The story is a second chance, with a bit of revenge. Mainly it’s a quite peaceful slice of life with fluff.

There is not much going on though the story, so it may be even a little boring at times. Or maybe it’s just me.

The MC is powerful in many aspects, maybe even a bit too much of perfection. But the relationship is not bad. I could feel the touch of real life in them. The main couple relationship is really good and it’s one of the best aspects here.

In conclusion,... more>> a mediocre slice of life with some addition old and salt. But as a slice of life - it’s quite good. Recommend to try if you like this genre or something want something relaxing to read. <<less

Ok, not gonna lie but when I first read this a few months back, I stopped halfway through. Only because at that time I was super busy and this does not affect my focus much. It gave me the impression of not rushing to the finish line.

I was super relaxed reading this. I feel like I could drop this down after a time but still have the mentality of picking it back up when I have the time. It's not time consuming and gives you the feeling of gradual reading.

This... more>> story is pretty mature and heartwarming. The characters are practical, and although they do appear more fictional-like with their background and ability, but their personality and decisions are more than enough to justify that they have their own character.

I really love this novel and I hope people will give chance in reading this. People may be cruel, people may be smart, people may be kind, but we all know that we can only stand in between the black and white. Hope this novel will give you new perspective of human life and contradictions. <<less

It was definitely more than a few blessings.

Great story for me over all and the ending was kinda rushed? There was only one extra thou.

Some characters disappear near the end like MC's two best friends from college, after the hospital incident never saw them again lol.

MC is definitely an old fox and ML is like the mother caring for her child. It's kinda sweet, I only remembered one scene where the MC teased the ML.

It's quite simple and light. The conflicts and face-slapping scenes didn't make me feel much since it's kind of expected. The relationship between the MC and the ML is good. However, the MC is OP and seems to be good at everything he wants to do which made it feel a bit boring.

Loved it!!! A mature and sweet love story... the story has a mystery element related to the MC... The flow of the story is really good and you would want to know what happens next... the relationship between the MC and ML is mature and believebale with no drama... Thanking the author and the translator for bringing us this piece of gem!!!

This is a great novel. I love the author and all her work so I started reading this once it is completely translated. (Sorry, I'm assuming it is a female and I may be wrong). All her main characters are strong and witty. I could not put it down and I binge read it. I often forget this is a BL novel so if you're not a fan of BL novels - give it a go nonetheless. You will not be disappointed if you like great characters development, detailed plots... more>> and a feel good story. <<less

Same author of Very Happy, I enjoy and love that novel.. And this as well! The author always gives us an unexpected twist in the novel! I love Yan Mu and Lu Chengyu!

This novel has every tag that I'm looking for, it's a good read. However, there are several times when the writing is vague and logic has flown out the window. Some very big and serious issues are always dealt off screen without explanation and seemingly in an easy way, I don't know if it is because the writer wanted to make it short and preferred to not elaborate on those parts or she was just being lazy. I sometimes felt like a dragonfly just skimming the surface of water.

A good read. I also recommend it if you are like me, who enjoys fluff more. There isn't heavy plot drama in this novel. Although occasionally there is scheming and a bit of revenge plot for the main character but it was immediately accomplished. The later part centered on the interactions between the main couple.

The antagonists left are for the male lead to worry and the main character did his good job to support and help his partner. Also, this novel showcases the struggle of a family struggling to accept... more>> the identity of the partner due to homosexuality but rest assured, no dog-blood drama is happening. Our main character is so amazing that eventually the male lead's family accepted him and the male lead also, will not disappoint us so, do not worry.

The romance is a bit slow-burn but not too much. The main character is smart enough to realize his feelings and the plot didn't dwell longer on this point. <<less

Short and sweet story. My main problem with most BL novels is that one is too domineering while the other is too passive. This one makes a natural progression from friends to lovers. Though I do think that at least one of the leads should have found his sexuality as a surprise, the author did mention that the CEO was never attracted to anyone before so it makes sense that he wasn't too surprised. The story keeps you in mystery of what happened for a good while and it does... more>> add to some tension but the reveal is quite casual. There could have more seriousness / discussion around this topic.

Good for light reading and counts for a happy ending. <<less

i came here after I read 'very happy' so I think it somehow affected my mood in the earlier chapters. This was a very good story as well. I would have given it 3.5* if it was possible because I felt something was lacking but giving it lower would be bad since the story and flow was very good.",)

I have to keep 1 star in my pocket this time. I am very disappointed and this makes me sad. I persisted from the start. It's okay even if not much romance. Then, in the last 30 chapters, I couldn't take it anymore.

I like the MC here, he's OP and smart. And ML is so adorable because he's shy in front of his crush. But this is not executed well by the author. I keep waiting for an interesting pursuit of love, but it's not here, the interaction between MC... more>> and ML is very short even though they are often together, there should be many moments that can be created.

Then, in the end I dropped this novel at a time when the conflict escalated, I'm very enthusiastic at this point. But again, I'm disappointed because MC and ML seem too indifferent, they are very worried about safety but ignore the problem, they almost die, but instead of investigating, they are carrying out their activities as usual, even though the MC here is a hacker, and ML is an influential person in the capital. Hey, this is the tyrant of life, but it really doesn't work.

And the identification of the problem is left to someone else, then it's revealed a little but then the plot is shifted to things that I don't think are important at all, like long talks but have nothing to do with the story, this sucks.

In the last chapter I read I tried to skip these unimportant things and just take the core of the story, but in the end I gave up. I could not.

Try to read it if you don't get bored easily. I can't suggest anything else.

I like MC and ML but I don't like the plot development, bye bye. <<less

A well-written story with very well portrayed protagonists. The MC's personality was not overly good, it nicely meshed with the way of reality. And most of all the author did not let the MC deviate from his original goals. He had the ability to achieve his goals and was lucky enough to find a blessed partner.

I especially liked that the MC did not rely on the ML to achieve his goals. And also the ML for being a supportive and not a controlling personality.

It was a good read!

This is a really well written, mature romance story. What I really loved is that despite the two main characters being quite powerful, and the MC being pretty OP, there were a bunch of small details that seriously humanized both the MC and ML.

For example, Chengyu is smart, calm, knows how to handle every situation, is good at everything. But then we see that he's also a bit lazy, doesn't like cleaning up after himself, hates cooking, has a foul mouth when talking to his friends, loves to go on Weibo and fight with random people on the internet in comments sections. Like, yes he is OP but the author makes sure to show us just how human he really is. Additionally, I like how the people who get close to Chengyu start to realize that his perfect, polite smile is just a mask that he uses to hide his emotions.

ML as well is first presented as the typical stone face ML, but in reality he is just head over heels for Chengyu and will do anything to make him happy. But, that doesn't mean throwing a bunch of money at him or trying to solve all the problems by himself. Sometimes he helps Chengyu take care of problems, sometimes he just sits back and lets Chengyu handle things however he wants, and sometimes he just cooks Chengyu food and makes sure he feels safe and happy.

Now admittedly, some details were a bit unbelievable. Sometimes Chengyu is a bit TOO OP with not enough explanation to justify it.

Such as being miraculously good at fighting, on the same level as a military operative, and yet the text claims he only worked at a dojo for a year. You don't become a fighting god with just one year of training.

Also him being randomly super good at poker because he can count cards. Why didn't he use that skill in his unfortunate previous life?

I also wanted to see him show a little more emotion because even with Yan Mu he would just constantly keep up his fake smile. I mean, he finds out that his father wasn't actually his biological father but he has absolutely no reaction to it. This detail is just kind of glossed over and it's never describe how he felt about that. Although Chengyu was humanized in a lot of way, his lack of emotion was off putting at times when certain details were revealed.

However, despite the stuff I listed in the above spoiled, I still give this story five stars. The couple is just so lovely. Their absolute faith and trust in each other is wonderful. There are no s*upid misunderstandings, no suspicions towards each other, no petty fights or arguments. They just show each other immense love, warmth, and trust, while dealing with every situation.

The ending did feel rushed, but overall leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling because you can really feel the love between the two characters.

Just don't expect anything steamy. It's bare bones even for a Chinese novel. I'd classify this more as shounen-ai than a yaoi, but that's okay! <<less

I usually never log on and never write reviews, but for this one I will. (First time woo)

It did not make me cry but made me very happy, which I say is very good. This story pucks at your little heartstrings and gently blows on them while hooking you up with it's plot.

If you like casual and not too intense novels, this is the one for you.

It also did not give me a mental breakdown, which is also very good.

Anways, I liked this novel quite a lot.

An okay story, maybe a little rushed. I felt like not all things were tied up in the end and there were questions left unanswered.

The romance felt a little forced but the insta love ML has for MC is typical for the author so I was not surprised there. I expected more from the story because I really enjoyed the author's other works.

The quality of the translation did affect the overall enjoyment of the story. It was just plain bad. I'm sure that the translator did their best machine translating... more>> the story but it was almost unreadable. If I was a newer reader of danmei I probably would have given up, because so many things didn't make any sense because of the awkward translation. <<less

A cheesy and fantastical basic wish-fulfillment story. Normally I don't discriminate against stories like this because I also read to escape from reality, not get reminded of it.

But the translation really is subpar, as one reviewer pointed out, and that really brought down the quality further. Still, I appreciate the effort and without it, I also wouldn't even know about this story.
