I’ve reincarnated as the reverse harem game’s villainess, the one and only adopted daughter of the ducal Eckart family.

But the difficulty just has to be the worst!

Everything I do will only lead me to death.

I must be paired with one of the main male characters from the heroine’s harem before the ‘real daughter’ of the duke family appears!

Two older brothers who always pick a fight with me on every little thing.

The insane crown prince whose route will always lead to my death.

‘I only see the heroine and no one else’s wizard, and also her loyal s*ave knight, too!

‘First, let’s take some of them which I see no hope in, out of the list!’

“I didn’t know my place up until now. From now on, I’ll live as quiet as a mouse so you wouldn’t care the slightest bit!

But why do their interests in me keep on rising every time I draw the line?!

All the corny plots.
The villainess is not the real villain.
Spoiler

OG FL is the bad guy.

[collapse]
All the guys fall in love with the MC. And no matter how toxic their previous behavior was, they are forgiven if they fall in love with the MC.
The author tried to make this story more tense and twisted and did, like the great British chefs who strive to make potato chips taste good. I will praise their efforts and order a pizza for my lunch.

So many twists and turns... overall it was good but the translation was a bit hard to read... who does that to their family though... even as a way to get her attention, the FL's original family went too far, almost to the point of brainlessness.

I also felt that the colour of the favourability bar was not explained well. That was one of the points they should've made clearer.

The translations are a bit rocky. Going from excellent to just MTL's without much editing and then something better than MTL. It wasn't really consistent. But I'm still thankful for the team in finishing the series.

From beginning to end, the FL didn't grow on me. Both her former life in the modern world and her current host in the game world had very similar circumstances and abuse. Yet, the FL didn't show much growth in understanding her life and choices.

She whines about how everyone mistreats her, and yet never really... more>> stood up for herself. Of course, it's easier for an outsider to see the situation than herself. She's obsessed with dealing with all the characters like the game options with no real emotions or empathy with anyone. And yet she blames everyone else for the problems and treats everyone like crap.

I'm sympathetic that both the FL and the original FL had a tragic past, but yet, both characters or souls also had the opportunity to change the situation. Instead they stayed silent and swallowed the grief and would rather starve themselves. I'm also not quite understanding the bi-polar behavior of her real life family and the game family members. Their abuse is ignored because they don't have a mother or have a missing family member. In the game world, they abused the FL, yet she had enough freedom to do become a tyrannical and spoiled brat everywhere in society.

The Jekyll & Hyde characteristics whether they were brainwashed or not was too unrealistic and confusing.

While the the original plot was interesting, I just couldn't bring myself to like the FL who only knew how to use others but not better herself. If it was me, I would have learned defense, magic skills, and etc, rather than trying to accrue interest/favored points from the various characters to "win" or stay alive in the game. So rather than depending on herself, she would rather latch onto characters that can keep her alive supposedly. <<less

There seems to be a lot of controversial opinions on this one. But tbh I absolutely love this novel from the start to the end.

I love the MC and ML. They are badass, loveable and adorable. Some may not like them but the way they act is brought upon by their unfortunate childhood.

I see a lot of people in the comments so hell bent on blaming MC for not forgiving and not treating Eclise well and saying that he's a kid but they seems to have forgotten MC is not... more>> much older as well.

And she actually from childhood grew up in an abusive household and she was desperate to live as Penelope. None of any people whom I knew had abusive childhood grew up well, so how do you expect Penelope to be a Saint? People seem to forget that normal humans forget their conscience in desperation and tbh Penelope wasn't that bad. I do feel for Eclise, he's innocent afterall but Penelope is innocent as well! And she was thrown into this world where she can't be sure when, which minute and whom might end up killing her. Honestly if it were me I'd have gone crazy!

And other ML's, I can understand where they come from, they were also influenced by the curse before Yvonne appeared and her brainwashing after she appeared. But we as third party can easily justify them but as the one who suffered their abuse and as the one who even ended up dying because of them in the previous timeline, Penelope has every right to hate them! and people are shamelessly saying she should have forgiven the redeemed characters.

Yeah Penelope understood where they came from but understanding and accepting are two different things and she can very well choose not to.

Kallisto's backstory was not told in detail but we can get how he became violent and we can also imagine everything he could have gone through. That's why I was able to put behind him holding his sword across Penelope's neck. He was also the only level headed ML around Penelope and the only one to completely trust her.

Eclise well... He's the only ML I feel sorry for
Spoiler

Him forgetting everything at the end seems like a good ending for him but it was also bittersweet. I would have preferred for him to have a happy ending with someone else but his ending was left open (but I felt like he was destined to end up alone but it was the same for other MLs other than Kallisto and no one knows the future so..) so who knows.

[collapse]

Yeah Eclise is pitiful and Penelope wasn't exactly a good character for leading him on but she was helpless and only wanted to live. Why is that so bad? She was preoccupied with her goal to survive, so what if she did not pay attention to Eclise? And so what if she would have said I like you to Eclise to reach 100%? She in the end did not do that! Besides when you keep thinking you are in a game world and everyone around you are simply game characters, you tend to ignore certain things. Penelope had her limits unlike what others thought so I honestly think she is very likeable. If it were me I would have given up on my life when I'm thrown into such a world. I would have been scared to even come out of my room but Penelope was tenacious and courageous. I honestly admire her. I admire that she wasn't soft hearted to the end Cuz I would have succumbed to it.

Anyway, that's my opinion.

P. S. The MTL was indeed hard to read. <<less

I almost give up reading it till the end because I just can't relate or like the FL (to most of her worries, attitude, decisions, actions and even her thinking. I find she's trying too hard when she doesn't really need to) but I didn't because I was curious of the ending and mostly because of MLs (her bros not included).

Overall, the story is fine. Not my favorite tho nor something I'd like to read again.

Love the story so far, although it is a bit hard to follow along because of the translation.

I gotta say though, I ain't a fan of ANY of the ML's. The brothers are kinda meh. Vinter, is an enigma. The crown prince, is arrogant & pushy. Let's be honest, being a queen is just not worth it. Eclise is like a tiger cub, waiting to turn around and bite the neck of its owner. I don't trust any of them.

Pretty decent story but at some point in time the translation becomes so bad that it becomes unreadable, it's worse than some MTL stuff I've read. I would recommend reading the manua (though it isn't that far in yet) or wait and see if another translator will take up the last 200 chapters.

Even though I read it to the end I had a hard time getting invested in the story because the translation was bad, but I wanted to see the end anyway. The manhwa is way better in making me feel the emotions in the story, but it's still unfortunately on chapter 50 something in english. I'm glad for Penelope, but my pity for the other characters was a lot so it was hard to be completely happy with the story. If you want to see regret like severe regret from... more>> other characters and clinginess then this is a good story for you, if you can bear the translation. <<less

So I gave it a four. Ummm I actually read the manhwa too from Tapas and I quite enjoy the art etc everything is splendid so I wanted to try the novel. Novel was awesome at first, I liked her reaction how she was intelligent and didn't trust anyone but at some point it became a bit tiresome. I understand that she is full of hatred and also wanna revenge Penelope but all the characters apologized her over thousand times lol at some point I am like pls enough already... more>> I know you hated them but they are regretting everything you know like duke for example begged her thousand times but at the end she still said to him that she resents him and also that wizard guy Vinter (?) too ??? The way she treated Eclise was the worst ever no wonder those thing happened Callisto was again the cutest of them but he started to become too overprotective which was kinda off putting. The supernatural things were meh. The way she always rejected Callisto was irritating too. I know she is a strong independent woman but at some point she just becomes annoying there is limit to it (for m) for example at the beginning I loved her she was fierce and everything but at the end not that much. But there was great twist which I liked. I mean I overall enjoyed it since I am obsessed with transmigration/reincarnation novels. Would recommend but definitely had issues <<less

A really great novel, the concept of being on a video game doesn't go away which is great as it stays true to what it is, you will get more happy, angry and sad the more you go, well I know I did XD. I hope the links for the other translator get fixed because I want to continue reading it T.T

Tbh the beginning was pretty interesting, but it gets increasingly cliche...

That said, I have a brain. Penelope's character honestly doesn't make sense; even if her status is low, how can she simultaneously be someone who can arrogantly do flippant stuff but lets herself be bullied by the servants? It's not even just servants' contempt & neglect; they physically abuse her. Regardless of how high her pride/self-esteem is, how could she let such physical abuse happen daily? She's a character who loves to show her status, and yet she's too dumb... more>> to use it when it's important?

Edit: But also it's still pretty entertaining hahahaha I have a maiden's heart it can't be helped. However my fav is Eclise and from some spoilers it doesn't seem like I will be happy...... :' (

Edit 2: Okay it's not overdramatic than cliche. It's very dramatic and angsty but it almost feels unnecessary, like I get the MC is frightened and I like that she doesn't just fall for people once they start being nice to her but at the same time she overcomplicates things and quite frankly she's cruel. She has literally no compassion and kindness, she's drowning in self-pity and won't let herself move away from it, suffocating herself and everyone around her. <<less

I, an avid reader of BL novels on this website, suddenly came across this book on TikTok. It was an edit someone made about the manhua version of this book, I had seen this story pop up many times in the past but I hate harem stories with multiple ML's so I never read it......

Suddenly, I got curious.... within 2 days, I read all of the manhua chapters. Then I came here to read the novel and realized the official translation is actually on TAPAS. Even though the translation on... more>> this website is also good, I found myself actually paying MONEY to unlock the remainder of the TAPAS novel chapters.

Then for three days, I read this book and finally finished all the extras and special chapters today... AMAZING NOVEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please read it if u can!

*Spoiler below so stop reading here*

Can I just say, I love how each quest was interwoven together? And when I found out that Calisto was actually the ML.... ughhh I hated it so much at first bc I feel like its always the ML in a crown prince status that ends up being the final ML.... but...... as I kept reading.... and I saw how much Calisto truly loves Penolope.... I was floored!!!!! All my dissatisfaction just disappeared!! Don't get me wrong, I think hes NUTS but so is Penolope, they make the perfect pair!

And omg the special chapters at the end.... it was soo cruel (Penelope not forgiving her real family in the real world) but I feel it was also refreshing? Part of me wanted her to forgive them but it was so nice to see a strong FL who knows what she wants and pursues it to the max. The fact that she built a family for herself, had a baby with Calisto and is the Empress, she knows that her biological family in the real world cannot even compare in the slightest to the world and happiness she found in the game! I respect her decisiveness.

I'll admit... when I was first reading it though.... I really had hoped for a better outcome for Derrick... I feel he made MANY MANY MANYYYYY horrible mistakes, but his trauma of losing his sister and carrying that guilt truly did hurt him. I am glad at the end, Penelope said that he smiles at her daughter, that is his niece.

I am glad Reynolds still has a brotherly type of relationship with Penelope and that her father, the Duke, truly did care for her and she was able to accept that and allow him in her daughter's life.

The ending of Winter becoming her daughter's magic teacher was also nice. Eckles having amnesia and disappearing was surprising, I still don't know if during that final scene with Penelope in the forest, did he leave her only because he knew Calisto was there or did he truly lose his memories and left her to potentially die???? Whatver the cause, he isn't mentioned at all after that part and Calisto is there to protect Penelope and their daughter. I will admit though, she treated Eckles poorly at the beginning but if you think of it from her perspective, she did EVERYTHING she could to help him, not that it excuses her using him, but she still tried to fulfill each of his request despite him being of "s*ave" status. And yet, he literally betrayed her and became to obsessive to the point of not even caring if he hurt her! He gave me literal chills at times, Im kind of glad he got amnesia and stayed away from her after.

Finally, CALISTO, I cannot stretch enough how much this man doted upon and loved Penelope, so much to the point of wanting to give up the throne for her. He is truly a tsundere lol I loved his interactions with Penelope and how they bicker and annoyed each other but still loved each other. Honestly when she first decided to stay in the game world and abandon her real life body, I was shocked... But I understand it is because Calisto was on the verge of death after they just battled Ivonne and the rebels and Penelope could not bear to leave Calisto behind.

Overall, amazing novel! <<less

Good story, good paced, right now feels like mtl but you can still understand... MC is a independent strong woman, but the middle to the end the author either put her as annoyingly independent (in the sense that she becomes dense about people around her) or like a victim to the extreme (which I do think it’s fair because of trauma and all that, but it gets incredibly repetitive to the point that I started to enjoy more the MLs than the MC). All in all it was a good... more>> story, don’t regret reading but probably won’t be revisiting again. <<less

Whoever is going to give this a try, get a good tissue box, and some good music and you are good to go. Our MC is no damsel in distress, and ML is just the best.

She goes through so much but at the end she makes it through. The ML never leaves her side.

And at the end it's sweetness overload. This is so worth it.

It is heart breaking, very at that. But it is also a very beautiful and a lovely work.

This is worth reading till the end. FL was transported into a game world and it seems like a very typical story line but overall structure of the story is good, each MLs has their story arc with FL and intertwine with the main story well. This is a complete and well structured story.

The story between FL and Crown Prince is very entertaining. The Crown Prince is one endearing obsessive ML.

The only downside was the translations towards the ending of the story and side stories wasn't done well.

The Manhwa artwork... more>> is good. Worth the read if you like the novel. <<less

Love it so far but it looks like there are a lot of parts missing in the translation. I would continue reading if it didn't seem that important but there are huge time gaps and missing scenes between the FL and the brothers : (very sad because I can't find it anywhere else.

What really drove me to binge read this from the start the sense of injustice at the cruel treatment of our MC, Penelope Eckhart. Literally everyone around her were such a-holes I couldn't wait to see them suffer and regret (and somehow MC's real life was even worse?! T^T). She is really good at giving them the what-for when the time is right, no holds barred! ˋ皿ˊ

There is a sortof transition in the story, from focusing on the ML relationships and favouritism bars to becoming all magical/fantasy action once the... more>> ' female protagonist' comes into play. The hidden plot element of this is great, but it was harder to follow this kinda plot given the translation and/or writing. I believe the translation is MTL w/ editing (the quality fluctuates but I'm grateful for the effort ^ ^), and it was particularly confusing to distinguish between the MC's thoughts, the MC's dialogue, and others' dialogue.

Eclise was lowkey my fave ML...I like my sad puppy types (~ФwФ) ~

Spoiler

so kinda sad 'bout his end, but Callisto really grew on me, he's pretty good husband material (♥ω♥)

At the beginning, I loved this novel, it was so unique, and it moved my heart strings so much (specially in the chapters about her family), I cried many times... but...

Spoiler

Once the game "ends", it starts getting predictable and boring, there are some loose storylines that never get resolved (for ex, the reincarnation of the antagonist, what happened to Rennald and Derrick, What happened with Delman ppl?, Etc), our MF starts acting up for no reason (those men are brainwashed, dear, you know that)... and, above it all, Penelope ends up with the most basic ML of them all... I found it both interesting and annoying at the beginning.

Spoiler

annoying because the settings for the characters (all the characters) were too cold and abusive of the original owner without acceptable or logical reasons (to the point I wished if they all just get stabbed to death) but then the behavior of the characters suddenly changed 180 degree change from being too cold and abusive to being tsundere, overly respectful or overly caring.

This illogical and sudden change almost ruined the whole novel for me.

liking and disliking are personal preferences but I think this one is more suitable for female readers or other readers who are fine with those settings, for me it's just annoying right now so I'll be dropping it.
