upid.. Making his illness public, giving his rivals the chance to attack, also the will that'll attract hatred towards Xie Yang and harm him.. It's totally unbelievable that a veteran businessman like Qiu Xing wouldn't think of these consequences..
    • The middle part of this story is too boring to keep the interest up anymore..
* Last forty or so chapters made the story alive again.. Specially, the ending is too good, totally my taste.. I love how the comparison between the two photographs is used to finish the novel.. Therefore, final rating : 4/ 5
