After waking from a car accident, professional esports player Ye Shaoyang found himself transmigrated into a mystifying ABO world where he was living as a noobish streamer.

In order to support himself in this new life, Ye Shaoyang decided to return to his old job and climb the ranks in the esports world. With his outstanding talent, he quickly secured a contract with a prestigious club.

But on his very first day with his new team, he unexpectedly presented as an omega right in front of the team’s captain Chi Shuo.

Chi Shuo took his new teammate to the hospital for an examination. Afterwards, the boy looked up at him with a sheen of moisture in his eyes. The corners of his eyes were red, and his voice was hoarse as he rasped, “Captain, the doctor says I’m allergic to suppressants. Can you help me?”

“…help you how?” Chi Shuo asked.

Ye Shaoyang simply turned his back to Chi Shuo. “Just give me a temporary mark. Bite me here, thanks.”

Chi Shuo’s expression gradually crumbled.

What was with this omega?! Was a mark something you could hand out so freely?!

Netizens:

[I heard Team Tianhuan’s new teammate is an omega!] [Is he going to play support? Everyone, please be sure to take care of your sweet, delicate, adorable new omega support!] That was the buzz, right up until Ye Shaoyang demonstrated his explosive prowess by single-handedly taking five kills in a competitive match.

Their opponents:

[Sweet? Delicate? This is a demon lord, isn’t it?] [He killed me enough to break my brain. I want to uninstall the game!] [Even if we lose the battle, Ye Shaoyang must die!] [Target that omega! Show no mercy!] It’s time to get to know an omega with flashy and extraordinary skills.

Who says an omega has to be sweet, delicate, and adorable? This omega has the power to blow up the whole league.

For those who are on the fence on starting this novel I'll definitely say to give it a go. The author has got a good track record of completing the serialisation of her novels and the translator is also consistent, of high-quality and completes the translation

I'm absolutely in love with this novel! It's very realistic and I just love how the novel is written in general.

I'll just briefly list out some plotlines that the author has done well:

- ABO/Romance ... more>>
Spoiler

The alpha Chi Shuo (ML) isn't overbearing and in fact, he seems more like those cute blushing ML. I love how he would unintentionally pamper Shaoyang (MC) on multiple occasions like sending a huge red packet (hello sugar daddy) but realised that he didn't treat his teammates the same so he ended up sending them one too. And how his thoughts would quickly spiral and end up planning for their future as a couple together.

The AO relationship seems healthy and consensual for now. One line that really touched me was:

'Chi Shuo finally understood that his attraction for Shaoyang had nothing to do with whether Shaoyang was an omega or their mark. It was because Shaoyang was the one who understood him the most in this world. He was an irreplaceable existence.'

As the author has mentioned, the esports plot would take up the bulk of the novel and the development of the relationship should be more towards the end of the novel.

ABO world does have some stereotypes but it isn't discriminatory per se. For example, an opponent had underestimated Shaoyang because he was pretending to play passively as a newcomer. So the opponent thought that it was because omegas were more passive and docile by nature. But there is no discrimination with omegas being banned from the competition etc. The author also writes about how there's a committee to ensure that the omega's rights are respected in the dorms. In my personal opinion, since the summary does allude to it, I feel like it's actually an aspect of the face-slapping plot so I hope people won't unfairly downvote the novel for it.

If anyone is worried about the ABO dynamic, the same author wrote Accidental Mark if that's any reference for you.

- Esports
Spoiler

It's realistic and holds true to the esports tag. There are no messy relationships going on while they are having their esports career. The esports segment is also easy to understand since the author created a fictional game and all gamers and non-gamers have no knowledge of the game so I'm guessing that the author wrote the esports portion more clearly.

I do like how the team configurations were an actual factor in this novel. His rationale for selecting Tianhuan as his team was clear and rational. There wasn't a convenient empty spot for Shaoyang to take up and Shaoyang's age was actually a factor that was mentioned and sustained. As a 21-year-old newcomer without any known professional training, it was reasonable that many teams wouldn't trust that him enough to make him a starting player nor would they give him a high signing price since he was frankly, old and his performance uncertain. I liked how the author talked about this and explored it well.
[collapse]

- Nationalism/No Xenophobia
Spoiler

A common trope in many esports novels is winning glory for their country and sometimes the nationalism aspect can become xenophobic. While this novel does touch briefly about how China has not won the championship in many years and longs for the trophy cup, it is written reasonably. There might be some parts about 'glory for the Chinese nation' but it doesn't really affect the plot thus far and I am okay with it. There is certainly stereotyping of certain ethnicities like the Japanese players using a ninja character sighs and perhaps some on Korean tactics in MOBA games but it's not malicious. Overall, there's a healthy blend of other ethnicities talked about in a non-xenophobic light as well.

- MTL
Spoiler

please support the author on JJWXC. To read the 'Mtl' equivalent version, copy and paste the Chinese novel name on Safari and there should be a 'AA' on the left top side of your phone browser where the website link is. Click on translate to English and you should be able to see it

I am not sure what happened with the translator‘s website and the dead links but so far the translation was very consistent and of high quality.

What I like about this novel is that it isn’t your typical omegaverse novel with high s*xual activities. It’s the opposite of that and stresses much more on the team friendships and wins mixed with lots of adoration for the strong omega who behaves more like a team captain than his future lover does :)) I like smut but somehow it never deeply satisfies me... more>> such as wholesome stories as this one.

As someone who played MOBA for fun for 5-6 years, I really like way the author explained the game. Like most MOBA, there's the minions, the towers, the heroes, the buffs and some functions.

They explained what the problem with most players now when playing MOBA and that's exactly kills.

Kills not only give you gold and EXP but also take an opponent out of the game for a while making them unable to gain any gold through last hitting and unable to get EXP from minions dying.

The purpose of early game... more>> kills is often to gain a gold and EXP advantage over your opponent but exactly MOBA isn't just about blind killing.

Yes, I'm looking at you fish.

MOBA is a 5v5 game which is a team game but now, most players just like to fight with their teammates for kills.

And tr*sh talk teammates. Heh.

Beating the real purpose of team game really.

Spoiler

I like the MC, he got solid foundation to be honest. The first thing he did after observing everything was be calm and basically try the heroes against AI. God, how I love him. I haven't met anyone who'd use a new hero against AI because they think battling AIs are a waste of time. I can understand his teammates when he used Abysse Lord because I'd be the same if I was playing rank but someone used a new hero which only came out in 2 days. Losing a star in rank could really flip a person out.

First off, this story is an excellent, slow-paced romance that just keeps giving. This was literally a gateway into reading e-sports novels for me. The relationship between the MC and ML is also very sweet.

Currently, the translator for this series has retired. Due to the publisher of the series starting an intl site, the chapters are no longer around. I've started mtl'ing the series, which is comprehendable thanks to the foundation built by the previous translator.

Even if the fellow reviewers, especially rylh, touched on all the main points, I still want to chime in.

First and foremost, the translations are excellent. Thank you, 78zaoTL for you effort. I read your chapters every morning. The more the story advances, the more hilarious it gets. I'm even stalking jjwxc daily for updates... without understanding Chinese.

To address some concerns:

  • Yes, it might be slowburn, but the story certainly does not lack scenes of the MC & ML interacting with each other. They are not only teammates, but also roommates, so they spend a LOT of time together. Even if I'm a big fan of couple development (meaning I prefer couples to form early in the story and then face all the challenges together with a lot of PDA thrown in), this kind of slowburn does not irritate me. The MC is seriously impressed by the ML and respects him a great deal, while the ML is super attentive and dotes on the MC from the very start. And, well, they engage in PDA waaaay before they themselves realize what exactly they are doing and why.
  • Indeed, if you are a gamer, you might find "inconsistencies" in the gameplay. But hey, I find it actually pretty charming - it gives the author more freedom to play around with the heroes and flex their imagination, and its super fun to read.
  • When it comes to the CP being OP, I have to admit; I tend to watch sport animes (Baby Steps, Kuroko no Basuke or Haikyuu to name a few) so strict sports realism in terms of skills and what's actually humanly achievable is not what I had expected anyway. The MC Ye Shaoyang is really inexperienced in everything else besides esports, so he really isn't a Marty Stu... Plus this is an a/b/o world. He is totally out of his depth there. ROFL
Obiously,... more>> there are certain events - my own novel highlights - I've been waiting for.

Spoiler

Their Sunshine-Moonlight comp training was one. In my book, the way they do it counts as PDA.

The games of the season. Yang-Yang's pentakill in the opening game. How he syncs with Chi Shuo so much that the CP fan group shipping them is fed dog food left and right.

And between chapters 121-125, Shaoyang finally grasps that omegas' glands are s*xual organs. The second hand embarassment almost killed me. And yet, not long after, Yang-Yang still does not shy away from clasping Chi Shuo in a tight embrace when a game goes particularly well, setting himself up for a night of very private dreams about a certain captain of his - while still trying to cling to his self-image of a cough- straight male -cough, completely disregarding the fact that he is residing in a body that could literally give birth to his captain's babies :D:D

MC is really cool, shameless, strong-willed, and quite charismatic. If you're wanting to read a novel with a strong Omega that ain't getting bullsh*t with their white lotus weakly attitude that all they only do, then this novel is a good recommendation.

This was literally the reason I made this account, and you can imagine how shocked I was when I went to the website and BAM!!! It's not working. I never thought I'd be able to read through an esports battle in its entirety and enjoy it. I hope it gets back up.

My major issue with the novel:
It lacks believability. Both gameplay and plot-wise. You can't expect the novel to be realistic, but at the very least, it must be believable. And in all honesty, it lacks the believability to me. The gameplay can't convince me that the MC is able to beat a few of the world's top gamers the first year after his debut game. Logically and realistically, yeah, it could've happened. But I'm really disappointed that the MC's OPness is so unbelievable. There's no development. He's OP right... more>> from the start. My dude just isekai'd and automatically everything is right for him. He's a Gary Stu, no objections allowed. Yeah sure, his hero pool has increased, but what about his other parts of his gameplay? In terms of his knowledge of the game, his technique, his strategies, his chemistry with the ML, his personality, there's been no in depth development of him, and it makes the plot and gaming lack the believability to me.

Gaming:
It's not bad, but not the best I've seen. Its a bit lacking in detail, but overall an OK read that you probably won't cringe a lot at. The author accepts good advice too (for example changing the scoring system), so at the very least if there are major problems in the gaming that the viewers in China are able to find and point out, the author will happily correct it as long as it makes sense. So far there aren't places where I'd go "The gaming completely doesn't make sense." (Note: completely. There are parts where gameplay is confusing or just s*upid.)

It lacks variation, which is my biggest problem. It's hard to describe, but it's like the author changes things up here and there, but the result is always easy to guess. Although the game details changes, the process and result is always the same (Even the score change is often the same. First round won by MC, second round won by opponents, and the last game goes to MC in a bo3).

The romance:
Honestly not too terrible, they know how to act appropriately in different situations, ML doesn't push himself onto the MC, it's not the worse I've seen, and it's mostly enjoyable. (After Ch176:)
Spoiler

what the heck was that? The confession was honestly really freaking weird to me. It's parts like these that have the more "ABO" parts show and it just seems really awkward to me. Was it terrible? No. But did it seem unnatural? Hell yeah. How the MC and ML acted after the confession felt more natural to me. I guess it might not seem weird to a lot of people, but I feel like it's a weird way to push forward the romance, considering how the MC's has been acting this whole time. But yeah, I guess it could just be me.

[collapse]

Plot:
It follows the standard MC gets strong with team and win storyline with some minor changes that doesn't deviate from the whole template too much, but also doesn't make the story too boring. Nothing too special. Some plot holes are there, but not too large so ignoring it will probably do the trick.

Conclusion: Not one of the best gaming novel nor romance novel I've seen, but it's not a terrible read. Am I being too critical here? I don't know, but it's my honest opinion. Check out the novel if you want to. Goodbye and have a nice day, <<less

To be honest I am not very knowledgeable with e-sports. But I find this e-sport novel (if it can be categorized as such:-)) particularly soul grabbing. I was really hooked with just the first chapter and it all spiraled down to this. I don't have a talent in writing any feedbacks too. I just feel the need that, if I don't give one, my experience in reading this one will never be complete. To the one reading this (if you are that patient like me who reads feedbacks too) its... more>> a must read. There is a plot (refreshing). I can't just explain it thoroughly like the others, but I really enjoyed following this one. Jumping in this pit is very worthwhile and you might cry (I know I'm crying because I can no longer access the chapters, it also requires some password and I don't know the password). Nevertheless, to the translator, you definitely did a very good job in translating this one. I am trying to jump pit on your other works (hopes it's just as satisfying). Tell the author my regards. Thank you!!! <<less

Thank you for translating this 🥰 and for keeping up with the raw. Also I'm enjoying the story can't wait for the time when he finally join a team 😹.

/Edit

Just finish reading the latest raw chapter and heck 😹 author just left me hanging there with the most awaited part 😅. Can't wait for tomorrow to come.

Spoiler

MC's differentiation is finally happening just after his bath and needed to go to the hospital, and ML's reaction is epic since he taught MC is an A 😹.

All-Round Mid Laner is a good novel but at the same time quite average, so I'm only giving it 4-stars. Let me elaborate on some points. Strong from the Start
Spoiler

I don't have any issue with MC himself being OP from the beginning since MC already has several years of experience in professional e-sports and as a captain to boot. However, the MC's new team after transmigrating is winning almost constantly, so my interest towards the games waned as I continued reading. The end goal for the author is that MC's team wins the world championships the first try (first for the MC.) And one of the main reasons as to why MC's team is winning so frequently is due to the "tacit understanding" between him and the ML even from the get-go. This term gets thrown out a lot in this novel and is most likely due to the 100% compatibility between the two, being an omega and alpha pair (EDIT: This was also kind of hinted in the extras too.) That in itself is almost kind of unfair. Yes, there is tacit understanding between players in opposing teams, but the tacit understanding between MC and ML is apparently just stronger. It does allow for daring strategies, but overuse of it makes games much less exciting to read in the long run because as the reader, you'll expect it. So far, they have only lost a single game. Although, I do understand that it's a subtle way to make it appear as though MC and ML are the perfect couple.

[collapse]

Length
Spoiler

There are many games in this novel, some written back to back, with each round of a major domestic game taking up whole chapters. And in between the games, there are glimpses of relationship developments between the MC and the ML albeit quite short. I don't necessarily mind these kind of transitions. I just think a lot of the games are too long-winded, and I just ended up skimming through a lot of them. It is nice that games are extremely detailed to help the reader visualize what's happening, but doing that almost every time can make it quite exhausting to read especially knowing that the MC's team is winning the majority of the time. The process of how they win gradually loses its meaning to me despite the author's creativity. However, starting at the world championships, the author is making the games shorter, which I appreciate to a certain degree. The main story of the novel has already ended, and it is slightly longer than most of the other novels I've read. My issue, though, isn't the novel length, just that the games are taking up more of the novel than anything else.

[collapse]

Pacing
Spoiler

Based from different reviews that I've read, a lot of people seem to like the pacing of this novel. In my opinion, it was somewhat decent at the beginning but was quite bad towards the end. The author wrote very long chapters for the domestic games yet kept them extremely short for the world championships, which seemed contradictory due to the difference in importance. The ending is rushed, and the transition from main story to extras is also quite abrupt. I feel like the extras could have been included into the main story because basically what happens is that the MC gets a permanent mark, and the public finally learns that the MC and ML are dating with the idea of marriage in mind. Having those events be designated as extras make no sense to me. After that are the extras involving the ML's transmigrating into MC's original world. Games are hardly detailed since this portion is meant to be short, but the varying degrees in which the author writes games give me whiplash. It's not done yet so I'm not sure what's going to happen, but I'm assuming they're gonna go through the world championships again and win it with their "tacit understanding."

[collapse]

Overall, the novel is certainly not bad, but I have some mixed feelings about it. Despite all of the cons I have discussed, I think the events that occurred within the novel are quite enjoyable. I just find the games to be quite stale after a while. I think if the author reorganized the novel and changed the length of the games, the reading experience would have been a lot smoother for me personally. You just have to read it for yourself and decide since I have my own preferences. I'll read until the end of the novel, but I don't think I would want to re-read it due to the sheer number of games.

Honestly made a whole account because of this novel. I had the pleasure of reading through it before it abruptly crashed and can say with complete confidence that this is my favourite (and I've read hundreds).

The updates were daily and reliable, each update made me look forward to the following day. It did focus more on the gaming aspect but still contained enough romance to be satisfying, especially how emotionally confused the ML became due to the MC's lack of knowledge and awareness of his world.

I fell in love with... more>> the MC's confidence and strength throughout the story and his ability to overturn situations. I was never a fan of weak and dependent main characters so the MC was perfect. Of course, having Xiao Bai (cat) made it all sweeter. The MC knew his worth and calculated his best results which completely paid off in the end. His "arrogance" is backed by his unmatchable skills but he remains calm and never let's it get to his head.

The ML is kind and caring, not the overbearing type. Made to suffer through years due to his difficulties after his blinding debut, he knew what to look for and just aimed to bring Tianhuan back at the top. I loved how he put full trust in the MC and recognised how valuable his skills were, not willing to provide payment less than its worth. He also didn't react negatively to MC's ignorance of the basic knowledge of the world (which would otherwise be taken advantage of or looked down upon by others) and even helped him out in a gentlemanly manner. It's a slow burn romance but isn't at all frustrating.

Finally, the main premise focuses on esports and while I'm not too big on gaming, it made me actually start to try playing or look at other novels of the same genre. However, the others weren't comparable. The way each game was described were perfect; I was able to picture the moments and plays. Even the embedded humour only added more personality to the writing. I love how more relationships grew just from the games and the MC who once once alone when forced into this world, now grew to become a widespread phenomena with reliable teammates by his side. I was looking forward to how the story continued to progress and even tried to create future scenarios in my head. It honestly broke my heart when I could no longer go forward with the 'Next' button but kept a tab open solely for this novel to monitor its status. It's a big shame after I discovered the troubles and is now temporarily discontinued, however I plan on waiting so I hope they do eventually continue this novel and I can go back to anticipating the daily updates again. <<less

F***! I love e-sports... Waiting for more chapters impatiently, sad not even JJWXC has more than 8 chapters.

Love MC's e-sports oriented personality, just focuses on slapping faces in game and is indifferent to most real matters that would be more important for the people born in that time.

I gotta say the story is amazing. But the author needs to do some more research on the actual gameplay cuz as a real player I feel a lot of things are missing.

1. Like when MC dont even bother to kill a tank cuz its a tank. Well its true, usually Players should prioritize killing squishy, high dmg output champion first. Cuz killing a tank will take a lot of time. But the author forgets that on early game thats an exception. On early game tank didn't have any items.... more>> It will be easier to kill them early on than later, and it will also make you distrupt enemies gold earning and levels. So if you have the chance you should just also kill the tank early game.

2. This is specifically on the chapter 69. On pro player level, killing enemies without moving out of the tower is simply very unrealistic and impossible. Idk what the author was thingking when writing this. But writing that just to make the MC seems op is well uhhh uncalled for. Like even I feel very uneasy abt it. Like how?, think abt it when you were being attacked there's no way you're just staying still right? You ran. Then when you ran, the enemies will also run towards you to keep you inside of their target rage so they can kill you. There's no way. There's just no way, Killing inside a tower. Especially if that is an early game with enemies blood on 80%.

3. The author should probably introduce us more of tower diving. Its a term for those who dont know for killing enemies inside of their tower. When we "dive" to the enemy tower, we will take some DMG once in a while, so it is extremely risky to do this as a squishy hero. But there's thing idk what its called in english, when other teammates took the tower dmg for you. Cuz the tower could only DMG a person once at a time. This is also the main use of minions. To take the tower damage for you. The author did mention this a little bit in game.

4. The thing that I found weird also, is that there's zero mentions of the need of vision when playing. The author briefly mentioned this when MC was going 1v1 with the other midlaner newbie from the team. Author's explanation was right don't get me wrong But vision plays a very very big role on game and not just for 1v1, there's a lot of factors on 5v5, each lane going 1v1 is almost not guaranteed. You need vision to start an ambush, you need a vision to stay out of being ambushed, you need a vision to start taking the dragon/lord/master/buff so the enemy cannot steal it, you need a vision to start farming, and you need a vision to keep the map open, so you can move freely and confident. But the author just didn't mention this when on real pro players are willing to die to get a vision on a single little bush cuz that single little bush can effect the entire gameplay. But I'll just suspect the author doesn't know abt it so yeah well its fine.

5. And since this is a pro player level plays, I was expecting more micro skills to be mentioned or at least introduce, but I guess the author don't really know a lot abt it.

Tbh theres a lot more things going on, on the game play that as a player I found weird. But I only play a few moba games myself like aov, lol, mlbb. But that was a long time ago and I didn't quite make it till the upper class so I don't exactly know abt the details since every game has different mechanics. Now I only play mlbb actively cuz the game is very popular where I live. Then if I truly match the game here with mlbb there'll be lots of things I wanna point out, I'll make this book seems very bad when its actually very good.

So, if you are also a player like me, then just ignore the minor details, the story itself is very good and its not like the gameplay is super duper bad that you can't read it, its quite nice but, I just need to point this out.

But if you are not a player, then lucky you, you can enjoy this book without too analyzing the battle like I did XD

So is it a good read? Yes 10/10, but the game play itself? 6-7/10

Well I am assuming the author is saving the more detailed stuff later on when they actually face off or on big battles. So this can be tolerated

But if you are looking for a truly detailed micro gameplay stoey, then nope this is not the right novel to look at. I mean look at the genre its bl/abo/games it is abt game. And mostly abt game but the real catch here that it is bl so yeah. Have a good read! <<less

Unexpectedly always looking forward to read the updates everyday! I never squatted like this since forever, rather than wait until it finished. The cover really fooled me with the content of the story and the characters personality. You know with cover like that I expected at least the couple dynamic will be those mainstream cold guy x cute boy but damn am I wrong.

Our MC, Ye Shaoyang (the shou) is a very chill guy. Yeah for a guy that suddenly got thrown into an ABO world he's kinda clueless, but... more>> he is aware and tried to make up for by learning more and takes notes of the etiquettes between different gender (lol). He has high EQ and even got nicknamed 'foreign ambassador' because of his interview with no holes to poke in. He's also likes to take care of the younger generation. For example the second team members, Cheng Xing (the shooter in their team), and even other teams member as well (MC is 21 btw). Though even with all of that, he's actually an introvert which really makes his character looks calm as water but warm as the sun.

Do remember he's a transmigrator from which in his previous live he's a team captain (also where his 'big brother' character came from), which means obviously he's very OP but also means he's somewhat obsessed with the winning the championship whole of team. Thus uhh, I think he has zero life plans other than winning (especially romance since we really have no mention of his past relationship, crush, taste in spouse, or even sexuality plus a whole system of genders. but he has no problem accepting man getting pregnant and women can get someone pregnant so idk ?. plus when he differentiated into an omega he kinda don't care about it afterward. tbh this guy is soo chill that when his heat came the first time, he's still very normal and calm even when talking, except for sweating profusely. only ML freaking out by himself lol)... soo good luck ML for that.

The ML, Chi Shuo is cold on the outside but warm on the inside to everyone, especially if you already know him long enough. He comes to me as just an awkward guy actually lol, can't expressed his emotion as easily as other people but has a strong mental fortitude though. He has been blacked by the sunspot for 2-4 years cuz of his team's unsatisfactory results. First time we see him seems like unbothered by it but from the dialogue I'm pretty sure he's depressed by it too (he has a sense of relief after seeing their opponents didn't always ban his character anymore nor did they suppressed him alone). Some insight to ML's brain-hole moments:

Ye Shaoyang : *Sits next to him*

Chi Shuo : (omg, did he grow has a dependency on me because of the temporary mark? I don't love him (yet) though and love will hinder the tournament. But maybe we can start dating after that ?)

Ye Shaoyang : You have done a great job captain, nice teamwork!

Chi Shuo : *internal screaming* (ahh he's so perfect I wanna kiss him soo bad, let's get engaged after the tournament. how many kids we will have-)

I hope our MC catch on his feeling before he so anything relationship related. Cuz I can already imagine how dumbfounded MC is and how embarrassed ML will be when that happened. Poor ML probably will bury himself on the ground at that point lol (and yeah ML's most likely already in denial after that first brainhole, signing MC expecting a dependable teammates but you got a perfect wife instead AND a god tier teammates instead. I see no loss here).

Although in MC's defense he has not done any 'closer-than-you-should' action. Heck he pretty much treat everyone the same way, it's just he has more interaction with ML cuz well they are roommates and game partner. ML's just has huge imagination there, he should be an author after he's retired lol. If you fear that this situation will turned into creepy and annoying, it won't. Remember ML's an introvert and has difficulty on expressing himself, he might even won't tell anyone about his feeling before MC is, plus he's a gentleman nonetheless.

Oh yeah and I also loves his friendship and dynamic with his youth training camp friends. the epitome of healthy rivalry and sportsmanship. And just adding this if you irked by cliche, THIS NOVEL ML IS NOT A CONGLOMERATE HEIR !
Spoiler

the reason why he can greatly effects the club decision is actually because of his master, who is a major shareholder of the club

[collapse]

Story pace is nice and slow. Author places great importance on build up so actual official team battles start at 70 ish chapter I think? But it's by no means a bad story. Very focused on the e-sport aspect and has just the right amount of battle with detailed description (at least I think so). Near zero drama and nationalism though...
Spoiler

There are some prick players abroad (they are from Korea btw) but if you ask me it's the non-braindead kind. Somewhat justifiable cuz they ARE the previous championship winner and I don't think anyone can't be a bit arrogant after that. Plus there are nice Korea players, or other countries players in general, and some even has good relationship with our club. The drama part consisted of black spots fans and other thing related to that, nothing too personal yknow

[collapse]

Some might find this boring cuz it is full of battle action, and other MC's teammates are not fully flesh out. But hey, we still at the beginning of the story it's still early to judge and until this moment we do (finally) have some other teammate's development moments. ABO stuff sexism is pretty much non-existent after MC's first battle (at least for now?) to the point I'm even forgetting this is an ABO novel lol. Like there's no 'omg he's an omega, how could he be so strong' even in chat (I'm betting everyone actually just forget MC is an omega until some accident happens), the nearest it could get is just his fans calling 'wife pls marry me'.

In conclusion, a very well written e-sport novel despite being ABO. No dogblood sh*t happens here (no hate), perfect for those who interested only on the game aspect and sportsmanship. The non-cliche dynamic can also be a plus for you. I might change this if there's a change in quality or if it's finished but it's very promising so far, the misunderstanding of MC&ML's sockpuppets account just make the readers full of anticipation for what next to come.

*edit 18-12-21

Spoiler

Lol finally MC realize that temporary marking it's just the same as jerking off each other. This 2 dumbazz really are soulmates. Calm AF while handling social interaction, but incredibly awkward with love related. At least finally it's not just the ML freaking out right now XD

This novel is amazing. It made me camp at jjwxc everyday for an update. I really like the MC. He is supposed to be a little OP but he has to work hard for it. It's not where an MC transmigrates and finds out he has some golden finger. The MC is an op but he has worked hard in his both lives- the previous and current life. The ML is also very likable. It's not where he marks the MC and starts to be dommineering. He also cares about MC a lot and trusts him unconditionally. Plus they have a lot of cute interactions.

Spoiler

For example: during new year MC who had a very good hand speed grabs many red envelopes but only got one yuan. He complains about his rotten luck when ML sends him a very big red envelope saying he normally sends this to everyone. MC then happily accepts this while their teammates are wondering why has Captain (ML) decided to send them this envelope.

[collapse]

So far as I read there is a misunderstanding between the MC and ML. ML thinks that the MC likes him as he decided to have him give temporary mark, so he decided that "marriage first then love" and decided to be a responsible alpha that MC can depend on. While MC doesn't know anything about Omegaverse and thinks ML is just being a nice captain to him. Lmao, they are so cute. The side characters are amazing. They are not just so shallow beings that comes out only to highlight ML and MC scenes. No, they have a lot of depth to them. Plus, I really love the second team which are ML and MC juniors.

Spoiler

There was a youngster who challenged MC when he found out about him and then he got beat up by the MC. He didn't give up and asked for another round. Then another. Lmao he is such a cute kid. I think the MC, who was a captain in his previous world, took a liking to him and took him under his wings. Now Captain ML and the MC kills those of second team everyday in their practice match.

[collapse]

Spoiler

The psycological shadow was so great that when they went to a side tournament they defeated everyone and won. They then admitted that by killing them Captain Chi and MC were actually taking care of them. Lmao I really feel sorry for these kids.

[collapse]

I would also like to thank the author, who regularly updates two chapters on the website. Even though I don't know any chinese and had to use google translate, I really thank you for such a great story. And the translators are also very consistent in their work.

It's unfortunate that the previous translations are taken down, but you can still mtl. You can guess the game lingos through context and the actions/movement of the players are quite clear imo. It's much bearable than other action story.

I can see why many people praises this novel at earlier chapters and have some complaints at around 150+ or maybe earlier than that. I want to give my opinions about this.

(go to end for spoilers/contents to skip chapters)

1. Game focused/not much romance or drama

Spoiler

Yes this is that kind of story. The competition will usually go for a few days or a month without meaningful break. It's competition after competion, and you can easily skip it and still follow the romance progression outside of it. But the romance are very minisclue that perhaps you'll only get 20 chapters (compare it to 180ch) if you skip all the games (this is only an exaggeration).

Fortunately the games are not entirely boring.

At earlier chapters, the competitions are quite meaningful and dramatic because people just get to know MC (Ye Shaoyang/nicknamed Yangyang). Like, who is this newbie omega player?? What can he do?? And it was quite fun to see how shocked or pressured their opponents were because the author wrote it in comedic way.

However after that, it became a bit duller. There are no more surprises, the pattern of the fans, audiences, and opponents became fixed/predictable. Perhaps the author also realized this and at one point just skipped all comments and finish a game without any outside interruption, as if the world was only inside the game.

The pace of some games became much faster which for me is a positive thing. (Author is really good at story pacing)

For people who like moba games or teamwork action in general, I think this type of novel is pretty enjoyable. I've never skip a battle and I enjoyed all action and rounds. I do take breaks, when I need romance/drama I'll read other stuff.

The author was very comprehensive when creating the heroes and their skill. I'm very impressed A LOT by how much imagination and works the author has been working for this fictional moba games.

For the games alone, I'll set aside all my tastes and give this novel five stars.

Of course it's not 100% beliavable because it's fiction.

For example, the author made several couple heroes (two heroes who complement each other as in name, design or skill) so we can pair up MC & ML. This is creative works so I don't think it's important whether this set up is beliavable or not. It's cute. It's harmless 'shipping' tool. Why not?

For people who don't like moba games or teamwork action, earlier games are still quite fun to read. But it'll be hard to continue without ever skipping a game or taking a break. It's your choice.

When the romance is due, it's quite cute, beliavable, and Yangyang's realization about the meaning of Alpha-Omega's marking is so damn hilarious!! I couldn't stop rolling in my bed and smiling/gigling by my self.

[collapse]

2. The MC (and ML) is OP and his team always win

Spoiler

A game has 3 or 5 rounds. They don't always win a round, but yes, up until ch 180 they have never lost a game (maybe I'm wrong but if they ever lose, it's very forgettable, meaning it doesn't affect their overall outcome at all).

This is logical if the author wants to make them win the world competition in MC's first debut (which I guess is) because the system of the tournament won't allow a team to lose too much.

If they lose one or two games, then they have to make up for it with another game and it'll make the story much longer. So I bear with it.

I also think it's beliavable for a power house to suddenly emerge in a tournament and bulldoze their way to the top, although it's very rare.

Unfortunately, yes the MC and ML felt OP because MC and Tianhuan's (their team) coach team could always come up with new team arrangement that have never been used before, catching their opponent off guard. The problem is, their opponents never do the same. They always use old arrangements which everyone already know.

Well in reality it's hard to come up with new arrangement. But Yangyang (MC) is from another world so his view isn't stuck in what already existed. It's also completemented by his personality that like to challange the impossible.

I think the author wants to highlight his strength and also make the story more interesting than just winning though skill alone which is even more impossible and will look more op.

Fortunately, some opponents old strategy are not easy to win, so it's still provide a bit challange and the battle aren't dull. Although you know they'll win, you still want to know how (at least for me)

Despite that, yes, the author still should let other team to come up with new team model/arrangements so Tianhuan will look less OP. Maybe they will in the future game.

Beside that, imo Ye Shaoyang (MC) is far from having golden finger. He's already a genius and experienced world-class gamer in his previous life after all. And in his current life he did practice a lot, no less or even more than other players. His teammates also worked hard. So, they still made me want to genuinely support them.

If you talk about golden finger, maybe you mean the tacit understanding between Yangyang and Chi Shuo/Cap Chi (ML), but if you pay attention to the game environment, as long as you play a lot with your team and have similar level of ability, I think it's achievable.

The author also mentioned other pair from other team also has good tacit understanding. Anyway it's not just MC and ML, but the author just don't mention others. Theirs are mentioned a lot to create a pairing/romantic atmosphere. After all it's dull if it's not mentioned.

If you still can't believe it, take it as their special ability of having 100% matching pheromone so their thoughts are syncronized. After all that 100% is not mentioned as much compared to other ABO with similar trait and I also want it to mean something.

Lastly if you compare it to "Fanservice Paradox", their tacit understanding is not cringey at all and has more reasonable explanation. *please don't hit me*

[collapse]

3. Their confession aren't natural

Spoiler

I only find Yangyang's sentence in his answer is unnatural but most likely it's because mtl.

I think Yangyang's thought, why he accepted CS's confession, is in line with his personality which is true to his heart (also honest, straightforward, isn't afraid of challange/something new). So he quickly realized his feeling and accepted it on spot which is reasonable.

In fact, he already think of it a lot before he was confessed and I sense a change in his heart at some point.

What a bit strange is, I thought he already realized his feeling before the confession, but somehow he haven't and rerealized it when he was confessed. Maybe I'm wrong. Anyway it's small stuff.

Beside that, I can't comment about other stuff.

[collapse]

4. Side characters are dull

Spoiler

They don't have much screen time or highlight during earlier chapters and when they appear, their personality are kinda dull.

But this story is not focused on each of the team personality/problem like in "Toxic Assembly Camp", nor it has side pairing like in "I Can Do It".

This story is more realistic in people. They still serve their role and purpose. I'm quite okay with that.

And it doesn't mean they won't have characters' development. Not only Yangyang's teammate, but other players from other team also has development both in character and game skill.

There is a quite moving story from a player from another team whom Yangyang made a friend of.

However Yangyang is not a gary stu! Although he does bring a lot of impact to people around him.

The author is just very skillfull to make her main character shine in every possible way.

[collapse]

5. The ABO world is...

Spoiler

This is not a smutty ABO worlds. Idk whether there will be smut in the future. But probably not in jjwx.

The ABO world in this novel looks quite clean and friendly.

The government managed the gender differences quite cleanly and organized, with respect. In most public and entertainment area, people are reminded about their hormone to prevent accident. And in earlier chapter Yangyang was asked about whether he was treated well as the sole omega in the dorm.

You are free to think whether this is restricting or not, but the author write it in good light.

I think this setting is quite in line with modern technology and mindset which is to prevent accident and creating safe environment for everyone regardless gender. But this ABO world still has some traditional aspects which create a bit of contradiction.

One example, there is a mindset that "omega should be delicate" as represented by Yangyang's younger cousin quite heavily. But when an omega like Yangyang showed up, people quickly accepted him with no more prejudice. A bit illogical but not important.

There are more but the review is getting too long. I'll just mention that despite Cap Chi has traditional mindset (which also pure mindset) to take responsibility for the omega he marked (albeit temporary), he can be quite unrestrained when he already thought that the omega is his, despite not being married yet.

Maybe this is just aspect of ABO that I don't understand.

Anyway it's hot so I accept this dog food.

[collapse]

6. Other points

Spoiler

Both Yangyang and Captain Chi have their own life, their circle of friends
They are very dedicated with their work, very professional.
It's adult romance in a sense they don't prioritize it over work. But it doesn't mean they aren't passionate when they can.
I think this has more realistic nuance compared to other esport novel, and more slice of life.
No overly jealous ML, no prolonged misunderstanding, it's solved quite cleanly. Tbh I don't like drama in this aspect.
Although game focused, the pace is good, reasonable. The author is very sensible in a lot of aspect as well. The writing style is comfortable to read.
mtl is quite understandable (for my standard), not as dry as other. Take this with a grain of salt.

[collapse]

.

Spoilers (if you want to go straight to romance) warning: quite a spoiler:

Spoiler

ch 121-125 ch important romance progression
ch 131 wet dream (no, it's not Cap Chi's)
ch 153 hugging again (after a game, a very meaningful hug)
ch 158 Cap Chi sing for Yangyang (actually don't skip the extra competition, it's fun)
ch 162 not real, but still confessions
ch 175 suspectible period & first kiss, second kiss, eh do I need to count?
ch 176 true confessions, finally
ch 184 maybe fourth or fifth kiss, I really don't need to count, right??

[collapse]

The things happen in the chapters mentioned but it can be after a game (in the end of chapter) and it can continue to the next chapter, I won't bother to write the range.

This is strictly romance spoiler after the previous translated chapter (that no longer exist). And maybe I missed some small thing so I'll add more spoiler in the future if anyone need it. <<less

The pace of the story is also pretty good. It's not too slow not too fast and it gets 2 updates daily, sometimes even 3. I usually don't MTL novels but this is so fun I just couldn't wait and the quality of the MTL is also quite good.

If you don't know how to MTL just copy paste the chinese name on google (全能中单) and then click on the website and translate that page, done! The website I read it on was yushubo something I don't remember but it started with Y.

Anyways, I'm gonna wait for 5-6 days and binge read again. <<less

So far so good. This omegaverse story actually treat omegas as humans and not just breeding machines. Also it's nice to know that there are devices, instruments and measures that are actually being used in this omegaverse universe in order for the society to actually function smoothly without that constant fear of suddenly going crazy because of pheromones. I'm excited on how the author will handle the first actual heat of our omega MC and the susceptibility period of our alpha ML.
Spoiler

The ML will likely fall in love first and not the MC. And it's funny that this pair have names and gaming names that screams 'COUPLE'.

In chapter 77, I do not know whether to fell sorry or not with the ML. He's starting to fall in love with the MC. The ML is already thinking about their future married life while the MC remains clueless on whatever is running through the ML's mind.

In chapter 78, the ML is behaving towards the MC like they're already engaged which the MC once again just thought as something platonic.
[collapse]

Spoiler

In chapter 96, the team got endors**ent and once again our couple is unconciously choosing matching 'couple items'. I can imagine how the quiet CP shippers in that universe will rejoice once they saw the commercial.

In chapter 97, the ML is starting to realize that he's fallen in love with the MC. He now thinks that the MC is 'his omega'. The ML has already planned out that towards the end of the season, he will speak with The MC to discuss about their supposed 'engagement' which includes talking with the parents. He's already in too deep into the quagmire of love. Our MC, as usual, is clueless about everything that is on the mind of the ML.

In chapter 98, the MC got a surprise birthday party from the team. The birthday cake that was bought for him is quite big that they joked that it was like a wedding cake. The ML bought 'couple' phones for the both of them as gift. He even stated that from then on, they will always celebrate MC's birthdat together. His declaration shocked the MC and I believe that this will be the start when he starts to become hyper aware of the ML. Also, tge MC asked ML about when is his birthday and here we have our lovestruck ML dreaming that his birthday gift would be their first kiss.

[collapse]

Spoiler

In chapter 104, the ML hugged the MC for the first time and it was right after they won the game.

[collapse]

Spoiler

In chapter 176, our MC and ML are now officially in a relationship.
