MC is a university student, so he got transported into another world, the one with magic and kingdom. He who has appearance so feminine, got mistaken as a woman and got saved by a royal gardener/magician

The fluffiness is strong on this series, MC is so adorable >.<. Not many of super invention from earth, just bento.

I am the new (?) translator of this novel, so I am going to be pretty biased.

I actually really enjoyed reading through the raws (using google translate of course), but I enjoyed it. This story is simple, cute, not too long but not too short, and just an overall fun, relaxing read.

Honestly, I am glad that there isn't too much detail (as that would be a lot more work for a MTL user like me). It gets to the point, it's somewhat fast paced, and it gets where it needs... more>> to be. Though I am a little sad the second half of the story seemed a little rushed.

My favorite part of the story is how some things contact, which you will see later on. It's kind of like foreshadowing, but still nicely done out.

Of course, I do love BL so I enjoyed this story even more. It has fluffy romance that I love, so it's alll good.

Overall, I hope I can deliver the story as the author wanted, and I hope people will enjoy this story as I did. Oh, there's a small sequel, which I plan to translate as well! <<less

Ahh I can't wait for the development of this one! The relationship between the MC and the gardener is so cute. Because the chapters are so short, he hasn't met the love interest thus far, but I'm looking forward to the moment as well as to how they treat each other in private. Will it be like the title, remaining indifferent to each other both in public and private? Ahh can't wait for them to fall for each other! Side note: I'm confused as to why people rated this a... more>> 1? The plot nor the MC isn't offending anyone, they're actually (both) quite likable. It's pretty early right now in the story but I'll go ahead and round my unofficial rating of 4.5 to a 5, to bump up the average. (4.5/5) <<less

I've read the raws till final, and here's my verdict.

In Aloof King and Cold (Acting) Queen, a young man was transported from modern Japan to a fantasy land. In the beginning, he merely lived peacefully with the people who found him. However, a twist of fate made him turn into a queen for neighboring country's king.

It was an adorable love story with myth-like nuances which will surely make you smile silly every now and then. However, the author wrote better in the first half of the story, more sloppy in... more>> the second half. The king was outwardly aloof, but the queen was not really cold. I can't help but feel that many more should and could have been told. It's like the ending comes rather too fast... or, probably it's just because I want to read more of the pair...

The score came down at 4.5 star for me --> rounded up to 5. <<less

Romance aside, I appreciate the goal of the ML to make the country better by stopping the war and focusing on agriculture instead. Moreover, the MC is also very willing to help eventhough he has to pretend to be a woman.

The ML and MC are definitely a match! Their feelings started from being friends and when they realized that they seem to fall deeper. They didn't think too much and just went with the flow. I just feel like their relationship is very comfortable.

When rating a novel, I really don't... more>> care about the technicalities. As long as the material is interesting, why rate it so low?! I enjoyed it and thus the 5 stars!!! :D <<less

The romance leaves much to be desired, which is pretty bad considering this novel has only romance going for it. The first 25 or so chapters were pretty good; decent setup and interesting supporting characters that genuinely made me curious as to where the rest of the story would go. Unfortunately, the remaining 20 chapters couldn't hold up to expectations. The romance was so rushed it didn't make sense- main characters literally go from playing games to being in love (with that level of emotional depth too) and there's just... more>> no sense of how/why they start to like each other at all.

Then the author tries to throw in some crappy dangerous "twist" that spans maybe 3 short chapters and yada yada. Honestly, it was just so rushed and forced I couldn't help but be disappointed. Especially after the first half of the story got my hopes up. <<less

2 stars for me. It's a shame cause the characters were interesting but they were not given enough time, or characterisation. The story felt rushed through, without proper development... it's a bit like reading the summary of a book than the book itself.

So far it feels like I am not reading a novel but a bunch summarised chapter thrown together. There’s a plot, yes, but it’s weakly executed. Pity that I kinda like this BL trope of aloof but prominent seme x cool-acting but adorable uke. I didn’t get to have my expectations fulfilled.

The story was rather boring. Almost nothing happens. The romance leaves much to be desired and most of it the relationship development happens in passing. The author spent too much time on the exposition and almost no time at all on the climax. The main leads are both boring while the only somewhat interesting characters are shoved into supporting roles.

The only good points: it's an extremely quick read if you just want something to read to tide you over until the next update to something more interesting.

The story was sweet and heartwarming. Recommendation if you want a quick and light read. There isn't much plot going on (besides being married and stuff) so if you want an in depth story... this isn't for you.

The summary I can say that it doesn't actually quite fit the story. The mood of the story is softer than what the summary implies and not that... intense?

All in all good if you want to read a quick love story but don't like much drama.

This is really good and refreshing story. I'm quite pleased to know that compared to other isekai, in his first years is that he's able to live peacefully under Alex's care. It also doesn't have any unnecessary drama that drags forever and things get resolves easily in normal pace.

It's a very light story that's good to read to pass time and not up to heavy investing into the plot.

So let’s go with it’s good points first.

  • It’s a quick read really. Although the imposing 40+ chapters is there, you can still finish it in one day
  • There are other pov involved so you get the inside story of various other people
  • It is really simple. You just can’t get lost in it.
Now for it’s not so good points.

  • All the characters have the minimal amount of development.
Spoiler

The MC has the few description of a male who looks effeminate (girly). And it’s said he is bold or at least not weak, but it is barely shown at all. Even his background as an agricultural student doesn’t really have a place. There’s only 3 times it is used, but it’s only in a couple sentences : royal garden, agricultural development in Casper, and the Wisteria. The ML is also poorly described. He is known to be aloof but the author makes him seem that it is only a forced title. I can’t seem to see any traits of his or his actions are forced because of the situation. His traits are just a little bit above the other characters, and nearly as good as the MC. It would be more acceptable if the side characters were low in development, but the MC and ML are also less developed. Maybe it’s just me, and they in fact are developed and I’m just blind to this.

[collapse]

  • Do not be fooled by the synopsis; it’s actually a whole lot more bland
Spoiler

From the description of the novel, you would expect the MC to be lively or at least be a bit more. But no. In fact, the MC is dull. Well, dull is a bit harsh. He’s just a little bland. His reactions and how he says things are too polite. Polite is nice, but he doesn’t get informal very much. Maybe it’s because of his upbringing, but that doesn’t get brought up much either. In fact, none of the characters ever truly break away from speaking formally. Occasionally there would be a character that will be casual (the emperor the most) but none of them are really informal. It’s needed because the main characters are high people or people who need to speak formally, but I thought, at least when the couples are alone, will they speak a bit more informally; but no. And there’s also the title. The MC is supposed to be cold, and maybe that will explain his formality, but honesty, if we look at it. He’s not acting. He has always been formal. If being cold means not smiling, then he’s doing a great job. But other than that, he is not cold. He even treats the concubines neutrally even though they bullied him. Honestly felt a little fooled.

[collapse]

  • There’s some loose knots in here that barely gets explained
Spoiler

There are some parts of the story where you just want more details. For example, any more detail on Urie’s thought of the MC? I mean, don’t lie, if you read until the end, you sort of shipped Urie x MC too. Even the citizens. Another thing, the citizens thoughts aren’t put into effect. There’s a small snipet that explain what the citizens thinks, but afterwards no more? And we also don’t know what happened after the assassination attempt. I want to know the after results. Not your after s**! And does MC ever get more info on the first prime minister from Squire Butler boy? MC gets all of his information directly from the ML at the end, but that’s not really climatic. And what about getting back to his old world. No missing? He doesn’t have any emotions about it. Maybe he accepted it, but honestly, there’s not a lot of description on that.

[collapse]

  • There’s barely any “issue” the main pair needs to face (maybe that’s a good point, but for me it’s not; explained in spoiler)
Spoiler

In the entire story, the moment there is a problem to cross, the problem is as small as a rock. That’s how easy the MC bypasses it. When he needs to get engaged. No need for a couple days to decide. No need to contemplate whether I can even do it. No need to consider marrying a dude and leaving my now home! It’s like, “I’m willing to sacrifice myself for the greater good. Like right now”. And the thing is, this part doesn’t make him seem weak or make us sympathize, it just there to make him seem strong. What it makes me feel is frustrated. I mean, who doesn’t think for a couple days on a decision they will probably never escape from. Next one, the concubine’s bullying. There is only one instance of bullying and that is the bugs. No more. Then the tea party comes, and there is no face slapping. The bullying stops right afterwards. And then they are all friendly. Next: the visit of the rumored lover. So this is a couple tit for tat thing. ML gets jealous, MC feels lonely, yadda yadda. Dance comes, and there’s affection in the air for a brief moment. Urie comes, ML gets jealous. And then at night, feelings are shown and now they are officially a couple. Eh. Could be worse, could be better... Next one! The assassination. So the MC becomes the hero[ine] that saves the country from possibly another war, and the ML about to go ballistic. But you know what, it comes out fine. (this is like the only issue I didn’t mind turned out find, except I wanted to know what happened to the other country) During the MC recovery, the truth about his hair and eyes are discovered. There is no setbacks. No nothing. Just acceptance, and some recovery from our MC.

[collapse]

Honestly, the story has so much potential. With a little bit here and there, it could be nice. But honestly it just felt like the author wanted this to happen, but felt that it was too much, and cut back too much as well. So the story just kinda ended out like this. The one thing I felt was awesome was the knowledge of flowers and how it played in the story, but it ended up not really being out there and only in certain instances. I would like to actually rate it as a 3, but that 4 is because it has potential. You can’t say it’s a bad story, because it closes just fine, but it’s not that great of a story either.

Thank you. *small bow* <<less

Its sorta in the middle kindof good.

Imean, its got so much potential at the start.

Spoiler

The author couldve worked on how he can express his knowledge that mightve help the country he initially appeared on, his relationships among the people, he couldve worked on their potential misunderstanding and slowly develop their romance, he couldve worked on the potential love rivals, potential political twist ang how he couldve shown more knowledge. Worked on that potential accident at the end. And so on.

I think this is a cute story overall, but there's some parts lacking in the story and character development. I would've liked to see their characters growth instead of time skip (maybe?) but it is a short story. There isn't much of a conflict here as it only lasts about four to five chapters (?) (don't really remember). There's many cute interactions between the MC and the ML, that will give you sweets. It's not heavy fluff as well so keep in mind that you will not be getting... more>> any diabetes from this. Last thing is that if you're looking for some good *cough* *cough* drugs... You might find this one disappointing as the scene is very short and leaves us rotten people congested and wanting a wee bit more than what was offered to us.

But if you have time and is looking for a very quick read with not much drama, this is the read for you~! <<less

Gosh, I really enjoyed this novel. From the first chapter I read to this one, I almost have nothing bad to say about this novel. The MC and ML's love is pretty cute, even if it's a bit fast paced.

This is one of those light-hearted yaoi novels that don't really focus on drama, or that's at least how I have perceived this novel so far.

It's actually kind of refreshing to read a pretty light hearted novel, since I usually read novels/books with revenge themes in them. All in all, I... more>> recommend this novel! <<less

It was actually going well for me, despite the short chapter. That was until the marriage alliance was brought up. Like wtf. Are you the f*cking holy father? And why the male lead has to be from the other country?

I would rather ship Haruto with Urie or Alex. And what's with their obsession with feminine man? Why don't they just find a woman, instead of looking for a man who looks like a woman.

And from what I have seen in the other reviews, in the end the MC and ML... more>> will have true love. Then what's with the 3 princess concubines? And why did the MC accept that easily? From what I see, the world he comes from should have practiced monogamy, not polygamy.

I don't know what will happen to those concubines but for me, cheating is a no no if you two already regard each other as lovers.

Dropping this because I don't think I could go on and read it without any criticism flashing through my head. <<less

I have to quit the moment the ML appears.

I was here to read fluff, sorry but I can't accept ML having 3 concubines and still looking for empress.

Actually I was bored even earlier around 6 chapter I wanted to quit. But looking at the rating and people saying it's good, I persisted till chapter 14 but I really can't take it anymore.

I was confused as to why this book was lying in my list of completed books since I have no memory of having read this, so I re-read it.

Wasn't bad, but I personally think it isn't really good. The characters seem boring and the plot could have been better. It's not bad, but I don't think it deserves a 4 star.

It could have been better, but the romance was rushed, and I didn't really felt that the romance was good.

Well, read it if you want to. Sorry for the bad... more>> English and have a nice day. <<less
