Shi Yunnan was sent out of the country by his parents since he was young, and lived like an unloved child, but he still played around wantonly and relied on his appearance to make trouble~

It's nice at the start, but it starts dragging midway.

MC is the perfect face-slapping protagonist (with a likable bold and flirty personality) pitted against an evil transmigrator and ML is a tyrant family head (cold and restrained) who is soft and doting on the MC.

Cliche, but whatever. I suck those up. My problem lies in the plot, which is a repetitive format of MC facing adversary and breezing past it while accumulating feelings with the ML. It gets.. boring after a while. The excitement in the initial stages soon fades... more>> away to a plot that doesn't have much to offer.

You could count it as a slice-of-life face-slapping novel, which I feel would be far more accurate. My one pro would be the little kid (he's so cute). One major con is that everyone is suspiciously gay around the MC, which is quite annoying. Cmon, just because the MC is gay doesn't mean every one of his acquaintances have to be TT. But yeah, I'm just nitpicking because I expected more. It's overall a nice novel if you know what to expect, but it's just not to my taste.

Also, the secret crush on the ML's side never really felt... worthy. It seemed rather shallow and didn't explain exactly what made the MC special. So it was hard to get attached the ML's underlying deep love for the MC.

This is sooo good.. Definitely those fluffs and all albeit it's true that most part of face slapping has similarities to other novels.

However!! In terms of realistic ending of those protagonists turned villains is well dasurv. It's all jam-packed of genre.. It has drama, tragedy, morals, action, romance, fantasy- (I guess, since he was reborn), as well as childcare!

Fvk I'm totally whipped in ML's love for the MC.. It's another story that makes me realize how I can't find someone like the ML in real life huhu

I loved the first half of this book - he characters, the plot, the face slapping was all great. However, towards the end, the villains got too ridiculous, and the face slapping was almost too extreme (death or jail, usually with bankruptcy). And the way the villains are set up, the author is obviously of the mind that "bad children and bad discipline can ruin a family". I think a lot of greedy or selfish children grow out of it as they get older and see more of the world.... more>> And the line between pampering well and pampering until spoiled is a much more delicate and nuanced line than the author paints.

I debated about the rating for this story, because if it ended around the 70th chapter, I'd have given it a solid 5. However, the weak ending and extras that seemed to just drag and expand on the main characters (as of the 10th extra, it was all about the main couple when I was ready to read a bit more about all the side couples the author set up). I was ready to give the ending a 4, or even 3 star rating. However, in remembrance of how cute I thought little goldfish was, and how nice it is to have a strong shou, I rounded the rating up to 5 overall. <<less

Maybe for others, 8 years is not much time, but for me, that is a long time to wait for someone without changing their feelings.

I also love the MC! He’s not the type to have a prejudice against someone just because they stand on the opposing sides of him.

I especially love that he has a sense of measure and knows which relative he will value and which relative he will get his revenge on.

I also love his relationship with his twin brother. For me, it’s such a rare gem that the two were on such good terms. And also, I love that they are protective of each other.

I also love MC’s friends. It’s good that they have their own story.

I ship Wen Yibei with Fu Ziyu, but there’s not much development in terms of their relationship. Yuan Rui and Lu Zhao’an has their own story, so they weren’t included in the extras.

Also, Qin Jian and Yuan Meng, Luo Lingsheng’s subordinates, also has a lot of potential. It seems there’s no follow-up though.

Very adorable~~

MC and ML were so good together! Their little lack of communication was a little troublesome at times but it was not an annoying aspect for the most part and our MC's insecurities made my heart break a little. ML was the person who unconditionally provided everything he could ask for and I think our MC is finally happy, infact very happy.

The most touching part of this story was Little Goldfish! Awww.... I just was to squish him to a little mush!!

Decent read, though a little long. The novel became a little repetitive toward the end. There are better versions of this book, like My Husband is Suffering from a Terminal Illness.

All in all, what you would expect from a face-slapping, rich family novel. The face-slapping is pretty solid. Though, the MC does rely on revenge p*rn from time to time, which I don’t agree with.

Also, someone noted this and then I could unnotice it lol. Literally every time they leave the house, they end up in some sort of violent, physical fight. Like, just because y’all are rich does not mean y’all can get away with assaulting people left and right. This is not how people should act lol. I prefer figurative face-slapping over literal face slapping.

Characters are great. I love me a shameless protagonist. And a ML that dotes on his absolute gremlin of an MC? Good shit. They also have a lovely child, who is very cute and adds an extra layer to their domesticity.

They also have a well rounded group of friends. Docking a few points for the sheer lack of any positive female characters. Sigh.

Overall plot is pretty straightforward and they don’t run in to many obstacles along the way.

It was a good read. Would recommend, though I probably won’t reread it. <<less

If you like an overbearing businessman ML and a smart, successful MC who does a lot of face-slapping based on the knowledge he gets from a 'dream', then this is a good read! Although the trope is a bit repetitive, the villains get what they deserved. There's also a cutie pie nephew who makes the family picture more complete. There's a little bit of misunderstanding/angst between the couple but all of it is resolved promptly. Currently waiting for the extras to be translated.

Wooooahhh face slapping/ villains got their due punishments

MC is a fighter!! But also has his own fragile side cause of his past experiences. ML is dependable!! But also has his insecurities. Both of them want to be better for each other. There's a lil bit like 2 misunderstanding (1st one on ml's legs) but what a good turn around for our couples like chap 84?ahhah about who's that white moonlight🤣. ML finally opened up his feelings for MC and how he fell inlove. MC finally have someone who will love... more>> him as he is. Lil goldfish is very cute <<less

The romance was wonderful!

MC is a sunny, flirty person despite his tragic childhood. He is very smart and capable. In many ways he reminds me of WeiYing from MDZS except that the MC in this story is not so oblivious (thank god). Both like to tease, are passionate and very loyal to family and friends. And they like to fight, literally. Luckily, the MC in this story recognizes early on his feelings for ML and also perceives well that ML also has feelings for him. He is not afraid to... more>> take the lead.

The first few chapters are a bit misleading when it comes to ML's character. At first you would think he is the typical tsundere or yandere, cold CEO. But that changes quickly. He reminds me somewhat of the ML in My husband is suffering from a terminal illness. He has an inferiority complex due to his disability, which I think was a bit exaggerated. Yes, Chinese culture is quite harsh and cruel and does see disability as something to be ashamed of. But still, I think it was a bit too much here. So, minus 0.25 points here.

I deducted another 0.25 point because of the ending of all the villains. There were quite a few and they were all dealt with. They all went to prison I think? Their deeds were also a bit too dramatic and exaggerated.

Don't expect a sophisticated plot or anything. It's still a very simple story with the usual dumb villains, but the character design of CP and their romance are great.

I loved the Extras and the Alternative Universe in the last Extra. It was even sweeter than the original story. No dog blood in AU. <<less

This is a 'shuang wen' aka feel-good lit. Pretty formulaic. Face-slapping is the main dish. For this kind of story, the main point is whether it's enjoyable. In a way, I actually enjoyed this. Main characters weren't annoying, the child is cute, villains got slapped hard; it feels good. It's 'shuang' enough as long as you don't pick on the holes.

There was nothing special about this. But it was not bad.

A rebirth and counter attack to his jerkass family and securing a male god ceo with cold demeanor. The differences of MC between the before and after the 'dream' were pretty big gap, in which I had to ask if MC was poisoned in the brain so he could not think carefully back then?

Here, MC didnot forgive his asshat grandfather and father, didnot care of their well being at all. I might get softhearted with second chances and old parents... more>> dying, but this time I could understand. I think, MC was still wanting the affection and love back then, that's why he always caused problem (typical children) although it backfired to him and instead made them dislikedd him even more.

I also applaud how MC finished his s*upid brainless cousins and made his aunt to see how wrong she was to (not) educate her children and created a pair of idiots. <<less

I don't understand in which angle this story can be rated as 1 star. The Novel is pretty interesting and translation is pretty good. ❤️ Their love is slow paced but beleive me it is full of fluff and flirting

there is no misunderstanding they always talk to each other.

The MC is pretty strong minded not like a MC who always relied on super-duper strong ml. He is capable & very likable. The ML is super strong businessman but he has also a soft, cute side which he... more>> sometimes revealed infront of MC.

I personally found the side characters interesting. Their compliments about MC & ML are really funny.

Aside from some loopholes in the plot everything is fine. U can just avoid those loopholes, that will not create any big problem.

I liked how the MC is not dependent on the ML, they both know how to take care of themselves, they have their own careers and each one takes care of their own problems. They know that if they need it, their partner will be there right away to help.

I also really liked that not all of MC's family were crazy people who only thought about money, I loved the relationship he has with his brother.

I only read one of the extras. The first four extras are about the past,... more>> the 5th was the one I read and is a year after what happens in the last chapter. The others didn't go to see what it was about.

I gave 5 star, no matter what I liked it. You need to read it to be able to judge. I read some 1 star comments and don't find them justifyed. Translator did a good job and author came up with good plot. Anyway I put this book under fav list :) Our tastes are different but I love that kind of story.

I went in with a certain expectation and it was met with flying colours. Just not 5 stars because it's definitely not a 5 star read.

But I'm thankful for the translation and that helped a lot.

It's like a shuangwen with OP MC and ML and A LOT of face slapping. The villains are all one dimensional and so unredeemable that they are like barrel bottom kind of scum. It's almost pitiable and when you think MC is being a tad too harsh on them, they will go around and... more>> shoot themselves on their own foot and try and do something worse. So not much sympathy there as well.

As for MC and ML, it's a very typical love story of 2 very attractive people. I liked the beginning more as the back got very sugary even for me. I like how ML is respectful of MC and his boundaries. And that MC does have his own group of friends and things outside of ML. Even though they do the face slapping as a true power couple (quite satisfying). There are some misunderstandings that were kind of cliche to the point of mild irritation but it didn't last long.

I really like the side characters too. Especially MC's best friend FZY. Sadly, no romantic plotline for him. There is a side couple that doesn't get much screentime or satisfying storyline OR fanwai. I was so disappointed that I went to jjxwz to find if the author wrote ANYTHING about them and lo and behold, she did write a whole mini book for them! And it's for free! Sadly since it's a separate kind of fanwai, I don't think it will get translated. I actually rate that story 5 stars, it had sooo much more depth in characters and dogblood drama for such a short story. Slight rant for the side story that probably no one else read:

I just want to say that I don't like YR's parents. There are people that want children but there are also people who should not be parents. And "generational gap" is such a cop out excuse. Because the tough love given to YR is such a stereotypical Asian parenting thing that it legit caused a heartbreaking meltdown and heaps of psychological damage for YR. The constant comparing and berating and belittling from children can cause so much damage to the psyche. It's awful. This side story is almost a whump story from how much YR suffered through but it kind of makes his HEA all the more sweeter as well. LZA better cherish him.

In short, it was about a contract marriage between MC and ML and how their feelings blossomed into something more.

What I wanted to talk about was the extras. Extras were usually written to share what happened after the 'happily ever after' or side couples. Instead, the writer decided to take a different approach. Part 1 was Patriarch Luo's Unrequited Love. We already have bits and pieces of this in the main story. Even though it was sweet, I did not want to walk down memory lane. Part 2... more>> was Affectionate Cub Raising. By the title alone you probably should know that it was about them raising their nephew which was also in the main story. Part 3 was What If. It features the probability of the main couple not separating after they met the first time. Where were my side couples? I was looking forward to getting more about them and was given none. *Sigh* <<less

Beautiful story, it pulled you right in with a sympathetic MC who is intelligent and does just the right amount of face-slapping. The ML is supportive and takes a step back, but is no less of a presence in the story, his actions are in the background. This a good read and has been excellently translated.
