The second prince has come of age. To celebrate the advent of such an occasion, the search for a suitable bride began. My younger sister was expected to go to the Royal Palace as a candidate. However, despite this, she eloped the day before her departure. I, the older sister she left behind, looked almost exactly like her – so much that we were often mistaken for twins…

One month, right? For just one month, shall I substitute in for my sister?

This is a cute romance story. I wish there are more chapters. However, the cute first few chapters were enough for me to judge that this novel is one of the cutest romance ever. Though for shoujo genre, my number 1 will still be Reika-sama (Kenkyo Kenjitsu). I’m just hoping that there will still be more chapters in the future. By the way, good job for the translator in introducing this cute novel. (Aye~ I'm plaguing this review with many 'cute'.)

Liked the story but the sudden drop in translation quality at chapter 5 is a bit of a stinker. This story relies more on character interaction and dialogue so quality of translation is a much more important factor than in a typical CN/LN. The 1-star deduction is for this reason. I may revisit it when it's fully translated.

I think she kind of remind me of the Monkey bakarina. If you want to read a fluffy Story, that one will do! It's pretty good! Even the fact that She talk with Plant!

The ending was super floppy and full of happiness. Plot pacing could use some work, but overall the story is engaging enough to keep you wanting to find out more of the MC'S feelings.

I wish the author had wrote a final chapter with her wedding happening together with her friend's, that'd make for a perfect happy ending.

OVERALL, I very much enjoyed it and will gladly recommend it to everyone looking for a fluffy shoujo story.

The beginning is good light hearted fun with the MC's overwhelming passion for plants. Once she realizes her feelings for the love interest it quickly devolves into a typical shoujo, where her reactions and thoughts are easily predictable and thus much less interesting. Recommend if you like shoujo romance.

A very promising story which bears strong resemblance to "I Reincarnated into an Otome Game as a Villainess With Only Destruction Flags", AKA "Bakarina". Our MC likes gardening and taking care of herbs etc. (Similar to Bakarina with her farm), she is different from others which naturally catches the attention of the male lead (again, bearing similarities to bakarina). This story can be described as very cute and fluffy and also funny at times. You would enjoy the monologue of our rather unique MC as you progress through the story... more>> and learn more about her character. We can also see how the female lead and the male lead become attracted to each other and how their romantic relationship starts to develop. This story is off to a very promising start, with good pacing, character introduction and character development. I expect future chapters to continue to impress. Highly recommended so try it if you like a cute fluffy read. <<less

Quirky, horticulture obsessed female lead with a sharp tongue but slow mind manages to attract the attention of a younger, ‘innocent’ and possibly smarter male lead, dragging her into a romantic relationship and possibly political intrigue?

It’s a little early to guess where the story might head to, but scenarios and humour seem a little forced. While the tone somewhat resembles Dragon Life, it lacks the same charm and enthusiasm. The characters also feel a little unrealistic and flat. They’re assigned a few traits to differentiate them but not in an... more>> endearing way. The story is relatively new, but it’s not off to a great start. I’ll probably read a few more chapters before I rate it, but it feels like a 3/5. <<less

Its a nice short read, though it would of been nice if the author added a side story chapter 1 year in the future. The translation was a bit confusing from chapter 5-10 but you can still understand what is going on. If you like simple romances without much drama (There was some but the outcome was pretty obvious) then this is a nice short read without any suspense.

It's a cute story, though it bored me a bit I guess.

It's saving grace was the fact that it was short, had it been longer whould have tossed it for sure.

What a sweet short story. The story is told from MC's (Anessa) POV. MC is forced to impersonate her younger sister, Theresa, to attend ML's (2nd prince, Itaka) bride selection. Assured that she's not going to be chosen, MC leisurely spend her time in the royal herb garden to do gardening (her favorite thing to do back at home). Unexpectedly, she meet ML there. And you know what happens next. After many interactions, they slowly fall in love with each other and cause other bride candidates burn with jealousy.

The plot... more>> is quite simple but sometimes the translation makes me confused. Also the dialogue and the monologue are quite mingled. Sometimes I don't know who told which dialogue or is it dialogue or MC's monologue. I hope translator-sama could improve the translation's quality. <<less

It was ok. It had the whole "not like other girls" vibe which was personally cringey. Plus I feel like the author was too busy forcing her other story on us to pay much attention to this one. Still, Thank you to both translators. ❤❤

nah.... he's 15 and she's 21. the age gap isn't cute at all. it's disturbing that the female lead could ever fall in love with a child who is literally 15 years old.

other than that, the translation wasn't that great either. the last few translated chapters had sections that made absolutely no sense and I couldn't figure out which characters were talking or what emotions they had. I'm sure they tried their best but it reminded me of when you put a page through google translate.

the story itself wasn't that... more>> interesting and from what has officially been translated on novelupdates, it's kind of boring and the characters really aren't fleshed out enough. for me, every single character besides the MC and ML are there for plot convenience and not to actually be interesting as themselves.

Spoiler

the sister in law of the ML is a hero? wow, that's actually pretty cool! a character other than the MC or ML being a hero is kind of rare in a shoujo romance and could be setting up for a future plot! in actuality, the hero characteristic does absolutely nothing for the story and without it, the plot would have progressed in the exact same way. it doesn't impact anything and I don't know why they made the sister in law of the ML a hero when she could have been a noble lady...

[collapse]
the ML also has no personality. the only reason I can think of that the ML would like the MC is because she's "different" than the other girls because she gardens, and she's a little dense. that's really not a good enough reason for him to profess love to her but ok. that kind of already establishes him as shallow, but that's the only thing I can think of. he has a perfect character where he's princely, but pushy and exerts his position over her very often. it's not interesting or exciting, and it's kind of annoying that he's a figure of perfection and handsomeness without having any likable qualities besides being weirdly possessive of a woman who not only tricked him but is too dense to actually rule over a country.

the MC is dense to the point where it starts getting exhausting rather than cute.
Spoiler

she's a pushover and does whatever people tell her to do, and never actually ends up telling the prince her real feelings about the matchmaking to the point where he falsely believes that she has feelings for him.

[collapse]
she's not particularly kind or thoughtful, and doesn't possess a lot of common sense or propriety. she's only smart when the situation arises instead of catching the issue from the beginning, and her social sense is non existent. MCs who are pushovers are some of the most annoying because they don't stand up for themselves and everyone else steps all over them. MC's father, sister, sister in law, the prince, and the villainess all stepped on MC or caused trouble for her and she didn't stand up to them at any point. she seems to be too afraid to express her truthful feelings, but for some reason doesn't mind going up to random strangers and telling them that the prince wants to dance. she is both shy and sly but not enough to actually be interesting and impact her overall character. she doesn't learn anything and there is no character development for anyone.

the conflict is absolutely mundane --
Spoiler

she's disguised as her sister in a matchmaking ceremony and the sister in law and prince just HAPPEN to like her immediately?

[collapse]
.... her problems get solved within the chapter and it's just not interesting.

the worst part is that the prince holds significant power and status over her head and has shown to manipulate her with it knowingly. their power dynamic is so wildly different that you can't help but feel like the gullible MC has been duped into thinking she loves a prince she that has only known for a couple days. on the other hand though, the MC is significantly older (6 YEARS!!!) than the prince and the argument could be made that the prince only has an immature crush on the clearly older MC, and MC has a big issue for not nipping the problem in the bud and cutting his romantic attempts off as soon as they started.

it's not disgustingly awful but by no means is it the fantastic story that some of the reviews are raving about. if you're craving a mundane and meaningless story about shallow characters, a plot full of holes, and numerous translation errors, I guess this is for you but let me assure you that there are shorter stories than this with far more meaning and depth. I don't hate it but it's really not worth anything higher than 3 stars. <<less

Ah, this is the 'proper' way to ruin a mediocre love story...

---

The plot, though sounds different, pretty much follows your typical shoujo formula: cute, fluffy, though not surprisingly got overused clichés, still buyable because that's what makes it enjoyable to read or watch, and leave us with a happy feeling. The first few chapters are quite funny. Also pretty much predictable and mediocre though, but you won't feel the urge to drop it right away despite that. Well, that is— if you don't have anything else to read. It's... more>> very light. So very light that it's not worth rereading for me.

As for the characters, there's nothing much to say aside from they are quite likeable and cute. Sadly though, I couldn't 'connect' much to them and get the 'feels' I usually get when reading/watching shoujo works. And it's all no thanks to the horrible translation.

Yes, as pastime, reading it is well-worth it if not for the frustrating reading experience. I'm talking about the terrible translation from chapter 5 onwards, as though I was reading a mere fan comment retelling the story! So careless! I mean, why the need to use lots of question and exclamation marks???!!! It's like there was no editor available and bothered to give it even a single glance before publishing. As you struggle through, you can't help but feel like you're reading a totally different novel. Each characters' established identity was completely lost! How frustrating! I honestly think reading it in raw or MTLing it on your own is much better than reading the translated version. I kind of feel bad for the author for this 'injustice'...

To be honest, I really find it hard to judge and give a fair rating since this was obviously butchered by the last translator. So, giving consideration to the story's uniqueness and overall appeal for 'enjoyment', I'm giving it a 3/5. Not bad, just 'OK'.

If you're planning to read it, bring a bag of patience and tolerance. <<less

It was ok. Translation was ok. I honestly want to read the country's hero's story with the first Prince more. They seemed more cute together. Both the scapegoat sister and the second Prince, they didn't really pop out to me. Even after I finished story, I didn't really feel like they left an impact on my mind. But the story's concept was unique.

This story reminds me of Cinderella. The Prince is selecting a bride from many, many candidates and is enthralled by our poor MC who is hiding her real identity.

Spoiler

She even leaves abruptly, causing the Prince to have to come find her to express his love for her while stating "I will make the woman that matches this hat my bride"

[collapse]

What stands out in this short story is the MC. She is one of the most unique female MC I have seen with her cute, borderline romantic love for gardening. If there is truly a "2nd lead" in this story, it would be her beloved medicinal herbs.

Spoiler

Prince: "Your plants love is deep, but I will not give up or hold back, though.

[collapse]

Something that I must critique though is the Prince's characterization. My first impression of him was a haughty prince with a deep admiration for his sister-in-law. But, as the story progressed, the author seemed to switch routes and tried to portray him as a bewitching, perfect guy whose maturity is well beyond his years. With him being 14 (going on 15) and the MC being 21, I struggled with the realism of their interactions and the nature of their relationship.

I would have liked to seen a chapter dedicated to the Prince's thoughts throughout the whole selection process and how he fell for our MC. But... overall, it is a simple, cute, and short read that will serve the purpose of making your mouth curl upwards on a boring afternoon. <<less

It's a cute love story, very very shoujo-like.

My only complain would be the lenght. It would've been fine for a "love at first sight" story, but the author insisted in developing something a little bit more complex, which in just 10 chapters felt way too rushed and kind of incomplete.

A solid 4.0. First 4 chapters are amazingly translated and very interesting (as far as a short shoujo goes). Later on it is getting messier and I had to guess some parts as translator in charge changed.

Second part is simply silly and could be better. Though there is some cuteness in it.

Overall, read it if you have nothing else to read - a quick and quite ok break.

I understand and like what is supposed to be happening, but the execution is a little...

Worth a read if you like short cute stories about humble heroines with quirky personalities!!

Update: going to up to 4 stars. Although it wasn’t a major theme, it was unique that the woman was older than the man here.

Sweet, Short and Quick.

I found this when I was searching for my next read 'age gap' novel. This story is a sweet read to pass time. Not really the type to have an over riding rollercoaster emotions filled type of read, but it is still worth the time to read.

Although it's cliche it was the type of cliche people would crave to read about. It is a sweet fluffy read consists of a plant loving and older MC who is pretending to be her sister and a younger ML who... more>> is focused on our MC. I quite liked the relationship between those two. It was somehow predictable for those two to be in love with the other but I liked it.

The first four chapters are well translated and easy to understand. Not to shame the other translator but there are some parts I don't understand and I think there are some parts of the novel missing too... But still good job and thank you for translating this novel translator (s) !

Since the story is super short, there's no big drama or anything at all.

This novel is good for passing the time, definitely recommended!

A solid 4 ✧ for this novel
(ノ◕ヮ◕) ノ*.✧

EDIT: Just noticed that I rated it 3 stars only... I don't know if it's only my phone glitching but I can't change the stars anymore so...

This was a nice read I guess. It reminds me of a certain villainess with a strange unique tendency for gardening also. *Chuckles* Anyways, the story was nice and had a great ending but some things that ruined it for me was the translator starting from chapter 5. My immersion during the ending was ruined because of the poor translation. So sad. Also, the transition from chapter 8 to chapter 9 is a little bit weird. Maybe the author just wanted it over with, but it transitioned a bit too... more>> abruptly. So abruptly that it makes you wonder if there was supposed to be another chapter between them. If there is, someone please link it. Overall, I would rate this a 3.7, good story but poor translation starting from chapter 5 and a confusing transition from chapter 8 to chapter 9. <<less
