This is a strange novel. It's unique and dark. The author has managed to affect me in ways that are hard to put into words.

Have you ever seen one of those disturbing rennisance paintings depicting hell? It's beautiful in this strange macabre way. The figures are shown tormented in henious ways, and yet it is undeniably art. An artist showing moments of horrid torment in a beautiful medium.

That's what this story feels like. The little bits we see as the story progresses vary. Some parts are mysterious and intriguing, while... more>> others seem confusing and unnecessary. But when the author finally backs up and allows us to glimpse the full image it invokes that same sense of awe. <<less

Delightfully different in such a twisted way.

The author set aside typical plot convenience to ask us "what would the mental effects of all this transmigration and rebirth be?" and the answer to that is "rabid bag of weasels with a god complex".

Our poor MC has relived her plot in the book she woke up in so many times, she's Groundhogged herself all the way to crazy. And we can't blame her.

... more>> She is BORED. And trapped. And going insane from it.

She has lived the same exact year so many times, in so many ways, and with so little change or growth, that she has completely detached herself. No one seems like a real person to her anymore. Nothing is interesting. Nothing is worth doing. No one is worth doing. She's stuck in some isolated, backwards podunk, with no money, crappy food, and strict rules about the conduct of women, especially noble women.

She has lived, f****d, and fought her way through 116 cycles, and every single time, she gets killed once the year completes, and never before. Even if she tries to kill herself, either it won't work, or she'll simply wind up semi-vegetative and bed bound until, finally, the year is up and she dies at last.

Completely devoid of feeling, on her 117th time through, it occurs to her that she chose "love" each and every time, and it has gotten her nowhere, no matter who she tried to marry, or even the rare times she tried being a nun, or even the few go rounds she took the decadent option of setting up harems. She never once tried to get revenge on those who killed her the previous go round, largely because their past selves had no intent to harm her, she tended to prefer avoidance or an alternate route, and in many cases, she had no idea why they killed her or, on a few occasions, even who killed her. After a few rounds, she even welcomed it, hoping it would be permanent. But now she's done. None of these people seem real, she knows she won't die before the year mark no matter what she does, and she is sick to death of being treated like an idiot teenager who isn't allowed to do anything for the past 117 years.

She's going to kill them all.

And to both of our utter shock and delight, she goes through with it. She gets some of that old feeling back, and life is interesting and new once more as she starts with the maids and works her way up, having fully embraced her crazy. There is a bit of a mystery-though: someone seems to be interfering in her mu*ders. Helping her cover up, moving bodies, playing pranks. And the characters she knows so well are all behaving in new, interesting ways at last in reaction to her dark side.

I have no idea who it could be. Maybe it's the OG ML, Sir Raymond, the golden knight she spent countless lives in love with--but who gained his fame and position as a sniper, and who has killed hundreds on the battlefield without blinking or remorse. Maybe it's Dullan, the depressing, misogynistic, goop of a filler fiance, who's like the worst possible Mr. Collins character and sexually obsessed with his far-and-away-out-of-his-league fiancee the MC. Maybe it's one of the many manservants, like Borwen, who seems just a tad too close and controlling for his position. Maybe it's someone completely unexpected, like her dad, or even one of the maids. I cannot tell, and I am so excited to find out. <<less

I love the fl. She's such a badass and she's for sure insane. I love the fact that she acts like a villainess, a mu*derer even. But I hate the ml. He's so boring. He's just like those other heroes in some shounen novels who seeks world peace and blah blah blah🙄 It would have been better if he was also a psycho who would join her mu*ders but no, he's like a fricking gary stu. I also hate how the FL stopped killing people because of the male lead, it's so annoying. I came here because of that but I ended up being annoyed at this shit. I'm kinda liking the priest better if only he wasn't cowardly.

It's very dark in the beginning and midway, the fog will slowly subside and in the end it's very hopeful.

A very complex story with nuance and careful consideration of the mc's mental state and her actions.
Spoiler

It is unknown whether the "ml" is actually the ML or not, and what will actually end the loop. It isn't as another reviewer said and MC stops killing because of the ml, rather at parts she even fantasizes about killing him which is a far cry from stopping her mu*derous spree because of him? I doubt whether me and that reviewer read the same novel. Of course, there is also the possibility of the story following mc's thought of it, and to me that wouldn't be satisfying or good writing. It's like rendering mc's 100 years as worthless AND that in the end she really was a marionette with no choice of her actions. I don't think even with the author's writing I could be convinced that a love where the world quite literally forces MC to be with a man and if she doesn't give in to the Stockholm syndrome she'll loop for eternity, is a genuine one. Well, we don't know of anything at the moment, so I hope it won't go down that path.

For now I have to admire the way this novel is able to subvert expectations and remain interesting and unique from all of its peers.

The writing style is really good. Kudos to the translator!

I like that MC is mature according to her mental age, yet can still act like a child as she wished since she's been in her youthful appearance for a long time.

This story peaked my interest cuz most timeloop series I know is about protagonists taking advantage of the loop and enchancing their skills as they find a way to break out (Okay.... I've only read a few).

Spoiler

The MC here has gotten so used to the same reoccurring events and people, that she always searches for new things to try out. One of the things she hasn't tried yet is mu*der. I wouldn't be surprised that she's on the brink of insanity after repeating the loop for more than a hundred days. And that's why she's started to kill just to relieve her boredom. I put spoiler tag here just in case.

[collapse]

I also think there should a "mature" tag.

4 stars for now because I like the start and the story is still starting out.

I look forward for reading more! <<less

A really fun spin on the trope of the romance novel reincarnator. My only complaint is our girl spends more time thinking about and failing to kill people instead of actually doing it, so it kind of takes the violent catharsis out of the whole premise.

You know how sometimes the story goes like: "and they repeated the same life so many times they went insane" but its really just an excuse for being a broody edgelord 'i already know everything' nonsense? Thats not this story. The main character... is off her rocker.

This is interesting, it is the first novel in which I see a MC go crazy to repeat life, who can be in his right mind after suffering so much over and over again, and the mystery, now what I start to think that crazy or there really is another world.

I liked it at first. It had a great premise. It started out so promisingly. And to some people, it probably still is a great novel. But to me, I think the thrill waned.

Spoiler

I would have preferred Dullan, even though he was a gutless psycho who killed her for countless rebirths because he was frightened she'd leave him. The actual male lead was so disappointing. He's like one of those goody goody male leads that piss me off and he was like the male version of those cliché blonde, innocent, pure female leads who have some random aspect of physical prowess the author chucked in to make them less vanilla. The female lead literally stopped killing people and being the person the readers liked her for because of him.

[collapse]

Also, this might be a somewhat unpopular opinion, but I feel kind of sorry for Raymond's fiancée because I mean it was kind of comically sad the way she ran around like a figurative headless chicken when she started to realise the female lead's craziness. Although she's s*upid and spoilt, I thought she could have done better in another role than Raymond's shunned fiancée who was cast aside like garbage because she was less pretty and her personality wasn't interesting at all. I really would've liked her character to be more fleshed out.

Don't get me wrong though. The premise of a crazy female lead going on a killing spree was amazing and the author really rocked that concept for a while. But it got sour and the thing about Raymond was sad because I wanted her to kill him..

Also, the twist about her mother was seriously beautiful. The whole family is screwed up. Love how she strangled Dullan (I mean almost killed him then locked him in the bathroom when she was like nine or something) and I really would've wanted Dullan and her to be a psychotic match made in hell. <<less

Spoiler

(Im a big romance reader but ngl I really hope she kills Raymond lol)

[collapse]

The FL is a great balance of erratic/apathetic and actually having normal emotional ties to other characters and her life, which makes it so interesting to read to see where she goes and what is "too far" for her. Isella is also interesting, somehow both unlikable but fairly relatable, and I'm interested to see how Raymond gets further characterized since where I'm at right now he's still a bit of a mystery. Same with a lot of the other characters, none are poorly written.

The writing itself is great, the translation really works and doesn't sound awkward. It has a great way of both describing normal things as very gross and gross things as very normal, which really works since it's following the pov of Carynne (FL) and her strange mindset, it's perfectly offputting.

10/10 would totally recommend if you're looking for a story that's similar to the reincarnation FL trope but with its own unique dark twist <<less

The MC mind is so twisted and make the storyline so unique, the ML (maybe) has twisted mind as well, this really draws me in, coz now I am in verge of feeling bored out of my mind reading aristocratic story as such, but this story re-ignited my curiosity.

Thank you for translating this novel, keep it up!

This sounds super good. Just worried about why it's listed as shoujo instead of josei. It also doesn't have a mature tag. Hopefully it's not dumb and disappointing. I want the main character to have maturity and act her age. That would sick af

But I'll let u know the vibes after I read ch1 part 2 cause that's all there is rn

...

The translation quality took a dive after this. It's unreadable to me. I don't know who's doing what, or what's even being done. :/

Now, I've only read the manhwa so I'm unsure about extra details. So far, it seems nice with the touch of mu*derers and mysteries! We don't know who the ML is and the FL is on the verge of going crazy. Although it was amazing at the start, I saw the tragedy tag and dropped this. But one thing I can say is that the manhwa's art style is simply amazing and majestic. Though, it would be nice if someone can spoil what happens at the end...

It's so bad it's good. Like at start I got super annoyed with her and all the world and stuff, but it's very interesting to learn what is actually happening. It's so badly written, female lead is crazy women who keeps reincarnating and has strange ideas but the plot is great I guess. Everyone have their own motives, its not like only main character has ideas, everyone has their own ideas in this one. You never know what will happen.

I liked this story. It has twists that I did not expect at all
The story has moments of laughter, sadness, madness, nightmare
It has everything. But apart from the strong parts, I liked the story because it is very different and I seriously want to know how it will end.

Enjoyable for how different it is from the usual tropes, but I'm not fond of how aimlessly the plot wanders now, so I'm dropping it.

It's a great premise, but I just don't think the author has thought it out all the way, and I don't think they'll be able to stick the landing.

Also, the ML is kind of boring and useless, which really doesn't help.
