Not a bad story, but at the same time no particular intrigue or development that would rivet my attention throughout. I was mostly here for the cute interactions between the sweet Song Song (MC) and the doting Li Xiao (ML). His uncontrollable mania was interesting but nothing major to their relationship. The court drama and greedy villains were expected.

I don't like this series as much as the other novels Ive read, tho its not bad. It seems like a typical "wronged shou MC rebirth" story - like someone else mentioned, there was a lot of satisfying faceslapping as MC and ML combine forces. I find Song Song's tiny mouse-hoarding behavior SUPER cute, that was one of my favorite part of the story. I also found the little inside joke between Song Song and the godlike doctor (I think his name was Ji Ying) very funny. The story plays... more>> hard on the "Only I can save him" or "I can change him" trope so I get secondhand embarrassment sometimes, personally I found it cringey even though ik that's just the setting and Song Song is absolutely not a pick-me. And tbh this type of ML is not my favorite cause of the way he perceives s*x as MC's duty. I found it a shame how the little son gets treated by the ML (the lil cutie ends up sorta neglected due to ML's possessive personality) especially considering Song Song's whole motive in the beginning was to meet his son again after rebirth.

I would rate the novel a 3.5/5 because it's not the worst novel or anything, it was a smooth easy read I just didn't enjoy myself as much. <<less

5 starts for direct face slapping and how the story progress. It's an absolute light novel with tons of fluff and sweet romance. Nothing too deep in this story but I think if you're interested to have a quick read about ancient china, revenge, rebith, romance-themed story. 💕💕💕

The plot and storyline were quite good, we had a resolution in everything that happened to the MC and ML, but to be honest I was dissatisfied and thought towards the end the author kind of "lost" it. As always, when this happens I lose interest in the novel, which means I wont reread it in the future.

so why did I feel the end was unsatisfying ? The main reason is how the ML disregards everything besides the MC. Understandable as in this life he is actually with him, but the child he loved in the previous life is now a rival for the MC's affections. To be honest, this is something I really don't understand even in real life so I guess it really annoys me.

On the other hand plot-wise, the biggest issue I have is that the MC managed to find the doctor that was able to make the ML able to be pregnant, but none of them thought to get him to provide a cure to remove the poison completely. I find that the author thought it was better to keep the ML as a cold maniac person instead of actually regaining his control because otherwise the MC would have been considered useless. For me, that shows that in the end the love the ML has for the MC is really due to the fact he can bring him back to his senses.

Something else that needs to be said is regarding childbirth and how the author just glossed it with only over mentioning the holy medicine, and, of course, no other child.... If it was so easy at the time to not get pregnant why not make it a one-off event ?

I liked the characters and if they were able to truly have a happy ending with everything really resolved it would have been a greater story IMO. <<less

Well! Its one of the normal fluffy story where the tyrant keep pampering his wife. Translation is good as I observed the translator's citation skills are in perfect synch with his/ her translation. Good read to pass the time. May or may not read it 2nd time. I don't know whether translated version will be available to you but till yesterday evening it was there. Its my 1st time writing a review so I don't know whether it will be helpful or but if you want to read the story,... more>> simply go for it without getting influenced by other people's opinions as everybody will be having a different opinion on a different things.

Our ML is a sick child who lost the love of his life (MC) and later reincarnated in the same body. MC is also reincarnated in his same body. MC is quite funny as earlier he doesn't seems interested in ML besides making a baby with him. Ah! I forgot to tell you that MC can become a pregnant due to some medicines fed to him by his step mother (It was an experiment though). Quite number of Flashbacks

This is a really good story if you’d like to read some pampering.

The ML really dotes on MC and there’s really no angst between the two of them, just lovey dovey stuff.

I find the little crown prince very cute too, I wish there was more of him!

jealous the ML gets over his son. Like I get he’s completely obsessed w/ MC but I find it so unreasonable that he pretended to be mute/dead when the MC gave birth, it must have been so hard on MC especially since he just gave birth!!

Good thing MC punished him but still, ML didn’t really feel bad for doing that because he was jealous

Although in the coming chapters, we do see ML coming to love the baby as well but when the crown prince was 10, crown prince just wanted to spend time w/ MC cause he’s still a kid and craving some time w/ his dad but noooo the ML just had to pretend to be sick to drive him away

Loved the story.

You will enjoy it, if you don't dwell deep because there are some plot holes here and there (only a Lil bit)

But it an amazing story, way better than some stories out there

... more>> The loved between the two protoganists was very sweet, albeit the ML was bit too excessive by trying to compete with his own son to that extent, but he's crazy, so yeah it's ok for him to (that's his reason).

I would recommend to give it a try and read it and see if you can enjoy it, it is a good read and the translator did a wonderful job. <<less

This novel is really good!! Fluff

There are some issues but still worth 5 stars.

ML is yandere but a good side. His life's obsession and love is MC.

ML's yandere kind of character was revealed only during last 10 chapters, but somewhat didn't like it much. Clearly he was so gentle to MC from the start till the end, but that gentleness in last few chapters have a different flavor as if it wasn't love. It seemed out of place for me but also seemed expected, cause that's how MC is. MC didn't love ML at the start and he is someone who won't say his feelings out contrary ML always expresses his love but always felt MC didn't like him back. But this is just a very little part, the story of full of fluffiness, love and trust.

But the thing I hated the most was ML's scheme at the night of the child birth, he shouldn't have played with a just labored empress MC with his schemes making him cry and regret. That was really bad. ML who usually understands MC's worries however here acted bad here.

I wished they had more children. <<less

Recommended. Personally, this novel is a good recommendation. It wasn't the best but I'm sure the readers will enjoy it plot-wise. This novel has a common trope: second life, and revenge but what made it unique is the connection tied between their past life and their new one. It was expounded properly and it wasn't forced.

The characters are lovable especially the main character, the uke, he isn't weak and too naive. He knew how to scheme and make his enemies suffer. Also, to those readers who hated unreasonable revenge, this... more>> novel is good for you.

The male lead has the classic domineering and stubborn character but you would understand the reason behind it. The author was able to utilize it in their plot. It also became one of the flaws of the male character the author took time to flesh out. I like that the male lead wasn't healed, like immediately.

Anyways, for other readers, this novel can be a bit boring but if you enjoy the plot and less dog drama then maybe, you will enjoy this novel. <<less

the setting is ancient times, MC has a baaaad fam, was fed some pill to get preggone ml, then got cheated over and over by fam members and died tragically... but boom! reborn and decides to get revenge, and boi, guess what, ML also reborn, and so MC escaping his fam with ml's help and ML just loving MC. in the beginning mc's actitude, I find it quite fitting bc dude, it's a tyrant! but then it's all sweet~ and the preggonis here again~ hehe

What the author did in the last 9 chapters?
Everything was going well until reaching chapter 72.
What is it?!?!
I am so angry! I hate ML. I will never recommend this novel to anyone. How can the writer screw up the story in the end?
What ML did is unforgivable.

This story I will rate 4.7... it's pretty good. The story ain't dragged and the main characters were focused on two purposes- to get revenge and change their fate. It was written as fast? paced bcs they were both reborn with the memory of their past experiences so they have ideas of what was to come. Actually, this is my second time encountering a story that the MC and ML got in a relationship in the first few chapters, then the MC returning the feelings in the next 20 to... more>> 30 chapters. The other one being Rebirth of a Movie Star. Kinda refreshing bcs almost all of the CN BL novels I read dragged until half of the total chapters are done for the main characters to be together.

MC is weak in here in terms of physical strength bcs he was abused and malnourished. However, he has a strong mindset for a person who was mentally abused and knows what's right and wrong. He sympathized with those who deserve it but ruthless to those who harmed him or the people important to him.

ML can be considered as obsessive? but he never actually harmed anyone who is close to MC... Obsessive in a way he will never let go of MC and will literally go berserk without him... but it was bcs of his mental illness caused by the poison.

This story kinda mention parallel universe where in the other universe, the MC and later his child died bcs of his half brother and became a ghost...

The author sometimes write in a confusing manner so thank to translator for explaining some of her confusing words...

What I didn't find satisfying was the ending...

It never gave a conclusion if the ML ever get the poison out of his system bcs in the ending, it just mentioned the poison is suppressed after acting up again when the ML is already an emperor... What happened to the prince after he ascended the throne or if ML have any episodes again before he retired. It was cut off and leave some questions hanging... It was an unfinished ending so it's kinda frustrating...

Overall, the story was good. The interaction between MC and ML are sweet, funny, and overall satisfying. You'll constantly eat dog food especially after the MC accepts his feelings. It's also unique bcs the princes ain't fighting for power but rather have a very good relationship with each other, even the crown prince. It's just a fight between those who really have the power and influence in their hands. Good read even tho I was left hanging with the ending :D <<less

Dropped this before bec I thought MC was like a lady and was put off by it (this is bec this is my first danmei and I was a bg reader). But after picking it up again, it wasn't that case.

MC is smart, well behaved. Originally approached ML with a purpose, becomes hot and cold towards him (minus star for this part), but as the story progresses, it becomes better.

ML's feelings aren't actually without a bases so its good. He's narrated as a mad man which might be = possessive,... more>> but I find that it wasn't that case. He's actually kinda loose on MC, but he does act like a madman (threatening MC by killing himself if he doesn't give him any attention— but this is in the last part so).

Im kinda off put with how much the characters pertain to ML as 'crazy, insane, lunatic' even the MC and his child calls him that, even his closest personnel. I mean sure it's true but in the sentences used, it was kind of degrading in some ways.

Anyhows I like the twist in the ending! 4.5/5! <<less

I liked the novel. The summary of the novel tells everything it has. As for to know other parts you should read for yourself. That will worth it.இ﹏இ

Felt heartache for both ML & MC about their past life, but after reincarnation thet over through everything and rewrite their fate. Even Got their baby back. Their love interaction was warm. ML was jealous of their own child in extra. (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Villains had their miserable endings. Overall plot of novel was well written. +_+

Relaxing, face-slapping guilty pleasure junkie novel.

3.6 !!!

I came from a heart wrenching novel so this just perfect and was an easy read.

Revenge swiftly done except one but feel like all had outcomes were preferred by the MC so all is well.

The translation is very clear and was grareful for the clarifications.

The little prince is going to grow up with some issues because of his own dad, and I don't understand why the author insisted on this character setup for ML - crazy unreasonable until the end even when he has recovered. It only brought down the mood of an otherwise complete ending.
