The story starts off with our evil MC dying in the street, being found the blind female saint of the previous Hero party. Brought to her house in the slums, he learns more about her and finally begins to regret his life at the end. After some rough events, he makes a promise using his power, which lets him make an oath in exchange for incredible power, that he'll protect her in his next life. Que regression.

So begins a story of the romance between our two main characters, which has... more>> a surprising amount of comedy due to the MC's complete failure to recognize that the FMC is now an innocent teen girl being looked after by a handsome older guy. The romance itself is cute and funny, though I feel the jokes are a bit overused sometimes, and the side characters tend to be quirky weirdos. However, I must admit that it's the worldbuilding that really interests me, with a good church with extremely mysterious gods and lots of political tensions over the new Saint. The MC didn't pay attention to all the stuff going on in the rise of the demon king in his last life so there's lots of confusion on what really happened last time.

Overall, a good story with lots of mysterious elements and good romance. <<less

Seem pretty decent at least. There are insights we can learn and apply to life as we follow on to the story.

However, I want to nit-pick on the parts where things/conversations get rather dragged for too long. Boring ones that feels like a waste of time. The author may have done that in order to establish the impression of a certain important character, but it's taking a toll on my anticipation and interest to the progress of the story.

Also, there had been [many] times I got frustrated about the... more>> MC and FL and soon realized this isn't my cup of tea, hence my reason for dropping this. Anyway you should still give this a try.

As for the romance, well I could say that it is the classic approach when writing romance. I thought the author would put a trill but no:')

Ps: In our current society, there is this derogatory term called Simps and it's hard not to associate the MC with that. You might say it's because of how he was made as a character but it's still hard to deny. <<less

It's a pretty good novel. At first its confusing but after a few chapters you will enjoy it. It also has some funny scenes which I will mention in the spoiler below.

Spoiler

The saint has an unrequited love for the MC so far and there was a chance for a date which was indirectly asked when the MC said that he would go to the library. The saint wanted to go the library with MC to develop feelings with him. The reason was "

Library date! Spend time reading a book in a quiet place! Then he fell asleep and leaned his head on his shoulder!"

When the saint asked to follow him the MC was hesitant to remind that she was blind. Lmao, she was so was so caught up in her delusions that she didn't remember that she couldn't read.

The story started off well and the MC and the mail lead has a good chemistry.

Though the interactions are good, sometimes it feels a bit too dramatic.

The story's main focus is romance and though there are fight scenes, they are not much flashed good.

... more>> It's somewhat funny sometimes and sad at some moments, so it's blend of both

Character development of the MC is remarkable, as he changes his poin of view of the world by seeing the saintess.

Also he will to protect which he didn't do last time is also flashed out well.

The plot is also a bit mysterious in a way that lures us to read more chapters.

As the story is more focused on romance and repentance it will sometimes looks boring despite that it still keeps it's pace and blends sorrow and romantic scenes greatly <<less

I recently started reading Regressor and the Blind Saint, and I have to say, it has been a rollercoaster of emotions. The opening chapters were definitely the peak of the novel, capturing my interest and drawing me into the world of the two leads. As the story progressed, I enjoyed watching the main characters grow as individuals, especially the male lead becoming more human and emotionally connected.

However, there were moments in the novel where I felt that certain conversations dragged on for too long, affecting my anticipation and interest in... more>> the story's progress. I understand that the author might have done this to establish the impression of important characters, but it did take a toll on my reading experience.

Speaking of characters, the male MC seemed to turn into a major simp at times, constantly apologizing and lacking depth in some interactions. While this wasn't my favorite aspect of the novel, I could appreciate the character growth and development over time.

I was initially captivated by the prologue's serious tone, and I must admit, I was somewhat disappointed by the lighter-hearted main story. That being said, the romance elements were well-executed, and I found the humor and unforced nature of the relationships to be refreshing.

The world-building in Regressor and the Blind Saint is a standout feature, with a rich and immersive setting that adds depth to the story. I also enjoyed the supporting characters, such as Vargo, who helped to enhance the overall narrative.

Despite some of the criticisms I've mentioned, I believe that the portrayal of young adults facing challenges, learning about themselves, and growing throughout the story is both relatable and realistic. This aspect of the novel resonated with me and kept me engaged.

In conclusion, I can understand why Regressor and the Blind Saint has received mixed reviews. Personally, I found the romance, character development, and world-building to be enjoyable, even though some aspects of the story could have been improved. As with any novel, individual preferences and tastes will ultimately determine whether a reader finds it to be a masterpiece or a disappointment. <<less
