The story is slow paced but I like it. The author taking its time to introduce us to the characters and to the world. So far I haven't seen any plot holes yet~ not sure for the future tho.

As at 27th January 2022, Chapter 97

Amazing Slice-of-Life novel transmigration novel.

The MC's personality is refreshing, he is a calculating 'Mad Dog' who steps on others so he himself wont get stepped on. Hilarious and really fun to read, highly recommend.

... more>> In between the slice of life moments, there are plenty of action arcs, which makes for great change of pace.

One Criticism. The translation speed is SUPER SLOW. Roughly 1 chapter every 4-5 days. Its now been 2 weeks since the last update (Chapter 97 came out 8th Jan 2022). This really sucks, since this is such a binge-worthy novel. <<less

Ok so this novel gets 5 star from, its not that there are no fault with the novel, but the fact that it kept me hooked up for more than 500chapter itself proves that its great, in the start it felt like novels extra, now it feels like begining after the end, too damn depressing, overall its fun read, you will find yourself attached to the characters specially MC, translation is good too, definitely worth reading.

slow-paced, but has slightly above-average writing on these types of stories. If you are looking for an abusive MC and that thanks to the power of the protagonist everything turns out well, this is for you.

Well rather than 5 stars it's more of a 4.2 in my book.

The MC really does stick to his character well. He views everyone around him as little children, and when they look down on him he stands up for himself by beating them up using methods that feel cathartic. And I feel like there is a lot going for this novel especially in unexpected twists in the plot.

It's true that irrelevant information is written, but it doesn't bother me too much, in fact I didn't really notice it until... more>> I read other reviews.

And also regarding his power:

Spoiler

yes, it's a cheat like power. But it's not like he is overpowered like Ellen, or has a boring power that is magic control or physical strength boost. Also considering this whole isekai plot is a punishment from Hell, I imagine there are limitations to using the power however the MC wants.

Depending on how the author writes about his power, I can see a lot of ways the MC can become hilariously OP (like one punch man) but similarly if he just becomes too broken in a predictable OP protagonist manner, then there's nothing to do but drop novel eventually.

[collapse]

But rather than the whole fantasy element, it's just fun to see his interactions with the people he created in his own world and how he tackles dilemmas and challenges the world throws at him with his wit.

(Note) Translation quality is smooth like butter~ which is always a big plus.

And to finish up:

I read this novel when I'm bored, but it's not a last choice for me. I still choose to read this novel over many many other cliche isekai stories - why? Because it's fun. <<less

Very good story and very interesting characters. It would have been perfect if not for the author who's very annoying. Every chapter, there would be so much information dumps that are absolutely irrelevant to the plot. I feel like the author included them so that the chapters would be longer. As a result, the chapters are a pain to read especially when the author is explaining abouf useless stuff. An example of this is when the author used almost half of the chapter explaining why there are no swimming classes... more>> in winter even though they can just heat the pool with magic. Author, are you serious? Such a shame, because the plot is really good and almost all the characters are interesting. Unfortunately, the author have a very terrible writing style to the point that I want to drop this. If you have the patience for reading nonsense chapter fillers, then give this a try. <<less

Not bad, It's a common story that execute it's tropes well.

The pacing is slow at the recent chapters. It does flow very quick when binging so you're better off not reading this till later if you're planning to read it.

I really like it. At first, I thought the academy arc was gonna slow down the pace, but once we got there even though it did slow down the pace, the series itself just improve.

I'm looking forwards to continue reading it.

I'm so bad at making a review, but here goes my incoherent ramblings.

There are chapters that can be so painfully wordy but only something barely happens. Something. Yeah. The "Demon prince going to the academy" happened on further chapter than I expected, you know like further than chapter 1. Overall, It's not actually bad that the author used some of chapters for the sake of world building (lmao idk if I'm using that word the proper way).

This review might sound like I'm dissing this novel, but no. I like this... more>> novel enough to write a review about it. But of course, that is subject to change. If it maintains this quality, that would be dope.

TLDR: good read, needs more translated chapters, cool cast of characters <<less

This novel's too wordy for me. It's full of nonsenical monologues and details that doesn't contribute to the story at all. It also keeps picking on cliches but doesn't really differ that much from them. Overall, horrible pacing. Decent setting and story. Good characters. It's just, the word count is atrocious compared to the story progression.

, the MC is cunning and smart but that is the only thing that's going for him like he might have a foul mouth and temper but that's the only thing MC character brings too light. Also they are really dragging the school plot it fills extremally slow.
Well overall I still want more and rate it 4/5 because it's funny hopefully they do better in the future. <<less

This is really fun. No big complains so far, the plot does get a bit slow in-between the prologue and the start of the academy arc, but it's worth it. The comedy is top-notch, which is rare for a fantasy/isekai novel. Translation is pretty good, a few petty grammar errors here and there, but it stays consistently good. Hoping more people pay attention to this, it's certainly special.

This story was both a nice read but also a bit of an annoying read at some parts. For most of it, it is pretty good with a decent pace and good interactions between characters though there is a lot of "romance" or "rom-com" stuff the MC for some reason is oblivious to all of it even though he's supossedly something like 30-40 when looking at his mental age.

The first some 100-200 chapters also feels to me like the author hadn't decided on where to go with the story exactly... more>> like for instance the MC has the ability or talent to potentially gain every single talent in the world which made it seem like he at first was the weakest but had the potential to grow and become the strongest, but nothing ever really comes out of it and he only learns like 1 or 2 abilities while the rest I believe he buys through the system. There is also quite a bit of talk about the MC learning magic early on but because he is demon he can only learn demonic magic so again there is quite a few chapters where the MC mentions how he's gonna learn it from his demonic servants. Again though nothing ever comes out of it and the author never even gives a reason why he decided to not learn demonic magic any more or for as previously mentioned he's not learning other talents/abilities.

So while the as mentioned premise at first seemed to quite a bit about the MC building power and growing super strong the story quite quickly instead starts to focus around the interactions between characters and stuff that mostly happens in or around the school + the fact that the MC is building a harem but in a rom-com fashion where the MC is oblivious to it all. At the same time at first the MC is shown to be in love with his vampire servant but then all of a sudden that no longer matters for again no reason given at all and then way later the author seems to adress it by making up a reason to why they can't become a thing (spoilers).

Spoiler

The vampire servant turns out to be the MC's great-great-great-great-great-grandmother.

[collapse]

Which to me felt kinda forced and like the author was just trying to make up an excuse from nowhere.

Oh and just for the record in this story humans are pretty much always the bad guys/evil side like for real humans are 100% pure evil in this story and for some reason even though their the worlds evil pretty much they act like it's everyone else's fault. (Spoilers on this)

Spoiler

Like the last evil / final boss or whatever is the resentment the dead humans feel against demons and what not cause demons weren't allowed to fight back and kill them so now they hate the world and wanna destroy everything pretty much. Heck even the start of the story is about how the humans invaded the demon world and killed most of them and turned most of the survivors into s*aves while the demons were trying to create a world where humans and demons could live in harmony.

[collapse]

Anyway this is a good read for the most part if you enjoy a sort of fantasy story with a bit of fighting but mostly focuses around the MC and his interactions with other characters in the story. <<less

Finished reading this novel and I had to make review for it so I can digest it's contents for once and all.

The story begin in similar way to a lot of novels that I read but this one really stand uniquely.

The protagonist I like him, he have his good and strong parts and he have his bad and weak parts, he's not perfect and he's not really an awful character to read he definitely deserved a better ending not this bittersweet one?... more>>
Spoiler

(The MC and Ellen reconciled, that what I understood from the last chapters of the epilogue but the process was not mentioned for anyone to verified that)

[collapse]

as for the other characters I can say that some of the side characters got what I think their deserved ending but some needed a more in-depth for their story conclusion.

I wish the author would explain more about the System the MC uses, and what happened to system in the epilogue

and what is the MC reward for overcoming the final event of the story if the life the MC is living in the epilogue is his reward that would be understandable but if the author still have plans for the story to be used later like what is happening with MC children and his former classmates in the form of extra chapters or in the form shared-universe.

I need answers for that.

the story was nice and easy going in the first half it was enjoyable made me curious as how the story would unfold, it gave me hope that the author would make the MC get a happy and satisfying ending after all that work to save the world but after the the events that marks the turning point of the story I wished that I didn't read the novel in the beginning

but I had to read it because I needed to know what would be MC ending, and every character ending, that the author wrote in this work.

I gave this novel a 4.4/5 rating

I wish the manhwa adoption would be more merciful and maybe change some of the story hard to swallow parts or make it more in-depth explained

I have been reading the manhwa and find a small different in the story progress between the novel and the manhwa
Spoiler

in chapter 46 of the manhwa there is a different form the same events in novel, they skipped the part of the story in novel where Charlotte finds a blond hair that belong to the MC in Eleris bedroom and Eleris respond that it's her boyfriend hair, and they also skipped the part where Charlotte tell to MC that Eleris is suspicious that part of the novel happened after they left Eleris shop. In the manhwa however it's been done as they are in the Eleris's bedroom.

now if I recall correctly the when Charlotte and Ellen start to investigate what pointed to our MC identity to be the demon lord was the fact there was blond hair in Eleris bedroom before the need for our MC to come and go to deliver letters between Charlotte and the boy.

what I want to say after all this that maybe the unfold of our MC identity reveal might be different, there the Black Order who can still pull the strings for the Heroines to revel MC Identity or Bertus is the one will reveal MC identity or maybe with what already happened in manhwa is enough point to our MC identity by the Heroines

If I were to describe this novel in a word, it would be "tiring".

Quite frankly, I don't think I've seen a Korean MC who just can't seem to stop lying. Even worse, you want to lie, it's fine, just own up to it, but what's up with the nonstop melodrama and angst?

The MC is, to put it simply, a normal guy like us. He's not one of those genius Korean MCs that can plan hundreds of steps ahead. Nothing wrong with that. Not being an omnipotent genius is fine, why... more>> are you so goddamn impulsive as well?

Almost every single thing he does is borne entirely out of sheer impulse and emotions. And then once things spiral out of control, he freezes, angsts around, and then promptly runs to nearest bigwig to hide behind them. Short of the few occasions where he actually needs to fight something to get a new upgrade, the above paragraph can easily summarize every single thing he does until chapter 600 or so. Every single time. There is absolutely nothing he does that is not s*upid, emotional or brain dead, and every single time will end up with him running to hide behind someone else's skirts in one way or another because he failed to think about the consequences of what he did. Then there's the lies and melodrama misunderstandings. Absolutely non-stop, to the point where you have to wonder if he has a complex of some kind or if he just plain ret*rded.

Got an assassin after him? Keeps quiet about it, driving everyone else to worry about him and take their own action. Resulting in an absolute cluster f*ck where everyone is doing their own shit, and at the end, when they all bump into each other at the end, they get angry with each other because, "I don't want to put you in danger!" and then arguing and angsting at each other.

but hey, all of them were apparently okay doing solo su*cide missions up to that point.

Wtf??? The entire arc could have been resolved 5 chapters earlier if someone just said one s*upid sentence rather than being a self sacrificing drama queen or king and then get angry at everyone else for doing the same thing they were. Don't even get me started on how all his lies comes back to bite him in the bu*t once everyone finds out he's the demon price, and voila. More angst. Boatloads of angst. And melodrama. And not a single drop of goddamned foresight or critical thinking to be seen.

If he had just stopped to think or stopped going brain dead every time a problem cropped up, this novel would've ended in half the chapters needed. <<less

The author got lost in the sauce halfway through and salvaged it decently in the end, but inevitably lots of stuff slipped through the fingers even with 20-odd chapters of epilogue. It was a good read, kept me clicking for the next chapter. The biggest flaw ultimately is the mood of the story stayed monotonously depressing for the last 300 chapters—even though it was a striking mood-shift in the beginning, eventually you just get sick of it. He just laid the sob-spread on thick and it was just too much.... more>> People get bored of the same thing, there's no variety on this toast anymore! We need some jam and sprinkles too!

To sum it up, I would recommend this novel. It has its flaws and plenty of loose ends but still presented a gripping story and left me satisfied. <<less
