I have nothing to say except it was the most amazing novel I have read. Its themes and what the authors wanted to portray were perfectly conveyed to the readers.

So many characters that the readers can connect to, especially the MC. All the characters had amazing developments and character arcs.

The world-building is long, yes, but once it's all done, the plot really gets going. Like really.

Though the novel is lengthy, everything made sense as to why it was added. There were so many twists and turns that it may take... more>> another read to understand fully what was going on. That is exactly why it's amazing.

What can I say about this novel... there’s too much. It’s a bit cliched and lengthy and perhaps the biggest thing is that it’s really, really confusing. But, that’s what makes this novel amazing. The story planning behind, the way the joke play and the way that the story being executed are all perfect.

The beginning of the story giving a light heart feeling mix with little angst. I can handle that level because from time to time, there will be light heart moment and small joke to make you giggle along a very serious and fast pacing story.

But near the end, it's like roller coaster. My heart beat so fast while reading it. It's like the author give me hope and tear it apart...... more>> then redo it over and over... I feel very scare of the ending in epilogue while keep going.... But I made it to the end. There is a hope but also can feel something tearing my heart at the same time.

I know I must re-read it to see it in another viewpoint but I cannot bring myself to start yet because the emotional near the end is too intense. My heart is not prepare for second attack.

This story is popular for a reason. It is a long journey, and a little tiring because of that in some spots, but worthwhile. I really applaud the author for such careful plot building.

This novel is an epic!! When I say epic it's literally epic. It's still trending Top 1 for some reasons even after completion for few years, right?! I would love to see if there any animation made based on this novel. I'm already reading the manhwa. I was in love with it thorough out the whole reading! My curiosity about "what comes after " kept me immersed in story. All the suspense was killing me to find them out. I felt countless emotions, something thrilled, sometimes sadnesses, sometimes laughter, sometimes felt goosebumps. I came to like some characters that I didn't like at 1st. And at the end came to like everything in the novel. There were some characters when they entre at certain times I kept cheering on them, they were so coolly depicted.✨_✨

But one thing, I'm not a fan of open ending. There were countless ending I could think up. So what if this or what if that's the ending. I don't like these jumbling thoughts of mine. Guess this is my problem only. But still I would've been loved it, if the ending was written and I hadn't had to imagine it. (T^T)

In all honesty I really loved this story, so much so that I cloud become second Kim Dokja who loves a certain story.

Okay first of all, this is easily one of best novel I have read and I really cannot put into words how much I love this novel T^T Okay let me break down my thoughts about this novel...

Okay let's start with the bad. While I absolutely love this novel and will easily give it a 5/5 rating, there were some parts that left me...

1. One thing that is for sure, this novel will definitely NOT appeal to readers who detest complex plots. To be fair, personally I found certain parts unnecessary overly complexed when they are just being introduced. Thankfully, they aren't that hard to grasp as you continue to read on and digest. Then again, understandably many people may be put off by it
2. I feel like you can only truly enjoy the whole novel if you read until the very end. I saw alot of reviews giving it one star and they dropped it before even reaching chapter 100. Tbh as I read it, I felt that up to chapter 100 was merely the 'prologue' setting the premise for the story. Hence, it's no surprise people some ppl dropped it considering ppl would usually only read around 30~50 chapters as a 'taster'
3. While I will give credit that I really liked the character design of pretty much everyone in the novel (including both incarnations, constellations etc), especially those in KDJ com, I do feel that some of them (esp kdj com) weren't really explored well during the scenarios. I believe it made sense for KDJ to be the main focus for the story (also given the real premise ahem ahem) but I do think some of the characters were kinda 'forsaken'? Some parts even made me feel like they were there just to increase the headcount of number of people kdj needs to look out for

Okay now you may be thinking... more>> if I have so many things to complain about, why give it 5/5 hahaha

1. I truly cannot emphasise how impressed I am by the writing. If you read til the very end, you can tell this novel is planned from the start and author actually know what's up, instead of just "leave this empty for now and cover up later with some nonsense". Tbh, around chapter 300+ I was getting abit :// with the introduction of so many things and the increasing number of plot holes. After finishing the novel, I was so surprised by how put together the novel is? One thing I really must praise is the epilogue for sure. Many novels I read, epilogues seems to feel more like the author milking the story or like it's extra fluff or something. This was NOT the case for ORV. The epilogue gave so much insight to how the other characters actually when not filtered through KDJ's subjective viewpoint. This is especially the case for yjh and hsy. Their paradox was explained so well I literally felt like I gained enlightenment or something lol. But yes, the plot was absolutely phenomenal and I don't think I'll ever forget it???
2. Let me just establish that Kim Dokja is easily one of my favourite MC of all time. His role as an unreliable narrator was really what drew me into the novel. Initially, he comes off as acting c*cky for knowing what's going to happen next, but as you read on and realise he really is just bluffing and trying to detach himself from the story, you cant help but start second guessing if what he is narrating is even true. This is especially crucial to how YJH perceives him, him being actually an absolute crybaby, etc.
3. One of my favourite element of the novel is definitely "Fourth Wall". It really is an authentic skill and throughout the novel, I couldnt stop trying to guess its identity and purpose? Upon its introduction, it didnt feel like much, perhaps just an overpowered skill? But as you read on, it rlly gives so much context to how KDJ acts around other people eg. Why initially it felt more like kdj was quite 'detached' and more like bossing the other characters around.

Anyways. I dont think there's a point in me writing more hahahaha if you're planning to read it, I really do hope you'll read it til the end <<less

Anyone who has reviewed this novel as bad clearly didn't even get past the 100th chap which is actually ironic since one of the themes of the book is about people who judge a book as bad before even finishing the book or even getting far enough in a book to judge it. ORV is a book you have to finish to understand how genius it is.

this novel is meant to be read in a loop. It's a never ending loop which is why it's important to read till the end because the beginning makes sense only if you've read the entire end till the last sentence and start again.

This is not a ''sterotypical gameworld / dungeon crawler / hunter esque'' world, anyone who thinks that is what the setting is in ORV didn't even read far enough to judge the book, because that is only the literal facade the author put up for you to think is the case till you understand the true nature of the world.

1. Story ★★★★★ - Well closed story, with good plots and back in time that is confusing at first, but is very simple to understand. About the "system" of the work itself, which I found FANTASTIC! It's been a while since you've been amazed at such a rounded and complex system without being overdone.
2. Character ★★★★★ - Fantastic, all his personalities well built at first like the Original MC, and even he changes little by little along with the other characters in the story, even the Gods have their developments, which is fantastic if compare to other works that include mythological beings with a fixed personality (never changes).
3. Enjoyment ★★★★★ - When you will have time to read, I was hooked and rushed the work, still well balanced comedy, plot things, a pleasant time reading.
4. General ★★★★★ - Don't waste time and start reading, it's a great work with good characters, it has its "Deus Ex-Machina" because the MC knows about everything, but at the same time, everything can change is same? KEKW.

Interesting concept and it's easy to read. The world-building covers myths and legends of cultures around the world and the story is fresh even though it pretty much makes a parody of generic tropes like swordmasters and 9th circle magicians. The main character starts off as a selfish coward but gradually grows and becomes someone worth rooting for.

There are some obvious plot holes and the translation has frequent errors like using the wrong name or mixing up words like "did" and "didn't" but they're all easy to catch and roll... more>> with.

Halfway through, a new translator tries to change everything and it's brutal to read but an editor takes over and it's more or less fine after that.

One of my favourite novels ever! Every second I spent reading this was well worth it.

Kim Dokja is just a 10/10 character even if he himself does not think so lol. I love the relationship between the characters and how they interact especially the holy trio that is Kim Dokja, Yoo Joonghyuk and Han Sooyoung.

I would've loved more chapters with Oldest Dream but oh well. Thankfully, authors on Twitter provide me OD food everyday haha.

I would say that even if first-person POV is not your cup of tea, still do... more>> give it a try! I got weirded out at first because I was so used to third-person POVs but I got used to it and it was actually quite enjoyable.

This novel was one of the biggest rollercoasters I've ridden. I felt like I was constantly going up and down and round and around. All my questions were answered in satisfying, if not heart wrenching, ways.

For people who put importance in the plot, this is an ideal novel for you. It was incredibly complex, but explained admirably.

Don't believe those people who commented in here without finishing the novel because it's actually great (one of the best paradox stories for me). It's one of those stories that when you reread it, it changes how you look at the story.

The art is also great (as you can see on the cover) and for your information, there's an ongoing manhwa for this!!

Overall, I love this story and is definitely worth the while (should be wait but since it's finished now so it doesn't count). Have fun reading!!

There's a big reason why I love this story. And unlike most other stories on here, this story is complete. This story was written with a beginning to end in mind from the start. And if you do reach the [Epilogue] you'll understand how most things in this fable happen the way they are.

It's a good novel so far. The main characters and supporting characters are all good and have their own unique quirks.

At some points, the MC seems to be too OP and the plot is kinda cliche as other isekai-genre but as the story goes on, things get bigger and more interesting.

This novel is riveting. I must say the author/s has a lot of imagination for writing this novel.

I really liked it but if I may say my one concern is the novel is written in a first person POV. And to be honest, I wouldn't be able to completely read the novel without seeing the webtoon first.

In the webtoon, I saw some comments that there is perhaps BL in it but reading the novel, I can tell you there is none. It's all absolutely platonic. So don't expect romance here.

Regardless... more>> of that, the journey of the characters are really fastidious. I am just glad that there is an end of their hard word, their pain, their long ass scenario after scenario....

Wouldn't call this a masterpiece but it is good. It goes quite repetitive the more you read but still enjoyable. I really like reading from the POV of a guy who doesn't really cares of moral (I guess he does care but.. Yk not like most MCs) makes you feel nice ironically.

There is so much to say about ORV.

Firstly, let’s get the core strength of ORV out of the way:

The characters and their intrapersonal relationships. Found family is a trope found often in novels such as these, but ORV gets the job done just right. The characters all have multifaceted layers to them, so the relationships they develop across the journey are all that much more real. A big gripe of mine is how often characters in other novels are thrown to the side to make way for a character or... more>> three that continue to develop while the others stagnate. ORV for the most part avoids this, giving everyone a chance. Found family is hard to feel for if all the characters don’t have much importance, but with the companions Dokja makes along the way, the feelings are conveyed nicely.

The main trio is also one of the best I’ve seen in fiction. None are tossed aside, they all live and love for each other. It is a relationship so intimate, the relationship of true life and death companions, of a writer, a reader, and the creation. Their story unfolds in unconventional ways, and perhaps initially they did not feel they would be so important to each other, but life works in mysterious ways.

Dokja is a peculiar MC, with a narrative direction that might even be seen as unreliable at times. That said, he is an MC with a good head on his shoulders, and he for the most part is never overbearing or annoying. All the battles he fights with companions have satisfying payoff, and plot armor, while existent, never feels too out of place.

Another one of my favorite things about ORV is the writing of the main cast, especially the women. A lot of novels and media in general often write women in a way that is... lacking to say the least. Although not perfect, the writing in ORV makes the women shine as much as the others and it isn’t executed poorly. My favorite character in the novel is actually allowed to be imperfect, allowed to be what she is and what she stands for without many setbacks. That is a novelty in the novel sphere for now, so it was still worth mentioning.

My gripes with ORV are pretty much nitpicks; Sometimes some things do feel like copouts. But I allow it, for ultimately, this is the story Dokja, the MC wanted. Also, the relationship between the reader and the novel will probably hit very strongly for those like me, who read and read for some reason or another.

All in all; ORV is not perfect. It isn’t meant to be, nothing is. However, it does have countless strengths in it’s core cast that I consider it a must read for fans of strong relationships in fiction. I think those who enjoy such things are in for a narrative worth the time and effort. <<less
