FLUFF FLUFF FLUFF !!

I love this novel so much, their interactions made me kick my feet in the air. I'm not a fan of slow burn and angst so this novel is really my cup of tea- they fell in love fast and there's barely any angst ♡

Though, minus 1 star because the author gave ambiguous endings for the two side couples... like what happens next? I know it's not the main focus but you can't just drop the characters like that... they're not strangers to MC and ML... more>> : (

Another thing I don't like in this novel is the stigma towards disability, it hurts my heart. Would've been great if it's lowered down a bit even though it may not be realistic but c'mon, it's fictional so why not make it fictional all the way

Anyways, highly recommended if you want to read a fluffy novel!

Also if you LOVE this novel, I recommend reading their other novel, "The Scumbag's White Moonlight Stand-In Doesn't Want To Do It Anymore" It's so good! Plus, it's written in the same universe as AMTWDT !!! (There's no official translation, only MTL) <<less

  • chtrs: 7/10 (its quite ok the MC is a cheerful type and ML is the stone type with a disability both are very cute together but I felt something was lacking like the story was meh and the chtrs were missing something thts what I felt)
  • storyline: 6/10 (its way too smooth but I liked the starting its not bad but after that it got boring cause repetitive about persuerers or side couple tht idgaf bout anyways yes could have done better)
  • overall: 6/10

It started out cute I guess, then it became boring and the whole drama with the Zhang Huaite and Chen Xingyu side couple tipped the whole thing to why-am-I-reading-this-thing-again?

After that I just didn't care anymore. I regret wasting my time on it a little bit.

Looking at the 1 star reviews, I can only say people have now zero patience and can’t even read a story with only 67 chapters.

I mean someone who reads 5 chapters, thinks they know everything and writes like 200 words tr*shing the novel? Or the person who thinks ableism isn’t real or ‘that’ bad? Life imitates art here, where someone complains how s*upid the author and the characters are and instead help prove the author’s point. Congrats.

Honestly the novel is 3.5/5 easy. I’d rather rate it higher than lower for... more>> the website rating. A chill, above average read with some drama but not too much, a growing relationship and 2 people giving love a second chance. Good to read for a wind-down after the more high tension novels. Also, kindness isn’t s*upidity and the MC isn’t an idiot. <<less

It has been a couple of months that I read this story, so I forgot many details.

It was enjoyable, but it didn't stand out. It's a fluffy story without any angst. The characters are quite stereotype, but not in a bad way. The usual easy face slapping and live streaming formula to spice up the story. Writing style is simple. If you're in the mood for such story this novel fits the bill.

It's a sweet little novel.

Lots and lots of cliches like drugging drinks and having the ML take care of it and all that, but in compensation the needless drama is limited.

It does have a lot of cliche though. The number of novels I've read with similar plots is huuuge!! It's like this is a 16 y/o's first work. Otherwise it's great👍🏾

The rating is too harsh in my opinion, so I want to bump it up.

I've read countless stories like this (arranged marriage in modern times with, of course, a cold CEO ML) and if you think this is bad, oh boy, you truly haven't really read the brain dead ones.

I think this is actually on the better side. My reason:

  1. It's entertaining for short & light read, especially if you don't expect high level writing. Like, something is always happening and it doesn't drag on.
  2. the antagonists do typical villain stuff BUT compared to other novels I've read, they do feel more two-dimensional. Like, you can kinda understand their thought process, why they do what they're doing and some of them even getting some reasoning. Not just 'Oh they're just evil for the sake of being evil'.
  3. ML is ACTUALLY disabled until the end and not some fake stuff where the ML is not really or it gets healed in some way, which was refreshing to read.
  4. ML is possessive BUT does actually think of the MC, tries really hard to give him the freedom he deserves and not actually put him in a 'cage'. He basically lets the MC do whatever he wants without really restraining him compared to other novels I've read. Of course the story has it's typical flaws but I think if you don't take it too serious and see it as a light read, you can just give it a try.

Idk I tried starting multiple times. The beginning is the cliche married off to a wealthy guy by the family, fall in love, face slapping. The conflicts are resolved within a chapter and there's a bunch of other cliches like oops MC stumbling into ml's embrace etc. I got halfway ish but it just got so boring to read. tbh I found myself more invested in the development of the side pairings.

are just there to let the MC shine like?? The basketball one was so random and I felt like it didn't fit the mc'a personality from the beginning. The relationship between MC and his parents are also kind of ??? Like it seems they're supportive yet absent from his life in general. Idk it was interesting in the beginning but it got meh.

I would usually write a review when I finish a novel but I wanted to write something because it seems that a lot of people where giving this negative reviews before giving it a proper chance.

This novel for me was very good and really fun to read. I read all the chapters (that had been translated as of when I write this review) in one sitting, I honestly did not get bored with reading it.

When I first started reading it I thought that the ML would be disabled like the... more>> buy from "Me before you" but the ML is actually just missing one leg and he also has a prosthetic. Theres a lot of ableism coming from the mob characters but the MC usually fights back and defends the ML. Thats a thing I like about the MC, he is not your usual damsel in distress weakly shou, he can fight, is smart and doesnt need to depend on the ML.

In the story the ML seems to be drinking vinegar in most of the chapters before together and he also makes the MC drink vinegar, its so funny bc the MC doesnt really care at first, but then when they get together they become so sticky to each other its so cute.

This is a really sweet story, theres no big conflict between the main CP and the side antagonists easily get face slapped in a few chapters each, I like that they dont really drag anything around and everything gets resolved in a timely manner, and I like how the side characters arent all evil for the sake of being evil

like the rest of the mothers side family (the cousins) knew that the uncle was in the wrong and they ended up not attending the wedding to minimize conflict, I like how Zhou Ke was smart and left with the money they gave her, it was clear that the uncle was just dragging her and that she didnt want to try to steal ML.

My favorite parts where were MC and ML feed dog food to all the friends and employees, MC and ML have diff personalities when theyre together compared to when they are with others lol, its so funny. MCs friend says its like he has double personality bc hes so sweet with ML but with others hes normal. Their brains are filled with sugar for each other.

The other reviews are saying that they have bad personalities and that ML is so controlling or complaining that the MCs family sold him, wtf why are you guys here, is this your first chinese novel that youve read? The possesive thing eventually gets addressed, and the MC wasnt forced to get married, im sure if he actually said no they wouldnt force him, MC went along with it because he thought that the ML was handsome. I wouldnt say that its an unequal relationship because ML literally gives everything to MC, and the MC can protect himself, so I really dont see how it can be unequal. If its because of the age difference, its actually not even that big and both of them are adult so I dont see the problem.

Regarding the ableism in the story, I think it may just be exaggerated for the sake of drama, I dont think real people would react like that in real life. And its just a story so obviously the personalities are exaggerated for entertainment, and it works because I found this really fun, it had its moments and its not as bad as all the other reviews make it out to be.

Just read it with an open mind and give it a chance, dont drop it in the first 5 chapters and say its tr*sh! Its just a light hearted novel to read for fun, obviously if you go in expecting some literary masterpiece youre gonna be disappointed, its really fun! <<less

Ahhh!! 🥰🥰 I loved reading this.

Though in the starting the ML was rude to MC byr later on they solve the misunderstanding. It's quite good where both MC and ML leave their past feeling and move forward.

Their romance is sweet though ML is possisive but later on he improves.

I am bit sure why there are negative reviews on ML and MC. It is not bad you can read it but I will give 4 stars since there are few flaws.

Read this twice, I like this kind of sweet story about love after marriage, with some heartache and longing involved due to the couple's past lovers.

The disrespect that people with disabilities face is depicted well here, I don't think it's overly dramatic. There are not very many people who are actively willing to love someone with a physical disability wholeheartedly. People who need to use wheelchairs or have difficulty walking up and down stairs face a lot of barriers everywhere they go in their life, from movie theaters to classrooms... more>> and in the work place. I have a sister-in-law with muscular dystrophy that has been in a wheelchair nearly all her life. She faces difficulties in many situations that other people take for granted, such as having a comfortable hotel room where she can use the bathroom easily or being able to drive a car (the modified ones she can use are extremely expensive). I like it when authors create stories where the character's disability has no cure and doesn't get better because I feel like it's more realistic and you can see a beautiful romance where a person with what others consider as flaws still experiences unconditional love. <<less

This novel is very much like your typical melodrama. You know, the kind where the MC (usually a heroine) is stubborn and has a kind heart. And, for one reason or another, they get entangled with the ML -- who usually holds unfathomable inner pain because of a mysterious background. The entanglement usually involves a force marriage (like the case here) or a fake dating agreement (also like the case here) LMFAO. AKA, some contrived reason to force a plain Jane MC to interact regularly with a handsome ML with... more>> great achievements. Of course, due to the disparity in their standings and the ML's cold persona, the MC has to suffer a lot in the beginning, facing lots of rejection and having to grit their teeth through countless misunderstandings. After a while, the ML's cold facade will slowly melt because of the MC's persistent optimism, and will slowly fall for the MC because of her gentleness and uniqueness. Etc. Etc. JKFSJLASF It's a very common script, is what I'm trying to say. Very cliche, as a lot of the reviewers, would agree.

Of course, that doesn't mean that it's necessarily a bad read. There's a reason those teledramas are so popular, after all XD. I'm just not into romance novels of this style, I saw too much of it (I swear, all of the teledramas I watched as a kid were like this.) I might want to read this another time when I'm looking for something simple (I doubt it, but you never know). Anyway, for now, I'm leaving the rest of it unread. <<less

A cute and light read to heal your heart or relax with considerate amount of dog food. Love it.

The story is mostly about relationships of main couple and some side couples. Also, extras are about a side couple.

Can’t say that MC is very immature, just good enough for me and for ML. And ML is quite typical, with his own trauma deep at heart. As you know from the title, he is disabled. But he can walk and everything, using his prosthesis. So we have a healing story hear, where... more>> MC heal ML over time. It’s quite comforting, I should say.

The antagonists are quite disappointing, like they just try to be humiliated mostly.

No big drama or adventure plots. A slice of life style. Also, cooking is not taking a big part, just good enough for me in this story.

I like it. A short, but quite and fulfilling read if you need something positive. I’m in melancholy mood this days so this novel is just right for me.

Charity 5 stars. 4.1-4.3 at best.

It wasn't as brain dead as I expected it to be based on the ratings.

It was quite casual and juvenile, but not as cringe as the other higher-rated juvenile works I've read here.

I was more invested in the side CPs than the main CPs. Tbh their story had a lot of potential for better characterization and development, but it seemed like the author wasn't too interested or perhaps it's the limit of their writing ability at that time.

But overall this an okay read. I still liked how MC didn't transform into the typical stuttering, blushing machine shou. It was almost there though, but I guess the author pulled back and let the MC retain a more distinct personality. <<less

It's cliche, it's cringe, it's a little messy and doesn't make alot of sense BUT it's definitely a light hearted read!

I think you can't take it too seriously, just enjoy the ride. If you think too hard -- that's not for this novel. I think... well there's too many flaws that I eventually just gave up thinking about it. The last cohesive thought I had about this novel was that the extra chapter ended too short, wanted more of the side cp!

There are some elements that may be unbearable, such... more>> as patriarchy and some classist and homophobic remarks. Again, this is a light-hearted novel but I totally understand why these things (casually used as themes) can totally turn someone off. It did for me as well and made my reading experience a little sour. Still, it's fine. I think I can stomach it, but I totally totally understand where others are coming from.

Not the best but -- well, not one of the worst, and it doesn't disgust me. I kind of enjoyed it like how I enjoy dive bar. Y know? Like it's midnight and I need comfort food from a dingy pub. Yeah. <<less

This was a good read, any rating below a 3 I wouldn't let deter me from reading this. It's an easy read with little to no drama, no smut, and many force fed dog food moments.

However, I wondered there the comment were referring to when they talked about MC being naive and immature. It was near the end when I came to my own take as to why.

MC really put the roll of cupid onto himself which I found most annoying with ZH and XC. All the angst that was missing with the main pairing went to the side characters as well as the more problematic personality traits. Hot take: ZH should have dumped XC a second time after punching cannonfodder best friend.

Actually they are not 3.9, they can achieve 4.3 or 4.2 at least, if u are someone who sensitive about '' he is he not her and he just like girl with gander reverse'' this novel may not be suitable for you, this novel really sweet, although it was shonen ai they had many ambiguous scene that I think can be rated as yaoi, the missunderstanding was kind of light and get clear in the right time... I absolutely enjoy it

I love it! This is definitely a pure fluffy novel not much dog blood drama going on. Just puring doting on both sides.

Definitely recommend if you just want to read ML and MC spoiling each other.
