Big kudos to the translator for working on this novel as first try, apparently. 5 stars for translation itself. Story is a 4/5 - enjoyable and interesting, nice read, but nothing that really got my heart pumping like crazy.

In terms of romance it's one of the better ones for cultivation stories (seal of approval for this ML) and they are partners and equals in every aspect.

Some things were confusing - I think the author kinda changed some info as they went along - but nothing too big or serious to... more>> be a plot hole that will annoy you.

All in all can give it a shot <<less

Mid at best, imo. Generic. The cultivation system is needlessly verbose as it's often comparing the MC's 'old' system. Basically the author tried to come up with new names for everything but not much is really different. Well other than this new world being less developed. How else can the MC shine as a genius?

... more>>
Spoiler

Quite a few plotholes, rettcons, and forgotten plot threads. 90% of the female characters are the typical *really* annoying cultivation tropes. Mostly they all want to kill the MC over one type of jealousy or another.

Author can't seem to keep the MC's cultivation level straight at times.

Antagonists are seemingly forgotten despite the emphasis on pulling out the roots.

What happened to her grandaunt? Maybe they remember that later?

How she takes care of things at home before joining her Sect is really underwhelming. The Gu family is only mentioned and we don't see them get punished. Her smith apprentice is forgotten. She never hands over the flying magic tool to her family (nor mentions upgrading it like she originally planned to). The 'army' of 100 they were building? Not mentioned even during the short war. Empress gets no screen time. The two clans that were enemies of her family are ignored for the most part. Oh, there is one cousin that spreads bad rumors about the MC in the sect but nothing much happens there. She hands nearly all her money over to her brother that wants to start a mercenary guild for reasons. As in the author suddenly wants her to be poor? She goes from being able to get money or resources freely to having practically nothing. How is being in a sect a good thing?

If you're interested in:

    • Strong, OP, mature, independent, black-bellied female leads that stick to the 'you don't offend me, I won't offend you, if you offend me, I'll repay you thousand-fold' principle;
    • Strong, healthy, devoted love (no misunderstandings, no silly fights, only complete respect and support for each other throughout the novel) ;
    • Xianxia/cultivation;
    • Feel-good plot, just journeying with the characters on their path to the summit;
    • No family scheming, just happy, doting parents and siblings (pretty rare I think in these novels) ;
    • And basically anything in the tags I guess.
Then this may be for you.

I'm the translator for this novel and I started translating as a hobby, choosing only to translate my favourite novels for the wider audience. So naturally I'm giving it 5 stars, but I'm writing this in the perspective of a reader as well. If we're speaking objectively, then yes, it has many flaws and probably will be less than 5 stars. However, I, as a reader with my own personal likes and dislikes, think it deserves 5 stars.

I don't read many of the already-translated novels with female leads in cultivation/xianxia genres because the relationships and romance are often very poorly written. But the romance here is rather healthy. (Edit: That's the main reason I enjoy this novel, plus I like a smooth-sailing cultivation plot without too many ups and downs. If you want good romance with devoted main leads without silly misunderstandings and childish behaviour, this might be for you. It's not the main, main focus, but it's there for people who like romance to enjoy. Especially the ending, it's wonderful!)

Having said that, back to what I said before, it has its flaws such as having a typical cultivation plot, the typical face-slapping, arrogant young miss's/young masters, black-belly etc. It wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea either and some may consider the writing amateurish (edit: not THAT amateurish, but even I feel certain phrases do get repeated a lot XD.) Also, especially if you like more serious plots, this might not be for you. Like I said, I read it for the smooth-sailing journeys of the MCs and a light-hearted plot where I don't need to think too much and the pretty ideal romance. But hey, every book has flaws here and there, it's just a matter of whether you can overlook those flaws and continue reading because you enjoy the rest of the novel, or whether you just drop it then and there. I chose the former XD

Overall, I enjoyed this series and it's one of the very few books I choose to re-read many times for a feel-good feeling. I guess the best way is to give it a try to see for yourself if you like it or not and make a decision then.

I managed to get around half way through before I HAD TO DROP IT. Which is a shame since up to ch 400 it was a pretty decent run. It's just after that point the author lost the ability to keep it interesting.

What this novel is:

It's a Mary Sue plain and simple. The MC is insanely over powered her enemies are practically brain dead, the other characters are barely one dimensional. There's hundreds if not thousands of novels like it on NU

... more>> What the novel gets right:

Well seeing as it's a Mary Sue it had better get that right and it does at least initially. The first few hundred chapters are good fun, the MC is doing all the usual xanxia things and moving quickly through them. The focus here is that she is the focus and is moving things along.

Where the novel breaks down:

The author as you might have noticed lacks originality and once they ran out of scenes to steal, they were at a loss and didn't have anything to write. This was apparent from the beginning where all the scheming/face slapping was just boring. The lack of originality and inability to write complex scenes destroy the novel as the plot moves away from the simple power trip.

Bottom line the author should have eliminated about a 3rd of the novel, tightened up their cultivation system, provided some better side characters./ villains and tried to provide motivation. Still it's not a bad read if you can be comfortable dropping it in the early middle <<less

It’s pretty similar to other cultivation novels which was what I expected. I didn’t expect they would make every male fall for and almost every female to be “jealous of her beauty” lol this still would have been fine but they idk why the author likes to keep showing how in one line they guys think “omg she’s so cruel and violent is she even a girl” and in the next line “but I like it” even the extra like it there is no place for gentle and demure ladies... more>> but all girls are gentle and demure but the MC isn’t she’s refreshing that’s why they like her. When most of the chapters became only about that I couldn’t continue and dropped it. Otherwise so far it’s pretty similar to other cultivation novels good when you’re bored and don’t want to turn on your brain. <<less

Probs a solid 3.8...? out of 5 to me? I would say?

Honestly with a title like this you wouldn't be wrong to assume it's gonna be garbage, because so many stories with titles like these always end up being a waste of time. But shockingly, this story wasn't actually terrible? LOL like... it's definitely a more toned-down version of the 10k+ chapter stories in this genre. I say toned down because there's under 1k chapters (including extras) and it has a relatively interesting storyline that managed to keep me entertained.

These... more>> days I have trouble sometimes even reading past 100 chapters for cnovels, so I was surprised that this kept my interest for so long. Our MC is a strong woman who was a previous infamous cultivator in a different cultivation world that landed in the body of a "waste" girl. There was a divination done when the original body was born that she would 'face a death calamity but emerge from it stronger' essentially; basically an explanation for why our MC transmigrated into her body I suppose. While the worlds are different that our MC comes from and this new cultivation world, she adapts quickly and is able to make use of things from her old world to become strong in this world.

Some things that make this story more enjoyable are probably:

  1. the family is really tight knit and close and loves our heroine. I hate family drama the most like, ABSOLUTELY despise it because it ALWAYS stretches for like 90% of most of these types of stories. But there's hardly any of that here, thank god lmao.
  2. Our MC is strong and independent and overall just a pretty funny and amusing person.
  3. Decent comical moments, also plenty of fun face slapping moments.
  4. MC and ML relationship is pretty even/symbiotic compared to most stories with an overpowered ML and a weak to strong MC
Obviously it probably doesn't shock anybody but like every male the MC comes in contact with basically is immediately interested in her. Most of them though don't matter to our MC because she already has our ML, who she immediately becomes interested in like at first glance. Romance obviously moves relatively quickly for the most part (although I would say maybe slower-ish compared to other stories) but that's never been a problem for me, lmao, in fact I usually prefer it. :P

Overall it's obviously not an amazing, mind blowing story but I still found it very entertaining. If you take it for what it's worth at face value, you'll probably have a good time. <<less

It's engaging from the beginning to the end.

As usual for this type of genres, the power couple can conquer their difficulties and enemies, and barely have a huge obstacles on their cultivation path.

The good things of FL-ML dynamic is they are equally strong. Also, when the ML rescue FL, she will rescue him back. The downside of this story is when the build up is so good, but some was met with anticlimactic arc, also the ending kind of rushed.

Overall, despite the downside, it is a nice story with a... more>> good characters. <<less

I would like to thank the translator for this novel.

i was hooked and I read it in just 3 days. really!!! you're so diligent and im so thankful I came upon your translation.

Guys don't miss out on this novel is very good and I really recommend it.

The development of MC and the storyline is good. Not boring. It's cut when it needed to be cut, not unlike other novel that explains the tiniest detail that is redundant and sometimes overboard unnecessary. I love LMY and MX development of their relationship... more>> and how LMY rise to the top. I love her almost harem which is basically one sided coz those male extras only love her one-sided coz they know they aren't worthy of her. Perfect. Just subtle drama of btches coveting her man but still gets resolved quickly and doesnt drag on.

Overall VERY RECOMMENDED... ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you again modct for your translation and I will look forward to more of your fan translation in future. Keep it up 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻⚘️⚘️⚘️ <<less

Often, the MC is conveniently handed a skill right at the moment she needs it (see Spoiler for details). This is poor planning or bad writing style. The storyline follows a common pattern found in other Xianxia web novels, lacking uniqueness. Events occur abruptly without proper buildup, and the writing style is immature, making it challenging to read a full chapter without discomfort. As a result, I've decided to stop reading this.
Spoiler

For example, the author could've said that she has knowledge about pills in her previous life before she goes to read a pill-making book. Instead, we get a scene where she reads the book first and then followed by her thoughts that it's similar to what she knows. Another example is when she gets attacked by a cannon fodder, then it is conveniently pointed out that she has been working out for quite some time already to condition her body so it's easy to defeat the cannon fodder. That detail should have been mentioned before there was any fight. She meets her brother and acts all confident, it is soon revealed that the brother is aware that she will suddenly change personalities at 15 y/old bc of a divination. Afterwards, the author writes that MC knows about this bc she overheard them talking about this that's why she acted all natural from the get-go. Why not say that before they had interactions? It's so awkward to read that MC just happens to know so-and-so to make the scene convenient for her.

I think this story was quite good. Although the plot was generic like:

    • The OP Mary Sue MC and Gary Stu ML
    • The brainless MC's love rival
    • Everywhere MC went, almost every woman would jealous of her and man would fall in love with her
    • A family who pampered MC to the sky
    • Etc
it's still enough to hook you until the end.

The first arc in Tianling world focused more on how MC raised from being a tr*sh to all-rounded genius. We would find many face slapping in this arc and it's quite satisfying to read. At the end of the arc, there was a conspiracy brewing but MC only managed to uncover it in surface.

The second arc was about MC's life in Guanling world. She was still OP as ever and finally managed to solve a conspiracy between devil, demon, human, sea race, and alien race.

My least favorite arc was when MC ascended to immortal world. There was no new conspiracy to solve so it's pretty boring. And the ending felt just like a summary rather than a proper ending. Also, because there were so many characters introduced in this novel, it's inevitable that many of them weren't mentioned in the ending.

I also didn't like a mild reserve harem in this novel:

Spoiler

It's still okay if it's purely a platonic relationship but some of the men in here really had a deep feeling towards MC, especially Ye Qing Han. From those men, I like YQH the most. That's why I really hope that he could move on from MC but no, the author made him MC's guardian until the end who never married and silently protected MC from the side. I think it's really cruel to make YQH never be a able to extraticate from his feeling towards MC. He deserved a happy ending too.

I think, overall the novel was OK.

I know that im almost done reading this novel 908/970. But I was too bored while reading it. Myself can't bear it any longer to continue reading it. The MC was too OP, the ML was too perfect, where ever the MC goes people will be charm. Powerfull skill, so talented, too much fantasy to make a perfect MC life perfect.

Maybe because I already read alot of novels in different genre but this novel while im continues reading it, I was bored, too bored... more>> and make me no sparks while reading it.

It would be a waste if I haven't continued reading it, so I'll read it again maybe nextime. <<less

This might not be everyone’s cup of tea but for someone like me, who kinda rushes through too many details, this novel was great!

I felt it was rushed at times, especially the ending, kinda wanted to see more of their kids since only the daughters character was fleshed out a little.

Truly got into it for the family feels, her family rocks.

Good xianxia novel to waste time on, if only because the main characters aren't hopelessly annoying (beyond being overpowered of course).

I do kind of feel lost reading it because there's not really an overarching plot, beyond just "get stronger". Which, yeah I know, is the point of these cultivation novels but the lack of bigger picture makes the characters' actions make less sense. They mostly just do whatever they want to do because they're strong enough that they'll pretty much be fine wherever they go.

No idea where the plot's going... more>> next, but I was reading this to kill time so it's not like it really matters. <<less

I don't understand why people rate this novel low just because it's similar to others in the same genre. Literally, it's similar because it's in the same genre of cultivation.

It's pretty standard so far, but I enjoy this genre and definitely expect similarities. Smooth writing and the translation is top notch. The translator actually set up a mini lesson on how to pronounce certain names! It helps a lot!

Transmigrated MC turned tr*sh body into heaven defying. She's is beloved by her family, repays kindness & grudges twofold. Yes, she's... more>> a Mary Sue, but I so happen to enjoy effective and quick face slapping. Note that she's not Mary Sue because she was born that way, in fact, prior to transmigration she was already a very high level cultivator who had experiences numerous inheritances. She just uses those experiences now in this life. She's good w words, which speaks to the author's wittiness.

As someone who digs through many genre for romance in novels, romance takes a back seat here. Although ML comes in STRONG and BOLD because he knows he wants her, they don't often meet yet. When they do meet, the flirting and the intimacy are actually a bit awkward lol. The readers can understand that they respect each other's strengths and intelligence, but there's not a lot of chemistry. I still enjoy them together despite the awkward writing... But out of 5, less 1 pt for lack of screen time together, less 1 pt for awkward writing... 3/5 for romance. <<less

It’s nothing original, like another reviewer said, there is a lot of novels of the same genre with the same backdrop and same development. However, it still managed to get me entertained. The romance is on point and I love that no 3rd party so far ever managed to come between the FL and ML. I also love that the FL has a very loving family - no stepmother/father/ brother/sister or half siblings or grandparents or father/mother /brother/sister/aunt/uncle/ cousin trying to screw her up. That’s a refreshing change.

The face slapping... more>> are repetitive but at least satisfying. Compared to other novels with 2000+ chapters, this one was short enough for me not to get bored. I did fast read a lot of chapters due to MTLing the novel. But for the chapters that were translated I read them all properly.
There also a quite a few funny dialogues and moments in the novel. I found myself giggling inadvertently while reading a few times.

if you are going to MTL the novel, it’s not easy to understand everything especially all the realms of cultivation : (. A lot of details about pill recipes, refining ingredients, etc... get lost. <<less

It was quite enjoyable story. There were all cliches and basics of any cultivation novels but done alright. I quite enjoyed reading a female MC based cultivation novel. I was quite tired of reading ones with good plot but messed up by harem or if there was romance but quite bland. Although the world building and abilities weren't so extensive, there were still many exciting things to explore. The relationship between spirit pets and Mu Yan was very enjoyable. But the ending was a bit rushed. I had hoped to... more>> see more of Immortal World.

Pretty good novel however the ending is rushed, the first half of the story is more cultivation/getting stronger focused, middle half is some conspiracies and fighting still but mixed with lovey dovey scenes with ML. Final part is just a rushed end on living happily ever after. Wouldn't say it's a terrible novel but there isn't much depth to the ML compared to MC, MC herself is quite likeable and her pets are cute.

This is a fun cultivation story with fast updates and a female MC. It is the standard "waste MC becomes OP and starts slapping faces" and it is done well. The MC suddenly becomes talented and gains a bunch of knowledge. This makes her cultivation journey smooth sailing and gives her a leg up over the competition.

What makes this above average is the way that the power level is handled. The MC can obviously defeat her peers but can't defeat adults or organizations. So the MC is careful not to... more>> provoke enemies that she can't beat. A lot of other stories in this genre proceed to then have various powerful enemies appear to force the MC into dangerous situations over and over again. This story does have dangerous enemies that legitimately threaten the MC but rather than bounce from emergency to emergency, the MC goes on adventures and meets people. There are some serious perils but they aren't overdone and the MC is able to strengthen herself without constantly finding ancient treasures and whatever else.

So if you like the genre give this a shot. Especially if you are looking for a female MC. Just a heads up though, it takes a very long time for her to join a school, so if that particular aspect of the genre is important to you, be advised. <<less

it’s especially cute because they already acknowledge their feelings early on but just don’t do much about it yet.

there’s no complex scheming or anything groundbreaking (so far?) but I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for a light and simple story that’s fun to read.
