As a person who transmigrated into a novel written by himself, Qin Kaiyi experiences a huge pressure and burden.

Even more so, he transmigrated as the villain and is forced to follow the plot. Qin Kaiyi expresses that he doesn’t want to write novels anymore.

Qin Kaiyi: “WTF. transmigrating into the villain and being forced to follow the plot. Just let it be. Shen Feixiao, can you get the f*ck down from my body???”

Shen Feixiao: “Shixiong, I won’t.”

Alright, actually this is just a s*upid story about transmigrating into his own novel as the villain and getting pushed down by his own protagonist.

My guilty pleasure are yanderes. And, though I obviously don't agree with it outside of fiction, it's interesting to read stories with confinement, Stockholm Syndrome, obsession, etc... If you don't like these things and can't tolerate them, you will not like this story. This story is f*cked up. But, on to my actual review.

I dislike systems in stories generally and this did not change my mind. It's more enjoyable for me to see a character act without restrictions — especially when they have no way to return to their world. I also thought that the system tasks were kind of useless. Instead of saying "have the MC do this to the ML", it would have been better for the task to be "make sure the ML gets to BLANK". That would have given the MC an infinite amount of ways to progress the story aside from abusing or hurting the ML.

The confinement in this novel was not great. First off, we see it in the MC's dream but never get that dream realized. It's such a short part of such a long novel that didn't seem written as well as it could have been. On that topic, I feel like after a while the point of Yan Gu (the MC's fire spirit), Zhang-whatever Pei (rival ML), and the sable were kind of just there as filler characters. There was not really a big purpose to them or true, in-depth character development.

Last, but not least, I was so confused by the transmigration back to the real world. Forgetting that there's a chapter in the midst of this arc where the MC goes back to the cultivation world and then that's never explained or delved into, even in the real world, the ML isn't given any lovable characteristics. I would root for him more if he had more passionate love than just cold obsession. But, I have to admit I appreciated the realistic take the author took. Either way, I think the story is fine the way it is.

All in all, if there weren't so many issues, I would give it five stars! I ate this up and loved all of it. There wasn't really any lulls or parts where I felt the plot dragged, though I feel it could have been shortened. Still, would recommend to people who have this taste.

I felt bad I give this novel 3*. It wasnt that bad tbh, but it left bad tastes in my mouth. This novel is definitely BE imo.

The characters are ok, I dont feel like theyre bland. MC is consistent in his wishes to go home, and he cant break out of his character. But as a normal modern ppl, and the author, he feels pity for the ML, thus he supported him in secret, not knowing that this is what triggers all of his future misfortune. I felt so sad... more>> for him. Honestly at the end, all I wanted is for him

Spoiler

to kill himself/su*cide and get away from the ML, teaches the ML that not everything can go the way he want.

[collapse]

ML is def crazy. He is the real villain in this novel. He's not that kind of yandere you'd like.

Spoiler

Its really not love imo. And even the ML acknowledges it to his junior sister, when he said "its not abt like, but he cant live w/out MC", bcoz MC saves him when he was at his lowest. He is obsessed bcoz MC always leaves him after MC saves him. He wants to control MC, and thats what he did. He forced MC to accept him through confinement, threatening MCs family and friend, and manipulation. MC was literally FORCED to accept him. MC was depressed, traumatised and fear him. Even in the other world, he still doesnt change.

[collapse]

Its BE becoz the MC and ML got together in the end, since the MC doesnt love the ML.

I can accept reading abt a heavy yandere ML like (picked up by the protagonist of a tormented MC novel) where the ML is really crazy even till the point of r*pe and confinememt, BUT, only if the MC LOVES the ML back. And the MC acknowledges what the ML is doing. But in this novel, MC doesnt loves the ML until the end (where he succumb and accepted the ML).

Tbh, Ziyang Pei makes a better yandere ML candidate then Feixiao.. At least I feel his sincere love towards MC. Feixiao? Only obsession towards things he cant get/control.. <<less

Offensively mediocre. I couldn't even make it to the parts other people hated because the beginning was so tedious. The MC is disgustingly bland and unintelligent. He is supposedly a decent person, but also beats a child half to death to further his own interests. The writing and the characters are equally reprehensible.

Spoiler

eroticising r*pe and confinement

[collapse]

type novel.

With standard CEO/yandere!ML and average-otaku!MC.

Now that's not the reason for the low review, if we want to talk about the plot, the novel is really about inevitability. A sense of inevitability that the MC changed the plot intending to do good, but essentially walked to his doom step-by-step due to his own choices.

Spoiler

In a way, the novel is saying, "don't try to be a good person cause your ending will suck anyway lul"

[collapse]

So anyway, the only thing I have to say about this novel is, at least it doesn't try to make the MC fall in love with the ML after all the torture/rape/etc.

Spoiler

Truly not sure what statement the author is trying to make here.

Telling us that it's ok to be r*ped/stalked/chased by a crazy dude as long as he's rich and handsome?

The ML never repents for his behavior and the MC isn't strong enough to resist, the end. Lol

[collapse]

Woohoo?

Now the weird peppering of 4th wall breaking / modern mannerisms and colloquial speech in the cultivation world (that nobody apparently comments about) / the endless plot holes (seriously every other sentence in the world mentions the founder of the sect Xu-something and literally the mystery is never resolved or mentioned again) -- basically nothing else can redeem this novel quality (even the supporting cast are pretty simple and lack fulfilling backstories).

For much better worldbuilding, storyline, and similar style angst (but executed a million times better), I recommend [Rebirth of the Supreme Celestial Being].

I would say the author has a fetish for a specific relationship type and archetypes they had to force the characters into in the end.

The only reason this is 2 stars is because the translator did a good job on the translation. Novel itself was just not worth reading imo. <<less

This is prob my my first review of a novel ever. Because I actually enjoyed reading the novel until the very end.

I thought the story character development was kinda good until near the end.I thought the character development is good because you can clearly see the MC thought process and how he thinks. MC is just trying his best but always end up getting f*ck over. As for the ML it was also understandable how he turn out. I just cannot stand that ending.

my other complain is that it's... more>> not even a love story!? It's prob more of a story of obsession and possessions. I think the most romance you can get is prob the side characters showing hints of crushes to MC but tht about it. The only healthy relationship MC had was with a friend and tht kinda sad tbh. there are moments where you as a reader realize "oh right this happen because the MC did this" but that was kinda thrown out the window near the end. The MC just accept everything????

I mean the ending made a bit of sense but I just feel like an ending like that wasn't satisfying to read. It didn't feel like a HE or a BE. The ending is more confusing. I think it could've been better if
Spoiler

the MC and ML died and cut tht off there. Would've been a way better story that way.

[collapse]

not only was the ending confusing but it kinda gave you the choose your own cannon story?? Lol idk thought tht was kinda weird but Watever.

it was a good read! I genuinely like the story but it became bad :C <<less

The story was okay, the pacing was good and interesting. My sole problem: is this... A love story? (Also, I wouldn't really call this an HE, it's more like a BE that was halfway there to the HE before the author ended the story) I've read my fair share of novels with disturbing themes and questionable moral standards here, so it's not the r*pe itself that bothers me as long as there is some clearing of misunderstandings and proper relationship development afterwards. By the end it seems to me that... more>> their relationship status kind of just abruptly ended at the MC still mentally scarred by ML, doesn't really love ML though cares about ML, while the ML still hasn't resolved his misunderstandings of MC's motives, and is more depravely obessessed than in love. There could have been more development there for the ML and MC to actually understand each other and not have a purely r*pe based relationship at the end, but it's like we're perpetually stuck in the dog blood MC abuse arc with no scum ML abuse and resolution. ML is too self righteous, tbh, and that ending was just strange. The story was pretty good though, I just think it could have been resolved better and been more fleshed out worldbuilding and character wise. <<less

I thought I would be okay reading it, but when I get closer to the end its make me sick and nauseous (I do read the tags and I thought it just a little bit of it and not too much).

At first, its really funny and full of suspense. But as the time goes by, you know... there's no characters development at all and at chapts 60-90+ mostly focus on the r*ape scenes.

Yan Gu and MC really deserve happy ending, for the MC I really want to take him see... more>> therapist. <<less

The first web novel ive read that displays the consequences of r*pe and imprisonment accurately. Top marks in that regards.

The plot was interesting, a bit slow at first but it quickly picked up pace after the "ML" turned 18.

rather rushed and somewhat confusing with the world hopping going on but it was still a satisfying, if extremely sad ending.

Overall the plot is kind of all over the place and pacing aint too grand but its definitely worth a read if you're looking for something more realistic in this type of "romance". <<less

This novel is okay, but I think the author really couldn’t decide what kind of novel it was supposed to be.

If you’re the type to hate all the things this novel is tagged with, don’t read it. The tags are there for a reason.

If you’re all in for the tags, then you’ll probably be disappointed because it’s really only the last 20 or so chapters.

The last three chapters made so little sense even the tl’er was confused and over it

So it had potential. Like for the first half of it I was like oh this is kind of going places and this is kind of interesting. I love yandere’s and all that but this was a step too far. After I finished it I felt really incomplete because it felt like an April fools joke for the last I don’t know 30 chapters.

Also. Yes I read the tags and all that so I wasn’t not expecting it but I was not expecting the Stockholm syndrome even though it said... more>> it I would thought oh it’s not gonna be that bad yeah it was. I feel like I lost a couple brain cells reading this all the way through but I’m not mad I read it Ive read worse <<less

ML is really obsessed with MC. I don't feel love at all.I really pity ml😭😭.I can't blame MC for things he did. I know he also want to go home.

I mtled all chapters and I don't have any feeling after reading this. Not good nor not bad.

Bad points

👉Too many plot holes

👉No romance or dogfood. If you search for romance, get out of here.

👉No sweetness. MC abuse ML and then ML abuse MC.

I've read all the tags, synopsis, and a few reviews before diving into this novel. While the story has much potential, it didn't go in a direction that I wished for. While the back and forth transmigration were pretty funny and interesting, I don't see much love here. While one may argue it's a twisted form of love... just nope nope nope to me. Not all elements of the story are bad, there are funny and cute moments which I enjoyed, the story wasn't hard to understand, but how the... more>> story progressed and everything, in the end, makes it a major NO for me. I think one major point that I hoped has blossomed was love, and it didn't... sadly it withered :') Further, the ending is horrendous.

Recommended for you if you want a brainless read that is about yandere characters and potentially "Stockholm syndrome". I don't really see Stockholm syndrome here, just a white lotus style MC.

Reading this burned my brain cells, totally regret I read this. Not my cup of tea. While there are people who enjoy it, this review just serves as a warning to those who might feel the same as me. (Unless curiosity got you and you want to get killed reading it).

EDIT: I looked at the raws and please, the author labeled the characters as such:

Main Character: Qin Kaiyi
Side/Supporting Character: Shen Feixiao

Now I can pretty much say this isn't really meant to be romance or HE. SFX is not even being treated as one of the main characters. <<less

Considering how things went, I'd go for 4 stars at most, but since all the warnings are in the tags, I'll give 1 more star.

!!! READ THE TAGS! READ THE TAGS! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ THE TAGS!!!

I can't stress that message more than I already have, if you want to read this without checking the tags and go green by the end of it, then really, you should've checked the tags.

The tags for this novel is accurate, the ML is very scary, very yandere, and the things he did was...... more>> Well, as expected of yanderes.

Personally, this is the kind of dark, twisted stuff that I prefer reading in my darker moods, but please do note that it's not for everyone. The story is well-written, it isn't too confusing despite the cultivation setting (as it does, sometimes, make no sense as things get lost in translation or because it's simply not my culture?) And in a way, I quite liked the ML's honesty regarding his feelings. In a way. Not wholly. Uhm. *Cough*

I gave 5 stars, but I don't recommend this for those with faint hearts or in a sensitive mood, this story is filled with trigger warnings at the end, so please. <<less

I've read the tags and some of the reviews so I'm aware of what's going to happen in the latter part of the story. The ML is a yandere, the one who doesn't care if the MC agrees or not, imprison him, and manipulates him to have no choice but to agree to what he wants. He even use the development of habit to make MC dependent on him. And I admit that satisfied a small part of me, the reason I read the story. And of course don't apply... more>> it to rl. The only thing that bothers me is that they don't love each other, but are codependent and can't live without the other. But overall, a satisfied reader.

And, I ship Ziyang Pei × Qin Kaiyi <<less

Chapter 1 - 85:

Wow, caught my interest, really a psychological novel with heavy tags.

Chapter 86-91:

I REGRET READING THIS. Omg. Im really angry? From 86 onwards it became such a mess? Its as if the author gave up on the plot, on the novel. Very very absolutely disappointing.

Gave 2 stars for the fact that more than half of the novel was good. Lost that 3 stars from the ending and the fact that I cant get over how much I regret finishing this novel.

I was pretty interested in the novel all the way up till they transmigrate to the real world. I thought that part was interesting still, and was hoping for a happy romantic ending where they fall in love and love each other normally. But what? They brought both of them back? The system betrayed QKY? The QKY and SFX in both worlds still exists? But like only when the other isnt in their world? (Lmao confusing, ik. If yall read it then maybe yall would know what im talking about) im still highly confused and bewildered. Really hate this ending where it isnt even an ending, its just the start of round 2 abuse for QKY.

[collapse]

Do I recommend it?

NO. Or well, you can read till chap 85 then quit there cuz its good enough.

Is the writing good?

Not bad, but the ending just made me wanna say NO

TRANSLATIONS ARE GREAT THOUGH. Props to the translator for not dropping it lmao if it was me I would have dropped it immediately. <<less

A really nice story and my cup of tea. ML is a crazy yandere, who also confins the MC. But you can not really hate the ml, since his mentally unstability is being described logically in the story. MC is also really likeable.

Suprisingly the story has a little bit of comedic undertone or better to say: the conversations between the MC with the others, escpecially Yan Gu, Zi Yangpei and Wei He, are funny.

While in the majority of the story it has this comedic undertone, in the last chapters it... more>> gets kinda heavier.

I liked also this in the novel:

Spoiler

I also find it really interesting, that some situations are just things the MC has dreamed or imagined. So you get sometimes confused and have to think what was real and what not.

[collapse]

Some people might not like it that the MC and ML openly say that they like each other. Some would even question their love, which is understandable. But the ML was not raised properly and he does not really know how to show his emotions. Even if the ML does not love the MC, the MC is really important for the ml.

And yeah, it has r*pe and so. But keep in mind: it is fictional and some people are okay with some things and some are not. This is totally fine. But before giving the story a bad review you should see the tags and the description. So you have been warned and if you, regardless of all these warnings, continue to read, then you can not really blame it on anyone and only yourself.

And big props to the translator for translating this story! It is also one of the few stories, which I could read again and again.

After chapter 88:

Spoiler

What the hell is going on in the last chapters? Is he still inside the book or is he already back in the modern world? I am really confused.
