Lu Wenxing was very confused, obviously he had a beautiful face which was admired by everyone in the entertainment industry, he could sing, dance and act, but he still wasn’t popular.

Until…

He had a dream.

In the dream he was just a character in a book, the ending was already predetermined.

All his efforts were worthless under the aura of the main character Wen Yu.

Because –

He was a cannon fodder that set off the main character.

Lu Wenxing didn’t want to be a sidekick, so he handed a letter of termination of contract to the agent. The next day, he accidentally became popular because of a video.

[Ah!!! I can’t believe it, such a cute brother!] [Crowdfunding small brother’s debut, please! ! ! 】

Who was planning to leave the entertainment industry? ? ?

The entire C city knew that the Wen family had a little prince who was loved by thousands of people, and his birthday party was so flamboyant and extravagant that it made the headlines.

But what they didn’t know was that Wen Yu wasn’t the youngest prince of the Wen family. And the real young prince was abducted at an early age and hadn’t been found.

When the paternity test report came out, the Wen family couldn’t wait to find Lu Wenxing, but they were afraid of scaring him.

“Xingxing, do you remember mommy?”

“Xingxing, I’m dad, does that ring a bell?”

“Xingxing, call me brother.”

#Shocking news! The popular star Lu Wenxing is actually the lost little prince of the Wen family! #

[Ahhhhh! Prince choose me, I’m super sweet!] [All of you should leave, I’m the real Crown Princess!] The movie star Gu Yanshen, who hasn’t sent a single tweet in months, quietly went online: @LuWenxing, the little prince, is mine.

The beginning was interesting, I was really anticipating how MC’s family will find him.

Afterwards, it was just so so.

The romance was okay but it wasn’t really good either.

I’ve read a lot of similar plots or stories like this so that must be why I feel “desensitized” to this already.

It’s an okay read but don’t expect too much

Torn because I have two very different opinions at once. I think the writing for the MC and the male lead individually is great, and I appreciate their personalities. On the other hand, I think their romance was was under utilized and not that great. The surrounding plot was also very generic to me.

A big thank you to the translator for bringing this book to my attention! I hope to be able to re-read this novel one day with your translations rather than MTL ^^

[SPOILER=Review]I loved this novel! I don't know if I'd say it was anything groundbreaking, but it was really sweet and cute. I'd recommend this if you're looking for something light and a sweet BL entertainment circle novel whose focus is on the growth of the relationship between the MC and ML. There's not really too much (if any) drama/misunderstandings/angst... more>> between the main couple, and if there are any, they are typically resolved quickly.

As I'm reading from MTL, some of my comments or opinions could be wrong or more lenient. The MTL for this story was actually pretty good though.

While the MC was not overwhelmingly OP, he was a bit of a gary-stu. It wasn't annoying for me, and it definitely wasn't on the level of, say, the MC from QWFoD, but everyone (save for some black fans, antagonists) mentioned likes him, and he's pretty much able to handle anything that comes his way. He's not magically good at everything -- he puts in the work for all his skills, and you can see evidence of him working hard to polish his acting, etc -- but it's definitely basically a smooth ride to the top for him. But OP MCs are my guilty pleasure so take everything I'm saying with a grain of salt lol. (Honestly, I've read so many OP MC novels on this website that my scale is probably a little off for people who DON'T like that kind of stuff) They also didn't really encounter much opposition from their fans when they announced it (at least not that is shown in the novel), which might is unrealistic, but fits in with what I wanted from this novel.

Minor gripe:
Spoiler

LWX has singing/dancing skills but it's not really developed on outside of a minor "wow MC is so talented!!" and a small part of the first variety show. It's because LWX doesn't really want to go the idol route, he just wants to act, but as someone who wants the MC to be a triple-threat superstar I was a little disappointed.

[collapse]
As a side note, I know a lot of people tend to dislike the Weibo/netizen comments, but I tend to like it because I enjoy reading about everyone's reactions to the events that occur, especially since I think fan opinions are very important for people in the entertainment industry. I didn't feel as if there was an overwhelming amount of netizen comments -- it felt like it was there when it should have been, and absent when it shouldn't -- but it is present in this novel, for those who are totally against it.

I think what made this novel stand out from the trove of entertainment novels out there would be the relationship dynamic between the MC and ML. They just had such insane chemistry to me, and their flirting often took the form of banter, which is always a plus. Most of all, they understood each other and took care of each other, but they didn't restrict the other from doing what they wanted.

Spoiler

The only exception to this that I can remember right now would probably be the people (including the ML) around the MC restricting what foods he ate since the MC tended to overeat sweets. Some people might view this as problematic/controlling or like they're treating the MC as a child, but I personally didn't feel like it was disrespectful or controlling, but rather a show of love/care. The restriction wasn't out of a fear that he'd be fat, but that it would be too unhealthy.

[collapse]

Although MC is often portrayed in a more innocent light, he wasn't s*upid, and he tended to give as good as he got. He was bold in the way that you'd expect of someone around his age, and actually initiated a lot of the growth in their relationship. Their relationship was just so cute!! I was right there with the netizens eating the dogfood and waiting for sugar. There weren't any cannon fodder competitors for love either.

Another thing that I want to highlight about this novel is the lack of discrimination towards females. (Or at least, it wasn't obvious enough for me to pick up while I was casually reading.) I notice that a lot of BL stories will either have vicious and flat female cannon fodder villains that do all sorts of crazy things to the MC for the ML, a bunch of women portrayed as gold-diggers and sl*ts, or just no women in general. Although unspoken rules/gold masters were mentioned several times, it wasn't a huge part of the story, and it wasn't specifically targeting women. The women in this story were supportive of the relationship and the MC/ML had several female friends. (At least, I'm pretty sure they were female. MTL can sometimes be tricky about that.)

An overview of the plot:
Spoiler

Our MC, Lu Wenxing, has a dream that he's the cannon fodder of an entertainment novel. He decides to retire from the entertainment circle in order to avoid the death of his friends and family, but through a series of coincidences, ends up being picked by the ML, Gu Yanshen, to join him as GYS' guest on a variety show. He ends up becoming popular and our leads get closer over the course of the show. GYS ends up inviting him to audition for a movie that GYS is going to act in, and though LWX initially refuses due to his intention to retire, he ends up accepting and getting the part. GYS also helps him break off his contract with LWX's current entertainment company. As the story progresses, they continue to work together, either because GYS invites LWX, or because GYS accepts an invitation since he heard LWX was going to be there. As all of this is happening, LWX ends up coincidentally meeting members of the Wen family (who, as you would expect, owns a corporation with multiple subsidiaries, and is extremely rich and powerful), who discover he is actually their long-lost son. He had been kidnapped as a child, and the Wen family had always been investigating his disappearance. The active investigation into the kidnapping mostly occurs in the background, since LWX is filming, but occasionally the POV changes to Wen Zheng (MC's older brother) to give us more information on what is occurring. LWX is aware of events but is not actively helping. The novel ends with the couple getting engaged, though the extras go into the marriage and the variety show the couple joins together (the variety show is a game variety show where multiple married couples are competing against each other.)

[collapse]

The events behind the kidnapping and the mastermind:
Spoiler

It's hinted pretty early on, but the mastermind of LWX's kidnapping was actually Wen Yu, the MC in LWX's dream. He actually transmigrated into this world as a kid. It's a little unclear from MTL whether LWX was actually supposed to be kidnapped, but based on what I can interpret the LWX was supposed to just be scared, but something went wrong and LWX was brought away by a couple from the orphanage. WY's original plan was to make LWX be reliant on him so that he could be adopted into the Wen family. Instead, he is merely taken care of financially (not actually adopted) by the Wen family due to a separate incident. It is revealed that the orphanage is actually trafficking orphanages by having a fake couple come to "adopt" them and bring them elsewhere.

[collapse]

The novel:
Spoiler

The dream that LWX has about the novel is fake. It was a result of his roommate/friend talking to him about a novel that he read, but LWX doesn't remember the conversation and thus thinks it's real. In actuality, the world IS one from a novel, and only WY knows the original novel because he transmigrated into it after having read it. In that original novel, LWX was the MC. The novel that his roommate/friend read was actually based on information that the author (a later friend of LWX, named Cheng Xuan) got from WY, who CX thought was his friend. WY had actually just befriended him because CX was a successful author/scriptwriter in the original world, but thanks to WY changing events, CX was traumatized as a child (he was present when LWX got kidnapped) and he wasn't great at writing initially. It's only after LWX helps him break out of his shell a little bit that CX becomes a successful author/scriptwriter. LWX (and WZ, since LWX tells him) later think that WY has rebirthed/transmigrated, though they are rightfully disbelieving. They don't ever confront WY about it though.

[collapse]

If you read my entire review, wow. I hope it was/will be a little help to you! I didn't mean to write an essay lol but I did want to write something a little more in-depth since there aren't many reviews for this book yet. I'll probably re-read this when it's translated and edit my review if needed. Sorry for how dry my spoilers were! I didn't want to give too much away, but I also wanted to make sure there was a spoiler for the plot if someone wanted it, so it ended up becoming a really bland summary. I really did like this novel though! It made me laugh and feel good, which... isn't the highest of standards, so I suppose that isn't saying much. Have a nice day! <<less

What a coincidense! I just read this one in June and it was actually picked up. Wonderful. Good things should be shared :)

This story is quite easy when you just want to have a leisure read and enjoy. It has an unusual twist to it, which was unexpected. I also really loved the relationships, between Wenxing and Yanshen, but also between Wenxing and his biological parents. The text is a bit inspirational path to success and be against a transmigrator.

I really liked the idea how author wrapped up the... more>> whole cannon fodder story and a true story. Although it was indeed a bit silly, but the consequences of that silliness were quite huge tbh, for MC that is.

SPOILERiSh AHEAD. At first you'd believe that MC actually was a cannon fodder in the story, but when you reach a certain revelation, you realize that MC was just under the impression of a written story his roommate shared with him and MC was in truly bad state to distinguish between reality and falsehood. Which created his initial impression of being a cannon fodder and wish to leave entertainment, but actually worked as a warding shield against several truly bad things happening to him. That's how he got together with ML in the first place and Yanshen is the one who inspired him to continue to study and work.

MC also meets his biological parents and finds out the truth about himself. I love this part because it wasn't handled in an abrupt way of - you're our son, let's go home. His parents were really respectful and probing at first finding if Wenxing knew he was adopted, if he looked for them, does he want to go back at all. This was really nice. First parents in a long run that know they lost their son and found it, but love the child and want their child to make a choice bu himself. And it also uncovers the truth how Wenxing was lost and who was responsible for it. And that is Wen Yu of course.

Wen Yu transmigrates as an adult into a young boy's body. He basically knows the story of Wen family (which is the initial true story that supposed to happen) and wants to substitute one of the children. His initial thought wasn't about harming Wenxing, because he was most jealous of the girl who originally was supposed to be adopted by the Wen family and become a little princess of the Wens. Thanks to Wen Yu this idea fell through and he took her place (not really, he conspired with the orphanage, made it look like he was kidnapped instead of Wenxing so Wens would feel sorry for him). It kind of worked, but also didn't reach his goal. His later plan of scaring Wenxing, so Wenxing would be dependent on him ended up badly and the kidnappers dropped Wenxing into the river where he later was picked up. Wenxing didn't remember who he was and later started to search for his biological parents. His adoptive parents also treated him well and he grew up in a good environment. While this happened Wen Yu thought he won the lottery, but although his plan was half success, it was also a big failure. Wenxing's brother always was sceptical about Wen Yu and although Wen Yu later used the status of Wen family to his advantage, Wens never supported or cared about him, they gave him education and everything needed, but when found he was the one responsible for their child to be lost, you can imagine how it backfired on Wen Yu.

In general it's a well-crafted novel and it's worth spending time if you're in this type of story. Personally I'd give it 4, 5/5 :) <<less

I don't why, but some people leave a review with saying 'IT'S NOT LOGIC', hey child, didn't you learning what the meaning of 'novel' word?

Hell ya, you were reading the fantasy one and didn't sating anything abt logical, is your eyes didn't working or ur one of your brain cell have been lost? Is the word 'Quick Transmigration' or 'Transmigration' seems logic for you?

  1. You need to read more about the meaning of novel, child. Read it 1000 times then read the meaning of all of the tags about novel that u want to read first, then read the novel so after that u can give a real review that not something child will say

Very Gary-Sueish. The plot is a bit all over the place and some logic doesn’t make sense. The MC and his family’s interactions are actually the only enjoyable element about this. Even the ML couldn’t come close. And seriously, making the “cannon-fodder” who took MC’s “spot in the family” evil? That plot is sooo overused. Like please, if you’re gonna do it, do it good.

Anyways, it’s an okay read. Not the best, something that’ll you can just start in a night and finish the next morning if you want. A... more>> little of a waste of time, but if you don’t feel like doing anything, this might be a good option.

I am criticizing this novel pretty harshly, but it’s not horrible written. It just follows too many cliches and is not very well constructed to be praised. <<less

Two chapters in and I hated the MC so much (lol, unpopular opinion). MC is supposed to be good at dancing, acting, singing, and drawing (oh forgot he's supposed to be super handsome/beautiful too)... BUT he has got no brain and is such a flat 2d character with no personalities that just do whatever the author told him to. I got to chapter 6 and quit.

The part where MC was trying to quit the entertainment industry in the beginning was so s*upid and had no logic sense. Like he went... more>> to his agent and demanded a termination of his contract at a fine of $10 million but he doesn't care about the fine even though he only do commission drawing to make a living? He acted all high and mighty and beat people up and demanded to quit but then still go audition for the TV show and stole it from other people? I was like I thought you are going to quit? His character really just go hot and cold depending on what the author want him to be. Sometimes he talked sh*t and acted like a bigshot and other times when the situation is favorable to him (like the audition) he kept his mouth shut while pretend to not want to audition to gain attention. He could have said, "I'm sorry but I'm not here for the audition" and leave but nope he stuck around/kept his mouth shut and accepted the audition and then pretend that he was force to do so later.

He is more of a white lotus/greentea bit*h than a Gary Stu character. <<less

I really liked this novel and I'm actually surprised by how polarizing the reviews are, when I think this is certainly one of the better works in its genre. I certainly think this deserves more than the 4.1 stars it currently has at the moment.

This is a very easy and cozy read, and I definitely recommend this to people who don't like overcomplicated and abused dog-blood drama and overkill revenge stories. I also think that the plot twist was a fun way to play with the genre and I very... more>> much enjoyed the humorous touch it gave the plot overall.

Spoiler

This is actually more of an Outside POV of a Transmigration story and is only a Second Chance story by technicality. To be clear, this isn't MC's second chance, the beginning of the story is actually hilariously misleading, made possible by a comedy of errors. MC didn't dream of the plot of the world, the dream he had was the result of him drowsily listening to the ramblings of his friend, who read the novel of a writer who only wrote the novel precisely because of the actual Transmigrator's machinations. It sounds convoluted in the silliest way possible. One of the greatest source of hilarity is how the MC stresses about whether he is or isn't a character in a book throughout the novel and how the plot seems to be teasing him about his conundrum.

To start from the beginning, the Transmigrator of the story, Wen Yu, read the original novel of the plot where the MC, Wenxing, is a beloved little prince of a rich family who had a smooth sailing showbiz career and romance with his ML. When Wen Yu was reading the novel, he wasn't jealous of Wenxing, but of Wenxing's adopted sister, Si Si who was also deeply loved by the Wen family and lived a similarly smooth sailing life. Wen Yu, who was also an orphan, was jealous of her and wanted to have the life that Si Si had.

When Wenxing was young, he wanted a sister so badly that after some serious discussions with the entire family, they decided to find a little girl to welcome into their family. Wen Yu decided to manipulate the plot so that instead of Si Si, he would be the one taken in by the Wen family. But the circumstances he arranged failed to give him the result he wanted and the Wen family only decided to foster him or ward him until his adulthood because they only felt sympathy for his situation. Angered by not getting what he wanted, Wen Yu decided to stage another incident that he thought would push the family into adopting him. He wanted to stage a kidnapping and rescue for the young Wenxing that would indebt the family to him and finally make them adopt him.

But his plans went awry and instead, Wenxing disappeared, got his memories repressed by the trauma the incident caused, and was adopted by a poor but very loving family who cared for him like he was their own. Because of this, his birth family suffered great emotional loss and conflict and never even considered adopting Wen Yu after they lost their own biological child, and he never ended up getting the things that he wanted to steal from the Si Si in the story.

Wen Yu then spent effort throughout the years to try to avoid Wenxing from being found or crossing paths with his birth family because it could reveal his hand in the crime. During this time, he looked for the best friend of the MC in the original novel who became a writer and later wrote a story that catapulted the MC to stardom in the original plot. But because the character witnessed the kidnapping incident that Wen Yu plotted when he was a child, he grew up with unresolved trauma that completely changed his disposition to be antisocial, anxious, and lacking of self-esteem. Wen Yu then made him write the plot that Wenxing came to know while changing some details. One of the changes he made him write was making Lu Wenxing a separate character from the main character of the book, "Wen Chi". A friend of Wenxing ends up reading this novel and Wenxing spends one night drowsily listening to his friend's rants, causing him to "dream" about the novel and believe that he's just cannon fodder in someone else's story.

Because Wenxing thinks the plot of the world written with Wen Yu's influence was the true plot, he actually spends the early part of the novel worrying about getting punished by the World Consciousness™ from stepping outside of the plot, and decided that the best way to spare his and his loved ones' lives was to completely step away from the entertainment industry and keep his distance from who he thought was the MC of the world, Wen Yu. In an ironic twist of events, however, the World Consciousness™ was actually working against Wen Yu and helping Wenxing all along.

[collapse]

With the heavy spoilers out of the way, I have to say that I disagree with the notion that Wenxing, our MC, is a gary stu. It is more accurate to say that he's unambitious and doesn't overreach. In fact, throughout the story, while he is shown to experience a successful career, he is never made to seem like a once in a lifetime talent who wins one award after another and shakes the industry from the inside-out like some other certainly gary stu MCs of the same genre. He also isn't made out to be some legendary beauty who is better looking than everyone else. Rather, MC is talented and beautiful within the parameters of his own work. He works hard to understand his roles and is merely unexpectedly adaptable to the aesthetics of whatever project he is working on. Despite his success, he is never made out to be the center of the universe or the center of everybody else's lives.

If I were to describe his character, I'd say he is unbothered and adaptable. He knows his priorities and enforces his boundaries. He is decisive and dedicates himself to things he decides to work on. He isn't a naive martyr who lets himself be stomped around, he just doesn't care about unimportant people's opinions. He knows how to choose his fights and just ignores issues that he doesn't deem important. He also knows his weakness well and lets the people who can handle the problem deal with it. I actually find it funny that some find his character to be shy as he is very much unflappable and doesn't hesitate to poke back when he is being teased. He isn't someone who is lacking of life experiences and handles himself well. I love competent characters like him.

In regards to the ML, I think he's one of the most reasonable ML's I've read so far. Him urging the MC into pursuing his acting career early on wasn't made out of a need to control the MC's life. Rarher, as an artist, he saw the MC's potential and passion for the craft and wanted to extend him his support in hopes to see him succeed. He takes Wenxing under his wing and gives him resources he thought Wenxing would do well in and helped him polish his craft throughout their collaborations.

The romance between the two actually develop really well. They first start a cordial, if hilarious, senior-junior relationship that develops into a friendship that become more ambiguous as they both grow feelings for each other. And being two straight-forward people, they didn't spend too much time twiddling their thumbs when they realized that their feelings were requited.

I think the strongest point of this novel is that, despite the sinister plots that Wen Yu creates in the story, the plots don't overindulge and are reasonably resolved. The drama doesn't drag and the conflicts that can be resolved quickly are resolved quickly, without milking it for all it's worth. Wen Yu's plots are vile without being absurd, self-serving without leaving the scope of his own motivations. The pacing was really well-done and allows you to appreciate the impact of each arc in just the right amount of dosage.

The rest of the characters are also well-developed and very easy to love. In total, I think there are only a total of four antagonists in the story that are spent time on and they were dealt with justly and within reason. The minor characters have such distinct characters and relationships and it's actually fun to see all of them interacting together.

I think my only gripe with the story is how the MC was so tied at the hip with ML in his acting career. I don't think the MC was given enough space to grow on his own away from the ML's sphere of influence. It felt so much like his career was inseperable from the ML's and like he was constantly in his shadow. This is not because the ML tries to tie him down to his side, but rather because the projects Wenxing takes on his own are almost never explored and his progress as an actor in those projects are also rarely shown. That said, this is also very much in line with the MC's unbothered and chill characterization. He doesn't hold unreasonable pride or prideful ego in his career and is not terribly ambitious. He isn't a star wanting to be at the pinnacle of the industry, but rather, just an artist who enjoys his work and does his best to make the most of the opportunities he is given. <<less

a good read entertainment//lost child//etc!! There's mysteries on how the MC known some parts of the story haha and more twist ad turns on what happened how he got separated from his main family.

I agree to biological and adopted family were the bessst. MC was raised properly and both sides didn't give up in finding each other. MC doesn't have that low EQ like the other review says considering both MC and ML had never been in love. BUT when they realize their feelings it was not like delayed much,... more>> They faced it and been planning on how to confess to each other haha. MC is such a lovable chara!! Gives ML the security that he somehow lacks from childhood at the same time ML is also caring and accommodating to MC. They deserve each other. <<less

The only reason I'm writing this review is because of the low rating. I believe this novel deserves a higher rating.

!!WARNING!! This review will contain minor spoilers, the major spoilers will be in the spoiler box.

My personal rating- 4.5/5

... more>> When I first saw the reviews for this novel, my hopes weren't high at all. The only reason I decided to read it is because I couldn't find anything else of interest. And let me tell you, I don't regret reading this at all!

Plot-4.2/5

Pretty decent. Not the best, but not the worst. It's actually quite cliché ngl. I have nothing else to say about it.

MC-4.6/5

I like how the MC first believed the world to be a novel and then he didn't, and then he did again lol. The MC was quite "cold" and "unapproachable" in the beginning but we could see him acting much nicer to his family and friends and how he slowly started warming up to his fans and the ML. By the end of the novel, the MC seems to have lost his "cold" and "unapproachable" persona and instead became kinder. I take this as character development. Overall, I love the MC, he's definitely one of my favorite characters.

ML-4.6/5

The ML is very supportive and understanding of the MC and the PPL around him. To be honest, I can't think of what to even write about him. He's a great character, and his chemistry with the MC is great. I like how
Spoiler

even though MC first rejected his marriage proposal, he was understanding and respected the MC's wishes and was prepared to be rejected the second time he proposed too (but ofc the MC accepted)

[collapse]

Supporting Characters-4.7/5

Haha, I love them all. Especially Song jiajia and MC's older brother. I would say the side characters actually make up for alot of the story and the story wouldn't nearly be as interesting without them. Honarable mentions are MC's parents (both adoptive and biological). I love how they just decided to do everything together as one whole family instead of seperating MC from him adoptive parents. It was really sweet. I won't bother talking about the side characters anymore as I can keep going on and on about them all day. I don't want this review to be too long, heh.

Main CP-4.75/5

Pretty generic. But sweet. I enjoyed their interactions. Normally, in some novels, after the main CP gets together I tend to lose interest and stop reading the novel all together. But that wasn't a problem with this novel somehow. The chemistry between the MC and ML was also great. Like I said, pretty generic. But sweet.

Side CP-5/5

Hah. You thought. Sorry to break it to you, there is no side CP.

Barrage/comments-4.6/5

Normally I tend to stay away from entertainment circle or gaming novels, as I get overwhelmed and feel as if the barrage is taking over 70% of the novels content. However, this novel balances it out perfectly and doesn't overdo it. Which I rarely come across.

Spoiler Section-

I won't be making the spoilers 100% clear as im too lazy. But they should be enough to satisfy your curiosity.

Wen Yu-

Spoiler

No. Wen Yu is not innocent (obviously). It is revealed that a transmigrator who was an orphan transmigrated into Wen Yu's body and he planned for Sisi to not get adopted and for MC to be kidnapped as he wanted to be loved by the Wen family and enjoy the same treatment a biological child would. He said that he wasn't jealous of MC and was jealous of Sisi. But its obvious that he's jealous of MC too.

MC's Past-

Spoiler

Long story short, he was kidnapped by the owners of the orphanage (wen Yu's parents) so that they could replace MC with wen yu as the wen family's child. MC got thrown into a river but luckily he was saved by the Lu/Xie family and they raised him. (I'm not 100% clear about this info as I MTL'd it so take it with a grain of salt :p)

[collapse]

I personally can't think of any more important spoilers that anyone would be curious about. So, the spoiler section will end here peeps.

MTL-4.5/5

It was readable and understandable. It was pretty nice.

As for the translation by the translator I don't remember the quality too well but I'm sure it was great as I had no problem reading it.

Overall, this novel is a pretty light read and is mainly filled with fluff, sugar, and dog food! I recommend you to give it a try.

Typical actor novel I would say, the MC is a mary sue with a touch of "MC found out he's a cannon fodder in a novel" stuff. He's not s*upid like some reviews said, he's just not as ambitious as other reborn MC I would say. He rather retreats than face the supposedly og protagonist head on. But he still held hopes for acting because it has always been his dream, he couldn't let go, he still took jobs but treated it as if it would be his last because... more>> he still wanted to quit. He just doesn't want to end up like in the original story. I think he's kinda relatable in that aspect. He's not the type that would actively seek revenge and face slap, very chill.

ML is also not overly overbearing, he doesn't push MC beyond his comfortable zone. He never forces him to do anything. Actually giving him life advices. I like this type of mature ML who knows boundaries.

The plot twist about MC's "rebirth" tho!!!! It was funny and interesting. First time I read something like that in this type of novel. The mystery surrounding his kidnapping when he was a child is also interesting enough to make me curious and I want to keep reading to know the truth. All in all, a unique and interesting story for me. <<less

There’s some pretty good reviews out here and I’m sure, considering the writing and plots and hints established so far, they actually are more realistic and faithful to this novel than mine, but I just can’t take this romance so I’m dropping this.

In less than 20 (short!) chapters, MC and ML already went from “strangers and at most acquaintances” to “yes, I’m jealous of him and blush every time he’s near”, and although that can be handled well in most novels, it simply feels rushed and awkward to me and... more>> I can’t get over this. Plus, the fact ML completely disregards MC’s decision of quitting the entertainment industry and keeps pushing him again and again just doesn’t stick with me. If he wants to quit, then he must have his reasons right? Well, according to ML, no (which is frankly s*upid).

Plus, somehow MC has two sides of a same personality, laidback and uninterested X obedient and shy, that swing back and forth like a pendulum whenever he’s with ML, which seriously gives me whiplash, and is never acknowledged anywhere. And ML’s characterization is not that solid either...

3 stars from delightful writing and the potential, the deducted stars are from character consistency and emotional construction being severely lacking. <<less

Overall it focuses on showbiz, the ML trying to pursue MC and a little family appearance. Very sweet and cute. Theres a bit if a drama but doesnt really made an impact to MC.
Spoiler

ML is a little extra every time there is a family outing where mc's parents and brother want to bond with MC he'll go there and steal the spotlight. Always like that for a couple of chapters. But I guess that is how it was supposed to be with him chasing the MC.

All in all im waiting for this to be translated since my brain froze reading the mtl.

This is a light novel. The conflict was really light, and this has just 100+ chapters.

I finished this on mtl, which is readable naman.

I like this one, I feel like in the book the world consciousness was trying hard to fight back and bring the plot back to its original trajectory.

Which it did. And it's really nice.

I recommend this to people who love entertainment industry, bl, and fluff.

Spoiler

Gu Yanshen, the male lead, his parents didn't deserve to have a child like him.

I almost forgot to write a review lmao... Anway...

I do really love this even tho there are some flaws but it doesn't affect much the reading experience. I just find it bland with how they dealt with that green tea b*tch, it's not satisfying (I want BLOOD lol jk just not intense enough). Plus the side characters haven't given a chance to shine. I love it when the side characters are given more life to liven up the story so yah.

I love both MC and ML tho, they have a... more>> certain charm that'll make you like them. Plus MC's family, either his adoptes or real one are lovely. They are so supportive and genuinely love MC. On ML side, he have parents with terrible parenting skills lmao his stepmother did a better a job than those two even tho they're not that close due to ML's resistance to his s*upid father. MC and ML both have cute and lovable brothers tho, I'm so glad it's not a type to story where brothers tries to kill each other lmao.

Anyway its a good read for casual reading. And I love that last extra featuring a somewhat parallel world where MC and ML met earlier. <<less

Who is the actual transmigrator? Is it really a dream-novel story? Was someone reborn? The author manages to keep the story a bit intriguing so far - MC was kidnapped as a child, his family is trying to figure out the chain of events and the 'suspense' revolves around the whos/whys of the antagonist.

MC's both the real and adopted families are very warm, and each interaction is very sweet, and they are respectful and thankful to each other.

MC is a good kid, and the ML, who while not being a... more>> bully, is usually cold to everyone but MC. Rest is the usual showbiz story with ML getting interested at first sight, helping MC out, working together again and again and again, chasing after MC, lots of Weibo comments (though not as inane in other novels) etc... <<less

The overall story wasn’t bad, there are things that I find weird, but there’s a decent ML, a not s*upidly dense MC, the romance and plot line are nice. It won’t be anything groundbreaking if you have ever read this genre before, but it’s a nice and simple read. It doesn’t focus on awards and praising the MC to heaven, so there’s that.

The MC personality changes halfway, from uninterested and lazy to sweet, smart, cute and everything nice. I’m guessing the author originally went for a uninterested and lazy MC,... more>> but halfway they (probably accidentally) started to write him more cute-ish and then his personality fell apart and changed. It’s the only major thing I have against this novel. At least the MC isn’t OP (i think). <<less

I'm not sure how to feel about it, ML and MC has an overall cute relationship without misunderstandings which I like, but I just think the family is not really mentioned much even after they found the MC when they're supposed to be cherishing each other, that they try very hard to find each other for 10+ years.

Other than Wen Zheng, the brother, the parents didn't show up much. I know they're all busy yada yada but I would hope they showed more interactions just for the families, but it... more>> feels like everything is about the ML and MC interactions even when the family is there. Maybe I just want more spoiling for MC from the family but I just didn't get any of it, so it irks me that everything needs ML to be there as well.

Overall, it's not a bad read, will recommend for a light read without too much drama <<less

The kidnapping case gave me anxiety throughout the story. I had so many theories (most correct.

Spoiler

So the crux of it all was Wen Yu transmigrated. He being the despicable person he was, plotted against the protagonist Wen Chi.

-he worked with traffickers to get rid of MC. Then kept targeting him as they grew

-he interfered with Sisi's adoption. I'm just glad she wasn't trafficked

-he used Cheng Xuan & crushed his personality & self esteem

Wen Yu was just written into a truly ugly character so I had no empathy for him.

[collapse]

Even though the plot was interesting, I think the writing missed the full potential of the story. The translation is also very mediocre.

The romance is secondary so reading after chapter 80 is unnecessary. <<less

I'm just sooo glad I chose to read it at the time where the translated chapters already reveal the family things between each other and the ML also finally know about it. Just not yet the public...

But I'm already relieved!

It's Slow Burn for the Romance, but not too slow nor frustrating about the family feels and reveal!

The Family things is Definitely THE BEST part of this novel! Both the Adopted and Biological Family is sooooo good and lovely! They respect each other and even close, at least between the mothers.... more>> (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)

Our MC is Lovable. Our ML also Likable.

The story flows is interesting because while many scenes wasn't suprising, but few did surprise me and makes me wonder.

Anyway it was pretty good novel!

I pray the translation would continue till complete! 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 <<less

Not too much drama. Again, an actor, kind a Film Emperor, with low EQ, gong ML. I mean, for the sake of the story only, we have an actor who isn't able to identify his own emotions. Why many authors do think that's logical or normal?

Anyway, the only high point for me is MC's family. Only when they appear I feel emotional fluctuations.

I haven't read the complete story yet but I felt the need to write a review because of some of the reviews already present. Liking a story or not depends on the person and everybody has their own preferences. It's perfectly fine to not like a story, but if you're a reader like me who came to check the reviews to consider whether to read this story or not, then you deserve to know more.

This story is good. It's for people who are tired of reading stories where everybody is... more>> bad and the antagonists do villainous things just for the sake of it. It's a sweet story with both depth and mystery. The transmigration in this story is one of the biggest mysteries in the novel.

The best thing about this novel is the relationships. It's so sweet and pure that it heals me.

The MC is introduced as a lazy and indifferent character at first and many people are irritated at how his "character collapses" later. However, it's important to note that MC is still lazy and indifferent to people he doesn't know. His actual personality had always been gentle, it's just that he had found a way to cope with everything that happened to him by acting like he didn't care at all. To his family, he's both gentle and cute. He's not a character that can be described with a few words, his characterization is deeper than that.

The translation is good but desperately needs proof reading. Overall it's a story worth reading, but if you like faceslapping, then it's not for you. So far, this novel had been about healing and making decisions, and that's probably why many people find it boring. <<less
