When the last prodigy level esper on Earth disappeared, Earth was in deep trouble of becoming another species’ colony. Dark net is a subset of the Deep Web that is not only not indexed by traditional search engines, but that also requires special tools like specific proxy or authentication to gain access. Dark net is not restricted by any law or morals, so the dark net market has everything that is prohibited by the law. Drugs, s*aves, firearms, uranium, bioweapons, rare animals, human testing, assassination, and the list goes on. During the year of 2075 on Earth, Han Lang logged into the largest hyperspace dark net market, and our story begins.

This novel was very good at the start

But it gets wimpy as the Novel advances.

I came here expecting to find something a like Seoul station necromancer or emperor of solo play, sense of individual (selfishness) very focus-driven story, but this is far from it.

we don't see an independent, uncompromising hero, but a self righteous rage filled protagonist who defends earth because he was born there, making the whole "I'm alone but ambitious" premise, wich can lead one to think that this may be the history of a very individual-defined principles... more>> theme, with very rare and clearly defined values..

But this turns in the standard Xi'an xiA kingdom building patriotic, mindless, unending grind and group thinking kind of novel.

Just to let new readers know, it's easier to criticise a work than praising it. To praise it, you can just say pretty much anything you say to other novels. Just add it's original concept, if any, and that's pretty much it. Pretty easy? Well, guess what, criticizing it is even easier. If you thought praising was repetitive, then criticizing it is even more repetitive. You basically say the same thing you say to other 'bad' novels, and maybe add some spoiler, I guess.

What I'm trying to say is that,... more>> likr any novel out there, the novel is not as bad haters make it out, but probably not as good as the lovers say it to be. That much is common sense. It's just that, something so basic, but we actually forget about it sometimes. I just wanted to remind you, new readers, to not be afraid in reading it, and I do think it's very very good. <<less

What can I say, amazing novel.

MC is a quite lucky, but is also very badass and fight scenes are great. No sticks standing in place and summoning the Apocalypse while the other waits for it. (god.. after reading WOC im sure I will like any fight scenes, that was a dreadful read.)

MC's personality is quite good, but I still don't get why he loves earth so much, but I guess its duo to the scale of novel. Very hardworking and is not afraid to take chances or use what... more>> he can use, but knows when to stop.

Not gonna go into more details, just read it.

A definite must read even if you don't like sci-fi. I'm for an example a very big hater of sci-fi and scales that exceed the world (which is basically what this novel is all about), but I still read it and was instantly hooked... <<less

The story and execution are decent. The characters are interesting, and while there is a love interest, the author doesn't push the romance. The problem is the battles. Every single battle comes down to one basic formula: Han challenges opponent stronger than him! Han is pressed! Han goes for a double su*cide! Han turns OP and wins! A miracle saves Han's life! Author rolls a dice to decide Han's power-up! And then the author rinses and repeats for every following battle. The first few times the battles are original; following... more>> that they're a drag. <<less

I'm loving this novel. I've started reading it yesterday and I can't stop. I'm very grateful for the translator for bringing us this wonderful story! So keep up the good work! :D

I could write a review about the story and all, but since there are so many reviews this is all I can say. This a 5 stars story to me in all aspects, I could be more sceptical about it, but I just simply love this story and I don't really need reasons to love something. Though I can... more>> give some: We have an OP MC, the beautiful female lead who can't cheat on him, and the MC isn't a pu*sy when it comes to fighting. I've read only 74 chapters though and the love has yet to come into picture, but it surely will. :D <<less

The story is incredible, as it builds up, multiple questions arise that the author adresses when he deems it fit. This way he keeps the story interesting.

I really dislike sci-fi novels. They try to blast you with a bunch of jargon and fake science and try to use it to push the plot.

This novel has an overwhelming amount of votes for it, which was what prodded me to check it out, and man it is turning out to be one of the best novels I've found on this site. The OPness isn't much of an issue (yet) and if you read the novel, you'll see why. It also has very few tropes that chinese novels usually... more>> have which is a major plus in my book. Props to the noodle crew for their fast translation speed and easy to read website design. <<less

This novel is refreshing as it's set in a futuristic and technological age. The novel provides another view on cultivation through the use of esper powers and technological armaments illustrated by various species such as humans, dragons and beasts. One thing to mention that I love about this novel is that the MC is heavily tied to being the saviour of his country in constant crisis. This is probably one of the very few light novels that contains advanced technology, martial arts, advanced medicine, psychic powers, etc..... and still keeps me hooked.

Probably going to read this again from the very beginning once I run out of stuff to read lol.

I'm hard to please when it comes to novels of this Genre, but I have to say, GDN is really well written. I love the effort that went into both character development and world building, I love the fact that the fight scenes are relevant and not just space fillers (which is what a lot of authors do), But even more I love how the author transitioned between arcs.

That said there are bits here and there that are unrealistic, but as my son pointed out, we read fantasy to escape,... more>> not to revisit reality, <<less

If you like sci-fi theme novel, then this novel might be to your taste. Currently this novel in my top list, I hope more people read this novel, reaching top 10 for this novel in NU isn't a big problem as long as the writer can keep the current pace or make it even more entertaining.

Interesting story and setting. Side characters seem to be lost due to MC progression speed.

My biggest problem with the series is the luck factor. The loot he gets is more than somebody specialized in the area would be able to achieve. To make an example, you find a wallet and it has 100€ in it if you are lucky. If the MC finds it it has 10 000 000€ and a note on how to open the bank vault with the good stuff.

Amazing novel.

Was wary about it first but after a few chapters I was completly hooked. Could not stop reading it. If you love a good sci fi novel then you will enjoy it for sure.

This is a modern fantasy, bizzare circumstances along with a unique world setting make this novel different from others of the same genre.

"I like it." Actually with these words I could stop this Review but in the end I will write a bit more!

I was actually quite torn about the decision whether to give it a 4/5 or a 5/5.

Its a fairly mature story but not really gory (in any case I haven't noticed it). There is a good pace in it, a good flow of new "events" that happen - not too many not too few. The Main character is quite likable as actually all the other characters you get to... more>> know in the first few chapters. The only thing I have to complain about is...

... that in chapter 49 the so named " geniuses" seem quite forced in by the author to introduce the reader to the next part of the story.

But thats actually complaining on quite high level. The world is something more refreshing as it has a more scifi theme, which raises it a little bit from the mass. The author seems to know what he does and that quite well.

And at last "Noodletown Translated" does a good job with the translation through which it's pleasant to read. <<less

Is it good? Binged and read from chapter 1 to 54 (latest currently translated).

The closest novel to this is probably Swallowed Star. It is a modern science based universe populated with supernatural beings, and Earth is currently under threat from various alien civilizations.

In the beginning few chapters the path to becoming a hero for the MC is much more colorful and entertaining than other novels out there. The backdrop for the novel is the milky way galaxy but since its still the beginning of the novel most of the action... more>> has taken place on Earth. <<less

Like combat, super powers, a detailed well-written world, and interesting characters? Want something besides you're standard xianxia, reincarnation, virtual reality, or rpg novel, set in a science fiction world and based on science? This is it. Well paced story, well written, and entertaining, and translated by a group that does a good job translating, releases daily, and appears to be willing to keep doing it. If you're looking for something high-quality and different, you definitely ought to check it out.

Review as chapter 40:

The story is good, the world is pretty detailed and well though. The MC is hardworking, intelligent, and a pretty good person (for now), yet the combat motto his "teacher" instilled in him is "take a blow to give three" so its quite savage and ruthless.

As every hero out there he has a cheat and the "coincidences" surround him everywhere he goes. One thing that I didn't like much was that the Dark Net pass he inherits and his esper power don't have anything to do... more>> with each other: he just buys it at random and gets lucky (unless there's a sudden revelation in the future) but that's how chinese novels go. Also he meets overpowered backers left and right, instead of a ghost master in a ring.

Some may think the story is slow, but I prefer a detailed setting with lots of likeable secondary characters and worldbuilding.

ps. Love interest sighted sir! It's a SSS-class Tsundere! (or at least I think she is... may change in the future) <<less

This sh*t its amazing, its heroic as f*ck. 10/10, and the cultivation method seems like xianxia meets RPG meets Space Opera its weird but it taste so good. If you want to read about Hero's defending earth and making last standing against lots of enemies then this is for you. <<less

Omg funniest dark story ever

Pretty good so far :)

Don't be put off by the description, this is actually a pretty good story. MC isn't shallow or arrogant (yet, not sure if he will get arrogant) and is actually hard working despite being OP. Some may say that this story progresses at a slow pace but in my opinion, it's just right for this story. The author doesn't drag out events and instead uses the slow pace to do some great world building. Thumbs up for not for not having... more>> those stoopid harems that wreck all stories either. Also despite some of the story's darker themes, it doesn't get on your nerves or make you super uncomfortable. This is probably because the author has balanced the darkness well with lighter themes of friendship/camaraderie and the like. tldr; Just read it x'D <<less

I really like this kind of novel....

typical chinese novel, MC got some power up, but the way the author build the momentum is very nice.

I recommend this novel to read, but I must warn you that there will be mature, some dark... torture kind of things... so if you don't like it.. find another novel to read
