Inside An Ad**t Game As A Former Hero

Description

I got pulled into the NTR game I was going to gift to my pure harem lover friend.

The game has already progressed to the middle, and the heroines seem to have been already stolen away from the hero, in which I was transmigrated into.

Now I just deeply crave for a cigarette, but I can’t even smoke in this world…!

My biggest issue with this novel is some disjointed story telling and offscreen actions. Some things seem to happen because it's a funny idea but then they're not resolved properly. With that said, this story is hilarious. It has a really strong start with a petty chad bro being ridiculous. Would recommend for fun.

so story short this is about a chad MC adventure. Lul
if you put the meme this MC is combinations of chad male and sigma rules combine 2022.
don't be scary about the descriptions it's extremely miss leading.

i wish somebody can edit the descriptions please, to not scare people away.

seriously can the author make better tittle's ? This is very good but the tittle scare people away ?! The most easy alternative tittle is " I got transferred / send into ntr game ! ". this is not ntr story, I repeat not ntr, the story is about useless hero do soul exchange ritual and his soul got swap to other people from earth then the earth guy our MC is absolute giga chad, He then ditches those 3 B*tches right away then become adventurer later on. (And yes the hero is dead, inside the body is someone else our giga chad MC).

i can't spoil the story, if you like Giga chad MC it's a must read.

if you still don't understand the hero is the one got ntr then go su*cide using soul exchange ritual and in his body now not the hero but new guy that has no connections to those 3 B*tches.

I'm being very generous honestly, it's saved by a decent translation and good website.

The story itself is just like reading NTR stuff, maso shit...

You'll be tortured with expectations and then have them torn apart. And you'll want the MC to stop being an ass, or stop the asses but no he's not.

Spoiler

Apparently he does later in the story according to the other reviews but damn I'm over this shit.

I've enjoyed the story up to this point but after chapter 100, everything fell apart for me.

Spoiler

The thing is, the original MC gets "betrayed" by his companions and he commits soul su*cide. I do say "betrayed", because the companions are also victims themselves as well in causing this betrayal. Regardless, betrayal is still betrayal and needs to be punished.

The author did a great job in outlining this and nicely developed proper punishments for the 3 characters, and the 3 of them also responded in such a way that showed they were trying their best to redeem themselves.

Up to this point is all nice and well.

The problems start to show up after the first 3 companions meet the new 3 companions. I would've expected the author to start building some sort of tension between them and have the MC solve that drama with his chad vibes, but that didn't happen.

The punishments that the author subjected the first 3 companions turned into mental torture. I did not sign up for that kind of thing. I'm all in for some all good deserved retribution for one's actions, but mental torture under the pretext of paying for this victimised betrayal crosses the line for me. (-1 star)

The second thing that ticked me off was the goddess.

It was fun in the beginning, when he gave MC manhood a boost and forced her angel to have s*x with MC. I though that was great for the laughs, but her behaviour in punishing a saintess candidate that was doing her best to save the people during a disaster against the very evil she was supposed to fight, only because she questioned her divine ass is just plain wrong.

From that point it made me realise that the goddess has a screw loose, in a bad way:

    1. Chose 2 people with evil dispositions as heroes
    1. Chose a weak willed individual to become a hero (MC before soul su*cide)
    1. Had her subordinate to be r*ped by a hero
    1. Punished a saintess candidate while trying to save people, for questioning her s*upid ass

This is just... I can't stomach this when the very goddess is supposed to be against evil, but it seems that she just f*cks up with everyone for her own pleasure. I have a strong feeling that she is also supporting the Demon King behind the scenes for the war to keep going forever. (-1 star)

I decided to read some spoilers to see if it will get better in the future, if it is worth to keep up the hope. But not for me.

Apparently, the MC eventually tells the companions that betrayed the previous MC what happened. The childhood friend of the previous MC decided to commit su*cide because of that. The relationship he had with Frielle, goes awry as well because of he began thinking with his c*ck. Forces a princess to rule a kingdom by kidnapping her.

Basically, there is no hope for the rest of the novel.

Welp, it was nice for the first 100 chapters.

Honestly it was fine at first, even with the clichés and other troupes it's still manageable. However it's not something you can binge all they way, it has around 8o chapter when I read it and half way through I'm just thinking "get the story going already!!!" The f*cking dungeon part took forever, I look forward to see all the bullsh*t he has to drag through for this dungeon "Arc" to finish and I was done. I see a lot of potential, it could be entertaining and a decent read... more>> (nothing to serious). There is intrigue in his mysterious background (sort of) and the satisfying feeling of seeing him become more than he is right now can be good motivation. BUT MY GOD does this novel drags its ass on everything. At his point I'm just done and couldn't bother to keep reading because it sure as hell not entertaining enough to motivate me to find out what happens

Overall impression good for killing sometime but nothing I will invest in further. I try to be vague to not spoil but honestly even if I do you won't be missing much. I guarantee you can skip a few chapters and nothing of significance would have occurred. <<less

With a title that would make you reconsider at least thrice before giving it a chance, this novel brings what exactly to the table? Surprisingly, a lot more than I expected. While the plot itself is the same pre bought cake mixture that always has the same taste that you can find in any Isekai story, the protagonist is truly one beautiful way to ornate this otherwise bland 'cake'.

The antihero troupe has started gaining some track lately as the generation of self absorbed kids that were infected with the white... more>> knight syndrome had grown up and were cut off from their parents money which had allowed them to always feed themselves on dreams of someday getting harems while being wimpy, beta and always on full simp mode. Still, while having some popularity, it's quite difficult to go truly evil with the antihero, and most author slowly mellows the evil traits. I guess even for the slightly more mature audience, not forgiving a beautiful girl with huge b**bs is still hard to accept, even if she cucked you. Sadly for those that would accept getting cucked, here we don't have to deal with this kind of shit.

The story itself uses of course the premise of semi omniscience of the game plotline so as to give the protagonist the edge to kick ass. Thankfully, there is one added trait to the protagonist that manages to make this advantage seem more of a bonus rather than the sole lifeline. Well, the title is a giveaway, but the character itself can be described best with one word, petty. But this makes him a lot more acceptable in the role of a protagonist in a very f*cked up world.

The side character, the main characters, the plot and the twist and turns are not going to surprise anyway and they are certainly not going to give you a change to shed some tears. Still, as a revenge story, it does it's job in some occasions in some very creative ways without intentionally making a point of it.

Overall, well, 5 stars, I find these kind of protagonists refreshing, so I'm quite biased. <<less

While I enjoyed this novel to a certain degree, there's not much to talk about it. To explain in a few words: all the novelty and excitement revolves around the fact MC transmigrated into a beta cuck. The transmigrator is a Chad, while the "stolen" party members regret their choices, angst ensues. That's about it.

In all 30 chapters I read, you can look for world building, intricate mechanics and plot devices, characters, dialogue, etc: it's all bland. The most thrilling parts of this novel revolve around the NTR plot device... more>> (it's literally the backbone), and I was about to give up on it until I reached chapter 30, where it picks up some steam.

To give an example, the world building is so choppy that MC doesn't bother hiding his name until he figures it out that it's detrimental to him otherwise. Like, if you're going to hide your identity, the least you can do is use an alias. That's not to mention his body and skills, are you seriously telling me that no one in the entire realm can recognize a Hero? This is not an undercover cop, that has to pull a badge to prove his identity (and even then, thugs will suspect an undercover cop merely by his attitude). MC is basically a celebrity. Well, at least the author was realistic in that he was recognized immediately in his home kingdom. Regardless, you get the idea: everything is pretty straightforward.

What surprised me even more was that I've seen readers dislike the attention that was given to MC's previous party members... The whole point of the series revolves around the consequences of their actions and schadenfreude. The MC himself just flits from one place to another seemingly randomly. The emotions portrayed on those scenes are the culmination of all the pointless grind of tens of chapters.

To sum it up even more, I'd say this novel is shield hero with adult themes and if its MC was a Chad, with a general downgrade.

I might change my review after I see future developments, but right now I stand to give it a firm 2.5 rounded up. Only read if you truly find nothing else better or are tired of the typical japanese MC. <<less

It's a power fantasy, but unlike many other power fantasies on this site, this novel feels a lot more human. Human conflict and emotions play a big role in this novel.

The MC isn't an empty self-insert, that s*aves himself for some RPG gamer system. He has real motivations, hopes, dreams and (hinted) nightmares. The novel has LitRPG elements, but they are very subtle.

It has an interesting hook and the translation speed is rather good. Hard recommend.

The start of the story is quite shallow but improves soon after. Many unexplained parts but it's actually better this way, I prefer stories where not all information was being spoon fed to the readers, thanks to that the story is quite fast paced.

The comedy is also quite good, there's so many parts that gives anxiety but the way MC flirt and tease the girls is very interesting. One girl I like the most was his interaction with one of the villainess girl, she started as unimportant side character and... more>> I hated her at first but surprisingly she actually become such a cute tsundere.

The novel can be really annoying at times, it's not a well written story but still the characters are interesting. The thing I hated the most is that the Drama is dragged on too much, the author is making MC's allies have too much mental suffering. I feel like the novel was created to make MC's friends keeps being bullied by villains and suffers to no end. They're just so pitiful and it makes me angry that the MC have no clue about their sufferings and when he see some hints of it he keeps ignoring it, as if the author doesn't know how to progress them so author just continuesly ignoring the important characters of the story.

There's also the NTR veil spread out all over the story, although it's not an actual NTR it still leaves a bad taste. So far, it's not a story to be taken too seriously but it has a very interesting character interaction. I tried to read the mtl but it's so hard to enjoy. I might reread this when Translation is complete. <<less

I would've rated this series 4/5, but after reading ahead on MTL (ch.198) I downgraded it to 2 (actually 1.5 if not for the great start and Frilite). The early part is great, up until around ch.50 things start to went wrong but still good. Around chapter 100-ish things start to went from good to meh, and around ch.150-ish it just bad. MC personality just went hard 180 no scope from good to bad, relationship issues keep being dragged on for filler sake, and the writing just get stale.

I would... more>> not recommend reading this. Those 5 stars are mostly people's rating on early chapters.

Spoiler

There's no hard NTR, or even NTRi (Netori). Just "Relationship that look very complicated but actually easily resolved in 20 chapters or less".

Finished the book. The title isn’t misleading, and while the setting was very amusing initially, the author writes as if he wants to end the story quickly later on.

At the very least, the author writes a very interesting setting and a pretty humorous straight man gag (Mars) initially and emotional damage to ‘heroines’ mid way.

Its a Korean guy’s interpretation on the Japanese isekai genre. Except the isekai is a NTR world.

Spoiler

MC’s avatar, Cloud basically got c*cked in the game he was playing. In fact, even the new party members he recruits after the first ones leave will NTR him if the execution and relationship building is done poorly like in the game. It’s even said if he enters a certain portal, they will immediately backstab you and give you a game over.

[collapse]

However because of poor writing, or not wanting to deal with characters mending their problems by talking, MC gets sort of a harem at the end. It’s actually just three girls and a black bellied miss. The ending is decent (as with most novels you read).

Unfortunately the peak of this novel is up until Mars reunites with his GF. Seriously. MC is basically a half assed scumbag. <<less

This genre and plot was kinda cliche, 'kinda' be because the genre of the game was NTR, and the damn narrator is unreliable, but man was it smooth, the background of the characters, the psychoanalysis of the girls and others (lol), not just certain people, the hidden true past (this maybe a bit irritating, but if you think about it logically, it is reasonable) of MC and the delicious translation.

Highly recommended, although sadly first smex is at chap 49, the plot is damn good.

Great novel overall, one of the very few I check regularly for the updates. So I thought I am at a good position to review it.

There is no NTR here, I don't know why Novel Updates say NTR.

This is not an adult novel, no smut or anything. It's more of an Action/Adventure and Mature genre.

MC is likeable, he is a veteran, not of games only but also for war. He was likely in Army or was a Mercenary good enough to retire in peace. He is practical and is just... more>> fun to be honest.

Setting is standard Hero-Demon King-Evil God in a Game template. While his goal is to defeat the Demon King there indeed exist some Evil God and this some Gods who forced him into this game. The power path is predictable if you have read at least one of those novels. Nothing new but nothing bad too.

Everything else is fine. Novel is easily worth a 4.5 rating but since it's not here, I will give 5 star.

Also, some degenerates here may not like him not seeking revenge against his past team which betrayed the former owner of his body, but it's really not realistic to find them to punish for their deeds when he is not even powerful enough to do that. And since MC is realistic, he even thinks that the betrayal was justified so some hot blooded readers would not like his approach on past matters. But as someone who likes realist MC, this is a plus point for me. <<less

The novel is good, the reviews here are torn between the MC being a chad and garbage character, I am leaning more into the Chad since:

  1. He saves Cloud's former party from the bst@rds, but doesn't really treat them as his women more like companions.
  2. I agree about the one review that said that the personality of the MC is pretty garbage but
    Spoiler

it was explained that the world influences his mind to some extent, and he also takes responsibility to the things he did, I don't know if others will be satisfied with this because as a former hero I would for him to have atleast some resistance to being mind controlled.

    [collapse]
  3. The MC's personality is... Not great but as I said in the 2nd one
    Spoiler

the world affects his mind, and his experience as a former hero is not really great, I wouldn't spoil it too much to those that want to read this but the world he got summoned is a dark world, not a usual one where the hero will go on a journey and defeat the demon king easily, it's a full blown war unlike this one where the heroes can still have parties iirc.

    [collapse]
  4. Forgot about this one, but the former party is pretty meh except the knight girl
    Spoiler

the mage girl left the hero because the other hero is better in her eyes, and she wanted recognition From her family, the knight got forced by the b@st@rd hero, and the priest iirc just tagged along the knight because she want to help her, and the reason why I like the knight girl in the former party is because when the MC's past got revealed she's the only one that asked what happened to cloud's soul and actually grieved his death, so yeah, she might have been corrupted if she stayed longer with the other hero but in the first place she did because she want to protect her friend.

Hello there,

it narrates the story of a transmigrated person who is now a weak hero who embark in a journey to become stronger, explore the ends of the wolrd and across the experience meet beauties. The protagnist is the star of the story, he is very well designed, he is a person who is true to his desires and has a pragmatic view of the world, he is not good nor bad. Besides the protagnist there another characters who feel unique and coherent who accompany him in his journey.

The... more>> world is well written, there are good fight scenes and there is dept in the story. The author and translator have abundant talent and it is shown in their work.

This novel is one my favorites right now and I follow it very closely, I muss warn though, it is not a masterpiece, the person who read this story muss know, it is a story full of s*x, harem, romance and a lot of action. But since that is my cup of tea I like it a lot, therefore 5/5. <<less

What can I say, if you are fan of harem and entertaining storyline this is the novel for you. The MC is not broken or timid, he is a Chad and the best character. Initially the story goes a bit slow, but once it catches steam you can't stop.

The only disappointment was that it ended 🥲 I would have loved to see more interactions with his harem, but it gradually lessens towards the end. Now if I can find the side stories to read somewhere that would be perfect.

When I saw the title I finally thought "so I've fallen so low eh" But contrary to my expectations this novel is really good.

first the story 8/10

The story is set in a medieval world where 4 heroes exist to defeat the demon king a fairly typical story the MC is robbed of his teammates and decides to commit su*cide and give his body to another.

At first I had no expectations in the story and less looking at the title, but in fact it is quite good has a clear plot... more>> and the goal of defeating the demon king (although there was a moment that I thought I was reading an erot*c novel).

Characters 7/10

So far Honestly everyone is incredibly shitty except for a few like the MC and the imperial hero.

Heroes first

They are obsessed with making ntr with the protagonist's sidekicks they don't have an outstanding development generic antagonist.

The hero's sidekicks are also not saved they are honestly sh*t especially there is one that earned all my contempt the saint as far as I go is just a bit*h who doesn't care she never apologizes to MC and only thinks for herself (may change in the future but as far as I go no) The other two have so little relavancy I don't distinguish them honestly crap.

MC 9/10

That's one of the things I like about this play the MC is a guy who knows what he wants and isn't indecisive at all times because of s*upid things. Besides being a pretty well written character overall (I may have overrated him) It also helps quite a bit that if he does have relationships with the women who seek him out even when they abandoned or betrayed him He responded in a way that he doesn't care which I liked quite a bit and also stands up for himself against abusive heroes.

Total 8/10

So far I've enjoyed it probably my opinion changed when I finished the novel honestly, if I had to say something that didn't convince me it was the way it accepted the heroines but that's another topic overall I recommend you read it if you're bored at home (this was my second time writing a review so it's probably crap). <<less

Like most Korean comics/novels, this is a power trip, self insert story. Basically what would you do if you were put into an NTR eroge (or at least, what you'd think you'd do). Story started out really edgy, but it gets better when it gets to the adventuring part. It reverts back to edginess here and there. I do like some of the guilt trip scenes for the girls who betrayed him, but a lot of them are so forced, it's hard to read. Originally read this for the smut,... more>> but stayed for the story. If you're reading it purely for smut, it's going to take you a while to get there. I don't know about the rest of the untranslated chapters, but smut is not the focus of this story.
Spoiler

In the 80 translated chapters, there's only 2 s*x scenes and neither of them were really substantial/fulfilling. They were side characters as well.

Overall, I enjoyed it. <<less
