MC is OP shou with a lazy personality, ML is OP gong with a yandere personality. Ye Jia is a very interesting character-- he's relatively amoral but craves a normal human life. Ji Xuan is... creepy. I would have rated this 5 stars but ML's psycho obsessiveness made me reconsider it into a 4. I'd still wholly recommend it, though, since the translation is exceptional and the plot is hooking.

I had high expectations for this novel but hell no it was boring.

I don't know how many times I stopped reading but continued nonetheless. MC and ML were OP sometimes too OP that I just can't. They basically never suffered much hardship throughout which made the novel a bit how do I say it......... bland.

This novel was fine. Pretty entertaining, great side characters, interesting plot.

There weren't any deep lessons in the story, and what almost killed my interest was the mc's character. The idea of the unwilling hero dragged out of retirement is pretty popular, but I feel like it's so unrealistic. If someone stops training even for a year, they lose a lot of their skill, much less for however many years the MC was out of the game. Especially when survival in those types of situations is usually as much a factor... more>> of luck as skill. The idea of a former legend whose only active skill recently is to skip work, being the only possible salvation feels so unrealistic.

I also thought the mc's romance with the ML felt very lukewarm. I guess I just don't understand when love appears to be only present only because of one person's persistent pursuit and sacrifice. <<less

Okay so here's the thing, if you're not into super OP ML and MC, pushy, obsessed type of ML, slow burn relationship and a very controlling ML, then avoid this at all cost.

It gets a little boring sometimes because of how the ML and MC were so OP that they could defeat their opponents without sweating. Also the writer/author uses the same description for the MC, I mean... do you really need to describe his eyes and hair all the time?!?! lol

Anyway, special shout-out to the gu fish, I think... more>> he's adorable and also to my boy black hand who gets addicted to human technology!

I really can't give this a high score because I've read better ones and I am not a fan of ML's obsessive behaviour towards the MC. <<less

ML: yes he is a yandere through and through. If you really don't vibe with that, then you probably shouldn't read this. Though I would still say it can definitely still be enjoyable for the people who don't like yandere characters; the ML was still very likeable and despite being very possessive and obsessed it didn't feel to me like it was in a way that would be annoying for the people who don't usually enjoy that. BUT NOW, for my people out there who LOVE obsessive yandere ML, this really did hit the spot amazingly, truly, one of the best ones out there. You should totally read it. Boy would

I really liked him as character, he was so loveable truly, you think of him as your baby, even tho he is the most feared ghost ever lmao.

MC: bro I love him so much. Bro just wants to live a lazy and rich life but things keep getting out of control and he, as the only one who can fix them, keeps having to step out and work to the bone. On that note, the comedy aspect was done so GREAT bc of this. Everyone keeps thinking "oh wow what does a mind like the number one Ace thinks about" and then its just him wanting to go sleep and thinking about how to have more vacation days + a bigger paycheck. At one time bro is juggling two jobs and all he thinks about is how to make more money out of it 💀

Okay but yeah, MC was actually so (funny), badass, very independent, ruthless and smart. He always had a way to deal with the things that kept happening, and he lowkey used and trolled the people around him to do it. #Boyboss

DYNAMICS: OH ALSO IF U LIKE TGCF X INFINITE FLOW PLS READ THIS. I talked to a friend abt this and she agreed as well, but their relationship gives Hua Cheng × Xie Lian a lot: if HC was more yandere and XL acted like he acted when he was in his ruthless calimity phase. Okay so yes overall PLEASE READ IT, ITS SO GOOD. I loved the setting of post infinite flow. It was surprisingly so fun and good, totally an original perspective and I personally loved the way it was done. ALSO, READ FOR FUNNY MC AND YUMMY ML. OH

I love stories with lazy protagonists, this was also very good. I liked the story line and the characters as well. The ML and MC had a kinda enemies to lovers energy going on through out the story but it was pretty one sided. The horror aspect of this story was mostly gore scenes but I don’t think it was that bad. I also liked the mystery element that was playing with side characters finding out the mystery and then cutting back to MC finding out the truth, which always... more>> keeps the reader updated. <<less

So, I would so love to rant, but I can't rant at the same time cus my fingers will fall off, but this is an amazing novel. A proper novel that has it's characters change, and explains the details, even with an OP protagonist, you still have background characters that shine through. Every single one of the characters are painted as fully fledged people, and the reactions are realistic, everything that would happen to a real human being goes on here, and exactly how someone would react.

With friends that behave... more>> exactly how friends would, and enemies that are more of a great area than black and irredeemable *chef's kiss*

Everything is so intricate and linked up, and while some parts could get a bit annoying, it's more of the tension and anxiety you feel for the characters. We learn that people die, but we should learn to live for them, and as much as it is a loss, it's also a gain because they give up the strength to move on.

ML is not your typical yandere, he has his possessiveness, and the other... issues, but he is willing to wait, willing to listen, and will never ever touch MC's bottom line, talking much less of going past it. He treasures MC as he is, and we get to know why he loves MC, not just some "I like your face so I'mma f*ck you kind of issue that we see with other d*ck brained MLs. Someone who reached out to him when he was used to rejection, and an MC who is strong enough to say no...🤧❤️ Just wow

And I typically love the powe couple trope, not some weak soft white MC waiting for death. Sorry not sorry you can't get through life as a "salted fish", you have to take charge of your destiny, and no one knows this better than our MC.

So! (I ranted when I said I wouldn't 😭😂💔) No matter the bad reviews (haven't even gone through them), if you've reached this far on my rant, please please please please give this lovely novel a try!!! <<less

I binged read this 🥰 I really love it. The twist and the mystery portion of the story is just right. It pieced well together. No visible flaws. MC and ML interactions are really the best as well. The ghost or horror part is just right. It's scary and thrilling.

Im so glad I tried to read this. It was onmy "want-to-read" for quite a while. People already gave their summaries and opinions.

I just want to say I enjoyed reading it. I just wish there was a smut tag kekekeke

Horror+comedy is one of my favourite combos. Fun novel. Something new and different. MC and ML are equals, so don’t worry about ML ‘taking advantage’. MC isn’t some naive teenager to be fooled. He just has a soft spot for the ML.

im not sure if I misunderstood but it seems like the main antagonist (Mother) didnt actually die? Like she was just banished back to the other world so isnt there a chance that she comes out again in the future? Also the MC turned back into a human while the ML is still a ghost so as always I have my lifespan questions but it wasnt addressed at all in the novel.

Characters: I really liked the side characters. The players trio each had a fun and distinctive personality. So does the little black hand that always accompanies the MC as well as the shadow ghost working for the ML. The story has a fair share of humor and it's all because of these characters.

Main couple: bruh I'm so weak for paranoid/obsessive MLs. But to be fair, even though this ML is very much obsessive he still very much respects the MC. The MC has a very strong no-bullsh*t personality and is definitely the one in control of the dynamic of the relationship. The ML very much goes through a character growrh arc. From the stereotypical i-love-him-so-much-that-i-want-to-kill-him unhealthy obsession, to understanding that the MC is someone he wants to treasure for the rest of his life. And the catalyst for this change is the MC. The ML wants to be together forever with the MC, and the MC helps him understand that consumption is not the same as love.

the ML does try to basically kill the MC at first. But then the MC stabs him in the chest. And then ML was like oh sh*t that wasa bad idea lol.

The highlight of their relationship definitely comes at the climax of the novel, when both the MC and the ML makes a decision that is very much unlike themselves in order to protect the other.

Anyways a pretty short novel, a good read, likeable characters, ending could have been better. <<less

Very good read. The story may look like those cliche nightmare worlds hopping, but it’s not, as per the title it’s about ML who finally get out of the nightmare game and hope to live like a salted fish.. Lol but reality it’s not finished with him. Both ML and MC both are super op. And they have a kinda have love/ hate relationship. But they are super cute. Especially ML act shameless clingy, selling meng and scheming. And along the way MC met all his frenemy along the way... more>> in the real world as the mysterious nightmare world seem to chase him back. I love how the mystery slowly unfold, in every chapters and how the characters background was told in a past memories and how it come to be. All the side characters are cute, even those ghosts, especially the cute gu fish, black hand and A mie. Lol. Even though the story kinda cute in someway there’s also alot of dark side. But it was told in a very descriptive way. So it’s doesn’t have that heavy tragedy feel, (even though the situation is not.) Anyway the translation is excellent and the story and plot are very well written. And look out for the extras, they are extra fluff. Thank you <<less

I absolutely adored this because I enjoyed the plot, the premise, and the main characters and the supporting cast.

Not much romance development however, it felt a bit too incomplete or lacking for me, but I enjoyed the interactions between the MC and ML. The climax also felt a bit rushed with everything getting revealed in the last 20 chapters, but I guess this is also good as there wasn't much useless filler.

I'd still give it a go! Really fun to read.

4/5. I personally am addicted to OP MCs hiding their powers for some reason or another and being called to action which leads to their "secret" being discovered by others as the story progresses. Something about that just works for me.

I read the author's other work "After the Abyss Dragon Woke Up" and liked this one better because the MC was more mature (maybe some of the immaturity went to the ML instead??? Which is perfectly fine). The romance in this isn't too heavy which is a nice change of... more>> pace if you just want to focus on the plot and horror and gore elements.

Also the side characters. I want a gu fish myself. What a good boy. And the hand was hilarious too!

Overall a fun novel to read to pass the time. <<less

Not bad!! It was quite interesting in its own unique way. I like the MC alot because he felt really unique out of many of the MCs I have read before. He wants to slack off and lead a peaceful life and he really was being very obvious about it hahahaha. Whereas for the ML, I personally think that he wasn't that bad...? At first, I was really sceptical about this one but as the chapters kept flowing, I was hooked. The characters are pretty interesting. Love our "always wants to be a salted fish" MC but unfortunately situation demands his action time and again ┐⁠ (⁠´⁠ー⁠｀⁠) ⁠┌ he's definitely strong (reaches the OP threshold) but also has his weakness when facing very powerful enemies.

About the ML, what can I say. Not the best bloke in ghost town but his actions are definitely in line with his character settings. He never said he... more>> was good, he always does things for his own selfish gains yet there's just something about him that makes me soften my heart.

The other side characters are also lovely, especially the shadow ghost that loves cats ฅ⁠^⁠•⁠ﻌ⁠•⁠^⁠ฅ

There were some plot holes that could've been dealt in a better way. Some questions were left unanswered...

also, the main boss, though she leaves the human world after being injured badly by the MC and ML, she still survives and is in the other side of the game world to recover. So the root cause is yet to be uprooted. It's rare to see the game boss not being completely defeated.

There were some unnecessary plot points but overall, it was pretty damn good. The horror elements were a 3.5 to 4.0 at best. Could've executed better? Yes. But I can't write as well as how the author did so kudos for bringing an interesting tale and giving it a life of it's own. <<less

I have no idea why I liked this book so much. I have never read anything like this before, and I picked this novel on a whim. I am surprised at myself!

Ji Xuan was the biggest red flag ever! And I found him endearing!!!! I also adored most of the villains, and the ghosts were the cutest. I'm scared 😨.

Anyway, the plot got me hooked from the beginning, and I never knew what was gonna happen next.

I would not recommend this book if you don't enjoy dark romance and... more>> gore scenes. I'm not easily scared but some parts were a little disturbing. Honestly, the horror aspect was amazing. It was also very funny, although with very dark humor. I guess I need therapy or something... <<less

Very interesting twist on infinite flow premise where MC is the only human in the game to earn enough points and retire to the human world. Despite years of being ruthless and killing in the game, MC still retains some empathy and compassion, albeit being apathetic sometimes.

While MC has gained OP skills, there are hints as to why he is so special and not OP for the sake of it. ML is a yandere boss ghost but his possessiveness is explained why as a fierce ghost.

Great plot with blood, romance,... more>> mystery solving, comedy and translation. Loving both the human and ghost side characters, especially little black hand who is hilarious. Binge reading this! <<less

3/5 stars. The premise is interesting but falls short in the execution. This story took me over a week to finish, which is unusual for this length.

It started off slow for me and I expected it to pick up more in later chapters. But I don't think it ever got to that point of climax even towards the end.

Ooohhhh it's Sooooo Goooood!!!

The Actions and Drama... The Intense Battle... And the slight comedy in betweens... It's sooooo well done!!!

The detailed Gore... The chills of Horror... But with nice touch of some comedy... And the Intense Feelings of ML toward MC!!!

And even the Extras PERFECTING THINGS!!!

The Development between ML when MC are sooo goood. It's Slow... But not the Slow Burn kind of thing. Because ML keep Cling to MC. Though yeah, at the beginning was kinda slow. After half the chapters their meeting and intimacy was steady. Thought become official was much later. But because of that, the slow romance is not frustrating! Sooo Gooood!!!

All the side characters are Great!!! Either human or the ghost, the good characters are Likable and Fun to read!

Anyway everything is Great! The Climax was satisfying... And the rest are PERFECT! d (￣◇￣) b💯ᵖᵉʳᶠᵉᶜᵗ
