A Virtual Reality Web-Novel featuring me – a male protagonist. My best friend killed himself because of his mentally addictive heartbreaking romance with an NPC in a VR game. My wife moans loudly, as she attempts to secretly cheat on me with some guy in our bedroom.

Oh, and one more thing. After all this crap happened, the author sent me back in time. You gotta agree that this has to be one hell of a lucky coincidence. But then again, is my best friend’s su*cide the main reason for this revolution? I mean, what else could be the explanation for me, time-traveling into the past? I guess reading this novel is my only way of finding out what happens next.

The story is pretty interesting. It's sad that NovelCow (previous translators) who introduced Spectator to us has abandoned this series for some lame Chinese Wuxia novel. It's totally ridiculous, but I'll bear with it because Spectator is worth waiting for and you can grow attached to it because it's actually a POV of sorts of our main character. Even with the summary's sense of humor, you'll need to check the 1st chapter for yourself in order to get a good feel of the story. Just be aware that the previous... more>> translation group's leader (Kista - Novelcow) isn't reliable with updating their viewers about what's going on with the lack of releases. So I would ask you guys to wait till chapter 10 is out. Instead of waiting in pain, like I'm doing. <<less

Fantastic novel. Amazingly well developed characters. MC's thoughts are particularly mature and complex, the introspective reflection that goes on in his head is very well written, particularly with regards to how one should live one's life (learning from mistakes he made in his past life - this is done better than pretty much all of the reincarnation novels I've read so far), his judgment of other people's actions and what it shows about their character and attitude towards him, his analysis of the events and decisionmaking process. Even the dialogue... more>> between him and the teacher who tried to persuade him from dropping out. Everything is engaging, well written, and well thought out. Characterization is amazing, possibly one of the best I've ever read in any novel actually. Sadly, only 6 chapters were translated and it seems the translator dropped it. Very unfortunate since the story was just getting good. <<less

This is super interesting. The MC is such an intricate and great character. When looking at his past struggles and grievances, like his wife cheating (present life) and other stuff (in past life), he is mature enough to see the greater picture of it all and not have outbursts like what other MCs would do in his situation. He knows the world isn't black or white, but all grey. His decisions, views, and temperament are so rational and wise, that the character is very refreshing. Plus his character is like... more>> a side character, hence spectator as the novel title. But regardless it does not mean he is any less dull or exciting. In fact more so because we are viewing the story from a different and new type of perspective and he's also a very awesome character to boot!

The story is so promising with so many possibilities and ways to advance, it's too bad it doesn't look like translations are coming any time soon. But reading 6 chapters is worth the time even if it's not a lot of story because each chapter is cool! <<less

This novel is gold.

The MC is mature, has his hardships in life, and then he hitched a ride for a 2nd chance in life (yep hitched he was not the target of time rewind).

And with this chance he reflects on what happened to him through his life and what should be changed, and just the start he is doing well.

The writing style is good and the story is interesting, th translation even though short was splendid.

Truly a shame this was dropped, I hope someone can take this up.

this is interesting. I'm not sure how it slipped past my radar before but it's definitely in my K reading list now. So far it's pretty good, though I'm confused about some of his motives and actions ... more>>
Spoiler

I don't get why he quit high school like that; I'm not sure if the real reason was given and I missed it or what (not the excuse he gives the school but his real motivation).

I don't get why he moved where he did and apparently spends his days bumming around and "helping out" despite saying he didn't want to be used for his money and how his friends all left when he ran out of cash. Everyone around obviously knows he has money and he gives it away all over the place. He's still being used for his money, (they're just strangers/ neighbors now instead of friends).

no matter how good he feels about helping others, he basically put himself in the same situation he complained about and hated in the first place. I think I wouldn't care otherwise but the author spent so much time talking about how he regretted it in his first life that it makes this decision/action questionable.

I don't understand why many people don't understand this novel, I mean, he (MC) is just someone who tries to believe that a harmonious relationship really exists.

That's what I've seen so far.

And I really like him, he's an MC with a background and mental development that makes me really feel like shouting out loud (in a good sense), It gives me an impressive point of view.

Hello there, I don't think that this novel need another good review, so I'll cover what people who ridicule this novel do not understand about MC, which lead them to drop this series. Will contain spoilers. ... more>>
Spoiler

For starters why MC helps people unrelated to him - he do it to feel good, so thouse people will not become someone like him in original time line. It's called helping yourself trought others, psychotherapy if short. Why drop out of school, do this or not doing that? Do you know what goal MC have in the first place? Game? Be a good boy? Become rich? Revenge on his friend? He want to find the devil to make a contract to return again, but 15 days earlier. He just want a normal life with parents... ~Fin.
