It's an interesting concept, but I don't really enjoy chaotic evil main characters.

Maybe if it was a more adult story, I guess, but for some reason this guy who kills, steals, lies, hurts people for fun (he treats the entire thing as a game, so his only reason for anything he does is "for fun") will definitely never even consider doing something as immoral as have s*x, so this is a skip for me.

I went into it expecting him to honestly try to be heroic, and someone who's into playing... more>> games definitely knows what a hero is, but I guess he skipped through the story of every game he played? Because he keeps doing whatever and then gets surprised at the result, and he's more interested in appearing heroic completing quests than he is in acting like a hero.

It was my mistake so I won't give it a poor rating, but this is definitely not for everyone. <<less

Tags- harem, companion, party play, loyal companion,

first harem member and loyal female companion who MC refer as noona, from chp 16

MC is just chaotic. Nothing evil. As They lack that dark feeling like in RI. So for me, nothing evil. Just brainless people saying devil devil lol

... more>> He is going to be hero and will help people and save the world. And it's a fact. As That's the path he chose and that's the path imo he is being forced into.

Just a feeling but I think, someone is manipulating him on some big level via system. Or maybe writing is just not well thought ig.

Chp 3, game reset and MC regress to past.

< Level 1 >

Body: 0.59

Dexterity: 1.35

Mana: 0.18

Spirit: 1.12

*0 Fragment of Growth

His ability is gamer, not like manga the gamer. Instead it's just like a killing system with props and so on aa rewards on completion of missions.

MC is chaotic. He is not evil, it's just he thinks of world as game and everyone as NPC. So he can act good but he can also act bad. He don't have a proper alignment yet.

So I'll just say, he is chaotic.

He can be chaotic good as well as chaotic evil, depending on mission, situations and so on.

I have a feeling of harem in this.
So beware of that poison.
,.........

His personality could be explained by:
Spoiler

. Every game has its own goal.

In the case of 'War of Stars, ' the goal was to knock down the other race, and in the case of 'Raising a Princess, ' the goal was to raise your daughter into a princess.

So, what is my goal in this game?

Revenge? Well, no.

Rather, the word 'punish' may be better suited. Because I don't really have a huge grudge against those bastards.

I just wanted to kill the bastards who had interrupted my game.

[collapse]

I think his future goal or direction can be seen through this

Spoiler

Okay. I'll first find a way to become a hero, and if possible, I can come up with a strategy to build up my reputation as well."

And ultimately, in order to punish the devils, I needed colleagues on my side.

Honestly, I didn't dare to deal with so many troops alone.

Therefore, it was necessary to raise potential heroes and improve humanity's power.

I'm going to be busy in the future.

[collapse]

Downside:

You ain't gonna find much logic in here. But still it's a fun time pass novel. So if you are not in the mood to read some timepass novel then drop it. And read something better with a serious attitude ig. This novel is like the kind where you read at much faster speed than usual and not much of any info dump so it's just for enjoyment purpose ig overall this novel is good

But I hate the fact that he is being played or more like other knows about his future destiny and so on. It's just one thing that I really hate. When MC found out that maybe he is just a part of something bigger which is managed by someone else.

Doesn't matter if one day he surpass her. But till then it's really bad. But this is a very biased hate 😂 lol so I'll say overall this novel is good.

MC is moving toward this direction, and it's not even intentionally. So personally this novel is just getting me more frustrated. It's like the feeling you get when you are getting forced. Usually in evil MC I would say just kill the ones who are doing this or at least hate them and kill one day.

But here I can see they will become his closest bestest friend (I hate this part) and all the girls will be his harem part. Sigh

...I approached Elizabeth step by step.

She was still looking at me, but fortunately, she didn't notice anything strange.

Our distance was getting closer and closer.

About 1m apart. Enough to even see the small facial movements.

She looked me in the eyes and spoke.

"So... the life that you saved, you can take it if you want."

Elizabeth said so with a big smile.

And then, I stared at her face for a while.

For some reason, my excitement suddenly cooled. I didn't feel like it would be much fun to kill this woman anymore.

I secretly put my knife back into my inventory and reached out my hand.

"Don't say something weird, just return my gun."

[collapse]

MC was literally hating her, as she might know his destiny and future or so on. MC want to be in control so no such variable should be there. (Talking about future her, she said you will save me as for when and how, you will find it one day. She was referring to past as she knows MC secret and everything. MC only realised it when his system gave him mission to save her and all other coincident happen so many times that he got suspicious)

Secondly, in this chp due to her MC almost died, if not for his, super duper Lucky encounter, one of his skill just evolve kinda, just before 1 second of his death and MC easily defeated the enemy

Nevermind. I am going to drop this novel. I don't wanna see a forced relationship, companion, party play and so on. I thought it was solo or so on. But this is just getting on my nerve now.

[The effect < Mark of a Warrior > has activated.]

[Elizabeth's favorability has risen.

[The level of favorability has reached a certain level.

[You've met the requirement to recruit 'Elizabeth' as a companion

[Companions cannot betray you once they've joined your party.

In case you guys don't feel same way then it's ok. Everyone feels different way. So ig you are suitable to read this novel. Tbh it's a good novel that's why I don't down my rating. It's worth it if you like this type.

Loving it! The dark humor is gold. When reading this dont read it too seriously. Its a work of fantasy with a harem tag. HAREM TAG no other explaination need be said.

If your easily offended and or sensitive this will not be for you. The novel is sardonic, sarcastic, irreverent with high potential of being offensive, pokes fun at alot of things morality holds dear and showcases many situations of abject brutality.

The MC is a narcissistic psychopath due to a stunted childhood and lack of any form of socialization that... more>> doesn't involve massive death counts so do not expect him to have any semblance of a moral compass.

He has regressed to what is essentially a new game+ situation and is now being "forced" to be a hero, make friends/companions and essentially save the world and the MC is gleefully going along with it for the sole purpose of "completing a game" he essentially views everyone around him as NPC's and himself as literally just playing a game. But due to his tasks the world in general misunderstands him. They will be your ONLY source of fluff.

He has no emotional/s*xual attachment to other living beings outside of getting items/missions/tasks. So much so that he literally thinks anyone attracted to him are pe*verts regardless of gender, species and heck divinity.

In summary there are alot of reasons not to read it especially with a harem tag. I personally have only one reason to read it. It's FUN. <<less

This story may have come good for others but for me I totally regret reading this one. The MC is a Evil Antisocial homicidal maniacs who lose his humanity. He think that life is just a game and he's not aware that his action affect 'real' people's life it doesn't matter for him as long as he's not bored I was actually quite surprised reading some reviews seeing the protagonist isn't 'evil' even I an emotional individual couldn't sympathize with his unfortunate childhood no matter how hard I tried. Maybe... more>> it will get better in the future even so this is definitely not my type of story. <<less

A crazy absurd reality with an even crazier protagonist. The backdrop that in the near future a Super-Hero/Villain themed Earth becomes home to multiple realities of Fantasy/Murim tropes with dungeon breaks, rifts, and the forces of Heaven and Hell fighting for control. It hits those feelings in the beginning for a moment where a tortured soul just breaks and nihilism becomes him, subjecting himself to just the basic pleasures. His course is just the nature of his whims because nothing else matters.

The protagonist is a broken being that reawakes to... more>> realize in his own mind/power that reality is just a video game and he's living in it. What happens when that broken and tortured soul just doesn't want to play by the rules, the traditions, or the moral confines we create? He becomes a deranged supervillain that does whatever his heart desires and is labeled a natural disaster that people just avoid or generally ignore, getting in his way is just your bad luck. Our chaotic neutral protagonist then decides to make a second run on his life, he wants to become a Hero and he gets to restart back from the beginning. All the other characters live more grounded and realistic lives trying to survive in this bleak reality. Our protagonist is just trying to have fun and does what he wants or whatever the system he commands suggests he does, be it mu*dering in his birthday suit, stopping a mad elf king, or draining children of their life force to get a happy sticker.

I recommend this because I do like the world-building, I like the moral dilemmas some of the characters face, and I do enjoy a fresh take on a deranged villain turned hero. It does cram a lot of tropes and the protagonist might not be for everyone, he is completely psychotic. If you want to see a different take on the genre, I suggest reading it too. <<less

It so far gains the Super StrawBeary Seal of Approval!

I was a bit worried the first few chapters. This character has severely lost his mind; he's legitimately crazy, the tags and synopsis aren't exaggerating. That said, I'm still interested in his journey to become what people perceive as a hero. I don't think he's going to gain character growth, just more and more levels.
Spoiler

He's pretty set in his beliefs that life is a game and other people are just NPCs who he can kill at any time for the sake of a level-up. So far in his second playthrough, though, he's picked and chosen the people I think should be killed. Sometimes the author gives the victim a bit of backstory and humanity to make us feel for them, but then you remember 'oh, right, their banquet's dinner was human children', 'oh, right, she plotted to kill his mother', 'oh, right, he tortured him since the day he was born and tortured his mother to death'. They're all hypocritical tr*sh, whereas our MC doesn't even take his own life seriously, let alone anyone else's, so I'm strangely fine with him.

[collapse]

It's not very edgelord, thankfully, despite the synopsis. The MC has simply lost his grip on reality, which just happens to allow him the mentality to thrive in a crazy world (along with the Gamer skill, of course). I'm looking forward to seeing what sort of 'hero' he'll end up being.

It's good, it's really fking good.

Psychopath MC meets grimdark fantasy/murim earth is a concept I never thought I'd hear. Fun story about a guy killing his way to hero stardom. No real big bad or goal, just a loose and ever changing journey.

It lacks plot/stakes since the MC bulldozes everything but it's a really fun ride. The novel lacks a sense of scope giving more freedom to the author as he adds or changes concepts constantly.

This novel is a little unique in its own way.

Spoiler

Although his power is the power of a gamer and it is very common since there are many novel MC's with the same type of power.

[collapse]

It may seem like a generic story at first but the MC is just that good to make you feel that it is different compared to other novels. Especially, the way he acts is absolutely hilarious. His act to become a hero was a bit like the MC from The regressed demon lord is kind.

My only complaint were the misunderstandings. I think the misunderstandings were bit too much, although those were needed to make the story running. I only read up to c50 but I am hoping that it would be nice if the author introduces a character who can see through mc's real personality other than the characters who are literally worshipping the MC like a god.

Overall, it was a fun read and I really enjoyed it. If you like mc's who a have twisted personalities and act like villains then you will definitely enjoy it.

This is a story about a child with a broken psyche.

If you enjoy reading about psychopaths with a total lack of empathy, then this is for you.

Unfortunately, I need to connection with the characters in the story. But I don't feel it with MC. You see, when you're more emotionally involved with these gang villains, that's not what I want to read.

I don't know if there will be character growth, but based on other reviews, not anytime soon.

I liked it. The start is really good and unique and gave me a real rush of dopamine but it than became dull. Blatant plot armor and repetitiveness. Hurts to see it fall off especially with the MC personality becoming more immature and irrational. And you might ask what's wrong with irrational but even chaos and evil have a style or consistency to it this didn't. Well thats my 2 cents.

I won't rate it as it is just chapter 1

Wow the MC is s*upid and somehow lacks the capacity to feel anger, He follows all his fathers orders even killing a love one, and rather than going back for revenge he runs away.

The MC even knows the concept of death, He kills an ahjussi who helped him to get his mother back because his fater told him yet once he got a game system forgets about it like what? Was his mother just an excuse to finish his fathers orders.... more>> He is just a lunatic from birth.

He is not an evil MC. He is a chaotic s*upid one. <<less

The big selling point for this story is that the main character is an insane psychopath. He sees the world as a game and uses that to rationalize the evil things he does. In his first life, he played like how most people play GTA or other sandbox games, doing whatever he wants and killing people haphazardly. In his second life, he decides he wants to play at being a hero instead.

The story has some interesting parts, and the world the MC resides in is cool. I don't see a... more>> lot of books that mix the isekai fantasy with modern times and do it well. But it does blend nicely.

The biggest selling point here is also the biggest flaw, how mu*derous the MC is. He says he is going to play as a hero, but it doesn't feel like it. It more feels like he is a chaotic neutral character who killed all the good characters in his first run and is just deciding to kill the evil characters in his second. Mu*der is his answer to everything.

Spoiler

The very first time he 'saves' someone, he has no idea what to do. He figures he just has to kill the bad guy, and if that doesnt work, he thinks he should just give up and kill everyone else.

[collapse]

He plays games, but he admits to always skipping dialog, so he has no idea how other people operate. This adds on to how psychopathic he is and adds to the dark humor, but it also makes him very one dimensional. It is why there are times where I find the brutality just plain boring. <<less

There are two points that make this novel lose out on a lot of potential: the MC is a jaded gamer, the world is completely on crack to support him being so jaded.

The MC being a jaded gamer, he doesn't care about anything but completing quests. If it doesn't involve killing, he finds it a hassle and can only finish it due to luck. His brain is as dense as a block of cement, but rather than describing him as an evil, unsympathetic prick, he is merely too jaded on... more>> the "game" to even bother acting or anything else for that matter, turning him incapable of processing anything outside his immediate rewards.

That people who come into contact with him can't detect his abnormalities all comes down to a series of far fetched misunderstandings. Good characters are either utterly fooled by his psychopath behavior, or an egotistical villain like everyone else.

You can't count on MC for anything outside of killing. The companions he managed to acquire are force-bound by his skill to never betray him. That's right, he doesn't get people in check through absolute power or elaborate schemes, it simply gets handed over to him to keep up his apathy towards all things unrelated to mu*der.

The only interesting thing in my opinion are the misunderstandings and reactions about it, but inevitably the world has to be completely on crack not to notice his evil disposition. The guy legit doesn't try to hide it and doesn't care about anything. The only time he manages to hide his disposition without sheer luck, it is because his only requirement is to stay put. <<less

It's really funny, a guy sees the world as a game and so does what any normal gamer would do. Then he ends up restarting and decides to try the hero route instead for some variety while still being a gamer. One out of context example of the things he does is building a child army and then teaching them that teabagging is praying for peace for the dead. If that isn't enough to make you read this, there's obviously something wrong with you.

I can't give it a 5 because... more>> there are a few rather annoying things that admittedly begin to take away from the experience. He's constantly railroaded into being a good guy, and so far there's only a single thing he's done that I'd consider evil (and even then, the ones he harms turn out to be evil anyway). The other thing is the fact that he has absolutely no s*x drive whatsoever, but it's a harem. That'll probably change later on, but so far it's irritating. The final thing is that the recent chapters have been focused on probably the newest harem member, and she's annoying so far (generic hero type).

Overall though, I highly recommend reading this as long as you like chaotic evil / chaotic neutral protagonists. If you like the wimpy "don't kill bandits" types of MCs then you'll dislike it, but why are you even looking at a novel with the evil protagonist tag in that case? <<less

This is a really enjoyable story. At first, I thought it would be the usual goes back in time and starts over cliche/generic story but its actually really good.

MC is absolutely psychopathic but not crazy to the point of losing common sense while still being detached to reality in some aspects. He also doesn't have the sense of humanity to actually save or help others unless it is beneficial to him.

The misunderstandings are a bit much and kinda unbelievable but its still pretty funny in a way.

Spoiler

In one scene, he was literally soaked in blood from head to toe after massacering an entire group of terrorists in a really brutal fashion but somehow, a majority of people (especially a female officer) misunderstood that the reason he was acting in a way no normal hero or person would ever do was coz he was just an unhappy, miserable child who believed in upholding justice (which is super far from the truth)

So yea he still somehow managed to convince everyone he was a hero despite the fact he literally slaughtered an entire group of people mercilessly.

[collapse]

Its not really a story for everyone but if you enjoy a chaotic evil MC who doesn't follow the norms of "heroics" and/or humanity then I think you'll like this.

Its really interesting and hope see how far the MC could go on this quest to being a "hero". <<less
