Wow, this is so good!! Seriously, first Tomozaki and now this one, we are blessed with good works in the genre nowadays. Characters feel solid and their interactions are hilarious. I think I've always waited for this type of riajuu MC. Can't wait to read more!!

Not really sure what all the hype about this has been in recent years. The MC and themes felt quite shallow and the focus on riajuu vs. Non-riajuu class dynamics seemed very artificial. Like someone who doesn't know how real people interact wrote it. Half the book felt like it was spent on clothes-shopping. All that 'life advice' was a real bore to get through.

Maybe it's popular especially in Japan, since it's almost like a 'how to change from hikikomori to chad" guidebook.

This is truly a masterpiece for me.
This is my first review, please take a grain of salt.

This is one of the best LN I have seen. If you don't like the first arc which is helping the otaku get back to school, please don't drop this LN. The first volume of showing the main male character Chitose who is a riajuu, somewhat narcissistic, and some more personalities that you might not like at first. However, this only shows the surface which the story will develop much much better after.... more>> This series also did a very great job in showing characters' emotions, their inside thought, and things that they struggled with as well as some wonderful dialogues. Each volume has a main girl and the drama surrounding her, which is very enjoyable I would say.

The art is amazing, just google it, nothing really to say.

The characters are all very likable I would say, they all have their own personality, and each of them has a different point of view on things. The good character design leads the story to be more interesting. The development of each character is very good.

Overall, I think this is very enjoyable and I hope everyone should at least read the first three volumes and decided to drop it or not. In my opinion, this is one of the best romances, and dramas I have seen. You should definitely try reading it first, never judge too early.

Thanks for reading! Any feedback will be much appreciated :) <<less

This is really good
at first its kinda boring but each chapter somehow keep getting interesting.
I'll be honest I consider myself as Introvert and yeah I can feel how hard is to break free from your comfortable zone but after reading this LN its really change my mind and decide to change myself slowly from now on.

my other review is probably don't stop at vol. 1 just keep reading until next vol
perhaps Vol 1 doesn't suit your taste but other volume will be interesting.

Honestly, I tried to read this series for the third time and I think this is the furthest my tolerance can go.

The author did a very good job at describing scenes and thoughts using his vocabulary and I was honestly impressed. However, due to being so well done in writing everything, he also did a great job telling us how bad manner the main character, Chitose, can be. I'm not talking about different mindsets or life groups, if anything, differences are the thing I wanna read a novel, to learn... more>> and to experience. I am talking about how his attitude is pretty much being a mannerless jerk (I love characters like Sakuta from Bunny Girl Senpai but not this mannerless kind) when he pretty much looks down on people of other groups, trying to act as he knows a lot and just do whatever he wants to (like breaking someone's home's window without a second thought of what should be done) to achieve his goals. Even worse when he looks at his friends in a way where he can use them (like actual tools/options rather than for helps like normal people). The most disgusting thing about him probably is discussing about one's body behind their back, in an unmannerly way.

The girls are also very well written and I can sympathize their characters a lot, in the way they speak that is very well educated and thoughtful. It is probably too soon to see why they feel attracted with the MC in the first place, as no background story has been told, so I cannot understand and discuss about that part. Honestly, the MC doesn't deserve these friends as he, in Uchida's case, cannot read the atmosphere and just ruins people's work.

All in all, I don't see how this story is being praised as "new fresh view" or "so good", but again it is still too soon for my comment to be valid. After all, these are impressions from the few pages I have read anyway, and I believe they have shown enough for my tolerance to not wanting to read it more, ever again. <<less

Really hard to rate this at the moment as I am unsure if I will keep going with it... If pushed I would rate 3.5, rounding up to 4 stars for now as maybe it just isn't for me.

I kinda want to like it, and I also don't at the same time. I can tell there is good solid advice in the first first part as they are working to reform the otaku (leaving off when they are still in the early stages).

However, the MC just rubs me the wrong... more>> way in just a certain way that I greatly dislike. The idea that you can succeed just because of effort is dangerous. Luck plays a huge role in life. Even in this fictional scenario, what would have happened to the otaku if he had not been lucky enough to have Chitose as a class rep? Or what if Chitose got to him later, say in the third year and he had a year to harden into a hikikomori.

So what if supposedly prodigal status fades by 20. How many opportunities was the prodigy afforded in those 20 years that a non-prodigy would never get due to them achieving more sooner, with less effort? Or what if it was the prodigy who was never given the chance to shine because had no lucky chances or missed out on them (perhaps the actor prodigy chose to stay home with a sick sibling on casting call day and missed out on meeting a famous director for an important role) ?

His advice is good and solid, but isn't without its own flaws. Just because One person succeeded on effort doesn't mean that all or most people will succeed on effort. Or do you believe that greater than half of all people do not apply themselves or put in effort?

Maybe the novel stays good and goes on to reveal more decent to good life advice, I don't know yet.

So far it was well written and well translated. The characters seemed decently interesting. I am just grappling with personal feelings that touched too close to home and it is keeping me from immersing myself in the story. <<less

Its a very fun read. I'm very impressed with the writing so far. The interactions between the main cast didn't once felt boring and are very funny. And the author really knows how to turn it up with the major scenes. Plus the MC isn't just some shallow chad MC. Sure he might look that way in the first volume but he's given more characterization and depth later on. It's the same for the other people in his group. That's what I love about this novel. With the romcom genre... more>> being saturated with the same stuff again and again, this novel felt like a breath of fresh air. Definitely recommend to read and can't wait for more! <<less
