Little better than average. The plot and the world building is generic as seen in tons of dungeon Korean novels. MC is OP and is the greatest genius ever. The villainsn are dumb. Villians are genric, no depth to them.

At least the MC is not 2D, and the author writes dialogues well. And the translation quality is good.

You can read it for passing your time

Has ups and downs but mostly ups. The author tried to integrate so many tropes into the novel but ultimately, many were forgotten, creating more questions as you finish the novel. The final arc is also insanely rushed. Overall, not a bad read but dont come in with high expectations

Its a fun but slow story about following how the MC will grow and overcome challenges and setbacks. But it also has a clearly defined goal and ending for once. There is an endpoint and you know he will reach it at the end. But thats just what the novel is about and I respect it not being dragged out until it entirely stops making sense.

  • OP MC
  • No harem
  • Generic setting/clear end
  • No romance
The novel is good at what it wants to show you. The main point of the novel is not the... more>> generic setting of worlds connecting with monsters and demons invading through gates.

The main point is following the story of the frozen player. A hero who was a pioneer of his time with his comrades who got frozen for 25 years.

You know that the MC is eventually going to win, You know that the MC is going to have some setbacks, You know the MC is going to be in his own league at some point.

The other characters in the novel are never truly useless. Not as strong as the MC but they have their own character building, they have their own stories and strengths how they connect and fight together.

If you read to this part. Just give it a try and drop it if you don't like it. It's not that deep, you're not losing anything. <<less

The story starts off very well, especially if you came from the manhwa. Despite very generic elements such as skill changes and level resets, there are still cool points to follow. Unfortunately, the story loses a lot of focus and the negative points only increase as it progresses. I'll leave some spoilers below.

Spoiler

• The author completely loses the focus of the story.

• The MC's old friends have a good beginning and a bad ending. They lose their importance throughout history, especially after being thawed Their progress is completely irrelevant, despite them getting stronger and improving, it doesn't really make a difference, nor does it have any bearing on the story. It's basically "character A trained and got stronger.", "Character B progressed in this.".

• Another character that gained a lot of hype for being abandoned was the Celestial Demon. He started out as the first big villain and someone who threatened the MC. And at one point they had a big clash, but then it was simply discarded because the MC had made enormous progress with a terrible explanation and he lost his meaning as a villain.

• There was a kind of repetitive and meaningless arc where the MC was in a time loop and this provided him with enormous strength, but in return it was just a Deus Ex Machina for us readers.

• The final villain and the reason for the MC's victory were really poorly written, completely rushed.

[collapse]

The author ended the novel very abruptly, providing half-baked explanations. In a way, it's worth watching, but not expecting too much from the end. There are other cool parts, so I recommend following the manhwa instead of the novel. <<less

Chapters 001-098 Earth
Chapters 099-??? Frontier

As with most Asian novels, the premise for each section listed above were interesting, but eventually everything crawled down hill.

And it's a bit hard to put my finger on why I feel this way about so many novels.

But maybe I could describe it as:

Having the character react to the world

vs

Having the world react to the character

I'm not sure if I'm explaining it well, but that's just the general feeling I get from reading these types of novels.

And, unfortunately, a lot of Asian novels end up in the latter category while chalking it up to "luck."

I suppose another way to put it is that I lean towards disliking "chosen one" vibes because, ultimately, it just invalidates the efforts put forth by any other character simply on the basis that they just weren't as fortunate to end up with the powers or items the MC obtained.

For example, it just was never possible to beat the MC in the first place after the very point he was able to kill the Frost Queen at the beginning of the story.

Because his growth afterwards all stems from an event that no one else got the opportunity to participate in.

Spoiler

Other players literally can't even progress much further during the 25 years he was asleep because him having the nucleus prevented them from doing so.

Not to mention everyone else is basically on their first game, in ironman mode, while he is essentially playing NG+

[collapse]

And eventually I found the cycle of "struggling or observing" and then dispatching any player or person, who stood against him, in "one shot..."

Over and over and over and over again...

Was extremely boring.

And as far as the system goes, it feels like a reflection of modern MMOs...

A glorified straight path for solo players...

Or in other words: Another world designed to lose.

And I just don't have it in me to continue reading.

Note: I ended up giving this two stars because it's not absolutely terrible and would likely be a decent read for people who are newer to web novels.

A pretty good dungeon with game elements webnovel. The system only shows meesages occasionally so they don't really distrup the flow and most of the action is pretty well explained.

There were also many instances where I couldn't expect what to happen lol so I enjoyed it. The mc's main party were likable and they each got a part dedicated to them about their past, getting stronger, etc so they were mostly there throughout the novel.

Also if u want to know if Jun-Ho reveals is identity;

Spoiler

Yes it's in chapter 312

This story made me laugh all the time and cry many times as well, I had so much fun reading this and I adored the main character and everyone in the cast. There were all kinds of weird plot things happening which were really interesting, and the author stuck to their main goal of showing what a hero is, which I thought was lovely. 10/10 recommend

Cool setup, but then again I have read too many Korean dungeon/return novels to get excited. This needs more punch! Not bad, just nothing new. 3/5.
