Grace, the third prince born in a country where force is used in a turbulent world, has been given a non-combat power gift called “World Library”.

Grace tries to explain his usefulness by using the knowledge of “World Library”, but he continues to be ridiculed by being compared with his two older brothers who have excellent fighting abilities such as “Kensei” and “Masei”. After continuing, he was banished to the undeveloped land.

Grace was forced to cultivate in a land full of demons with a few companions, but his fate changed drastically when he met a girl lying asleep in the ruins.

“Is this a golem?”

“I’m galatea … not a golem, a robot.”

He learned about the existence of knowledge from another world by touching a girl who calls herself a robot. As a result, He was able to know the knowledge of another world.

In this way, he mixes the knowledge of this world with the knowledge of a far more civilized world, mass-producing rifles, developing agriculture in ways that were unthinkable in the past, and the new Mythril alloy. He created metal and developed his territory at a non-standard speed, starting the “Industrial Revolution.”

It should be mostly what you'd expect from a JP exile type novel with that description and a male protagonist. If you don't know, as usual, the exile part at the start is idiotic, then the main character meets up with the group of people who already believed in him and meets a girl who affirms him and can help him unleash his true potential, etc.

My main issue with the novel was that ... more>>
Spoiler

it seemed to me like he should have been able to use the skill "World Library" to learn how to use the magic and combat techniques in the first place, but he never even tried to look up training methods. He had a potential teacher to help him understand the information and training methods, too, and someone who could craft the items he'd need, but he never even considered improving himself to prevent his impending exile up to the start of the novel.

but that's also really common to the genre, or rather, it's common for web novels in general.

A generic novel in a genre that has a lot of weak points, but if you skip the exile part and assume they explained the problem I had in the spoiler, it should be okay. <<less

I'm expecting good things from this series and it's not bad so far. One thing I have to correct is
Spoiler

It was clearly said on more than one occasion that the MC has zero magic power and no aptitude for both swordsmanship and magic

[collapse]
Just hard work won't solve everything. I really hope the rifle as mentioned in the title makes a grand debut.

It's been great so far, it's an exile kind of story, so there's the usual tropes and cliches for sure, but there's also some stuff that's more unique. The MC is fantastic, I found, he's super strong, but also incredibly weak at the same time. Supporting characters are all cool and have very important roles, it feels like everyone contributes to the story, the MC isn't just singlehandedly making change.

Characters all evolve and grow as people, MC included, as the story progresses, they learn from experiences and grow as people,... more>> building their resolve and determination in a natural enough way that it feels amazing.

A big point that I love is how the MC isn't always just handed everything for free. He earns the achievements and victories he gets, he suffers losses, he has to rely on his companions to struggle through situations. And unlike every other series I've read with modern technology in a fantasy world, it feels like the modern tech fits into this one much more seamlessly. Instead of feeling out of place things are adapted to be a neat blend of modern and fantasy, and modern knowledge doesn't always work like you'd expect, because it comes from a world with no magic, and is used in a world with magic. This leads to stuff being familiar enough that it feels comfortable to what we know, but still leaves a bit of mystery and excitement as to how the fantasy part will twist these familiar things.

It's been really good so far, with very few issues I could complain about, I think most everything has been explained really clearly; like the MC is weak because he was born sickly and weak, he doesn't have the physical strength or dexterity to apply any techniques he could learn, he also has nearly no magic power so magic's impossible too. So even with the appropriate knowledge of the technique, he can't make use of it properly.

The one real plot hole I haven't seen an explanation for is Bowman, his dwarf companion. Man's an absolute god, he's way too smart and knowledgeable, like crazy isekai MC levels of cheatness.

I'd absolutely give it a read, it's not perfect by any means, but it's been a super fun read so far and I'm eagerly awaiting more chapters. Between the MC and supporting characters there's a truly fun and interesting cast of characters, that all feel impactful and important; and the MC's personality is badass, so no worries about the typical passive JP MC.

Oh, and also the translation is fantastic. If you didn't tell someone they'd never know it wasn't written by a native English speaker. <<less

Handicap, as always. For whatever reason, the 3732345th son of coundukekingemperor. Can he just be the 1st son of the king? You know for "novelty" sake.

Seemingly omnipotent power. Suits whatever the author needs. It's not fun to read something that just pops out of nowhere, it's fun when you've established parameters, which you can't do if your power is virtually omnipotent.

The enemy had little to no gravity. I absolutely hate this typical Japanese dragon killing. Ancient hyper ultra dragon was just dead like that. Take some Korean novels for example,... more>> dragon was such an extreme powerhouse, it's a f*cking walking disaster that brings gravity to your story. There're enemies you can't kill, serve as a good parameter, and bring greatness to the story.

I don't understand what this novel trying to become. Magic, gun, robot. Just how much convenience this story needs. Yeah, need that to patch some s*upid amount of logic error later.

So yeah, it's a typical Japanese novel. With no added value compared to the others. <<less

I read it until I caught up, and then felt no desire to keep reading after a few chapters. It's incredibly generic fantasy with MC who gets modern tech building a city. It's not awful, but there was so little of note I could barely remember the state of the story each time a new chapter came out. I just got bored and moved on to more interesting novels.

The characters and plot are exceptionally simplistic. Very matter-of-fact. It does avoid some tropes like the romance actually develops instead of being eternally denied, but yeah, might be really good for younger readers like 12 or so? Kinda at the level I'd expect from a 12-year-old writer.
