Lin Ning transmigrated into the future, taking over the body of a fallen idol with a reputation worse than tr*sh— a waste of a beautiful face that might as well have been gifted by the heavens themselves.

But he only enjoyed experimenting with food, and so left the entertainment industry to tap into his cooking livestream potential, on the way picking up a cold, distant kitty with crazy fighting skills.

Who would’ve thought that he’d once again be under the spotlight after leaving the industry, this time going viral throughout space with his food? The fans cry and scream for the has-been idol to once again return onstage.

***

At first, the kitty only thought that Lin Ning was very special

Then, film stars and bigshots began bugging Lin Ning daily and those horrible rumours started to plague him

BA-BAM!

The Marshal, who took on a human form so suddenly pulled him into his chest and announced, in front of the entirety of space:

This Lin Ning— he’s mine.

I feel this genre is popular in China so publishers accept all stories even fanfiction level written by teenage girls. This genre is cold marshall X beautiful cook in interstellar time. Authors think it's easy, take a cold, domineering, rich, young, especially powerful and ill marshal, add a pretty, white skined, kind, polite, great cook who can save him, plus some zergs, military people, a traitor, cooking broadcasts, online rumors et voilà... But they have read so many of this same plots that they forget their worldbuilding, it's so obvious... more>> and vague in their head that they totally leave out this step. So what do readers have? Plot holes, so many of them... This world is supposed to have no plants, nothing, not a blade of grass, end of description. So... no insects and no animals, but then where do pets come from? So what's the environment? Soil, rocks, mountains, flat land, sea ? Why do no seeds grow? Why do they have big villas with large plot of land? And that's just to try to understand the setting.

So you'll think, until then, nothing different from the other ones you have read, just disengage your brain and have a good time. But this one is written by an author fangirling about her own characters.

MC starts as a man with a plan and finish as a white teeth, red lips, white skin, pure, beautiful (wo) man whose back seems so fragile and thin you want to protect him (her). His OPness grows every ten chapters, everybody'll love him, every powerful and rich man will want him, blablabla... Ok, it happens, especially with this kind of plot. But even with my brain offline my eyes were rolling nonstop because the author started putting her MC in every situation a self-respecting hardcore fangirl could imagine: saving the situation before powerful men, being cool by dancing/singing, being white whashed online without doing anything, getting the attention of every celebrity, forming CP with lots of popular people, being more beautiful than actual girls dressed up as a woman, and so on... All the "cool", cringey and cliched situations the author could imagine were crammed into the plot, so of course it caused multiple plot holes. MC quits the entertainment industry for good reasons but he'll still perform because his fans'll have doubts? MC has a plant power and can materialise out of thin air vegetables, seeds, meat, eggs, vinegar, soy sauce, tofu... and no one is asking questions?

Plot holes are ok when you can ignore them, when they are too big, you only see them. Plus every character was supposed to be so cool while being as mature as 3 years old... so much cringing stuff. I think it's ok, maybe fun to read if you're a teenager otherwise try another one. <<less

You know the drill: MC wakes up in interstellar world and starts live-streaming, has these cool earth things no one else can get, and takes the world by storm. If you’ve read one you’ve read them all, but just because it’s formulaic doesn’t mean it’s bad (the plot of Naruto and One Piece are the standard “I wanna be the best” and they still became world famous best sellers.). MC and ML are cute together, and I do like that MC’s cooking descriptions don’t go on forever and there’s a... more>> good mix of plot in between cooking parts so it doesn’t feel like you’re trying to read a cookbook. I really liked that MC was active in getting revenge for the original host + we see what happened to the original host as well, and it’s fun to watch MC take advantage of ML’s cat form to pet him all over without realizing his cat is actually human.

As I said, it’s very similar to other live-stream cooking stories but like I also said that’s not a bad thing. Yes, there’s nothing that particularly stands out but if you want just a lighthearted story to decompress with you know exactly what you’re getting into. It might not be some leg shaking, kidney bursting break out hit full of masterful purple prose and delicate, complicated scheming plot lines; but it also doesn’t pull any surprise punches either. <<less

This story is very enjoyable. MC is cute and his interaction with ML is sooo kawaiiii. The ML is cold but he warms up when next to MC and he can turn into a cat. I imagine ML as a maine coon. :D MC loves to cuddle, kiss and carry cat form of ML.

The extras are also very nice. The main characters' twins are so adorable. I'm glad that MC's parents on the earth learned to accept and love the transmigrated Lin Ning. I also think that Lin Rou reincarnated... more>> to be with her brother on the earth. (◍•ᴗ•◍) ❤ <<less

Good cooking novel. It's a short novel focused around food, feel-good & shonen-ai (so far), so please don't look for a heavy plot. Those who are regulars in C-Novels will easily guess the basic storyline and so on.

A cooking school's heir is transmigrated to interstellar world in a D-list celebrity, who was forced to commit su*cide (under pressure). Our new MC turns the tables around and picks up powerful allies along the way.

Some points that I thought other reviewers were biased against so I'd support the author here -

  • The lack of vegetables - I attributed this to the sci-fi background (suspension of belief for enjoying the story). Moreover, the next actions cover the tracks left behind (the cat having supreme military authority, higher-ups monitoring in a non-interventional manner, etc). The setting of no plants in a futuristic utopia is a bit hard to believe for some, but once you get past that, the rest isn't random braindead BS.
  • The rapid viewers - a possible explanation is that imagine someone introduced a practical video in a theory genre, where past streamers were conclusively proven to be fakes, causing a earth-shattering discovery, something like gravity or telephone. It also fits with the MC being monitored from Day 1 but he's in the eye of the storm, so his immediate surroudings are pretty calm.
Some plot holes that I agree with others -

  • Inconsistent MC - Sometimes the MC seems like a sweet, silly, naive kid (being close to a random delivery guy & even when knowing that animals can be humans, gets a random pet off the street), and other times he's shown as if he has deep planning (regards to his revenge). Not quite sure about this one but will wait to read further.
  • Inconsistent crowd - People are randomly tired of nutrient doses, but without any alternatives. How do gourmets exist without plants? Do they just eat raw or cooked meat without spices? You'd get only salt, as a mineral. Rest all spices are from plants and so on. Again, need to try a bit hard but can ignore if you're only in a mood for a feel-good story (like me :P)
All in all, good one to pass time, but don't nitpick too closely else the fantasy will fall apart. Will edit later on as the novel progresses.

This is the first review I’ve ever written, and I can see that this is a great novel! I’ve laughed a smiled a lot, and the ML eats a lot of vinegar! It’s very adorable. I can’t wait to see them interact as human/human rather than human/cat. This novel reminds me of the one novel where the MC is transmigrated to the interstellar and live streams cooking for his animals. It’s very cute, also a must read! So far, I’m really enjoying myself.

Very entertaining story!

Typical interstellar formula. Cold, OP marshall. Equally OP, gary stu MC, but he is the nice and not overbearing type.

... more>> MC is the only one with plant based abilities and can grow fruits and veggies from ancient Earth that were distinct. He never keeps it a secret.

MC donates the seeds to the Plant cultivation Center in order to have it mass produced. Also his plant abilities can cure mental riots and he saved the Marshall.

Though MC is OP he is low key. He doesn't start a medical clinic or files for patents etc. He only cures the ML and allows the military to research his powers to make a cure to benefit all. And that makes him quite down to earth imo, and much more likeable than those super overbearing MCs you often see in these type of stories. Also, curing the ML took quite some time and more realistic and satisfying to read than just snapping his fingers.

In short, very satisfying and entertaining story if you don't mind a few convenient plotholes in world building. <<less

I will rerate this again after I finish it but there is a really big plot hole since the beginning of the story. The author explains that there is only nutrient solution as food in the future and there's no vegetables no condiments and no spices but our MC starts to livebroadcast making Chinese food. Why does nobody doubt where the ingredients come from? To be a little more realistic MC should be taken by the government for investigation.

Second point - MC has seen ML's face on internet before but... more>> when he meets ML he doesn't recognize him.

I quit at chapter 36

its sweet the logic is fairly sound and the characters are interesting enough. The biggest flaws about this novel in my own personal opinion are that it drags on too long and that there are too many love interests that are useless plot wise if they were not love interests but friends then there wouldn't be any problem though.

I wanted to briefly share my impressions of this novel. I found that the plot is easy to understand and quite straightforward. Despite a few small plot holes, nothing that's hard to overlook.

The protagonist, MC, is portrayed as a likable character. Unlike some exaggerated descriptions, he is a passionate cooking enthusiast, and this passion remains consistent throughout the story. He unwittingly adopts a stray cat, not realizing it's ML, and develops a special bond with him. In his past life, he lacked friends and only had his parents by his... more>> side. He always had a desire to enjoy good food in the company of friends, which is reflected in the adorable interactions between MC and certain characters.

ML, on the other hand, initially pretends to be an ordinary cat out of curiosity about MC. Although he has lost his memory, glimpses suggest his importance and the need to deal with certain problems, leading to moments of distance from MC.

Interactions between MC and ML unfold over several chapters, and the discovery that the cat and ML are the same person takes time to be revealed, a choice I consider fitting to avoid monotony.

MC's cooking broadcasts develop convincingly. Choosing a less-known platform and an unusual theme doesn't make it implausible for his broadcasts to gain popularity in a world where plants have disappeared and nutrition is based on nutrients. The need for points to acquire ingredients and utensils is presented coherently.

The plot also addresses public perception of ingredient safety, with MC responding adeptly, obtaining a certificate to ensure the quality of his products. It explores how MC contributes to plant development with the help of specialists.

While tensions arise with some internet users, and an antagonist seeks to win MC over, the story doesn't overly focus on drama. Conflicts are resolved reasonably, and the plot aligns with the promise of a lighter, more charming narrative.

In summary, if you enjoy sweet and friendly stories, this novel could be a pleasant choice. <<less

The links for the chapters by Bearries don’t work, luckily you can backtrack to chapter 1 on Moonlight Novels.

I like the story so far, it kind of has a similar vibe to The Film Emperor’s Daily Live Cooking Broadcast mixed with I’m Using the Interstellar Live Broadcast to Raise Cubs.

Not gonna lie though, it’s hard to read on an empty stomach 😂

I like it but then chapter 68 happened.. It's too dramatic 🥲

All I can say is " you can't talk sense to a fool"

... more>> Well Ill rate it 3.5 star for Zhang Yiming. I think he is the only one who "likes" the MC because it's fun 🤔 it's like "watching everyone having fun so why not like him (mc) too I can also benefit from him 🤷🏻‍♀️ "

I'm back, I just want to say that Zhang Yiming is a green tea. Just like the MC in the novel The Green Tea is Always Targeting the Wrong Person! <<less

Very cliche, but I enjoyed it so far. I've read a lot of heavy plots and dramas lately, that this was a nice change of pace. These types of stories are junk food and my guilty pleasure.

I didn't like it enough to struggle with MTLing it, but if it's ever translated I would read again.

If you’re aiming to read fluff, this is it. It’s just everyday fluff, and in that sense it would be nice to read. It has a straightforward plot, MC transmigrates, goes from strong to stronger, the world is peaceful.

What I don’t really like about this is that nothing really stands out and the plot feels really dragged out. It’s basically your average live-streaming novel with all the typical plot points, except you take away the core that should differentiate it from other novels, and just leave it as it is.... more>> It’s all fluff, and I guess it does what it aims to, but also feels just really lacklustre. I got bored practically the moment the immediate problem at hand ended (MC’s reputation PR), and I’m only half way through.

I guess it’s not really terrible, but rather it’s really everyday fluff, without a strong execution to tie it tightly together. <<less

Caught up on the latest chapter, I decided to write a review. I read this in one sitting. It's a simple, straightforward, lighthearted story. There's A LOT of plot holes but, hey, just don't think too much about it lmao

MC is quite fine, nothing outstanding but good enough as a MC. ML is a big fat cat and I love him for it. They're so cute and sweet. MC is really slow to finally put the pieces together that ML and the cat is literally the same person. But it's... more>> fine, it's just to drag out more chapters, I don't want things to develop too quickly either.

Just like any other interstellar cooking streaming, MC's career comes really easy. He's gone viral by his second or third stream it's kind of funny. The interstellar people never eaten food other than nutrient liquids in their life after all. Instant popularity. The system really provides everything, from kitchen utensils to all the ingredients needed it's insane. Tho I don't really care when it talks with MC, it would've been fine even if it doesn't talk at all.

There's not much drama in the plot but it's interesting enough. It's not that boring, but if you don't like lighthearted stories it might make you bored tho, idk. I enjoyed it. <<less

I enjoy reading the story. Regardless of the existing plot holes.

Spoiler

what I regret is the end of the supporting role. Apart from the main spouse, there is no other couple besides their child.

[collapse]

I also cried in a scene or two.

Spoiler

I'm quite happy that Lin Ning just switched bodies. It's better than one of them dying. Both of them live a new life in a fairly new environment.

It's not bad! An enjoyable novel. There are a lot of plotholes but I like that the food description doesn't take up half of the chapters. If this is your first time reading these kind of novel, you might like it!

The reason for the rating is because of stylistic choices. I think it's fine technically (besides the plotholes) but the stylistic choices the author made can be abit... well, it differ from people to people. For me, I felt that there's no sense of security; you can see the problem... more>> coming from a mile away, but it still happens. No prevention and no actions taken, I would rate this higher because I enjoyed the romance -- but this in particular kind of irks and annoyed me.

This is more of a personal preference, but the peach blossoms became too much and too ridiculous that I got disgusted and couldn't stand it. It was fine at first, but then it became an unnecessary part of the plot, felt very cheap and shoddy - also is pretty brain-dead. Every character likes the MC for no reason at all, some of the interactions are very ??? especially the big star actor. He met him once, and then the way it escalated was so unbelievable. Not to mention the subpar effort every other characters put in, this novel becomes less and less enjoyable because of these unnecessary elements. But I get it, the writer wrote it for themselves, so it's fine it's just my personal preference and thoughts on this novel!

Other than that, part that is not actually good is the plotholes. There's so many that I can't count. The one that stood out and irks me the most is how other characters flattered and speak so nicely, seems to be on the 'good' side - but it's all just lip service and did nothing they promised. The science institute still let the antagonists in, did nothing to help solve, prevent, protect or whatever they promised the MC to do. The main big actor said he'll help - he put out one statement and never followed up. It's nonsense at this point, every character seems to talk big games but did little to nothing in the actual plot/progression of the novel, everything unfurls naturally, but nothing is explained or seems to happen. I think this is just lazy, but it's fine.

Other than that, it's a fine novel. It's not that bad to be honest, it has the 'cold marshal MC gong turned into a housecat' and 'anchor MC who cooks food and livebroadcast' solid. It may not be mindblowing but it's still a good novel, I don't regret reading it even if it's not to my own taste.

Also the face slaps aren't satisfying, not bother. There's a lot of build up but nothing happens and there's no sense of satisfaction after. Also this is minor, but the continuity between chapters is abrupt, it's a personal choice and it's not a bad thing, but it does feel a little confusing if you're used to one chapter ending and the next chapter continuing on. <<less
