Boring. It did helped me catch up on sleep after I binge read Hidden-marriage for a week. So It's a good book to read before bedtime when you need to wake up early the next day. It will grab you attention with just the right amount to prevent seeking a more exciting read and at the same time, the lack of tension will put you to sleep real quick.

All I can say is it's really so damn hilarious and adorable that I can't help but read over and over again the characters are quite endearing especially the MC. She's definitely stubborn, headstrong and oh, so undeniably cute.

This story is all FLUFF! 100% recommended!

After reading so many novels with plot twist here and there, I keep dreading something major will happen with PeiYing (FL) and cannot enjoy the story completely. So, for those who have the same thought as mine, have no fear! It's all fluff and happiness~! Enjoy the story to the max! XD

This novel was awesome! It was worthy of my time to read such a well written story.

At first I didn't really like the main guy cause I thought he was just after the female lead just to get down and do the dirty but this thought was proven wrong as I continue to read. The main couple make such a great pair!!

And I love how the novel was realistic on the fact that we could relate to both of their feelings. (however the romance not realistic cause it... more>> would never happen in real life....) <<less

Everything happened so fast between MC and ML that I don't feel the deep love between them.

Some traits of ML: ... more>>
Spoiler

1.) He has a fetish for long legs.

2.) He already says "I love you" after meeting a few times.

3.) He is very lustful. - I only finished 21 chapters, but the amount of times they kissed and had s3x was already mentioned a LOT.

[collapse]

Plot device I didn't like:
Spoiler

MC is a good actress with great assets as repeatedly mentioned in the story. The only achievements she got without any help from ML were being viral for a short time due to a 2-episode role and then getting a shoes advertis**ent and magazine feature. She hasn't made it big yet in her career, but after this she already started basking in ML's glory.

There's also a rich guy who attempts to steal MC when it's been announced that she already has a boyfriend.

It's a very generic story, there was only one conflict between MC and ML, there's nothing to regret about reading it, is not great, but if there's nothing else to read it will do. HE, no abuse, no angst, no dog blood, no face slapping, no explicit meat.

I love this! I'm super into slice of life stories with no melodrama. Like the lighter Gu Man stuff and Husband, Be a Gentleman, and To Be a Virtuous Wife. These are my favorite. Just Blame Me for Being Blind is also a really nice and simple feel-good story about a romance between two respectable, likable high profile people. Pei Ying is so cute. I loved reading about her and her cats. My favorite scenes are probably when Pei Ying is by herself in her own world, happy, doing what... more>> she likes. Of course, CEO Song is sexy and lots of fun, but I find that reading examples of FL being happy and independent is super cool and inspirational too, hehe.

Ever since Gu Man's Wei Wei, I never got over the internet slice of life stuff. I've read Really Really Miss You and Honey Stewed Squid, and I can't get enough of it. I really felt for Pei Ying whenever she was on WeChat and though I am certainly far from having a big internet presence between my facebook and tumblr accounts, you can feel the excitement over the increase in followers and reading the netizen peanut galleries... in any case, isn't the Chinese net like the biggest part of Chinese society today? I love it.

I like that these authors use this virtual element of our contemporary lives as part of the romance, because truly, those are a big part of our lives today, and it's only going to increase. <<less

I loved this story - not chokingly fluffy (just a little, lol) and not too gritty.

I was a bit worried in the first chapter that it was going to be one of those abuse-disguised-as-romance books, but the other reviews made me push on and I'm so glad I did. So cute and funny!

It's definitely a light novel. Basically about heroine and hero flirting with each other.

I don't like that very much, because I'm an introverted and dense person 😅. So flirting is a definitely no for me and I also don't like to witness other people's flirting. It's kinda embarrassing 🙈? But anyway... it's still a fluffy novel with a not so famous but a good actress and model x a nice and rich entertainment industry CEO.

It's cute and fluffy, but nothing spectacular... it took some effort to finish the novel. There's... more>> not a lot of drama too, just minor conflicts... not those typical hardcore face slapping Chinese novels.

I don't think the novel is a four stars, probably a two or three? I just gave a four stars, because the main couple was...

Spoiler

... really nice. And that's rare to see, at least in all the dozens of Chinese novels that I read before.

Male lead Song Nanchuan was a powerful CEO, but still very gentleman and respectful. Nothing of those typical CEOs of Chinese novels, cold, rude and domineering, aka those typical scumbags. Of course, he wasn't perfect and had his shortcomings, but still, he was a lot better than those stereotypes rude CEOs of other novels.

Female lead Pei Ying was also very likable. She was gentle and very down to earth. She didn't pursue revenge to those who offended her, such as fans and others actors, aka nothing of those face slapping novels. She also didn't fall into the pitfall of the entertainment industry, that use their body and beauty to lure the directors, actors and investors to get famous.

The only characteristic of female lead's that I didn't like...

Spoiler

... was that she was really attracted to appearance, and that was really shallow of her.

I just wished that she would prefer a soul to soul connection than just click straight with his handsomeness.

Female lead's friend said: "I understand. If my boyfriend made a decision like that without asking me, I'd be angry too. But that's how it is when two people are in a relationship. There will inevitably be friction. You enjoyed his pretty face, so shouldn't you also tolerate his personality faults? You can't just reap all the benefits, can you?"

Female lead: "..." She actually felt that made some sense...

I also didn't like how easily she fell in love with male lead. I particularly don't like when that happens. Probably because I like cold heroines or at least heroines that don't fall in love so easily. Anyway, this is only my preference, not exactly a complaint.

But what really annoyed me was how they were kinda childish during their fights. During their first argument they already broke up instead of talking with each other and proudly none of them wanted to give the first step to fix the relationship. Argh so childish and annoying 🙄 It took what? Five chapters for them to make out.

[collapse]

Their families weren't the best either...

Spoiler

Her family was a money grubber. Drooling over male lead's money. But what I really liked is how female lead always put them in their place, saying that it was his money and that didn't have anything to do with her or her family.

But male lead's family was a little too pretentious. Proud of their richness and "noblesse." Especially his father. When male lead decided to introduce female lead to his family he instructed her to behave not like herself but like a well bred of an aristocrat family. Was he embarrassed of her origins or manners? Besides, female lead was so s*upid that she got drunk while drinking beer with male lead's second brother and was seen by her father in law. Was she s*upid or what? Especially because that she fell to the trick of the second brother. And the father in law got all mad complaining that she was from a poor family, didn't have manners like those aristocrat young ladies and was an unknown actress. He said their family would be a laughing stock.

The mother in law was nice and funny, but still... Argh, why she wanted to be part of such pretentious and snobbish family?

[collapse]

But my favorite part of the novel that made me laugh 🤭 for a while was the part... (don't read if you don't want to spoil the fun)

Spoiler

... that male lead saw female lead playing an online game in her cellphone. She complained that her high scores were too low. He decided to give a try. And got an amazing score, but in order to do so, his hands movements had to be fast. Female lead got so excited and praised him, by saying: "The young hero has such fast hands, he must be single!" (Like you know, fast hand for practicing of touching himself all the time? 😂)

Female lead: "... "

Male lead: "... " "Yeah, I'm single."

[collapse]
[collapse]

But those complaints is only me nitpicking. Anyway, I think it's a good novel to pass time.

I also learned through the comments that they have a bunch of other novels with shared universes. That various secondaries characters of this novel, had their own novel. Anyway, I don't think I'm going to read the other novels, since this novel wasn't interesting enough for me. But it must be a good suggestion for those who liked this novel. <<less

I really don't understand where to good ratings comes from, the story is bland... there's more rolling in bed than anything else, every now and then there seem to be a buildup for something to happen.. and then it just drops, it's lovely dovely alright, at the end its nothing special. A okay read if you bared out of your mind or can't sleep, it might help with that! 2 1/2 Stars would be perfect.

3 stars or arguably 4 stars just for the top notched translation quality.

Not terrible, but not great.

I started this because I loved Slowly Falling For Changkong of the same author. But what can I say... This one didnt have that much of an impact for me.

The ML and FL don't really give me the vibe of having a special, heart pulling connection. Very minor spoiler that probably won't affect your reading below.

Spoiler

ML and FL are basically only together because they found each other attractive. Subsequent interactions and events don't really expand on their love relationship besides the fact that "since we already did it, why not just get married and end this novel"

[collapse]

Character development is near non-existent for me. Side characters not impactful. Don't get your hopes up for this novel. Treat it as a palate cleanser before moving on to others. <<less

No love triangle or second ml.

I didn't like the female lead here, I loved the fl's from "Slowly falling for changkong" and "Good morning miss ghost" from the same author.

I just forced myself to finish the novel. The plot is average, character development is between average and bad, 25 chapters in I was considering dropping this novel but since its not any dark novel and just plain romance I finished this.

Also in this novel and "Marriage Concerto", the male leads are shown to have put more effort in their relationship... more>> and love their partners more. While the fls are just demanding and just go with the flow and dont show much love other than agreeing to have s*x and kiss. I don't understand this, here I feel the fls dont love their partner but they just be with them and show affection just because the male leads show enough love for them.

Hence the 3 star. <<less

Just Blame Me For Being Blind In The Beginning is a quite interesting novel, although it has an old motif (story plot). This novel takes place in the entertainment industry, which was the reason why I decided to read it. At first, I thought that there will be a lot of dramas going on - just like Hidden Marriage (my favourite novel), but no, this is a really really really sweet showbiz novel without any dramas. ... more>>
Spoiler

The novel is sooo sweet that I felt like dropping it, and that I was so happy when the main characters broke up... Sadly, after a few chapters, they made up.

The story focused on Pei Ying and Song Nan Chuan's love story, hence, the other side characters weren't much outstanding. If you're looking for a sweet novel with a bossy male lead and a gentle female lead, then this is a great choice for you! For me, I don't really like bossy, competitive, and overprotective male leads, so I'll give this novel a 5/10. <<less

it made me laugh a lot at the beginning but I feel like the writing and romance was a bit forced and dragging. Nevertheless, very enjoying and I love how it touched real couple issues :) made me giddy and made me feel like I was in mc’s shoes lol

I’m not that far into the story but based on what I know so far, these are my opinions.

1. The plot line doesn’t make sense. I know it’s a romance novel and you really can’t define love and all but the MC just fell in love with the ML cause he was kind to her a few times? What? Especially since she’s in the show business, she should know that most people aren’t what they seem like. Isn’t she talking in love too quickly?

2. The plot line doesn’t make sense.... more>> I know I said the same thing in no.1 but why does the ML fall for the MC? Cause of her long legs? Mental face palm

3. The MC is a jerk. I know I don’t have much evidence to proof this claim but my theory is ‘The ML is a prevented jerk who only like the MC because he wants to claim her.’
And my reasons are one, why the heck did he fall in love with her in the first place? Her long legs.

Two, Why does he follow her along like a stalker? I get that the first meeting was a coincidence but the rest? They were planned. Don’t be creepy and stalk girls please. And no matter how rich and powerful you are, please don’t do a background check on people without permission. That’s a violation of privacy. I get the purpose, he’s a rich and powerful man who can get your information that could potentially destroy you with a snap. But every time I read it, I still cringed and feel creeped out. This might just be my preference though.

three, why is he so protective of her. In fact, it’s not even protective anymore, it’s possessive. The MC is pretty unlucky, with all the guys after her being creepy dudes. But that doesn’t mean you can go ruin her dates and get angry at people. I’m grateful that you’re helping her escape and if something like that happens in real life, please help them as well. But do not act like you own the MC. She’s not even your girlfriend yet. You’re seriously telling me if the MC met a nice guy who genuinely likes her and wants to go on a date with her, ML wouldn’t have slam the door open and ruin that date for her? That’s just messed up man. If you did that in real life, you would have gotten slapped and blocked. Obviously that didn’t happen since this is a novel but.. Still not okay. <<less

I have only just started and I probably should to read more before reviewing, however the characters feels flat and uninteresting. The MC and all the other side characters seem to have pretty similar 1 dimensional personality, the only thing that seem to set them apart is MC’s long legs?
Secondly, the ML isn’t the positive type of cold but caring CEO, he’s more like the spoilt young master who gets what he wants by throwing lots of money at it type, at least that’s my impression of him.
Thirdly,... more>> the MC was supposed to be careful and don’t sleep with anyone, however she fell for the MC too quickly and without any reason given. We don’t know what she likes about him and then she just slept with him when he said he would give her himself for her birthday? This is my least fave of all the books in the shared universe. Was this Chestnut’s first book perhaps? I don’t think I can continue reading, I feel bored. <<less

A lighthearted fluffy romance. No drama, just two people falling in love with our FL getting pampered by the ideal rich CEO loving boyfriend girls dreams of. Pretty common story in all honesty, but there's always a space in my heart for these kinds of stories which are very suitable for my quick binge reading cravings. While the ML has that cliché OP ceo qualities, the FL being pretty ordinary (tho it could be considered cliché too) it wasn't dislikeable or annoying. I liked that FL was not that OP... more>> but instead a sincere hardworking girl who built up herself & her skills then eventually made her way up with the opportunities she needed one by one to build her career.

Spoiler

ML giving her family a face slap for their sh*t treatment of her was satisfying, tho I would've liked it to be more harder (?) bc those kinds of parents really doesn't deserve such a good daughter like Pei Ying though I guess its enough to keep in theme with the story. I would've liked to know what happened afterwards though, if they kept being the tr*sh they and she cut them loose or they just stayed away and kept civil or something

[collapse]

Spoiler

I really would've liked more about the side story of the ML's 2nd brother Song Muyang and FL's bff Ren Shanshan!!! I was anticipating their story at the end, those two old drivers lol xD

Personally I like this kind of lighthearted rom-com because it's relaxing to read, especially after a hard day at work. I do find some parts of the novel that doesn't sit well with my beliefs about equality in relationship, but in this story, Pei Ying never even once think or feel like she's forced to follow his decisions. When he screw up, she get mad at him and even and give him a deserved separation.

Although I have never been in a relationship, when I imagined about having a boyfriend who's... more>> so dedicated and serious about me, to the point of having everything prepared according to my preferences, I feel that I will be very happy with that. I myself am not really a person who needs to be in control of every little thing in my life so having someone I love decide some things for me can be a great thing too.

Lastly, for every readers, please keep in mind that this story is made to satisfy your inner girly heart that wish to be whisked away by some wealthy and pampering CEO. I think we can all agree that some plot holes or unsatisfying flow of story is excusable to make the story progress smoothly without unnecessary angst. This is a novel that is meant to be read through a rose-tinted glasses. So if you feel like this is not your cup of tea then please proceed to another novel without having to disdain or look down on this story.

P.S. The title does say that the FL is blind for falling in love with the ML just for his appearance, so what else are you hoping for the ML's personality, lol. <<less
